Define Max hits in F4 help:

Hi All,
I am using fuction F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST for F4 help. In my case internal table having more than 5000 records. I want to give optiosn on screen to choose the used for maximum hits. Please let me know what are the parameter i have to pass in function to provide the require option.
I am using below piece of code.

Dispay the source code of this function module in Se37.. you will notice that the following is commented out..
CALLCONTROL-MAXRECORDS = 500.
if u want to pass only 200 records to the internal table instead of all records.
deleting lines in your program is probably the only option..
ie
data w_lines type i.
w_lines = lines( itab ).
delete itab from 201 to w_lines.

if you are using the FM F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST there you have the parameter MAXRECORDS there you can set.

In CRM 5.0, t-code CRMC_IC_AUI_PROFILE is used but the maximum value is 2147483647 hopefully that would suffice.

SE16 restricted to a pre-defined max number of hits

Hello,
our consultants use sometime Tcode SE16 for end-users support purposes.
I would like to restrict the output of SE16 on any tables to a predefined maximum number of hits (5000 or 10000 for examples) to avoid huge selections with bad performance on the server.
Do you know any way to restrict it with a standard or custom tool ?

The global setting of this property can be found at: menu Help -> Settings -> choose tabstrip "F4 Help"
There you can define the max. number of hits to be displayed. This setting is valid for all DB selections. The users have to set this property on their own.
NOTE: The menu Help is found on any screen.

per default the maximum count of hits in a search help is 500. I know one can change that directly in the WD4A application, on the search help popup at settings. But is it possible to set this count to another value directly in SAP, system wide, for every user?

You are correct that it appears that you can't change all of the system-wide defaults. You can change the Maximum Width and the Display type but not the max. number of hits to be displayed.
I did some digging and this value appears to be controlled by a constant c_maxrecords in the class CL_F4CUSTOM. I tried changing this value after it is set in the CLASS_CONSTRUCTOR using the debugger. It actually is possible, but only up to a value of 999. If you go larger, you get a field overflow on the screen display field - so I assume the designer of this functionality never really intended for customers to change the value of this constant.

IMac G5 gray screen on startup and fan maxes out!! Help!

I've heard this problem quite a bit on several forums, but have yet to find an answer. I Need help!! My iMac G5 delays on startup ( i hit the button, and startup doesn't actually start for a minute or 2), and when it does, i get the gray screen, and then after another minute, the fan goes crazy and maxed out until I manually shut down. I reset the memory, and check the LED lights, (all came on normally). What's going on here!? I appreciate any help

If the troubleshooting solutions listed in Mac 101 were of no help & you found no solutions to your problem(s) listed in the various Knowledge Base Articles see if the following suggestions are of any help:
Except for the keyboard & mouse, disconnect all devices/peripherals from your computer.
Step 1: Restart into Safe Mode by holding down the Shift key during startup. The comp will run a complete & lengthy file systtem check, then start up w/only the required kerenel extensions & w/o running any Startup items tthat you installed.
If you are running OS 10.4 it will also perform some font finagling.
Try starting up normally again. If you are still stalling, restart in Safe Mode & move on to Step 2...........
Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode
Step 2: Open Library>Startup items folder-the root level Library, not the one in your user name folder.
Look for potentially problematic 3rd party items such as virus scanning software components, etc. Remove 1 or more items to a location outside the Library folder, such as the Desktop, then restart normally & see if your Mac stalls. It it does, try removing all the items in the Startup items folder & restart. If all’s now well, place the items back into the Startup items folder 1 by 1, restarting each time you put one back. If and/or when the stall resurfaces, you just identified the faulty component.
If the above does not work, then it’s time to move on to Step 3.................
Step 3: WARNING-This step can be tedious-removing .plist files from the /Library/Preferences folder.
Remove the entire Preferences folder from the Library folder on your startup drive then place the files back 1 by 1 until you see the problem return. *The Mac will automatically create a new Preferences folder in the Library folder*
Alternatively, you can take half of the items out (all non-Apple .plist file, for example), restart to see if your Mac stalls, then move to a smaller set of items, repeatingn the process until the culprit is found.
Or you can use Preferential Treatment which is a FREE utility that does all the work for you.

