Deleting Multiple Windows Partitions

So i put two partitions of windows on my mac, one using boot camp and one using vmware fusion. Once i connected to the internet on both of them, i was hit by some MAJOR viruses. I am done with windows and want to delete all partitions and be clean. I cant seem to figure out how to delete them though. When i open the bootcamp assistant, it doesnt give me the option to restore or remove partitions, only installation. I saw that you might have to use disk utility to delete them, but i the partitions dont show up on the hard drive, only the "mac" partition. i know that the partitions are still there because i can still use them. How do i get these darn things off my computer without reformatting it? Is that what it comes down to? Also, i heard something about first and second disk partition and that can make a difference, but i have no idea what they are talking about. A little insight would help a poor fellow out. Thanks!

You cannot use Boot Camp once you change the number of partitions on the drive. Boot Camp only works on a drive that has one partition prior to creating the Boot Camp partition. Now that you created a third partition you removed the ability of Boot Camp to delete its partition. You did read the Boot Camp documentation?
You need to backup your OS X partition by creating a bootable backup to an external Firewire drive. Then repartition your hard drive and clone your system back from the external drive. You can create the clones using the Restore option of Disk Utility. Be sure you use DU to repair the hard drive and permissions before cloning. Your external drive should be erased prior to cloning.

There is no system like Acronis for the Mac platform. You can try using the buiilt in Disk Utility to create an Image of the complete Mac drive but I have found that this does not work very well as on tryiing to restore it gives errors sometimes.
You can use SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner to create a bootable Clone of your system partition. But that is only for the System partition and not the complete drive.
If you use Boot Camp to install Windows on your Mac neither of those two programs will clone the Windows side.
Neither will Disk utility as Mac's can not create or write to a NTFS partition. So some other program is need for that.

I accidentally deleted my windows partition

I had created a 100GB partition for windows on my 500GB hard disk from BootCamp and accidentally deleted the windows partition and I've got that 100GB free that I cannot use anymore. The partition cannot be resized and that's it. Please suggest a way in which I can get rid of that free space and resize my hard disk without losing ant data.

You are telling us you read and tried the normal methods?
Boot Camp or Taskbar. Option on restart. "x" on startup. And none of those work.

After a month use of windows, i am finding it more useful to use my mac so i have made the decision to delete my windows partition.
How would i "completely" delete my Windows Partition?
This is what i was planning on doing (Please correct any problems):
Disk Utility -> disk0s3 (windows) -> Erase (Zero out data)
Is this right or is there a more efficient way of doing this, i want to "completely remove everything in the partition, which is why i have chosen to "zero out" data.

OK. A normal erase doesn't actually erase the file data stored on a drive. Instead, it just removes the small amount of info that tells the file system where to find that data on the drive & frees up that space so that the file system can use it for data from other files. This is much quicker than actually overwriting the file data with some other data pattern. (There really is no such thing as an "erase" in the normal sense of "remove" or "rub out" -- all the drive can do is write something over the old data to obliterate it.)
As long as the file system is working correctly, this is all that is needed to effectively "erase" the file, since whatever data patterns that space on the drive contains is treated as if it contained nothing. Special purpose forensic applications can recover some or all of that data by ignoring the file system & scouring the drive, looking for "orphaned" chunks of data & reassembling them into files. (It is a little bit like putting a filing cabinet back in order after someone has emptied all the pages & file folders into the trash.)
The OS offers a set of security measures to prevent this, the simplest of which is to "zero out" the data by overwriting it with an all zero data pattern. If you are not concerned about someone recovering sensitive data "erased" from your hard drive with one of these specialized applications, you do not need to use these measures, which are time consuming.

Delete a Windows partition

I am trying to delete a Windows partition I create with Boot Camp.   It does not show up in Disk Utilities under my Hard Drive.
Boot Camp Assistant does not give me any options either.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Will upgrading from Lion to Mountain Lion delete my Windows partition (bootcamp)?

On my other computer I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion, and the windows vista partition was completely deleted. I was wondering if I upgrade from Lion to Mountain Lion on my other mac with Windows 7 will it be affected, or in other words, is Mountain Lion Bootcamp compatable with WIndows 7. Should I save it to an external hard drive?

No OS X installer deletes a Windows partition automatically. There is no reason for a Mountain Lion installer to do so when upgrading from Lion.
Nevertheless, having backups is always a good idea no matter what. If you don't have them, then this is a good time for them.

