Default values while item create

Hi All ,
My requirement is to provide default values on the RPM portal screen , just when the RPM item create sceen is displayed.
In general tab, one cproject template field and then checkbox corresponding to the same.I tried some Badi's but not resolved.
Please advice on the same , Is it feesbile? If yes , how ?

I think couldn't really understand what you two need, but I will try to help you anyways.
Please, check the following IMG activity:
SAP Portfolio and Project Management --> Portfolio Management --> Global Customizing --> Global Settings --> Check Global Settings.
Select Area 0006 and go to Default Settings (SAP). You'll be able to analyze the following SAP settings:
Area Text Name Text2 Settings Value
0006 User Interface Settings 0004 Create Project on Saving Checkbox for Proj. Mgmt <Visible='X' Hidden X
0006 User Interface Settings 0005 Proj. Mgmt Template Visibility <Visible='X' Hidden=' '> X
0006 User Interface Settings 0006 Proj. Mgmt Template Mandatory <Mandatory='X' Not Mandatory=' '>
If you want to change any of these default settings, go to SAP Portfolio and Project Management --> Portfolio Management --> Global Customizing --> Global Settings --> Override Default Global Settings.
(I am currently working with PPM 5.0. If you are too, be aware of the existance of SAP Note 1528304 - Project Management Template field cannot be hidden).
To configure the automatic creation of a project when the portfolio item is created, you have to maintain both IMG activities:
Define Portfolio Item Types
Map Item Type to Project or PS
I still haven't used this tool, but I know that you can set some default settings in the Personalization tab in SU01 transaction code. Maybe it can be useful to search the behavior of some "personalization object keys" started with /RPM/* or RPM*.

The events of BDT can be used to default some fields on creating a partner.
For this create a function module for ISDAT. attach that event in BUS7.
In the ISDAT funtion modulethe following code should be used.
For example to set the nationality:
I_BUSDEFAULT-NATIO = 'DE.

Set as default value the Item Category in the Maintenance Order

Hello everyone,
We are trying to find a user exit in order to set as default value the item category in the Maintenance Order once the Material has been introduced (Tag Components).
SAP Customizing let the user set the Item Category automatically per Material Type, but we need to set different Item Categories to materials belonging to the same material type.
We would really appreciate any help relating this issue.

Thank you very much for your response.
I had already tried customizing mentioned by Pithan, but it did not work because we need to set different Item Categories for Materials with same Material Type.
We have been searching for exits which may let us set Item Category in the Maintenance Order, but it does not seem to be possible.
What you say about adding some custom validation through user exit, not to set item category as default value, but to check if the one entered is valid, sounds the best way of achieving our commitments.
I have tried to look for CNEX0037 & CNEX0038, by using transactions SE37 and SE38, search for programs and functions modules, but it did not work. Could you please tell us what kind of objects are?

You can write the Validation and make the field mandatory.
In Prerequisite
Business Place = ' ' OR Business Place (Not Equal To) 'IND'
In Check
Transaction code = 'MIRO' and Transaction code = 'FB60' AND Account type = 'K'
Then you will meet your requirement.

Set new value as a default value while creating PD(Performance Dailog) Form

Hi,
In Performance management,
While clicking on the Create new PD Form Button, We are getting one Pop up window with the deafult selection screen.
In that,
We are getting Valid From: and Valid To value bydefault as a '01.01.2011' and '31.12.2011' .
We need to change that value. How can we set our new value as a default value.
We checked in debugging, this values are hardcoded in the SAP standard dyanpro component.
how can we set our new default value?

There are ceratin fields which can be defaulted at item as well as header level in purchase order.
Now please guide me that is there any possibilty to add any field apart from the list of fields given by default.

In the Personal Settings button in the PO entry screen in transaction ME21N, a new window pops up. This window has two tabs: Basic settings and Default values.
The Default values screen itself has two tabs: PO header and PO item. When you click on the PO header tab (Figure 1), the system displays PO header fields such as Document Type, Purchasing Org., Purch. group, and Company Code. You can set a default value by selecting the desired value from the respective drop-down menus. The advantage of setting defaults here is that these are applicable only to POs and not to every transaction. Once you save these defaults, the corresponding fields are populated with these default values each time you run this transaction.
This will help you in setting default values to fields at header and item level.