Overclocking Mpower Max Z87 i7 4770k Help

I can only hit 4.3 Ghz with 1.248vcore.. gets hot too.. lower to mid 80s on full load prime 95 with kraken x60. Temps got noticeably hotter with new bios 1.6 actually. I even cleaned off the old paste and used noctua nht-1 just in case it was the paste but it wasn't. Weird.
My chip is a Malaysia Batch L315 =(
This sucks.. Anyone with better success with same batch? or maybe some helpful tips?

Here you go. New UEFI/BIOS version seems to have improved what can be achieved on pure Auto settings. It was stable all the way to 45X on Auto, but no significant performance benefit was noted.
Next 2 images, idle, and the second one is the full load test running IBT.
Next is IBT at 43X and then 47X. Note the slight decline in performance.
43X and 2666 is definately ideal with this particular setup. During the IBT test, one core did go a bit past the recommended 72C maximum, but for regular real world stress, it's doubtful it will ever get that hot under sustained load. All of those fancy settings this particular board has with this CPU exemplar in my opinion, for the most part, are pretty much useless using conventional cooling solutions.
Added: Just played some AC III and Metro 2034 with no problems. All seems very stable. Too bad I can't keep it.

How do you use user defined error messages in Value Help?

I'm currently working on a Modifiable Value Help Selector in Web Dynpro Java, and I want to use a user defined error message when I validate the values entered by a user. Currently, it's returning its default error message ("Character <string> does not match...").
Since the project requires a different error message, is there a way to override the default error message and use my defined error message instead?

I am not sure why message area is showing both Custom and inbuilt messages but you can try the following:
i guess you must be using reportContextAttribute exception for showing Error messages on the input fields as well.in that case you can disable the message area so messages will appear only on the Context level ie; on input fields.
For other messages apart from validation messages you can enable the message area before reporting the exception.
make sure the boolean context variable which will be used for enabling and disabling the message area should have Readonly property set as true.
I am not sure whether this is the only solution for this but you can try and see if it works.

Combo box with multiple variables pre populating multiple fields and max value validation script help

I am creating a pdf form that will be used as a calculator, and my javascript knowledge is pretty rudimentary. I can do the simple things, some of what I need to do is over my head.
1. I believe I need to use a combo box to pre populate certain fields. I have 13 variables in the dropdown to choose from, and whatever the client chooses will pre populate three other fields (and each of the 13 variables will populate those three fields differently). I'm not exactly sure how to go about doing this. Is it custom keystroke script or does it require a document script? Also, I'm guessing that whatever script will be a series of if/then statements, correct?
2. Once all the fields have been populated (be it pre population or filled in by the customer), I need to calculate the answer which is not my main problem—I already have the proper calculations in place and they work. The problem is that the answer has a maximum value even if the actual value goes over that max number. So, the actual answer is 14 but the max value can only be 12. How do I get the calculation to replace that actual number (14) with the max number (12)? Is that in the validation tab or should that go elsewhere?
I feel like I know just enough to be dangerous but not terribly effective. Any help is appreciated.

You need to replace "Text1" with the name of the field in your form.

Sound Problems with MSI 648 Max ( MS-6585 ) Board - Help !!!

i have the MSI Mainboard: MSI 648 Max ( MS-6585 ) and when I put on the microphone i have a bad sound on my soundboxes like scratching or beeping.
I have installed a new BIOS update and new Sounddrivers.

