Define a partially linear quantity scale in SLCM (Academic Scales)

Hello,
I'm quite familiar with defining academic scales, but I wonder how to define the intervals for a partially linear quantity scale?
For example, I like to implement the scale 1,0 (Best) / 1,3 / 1,5 / 1,7 / 2,0 / ... / 4,7 / 5,0 (Worst)
I inserted the following data in the corresponding customizing activity.
Base Value ¦ Lowest Value ¦ Highest Value ¦ Intervall
50.000,00 ¦ 5,000 ¦ 1,000 ¦ 0,1
(System Scale is set to 60 000)
But how can I define, that no one enters the mark 1,2?
Thanks in advance
R. Seidler

Robert,
You should set up such a scale as a 'Quality' scale instead.  Normally the 'Interval' can be used to control the entries in a linear scale, but it seems that your intervals might be irregular, so a Quality scale is needed instead.  There, you just explicitly enter the allowable values.

Is this called partial confirmed quantity.
Can any one explain in  detail about the above output?

yes its the partially confirmed quantity.
    Ex:
for sales order if the complete stock is not available. then there are 3 options available for delivery.
consider a sales order with item qty 100 but only 65 are available.
1.one time delivery : only the available qty will be confirmed.(ie 65) (confirmed qty = available stock = 65).
    data in VBEP table :

  • Automatic define academic scale in booking process

I want the system automatically define the academic scale setting in evaluation infotype of module (1710) in booking process.
And I found this information from IHE103.
u201CWhen you enter a grade for module appraisal, the scale which defines the format of the grade is taken from the scale defined in the booking relationship or it is inherited from the Evaluation infotype (1710) of the module or program of study:
u2022Starting from the program of study (SC) and following to the module (SM).u201D
I think it is possible to solve this requirement by using standard configuration. Could anyone suggest me how to config the IMG to support this requirement ?
    Thank you in advance.
    VC.

    Hello cha,
If the academic scales are defined at module level i.e., in module evaluation infotype, the same scales will be inherited to the module booking and appraisal. We also have the provision to define a different scale in module booking,  in such a case, this will be used in appraisal.
If no scales are maintained at all in module 'evaluation' infotype and during module booking, the scales defined in img activity ' define standard scales ' will be used.
If your requirement is to use only the scales defined in module ' evaluation ' infotype, then u can leave the 'scale ID' field blank during module booking process, then the scale ID defined at module level will be inherited though not displayed in booking dialog.
    Hope it clears

  • How to more than one scale (4.0 scale and 4.3 scale)

    Dear All,
In our case( Korea Sogang University) customer used 4.0 scale for module appraisal but changed to 4.3 scale some years ago.
In this case how can we use two scale ?.
some students have 4.0 scale appraisal and 4.3 scale also.
I want to total GPA as 4.3 scale bases becuase it is used currently.
    regards,
    jin dal

    Jin Dal,
I think you can simplify this, depending on how you have actually defined the scales.  In an ideal world, you would have set up the scales in the following way:
    <u>KRDO (A-F)</u>
    A = 90,000
    B= 80,000
    C= 70,000
etc., or some similar scale values
    <u>KRG1 (4.0 scale)</u>
4.0 would map to 90,000 (NOT 100,000) - This means that the 'upper limit' of that linear quantity scale is something other than 4.0.
    <u>KRDR (A-F with +/-)</u>
    A+ = 93,000
    A0 = 90,000
    etc.
If you did this, then you would not even need scale KRGV.
Here is the problem.  You cannot just go and change your scales now to this simple model.  Why?  The appraisals you have already stored contain the absolute value (i.e. the value on the 100,000 scale).  They would then all be wrong, unless you went into each appraisal and re-stored it.
I mainly describe that scenario for everyone else out there setting up their systems.  Leave some 'headroom' above you current maximum score in the GPA!  You may need it later.  This is described in the Base Configuration Cookbook in my sticky post.
Unfortunately for you, I suspect you set up your scale KRDO with A = 100,000, and your linear scale KRG1 with 4.0 as the highest values (= 100,000).  That means you really do need the extra 4.3 scale of KRGV.
You will probably not want to keep going into the IMG to change the scale for GPA.  In fact you might have a user bring up the performance indices for a pre 2001 student, and then immediately jump to a post-2001 student!  So, here are your possible solutions:
    1) Just have two different performance indices: one for pre-2001, one for post-2001
    2) For your GPA PI, use the 4.3 scale.  However, then you need to change your PI Calculation itself to look at the appraisal records.  For the pre-2001 students, you need to actually CHANGE (in memory; not in the database) the assigned grades from A to A0, B to B0, C to C0, etc.

  • Issue in the Academic Scales for Campus Management

    Hi All,
When I use the quality scale A  to E , it works fine without any problems.
But when there is a H or O grade [ So H and O will come after E where H is my top grade] ,and  the system automatically calculates in an ascending order which will not suit my requirements.
It would be highly appreciable if anyone would help me in this issue .