ORA-01400 - not null column with default value and item with authorization

I've searched - I would think someone has run into this. APEX 3.0.0.00.20 - I've created a simple form on a table. One of the column is a not null column with a default value. I have a select list on that item, but it has security on it - authorization scheme. So, it checks the user and if that user isn't of the right role, it will not even display that item. However, APEX appears to still send in the column in its sql! So, the default value is useless, it sends in null each time. Even if I set the default at the Item level, I get null. Argg. That's got to be a bug...
In debug, I do not see the item listed at all. It's not used. That's fine - but why is it trying to insert the value? I would think it would leave it off??? I think because the item is associated with a database column. But, getting around this is ugly. Having to create a hidden item for each one, and then check to see if I need to take the list value... horrible. Any way to get around this???

I should add - I guess I can always put my own custom process in to replace the DML. Just seems like a simple thing - if the value doesn't appear on the debug, isn't set with any default value... don't include it in the DML.

I need to set default values for the field Fiscal Quarter in item level using BADI CRM_CUSTOMER_I_BADI .This Field is created using EEW. The default value is like if the date is nov-2007 the value for this fiscal period is FQ4-2007 .

Why don't you try setting the default value in the List next to the Matrix - item 107
Item 107 is a matrix (a transposed one), I have no idea what list you mean... I am using item 107, not 112. Item 112 is used only to detect a click on the "Add Record" button, which is the last row of the matrix 112.
I don't see the gender column in the grid and I'm also unsure of the id you have for it "12" - are you sure it's correct ( i usually use Item("columnName") )?
Sorry for the confusion. "12" is the name of the standard column "Password" which we have renamed to store the gender.

Changing the default value of "Items Due" in iProcurement 11.5.9

Is there anyway of changing the default value of 'Today' that appears in the Item Due field when doing an expanded search on Receive Items? We would like this set to 'Any Time' which is more useful to us.
Is there anyway of changing the default value of 'Today' that appears in the "Requisition Created" field when doing an expanded search on Requisitions in iProcurement? We would like this set to 'Any Time' which is more useful to us.

MASTER DETAIL - SET DEFAULT VALUES FOR ITEMS

I have a master detail page where on the master I do things like updating the entered_by and entered_date fields
by applying functions to set the item level details and the setting them to read only.
On the detail portion of the page I'd like to do the same but I don't see the details items on the page - only the master items.
The details portion is for comments so I'd like to have the commenter_name and commenter_date set to defined values
when I hit the add row button on the details portion.
Where are the detail items?
I'm using APEX 3.2

Hi,
When you use master detail form, APEX generate 'Detail portion' as report. So if you edit the page, you may not see actual items for 'detail portion'.
If you want to set any default values or want to format these items, you may need to do as follows
1> Edit 'report' of 'detail portion'
2> Click on report attributes
3> Click on column, you want to set default values
4> Now here, Under 'Tabular Form Element' section you can do this by setting proper values to 'default type' and 'default' fields.

Shijesh is right, you need to change your null return value and use that return value as your default. Try and use something of the same datatype as your real return values if you plan to use '%' to display all as it will make your queries simpler. eg.
Company A returns 1
Company B return 2
% returns 0
Then your query would be...
SELECT ...
FROM ...
WHERE company_id = DECODE(:P_COMPANY,1,1,2,2,0,company_id)

You can either create trasaction variants with Default values and then create transaction suing these Variant transaction and use this transaction instead of irignal transaction.
SHDS-> to create Variant transaction
SE93-> to create transaction of this Variant Transaction.
or you can also use SAP memory statements like GET and SET PARAMETERS to set one value in one internal session and get that in another session in an External session.

No matter what I put in the default value for date picker none will show up.

Have you specified what type of default value it is? Static Text, PL/SQL Expression or PL/SQL Function Body?
I have that the best way to set a default value is by creating a computation, set to run Before Header and conditional on the item being NULL.