MSI 648 MAX Red diagnostic leds Help

I have the 648 MAX mainboard with MSI G4MX440-VTD8X. The CPU is P4 2.4 Ghz PC 533 and TwinMos DDR-DIMM PC3200 512MB DDR CL2.5 in Bank 2 . OS XP prof. Final ed.
The two upper diagnostic led are weak red ??? I have checked the hard disc settings several times, but nothing is wrong there ??
I have never seen a green diagnostic led, the other is are not lighting at all (black), only red ones ???
I have looked from power on to working pc and thy are just blubering a litle to finaly two upper red ones ???
This is the hottest hardware you can get so I set the Bios to opimal fast settings, but then all was black?? I hac to use the bios reset dip switch to get it back to working condition. What is wrong ?? It says on your web site that the mainboard do support DDR 400 ??

It's seams like you have had the PC up and running, and that's good.
Regarding the diagnostic led's I can only suggest that you double check the connection to the board. (They all should either be green or red when booting).
Even though it's hot hardware, loading the optimal fast setting is not the same as getting the best settings for your system.
Regarding DDR400 and 648Max they didn't officially support it when they released the board, but they now do. I would suggest you check your version of the board. (I have ver 1.0 produced sept. 02, and my DDR400 has to be run as DDR333 to function properly).
You don't say anything about your psu, but it should be above 200W combined.

29 Hits but no help...Can anyone assist me with this? Surely someone knows?

Anyone that can help it is truly appreciated. I just can't figure out how the ipod updates. I have 3 folders with different music...oldies, favorites, showtunes. I keep an exact copy of the playlist in I-Tunes. Let's just say I have 50 songs on my ipod in "Showtunes." I added 25 songs in I-tunes and added those 25 songs to my playlist. I then update my ipod by pulling the playlist from I-tunes onto the i-pod playlist. It says it is updating the 25 songs only. When I view the ipod thru itunes it has the new 25 songs and duplicates for all the others. When I unplug the ipod and view the songs there are a few duplilcates, but not all the same ones and not as many. I go thru and remove the extras on my ipod. Now there is basically just one song of each, but there are like 5 songs at the top not in any order and then it starts alphabatizing the rest. Could someone please tell me what the correct way to add music to my ipod is? Can I just pull over the new songs onto the ipod and will the old music stay just as it is? I was under the impression that i had to "Sync" it each time...whatever that is. Why can't this be simple and you just add or remove your songs you want. Please help, I am so frustrated. Very confusing post, but I think I know what you are looking for. There are two ways to update your music on your ipod: manually and automatically. Automatically is probably the easiest and the best for your situation.
First, plug in your ipod to your computer and itunes should open up. Click on your ipod in itunes under devices. There should be 5 tabs at the top of the page (Summary, Music, Podcasts, Photos, Contacts).
On the Summary tab make sure that Manually manage music checkbox is NOT selected.
Click on Music tab ensure that the Sync music checkbox is checked and the All songs and playlists radiobutton is also selected.
Click on Apply at the bottom right of the screen.
From the File Menu select Sync "(name of your ipod)" and let the system sync it up.
When you make changes to the playlists, just make them in iTunes and when you are ready to transfer to your iPod, just plug in your iPod and it will sync automatically. If you are already plugged in and you make changes to iTunes, then go to File>Sync"(name of your iPod)" and sync from there.
Don't worry about making changes to your iPod manually. Do all changes in iTunes and let the computer sync them up.

Definately Gonna Need Some Advanced Help Here...

Hey guys, I've had an iPod video for about a year now with minimal problems, but all of a sudden it messed up. The screen just shows random lines and different shapes in different colors, but when I move the click wheel, I can still here that clicking sound thingy that it makes. I've already tried resetting and restoring my iPod and neither has worked. Please someone help me. I NEED MY MUSIC!!!

They will repair the iPod if there does not appear to be accidental damage. If the iPod itself does not have a crack on the LCD screen on the front, perhaps it was the inner screen. (If that makes any sense.) Sometimes, if the inner screen breaks you will see shapes with colors and such as you mentioned.
Are you within the 1st year of owning the iPod? If you are, I'd recommend setting up for a repair (as long as it wasn't caused by accidental damage (as mentioned by Johnathan Burger).