    Hi Gajalakshmi,
For the system to work properly, you need to give the correct values in IMG in the nodes Academic Scale -> set system scale & set up academic sclaes. You might have done this but check once more.
Use the scale.doc given in help.sap to determine the correct base value. This excel file is of immense help.Once done, give the values for A to O in the 'scale values' coloumn while creating the academic scales. It should work in the normal course.Try this and in case it still causes problems ,revert....probably trying to solve this issue,we might come up with new findings

  • Assigning the academic scale to the assessment

    Hallo everyone,
I have assigned the academic scale to the assessment in the infotype 1767 that is different by module scale. Then I have created scheduled assessment for this assessment and the student is registered for this created scheduled assessment.
I used online-grading through SE80-Package PMIQ_EXT_IAP- PIQ_APPR_SELF_SERVICE_APP, and there it couldn't take the scale of the assessment.
How can I grade my assessments with different scale?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards
    Ayse

    Hi Rob,
First of all thanks for your answer,
I checked what you said, unfortunately it still doesn't take the assigned scale from assessments. Actually, my customer want to grade modules on the different way.  The top appraisal type of module must be A+/- scale, but the rest of all appraisal types must be 1-100 scale, because of this I thought if I  have assigned 1-100 point scale to the appraisal types through assessments and business event types except top appraisal type, it would  be done.
Do you have any suggestions for this situation?
    Best regards.

  • PO Partial confirmation Quantity not updated for non-catalog items in SRM

    Hi Experts,
Partial Confirmation plus Partial Rejection from Ariba(Suppliers network) could not be processed.
    Steps to Reproduce:
    1) Create a purchase order.
    2) Confirm some part of the quauntity and reject the balance part in Ariba.
    3) Open the link in SRM and click Copy push button.
    4) Click on Process PO and check PO, the PO is not updated with the changes done in Ariba
    Expected Result:
PO should update the changes done in Ariba.
Here when part quantity is confirmed and part is rejected at Ariba, its sending a POR but SRM is not updating anything for non-catalog items when POR is copied onto PO.But where as  in the Catalog items partially confirmed POR is copied onto PO.
kindly give your valuable inputs to poceed furthur.

    Hi,
I'm not clear you issue. Is it SC -> PR(backend) -> PO(backend) classic scenario ? or You just created a PO in backend system?
BBP_GET_STATUS_2 will update SC follow-on doc information from backend.

  • Quantity based discounts, apart from scales?

    Hi,
Another question that I could not readily answer.
Apart from using "Scales" is there any other way of giving "Quantity" based discounts to a customer.
Just for the sake of clarity.
Normally, we would maintain scales and give the customer scaled based discounts, right?
    Example:
001 -100 lets say 5% discount or 5 USD discount (whatever)
101 -150 lets say 6% discount or 6 USD discount (whatever)
151 -200 lets say 7% discount or 7 USD discount (whatever)
My question, is there a way other than above mentioned example(scales) of giving the customer a "Quantity" based discounts.
    Thanks in advance,
    Raj SAP SD_Newbie

The mentioned approach is the easiest way.
    Other approaches would be,
    1) manually adding discounts in the pricing procedure by the user when he/she process a sales order.
    2) add a routine in alternative calculation type column against the discount condition type in the pricing procedure. The discounts details can be stored in a z-table and the routine can read the discount detail from this table.

  • BOM Items Check for Partial order quantity

    Hi
For weekly shopfloor planning I need to check the material availability for a partial quantity of the order.
For eg. I have a Production order for 2000pcs but I need to plan for a week only 500pcs. I want to check the BOM items availability for only 500pcs of BOM Header material. Need multiple material - quantity selection option also.
Is there any customized availability check in standard SAP?
    Regards
    Krishnaraj

    Hi,
Please check for the indicator "confirm available partial quantity" at Production scheduling profile configuration.
In OPKP for the plant and production scheduling profile combination --> under material availability check tab --> select the option "confirm available partial quantity"
It Determines that all components are comitted with the same percentage rate during an availability check.
When you have set this indicator, if only a partial quantity can be committed for one component, then only partial quantities will be committed for all components during an availability check.
    Example
    Order quantity 100 PC:
    Committed quantity
Requirement ATP quantity not set set
    Component A 200 PC 300 PC 200 PC (100%) 80 PC (40%)
    Component B 100 PC 40 PC 40 PC (40%) 40 PC (40%)
    Component C 50 PC 200 PC 50 PC (100%) 20 PC (40%)
Since only 40% of component B can be committed, also only 40% of component A and C is committed when the indicator is set.
By setting the indicator, you can therefore ensure that orders are always only committed to the extent that they are also to be produced. In the example, 40% of the order can be produced for the requirements date. In addition, the quantities of component A and C that are not reserved can be assigned to other orders, which as a result may then also be produced.
    thanks and regards

  • Feature request: Scale to fit (Smart Scale)

    Hello,
When I either drag a layer from one doc to another, when I drop it, or even via copy and paste, it would be nice to have a SCALE TO FIT option.
Often when working with different resolution images, you still need to make them fit. Either scaling down to fit target document size, or scale up. Kind of like a Super Smart Object.
If you have different ratios, i.e 4:3, 16:9 etc. you can have option to either scale to fit width, or height. or simply scale to fit 100% in the canvas.
Very much like we have in most print dialog boxes.
It could be a keyboard comand or even contextual menu: SCALE TO FIT.
A selected object or layer can be right clicked: scale to fit. Would help workflow. Would be easy to impliment.
Option: Constrain Proportions check box. example, if I am bringing in say a texture I want to use with blend modes. this option would scale the X and Y to fit the canvas.
    Thank you!

