Defining Varient and Work Schedule

While configuring TM, I am stuck @ defining Variant. Can anyone tell me how to go about it? And also it gives an option of Rule in which we have to enter digit or alphanumeric value...so do i need to enter the ref which i created while defining break schedule?

Hi,
DWS Variant allows you to define several different versions of the same daily work schedule.
By using variants you can define shorter working hours on Fridays or on days preceding public holidays,
You can create DWS Variant Rule with Variant A to assign saturdays half day work schedule without creating a new DWS. Similarly you can also create variants to apply rules on days preceding public holidays. The system dynamically applies these rules when that rule situation/condition arise.
You can create different DWS variant rules using different variants

    After, when we set Work Schedule Rules and Work Schedules. Do we need create the same number of rules?
    For instance, in Period Work Schedule, do we need create 12 rules like TTLM_1, TTLM_2, ... TTLM_12?
    Or is enough create only one rule for TTLM?

    --- Set work schedule rules and work schedules
    Last step will be
    --->generate work schedules manually ---> Create work schedule -->click create all --->you will start seeing a calender for every month you specified.
    Eg: you specify that you need work schedule from march 2008 to Dec 2008, first march work schedule is generated.
    Save it. Hit enter to generate April calender and so on. Keep saving till the end.

    The access to maintain holiday calendar and generation of wrk schedules could be given to either personnel adminsitrator or time administrator with appropriate authorizations...normally one or 2 power used would be given access like you have mentioned.

    Holiday Calendar
    Transaction Code: SCAL
    Holiday calendar comprises of list of paid holidays to be given to employees on festivals by the company.
    Personnel Area/SubArea Groupings
    Go to SPRO --> Time Management --->Work Schedules --> Personnel SubArea Groupings
    Maintain perosnnel area/Subarea groupings for work schedule.
    i.e. Suppose in Mumbai you have WS = GEN ( 10 to 6) and in Chennai you have WS = NORM ( 8 to 4 )
    Work Schedule
    Go to SPRO --> Time Management --->Work Schedules -->Daily Work Schedules
    Go to SPRO --> Time Management --->Work Schedules -->Period Work Schedules
    Daily Work Schedule is actually your office timings with breaks (paid /unpaid) i.e. Planned Working Time which is then included
    in Period Work Schedule to make a week ( M T W T F S S )
    Daily Work Schedule (i.e. Day) -
    > Period Work Schedule (i.e. Week)
    Work Schedule Rules
    Go to SPRO --> Time Management --->Work Schedules -->Work Schedule Rules and Work Schedules
    After doing above mentioned configurations,maintain employee group/subgroup groupings in which you have to define which calendar is applicable for which type of employees for which work schedule.
    You will maintain this work schedule in infotype 0007 - Planned Working Time of employee via transaction code - PA30

    I am aware that X stands for that it is relevant to the calendar and that 1 = Monday - 7 = Sunday.

  • Error "No entry in table T551A" while creating set work schedule rule.

    I am getting following error while creating set work schedule rule.
    Error "No entry in table T551A" for key 22 BBB [ here BBBB is my period work schedule]
    The actual prob is i configured all the necessary steps but when i tried to create work schedule rule im getting this error. Also, in the same screen there is one field DWS grouping initially value in this is 00 and gread mode. But after giving ES grp, holiday calander ID etc etc when i try to save that screen that value is chainging to 22 from 00.
    My ES grop=2 and PS grop=2 . Is that value is my ES and PS grouping..?? or some other thing.

    3. Define Break Schedules
    4. Define Daily Work Schedules
    5. Define Period Work Schedules
    6. Define Employee Subgroup Groupings
    7. Define Groupings for the Public Holiday Calendar
    8. Set Work Schedule Rules and Work Schedules
    All of them belong to TIME MANAGEMENT. I think you miss some steps above.

  • Substitutions display in Personal work schedule

    Hi,
    I have a client that captures several substitutions for an employee for a specific day or period. Of the four substitution types, 3 substitutions are marked with the reduced working hours flag. This in turn, allows the client to capture several substitutions and to run the personal work schedule report successfully.
    They now want to run the report displaying all substitutions, which would require de-activating the RWH flag. If this is done, then the personal work schedule report displays an error message for the days that more than one substitution has been captured.
    My question is, how can I display more than one shift substitution on one specific day within the personal work schedule without doing development.