  • Usage of both salary scale structure and pay scale structure

    Hi,
    Background
In most of Western Europe, normally the salary ranges are set by the union agreements.  At the same time, if Job Pricing using data from salary survey companies are used, the salary range (depending on what is requested from the survey companies) might not be the same with the union salary ranges.
    Questions:
    1.  Is it possible to have 2 salary ranges stored in the system:
         a.  Salary range from the union for day to day and legal purposes
         b.  Salary range from the survey data for comparison purposes
I cannot find the solution in standard SAP because you have the choice of either checking the salary scale structure or the pay scale structure.
If I use salary scale structure, I can record minimum and maximum but not reference salary.  That would affect my 'Salary Data' iView in MSS.  However, if I use pay scale structure, I can record minimum, maximum and reference pay and the display in 'Salary Data' iView and the compa-ratio calculation would be accurate.
And in ECM, it is pay scale structure that is used all the time.  Is there any way to have both scales recorded at the same time?
Any help or pointers would be grateful (and points rewarded, of course).
    Thanks,
    MJ Sherdill

    Hi,
Talk to the client about their future plans.
Think about requirements that are going to arise in the Future:
Depending on the Area /s- create PS Area/s
Depending on the companies/ - Create new PS Types
Also Create PS Groups as per the employee Grades.
If you have got time then it is better to create a proper structure Ese you can go for ONE PS Area, PSA Type & PS Group.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • "Graduate- interval scale" i.e. Scale type D, Can it cover the many SO qty?

    Hi All,
*Business wants, the Sales Order qty entered in many sales orders to be considered and given the Graduate -Interval Scale for the line items, but as per my testing this applies only for single line item in that SO!
If any one knows this can be met somehow, please share your ideas?
u201CGraduate- interval scaleu201D i.e. Scale type D, this needs to be maintained in condition type customization only!
    e.g.: (For Customer/Material Disc. with condition type: K005) the Scale is set as below;
    to 100 Qty 5Rs/ea Disc.
    to 200 Qty 10Rs/ea Disc.
    to 500 qty 12Rs/ea Disc.
    If Iu2019ve two SO,
    1. 23456 with Disc. line item qty as 50
    2. 23457 with Disc. line item qty as 150,
The Scale should apply accordingly, i.e In First SO, for 50 Qty the Disc should be 50*5= 500 Rs,
And for Second SO, out of 150, first 50 qty should be applied with 5Rs Disc. and remaining 100 with 10Rs Disc.
Hope you understand the requirement here, let me know so that i can explain you more in case required.
The above request holds good if the single SO with one line item in it. but not if 2 SO thereu2026
your feedback much appreciated, Thank youu2026
    Best Regards,
    Sid.

    Hi,
The Graduated Scale type configuration will not solve this requirement.
It can be handled with a 'Alt Cal type' pricing routine.

  • When to scale up and/or scale out?

When do you guys scale up/out, and how do you justify it?
We have a small farm with a number of new projects we expect to have in production this year. I've been tasked with assessing our current environment, providing recommendations, and performing any scale out Sharepoint configuration.
I’m reviewing Microsoft’s capacity management and performance testing documentation. I want requests for architecture changes to be as quantifiable as possible, but I'm finding them incredibly frustrating.
I've checked our current server performance. SQL server's RAM is maxed 90% of the time which, I'm assured by my network guys, is normal for SQL boxes. There are occasional CPU spikes but nothing major.
I also took a look at the CA Admin Report Library for Crawl Rates, Query Latency, etc, but need something to compare against.
    Any guidance/recommendations greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Scott

Fist, let's look at your immediate concern.
High memory use on SQL is a normal sign of a healthy SQL box. i.e. you want SQL to store commonly accessed data in memory so it's not pulling from disk. SQL will try to use as much memory as it can to achieve this goal.
High memory use on SQL is a normal sign of an unhealthy SQL box when you're seeing lots of page swaps to disk. If the server is constantly caching data from memory to disk this suggests the server needs more memory.
Microsoft has a good document for troubleshooting performance. Check out Monitoring and maintaining SharePoint Server 2010.
The trick with the documentation about performance is every environment is different. What may be unacceptable performance in a farm that serves thousands or users may be completely tolerable and reasonable for one that serves a small organization or department.
You're not going to find specific guidance from Microsoft along the lines of "if you see CPU at ABC then add a CPU. If you see CPU at XYZ then add a server" because the decision is more nuanced than simply looking at a value.
There are lots of great guides that others in the community have published that can provide some real-world context to how you can monitor performance for scale.