           Group  Personnel Subareas for the Daily Work Schedule
           Define Employee Subgroup Groupings
           Define Groupings for the Public Holiday Calendar
           Set Work Schedule Rules and Work Schedules
           Define Counting Classes for the Period Work Schedule
           Set Personnel Subarea Groupings for Time Recording
    2. In case if the error is coming for one employee just check the latest IT 0000 record and see if the WSR assigned is valid for the respective PSA and ESG's else neglect this point.

    I am learning SAP HCM ECC 6.0 at the moment, I have created Personnel Area, Personnel Subarea however when I am trying to u201CGroup Personnel Subarea for Work Scheduleu201D the newly created Personnel Areas and Personnel Subarea are not appearing the list to group them for work schedule.
    No such problem persist while Defining employee subgroup under work schedule rules and work schedule in IMG.
    Experts could you please suggest me the solution to this problem? Is there any integration missing?

    The problem is been resolved by editing in Table "V_T500P" (Country grouping), now newly created PAs and PSAs are appearing in the list and I can "Group personnel subarea for work schedule"
    I did the the basic configuration of PAs, PSAs, EG, ESG and I assigned them to company code however PAs and PSAs were not appearing in the list to group them for Work Schedule. The problem is been resolved now by editing in Table.
    I really appreciate your help here.

    There is a button in the planning board "alternative working schedule. If I highlight one resource, Ican define an alternative working schedule for this resource, based on a period HR-subtype and daily working schedule.
    My question is, if you assign this alternative working schedule to a resource, then the display and calculation of the availibility will be changed for the respective period. A business case for this could be, that you have to schedule more work to a technician than his availibility allows. The benefit compared to a attendance time allocation is, that you can create a daily work schdule and assign it for a period instead of creating attendances manually. Is that correct?
    Do you have guuys have some practical cases, where this functionality is used? Are there any "bad consequences" of the usage and can I just use it permanently and then remove the "transfer availiblity" tag from the HR Transfer report?

    Hi,
    As you said the purpose of alernative workschedule and the HR report are same. There are no impacts if you use this button. Apart from the actual workschedule if you want to assign some more work to a technician you can do through this. This will not greyed out the planningboard for that period. on the top of availability in the gantt chart, it will be appear as a bar to identify the type of work you has assigned.

  • Rule Variants for work schedule

    Hi All,
    How to create rule variants for the below work schedule rules
    A Shift timings 06 am to 15.00 Hrs and Sunday holiday
    B Shift timings 15:00 to 23 Hrs and Monday holiday
    C Shift Timings 23:00 to 06:00 and Tuesday holiday.
    I have created break Schedule and work schedule rules and
    I want to assign rule variants for the above work schedules.
    This is for Indian scenario.
    Kindly help me out in this regard

    What exactly you are looking for rule variant coz variant is for a rule which assists to define few custom process like reduced working hours, conditions on current day holiday class next day holiday class and weekday.
    Please brief the requirement.

  • Regenerate work schedules

    Dear All,
    Can some one guide me in the process of regenerating work schedules? I have made some changes in the customization for defining rules for variants and I want the system to regenerate work schedules based on this change. Since nothing the generate work schedules selection screen is changed, It is not allowing me to generate work schedules saying that the work schedules are already present.
    How do I re generate the work schedules?

    Here is the steps to follow generating/regenerating work schedule rules.
    Set work schedule rules and work schedules: Path: SPRO-> Personnel Time Mgmt-> Set work schedule rules and work schedules
    Generate work schedules manually: Path: SPRO-> Personnel Time Mgmt-> Generate work schedules manually (PT01)
    Generate work schedules in batch: Path: SPRO-> Personnel Time Mgmt-> Generate work schedules in batch (OG00) Otherwise use this program: RPTSHF00
    You will have to check in PA0007 for at least one employee from each employee sub grouping to know whether work schedules are generated properly or not.
    Moreover if you want to check more details check these tables (T550A, T508A, T552A)results.

                                While customizing attendances and absences we have to define the periodic work schedule with the counting classes. And this counting classes are used in the counting rule. Can anyone please tel me what is the need of defining periodic work schedules with the counting classes.

    if there are multiple PWS in an organisation and if the client requires the absences to be counted in different manner depending on the PWS. this counting class can be used.
    use the appropriate check box in counting rule.