The disk space disappears after bootcamp failed in deleting the windows partition.

Hardware: Macbook Pro 700
OS: Lion v10.7
1. I installed Windows 7 in my mac. The space of Windows partition is 80G.
2. Some dlls of Windows will always disappear and at last the Windows cannot be started successfully.
3. Yesterday I updated Lion and started the bootcamp to remove the Windows partition. But bootcamp throwed an error(I forget what the error is).
4. I started bootcamp again to try to remove the Windows partition, but there is only create Windows partition in the options.
5. I started the Disk Utilities and verified the disk. The reported result was that there were some errors in disk.
6. So I restarted the machine and pressed COMMAND+R and entered the Disk Utilities to repair the disk.
7. After repairing the disk, there are no errors in disk now. But 80G space disappears.
Now my whole disk is still 320G, but the mac partition is 238G.
How can I repair it? Please help me.

Delete Multiple Windows phones from Device Manager

I attach many windows phones to Windows 7 and it is a pain to remove hundreds from the device manager one at a time.
Is there any way to remove all of them at once? Perhaps similar to how you can remove many printers using Cmd (wmic printer where "Local='True'" delete)?
Please tell me there is an easier way!

Upgrading MacBook Pro Hard Drive - cannot get Windows partition to work

The other day, I decided to replace my 320 GB hard drive with a 1 TB hard drive/SSD hybrid. I did a little bit of research about cloning the drive before that, and it seemed pretty straight forward to clone the OS X partition, but I wasn't really sure about cloning my Windows partition. Originally, my 320 GB hard drive had 2 partitions: 220 GB for OS X Mavericks, and 100 GB for Windows 8.1.
I bought the new drive with an external enclosure and plugged it in. The first thing I did was open Disk Utility and partitioned the new hard drive (750 GB HFS+, 250 GB NTFS). I figured I would need to partition it first and clone each partition separately. I used Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the OS X partition, and it worked with no problem (I immediately could restart my computer and boot with the partition on the new drive, while it was still plugged in by USB).
Next, I tried using CCC to clone the Windows partition the same way (I realize now that CCC cannot do this). 7 hours later, the cloning was complete, but there was an error that a couple files couldn't be copied. I tried copying them manually but it didn't work. I wasn't sure if the Windows partition would work, so to find out, I switched the hard drives and put the old 320 GB one in the external enclosure. I booted my computer and it booted the new OS X partition with no problem. It also mounted the Windows partition that I cloned with CCC, and I can access all of the files in it. However, when I restarted and held down "option", it would not let me boot the Windows partition.
After some googling, I realized CCC is not able to clone a bootcamp partition and make it bootable, so I opened disk utility and deleted the Windows partition (using the minus button), then recreated it (using the plus button). I downloaded Winclone (paid $30), which supposedly can clone a bootcamp partition. I opened Winclone and it seemed pretty simple: you just choose the source partition on the left, and the target on the right. I plugged in the USB enclosure with my old hard drive, and in the Winclone menu the original Windows partition popped up. I chose that as my source, and chose to copy it to the new NTFS partition on the new drive that I created. I left it on overnight, and when I woke up it said it was completed.
I now had two drives mounted: my NTFS partition that I created, and a new one that said "EFI". I have no idea what EFI is. My NTFS partition looks like it has all of the files from my original Windows partition on it; however, when I restart it does not allow me to boot with it, although I now have the option to boot EFI. When I select EFI, I am given the Windows 8.1 start up screen (with the blue Windows logo), but then an error message pops up saying something like there is an issue and it needs to restart (it restarted before I could read the whole thing).
When I boot in OS X, I only have the NTFS partition (with all my Windows files) mounted, and no EFI. When I restart, I can still boot EFI, but I always get the same message and then it restarts.
Is there any way I can fix my Windows partition so that it works the same way it did on my old drive? What is EFI? Should I delete it? How can I make the NTFS partition, which seems to have all of my files, bootable? I only want 2 partitions: one for OS X, and one for Windows. Also, can I do all of this without having to reinstall either of the operating systems?

Hmm, that's a good question!
I headed over to the twocanoes website (the folks that make Winclone) and their guide mentions something about running Sysprep before you create the Windows image. If you skipped that step, that may be why you're having issues

Windows Partition Problem.....

As I am sure you all have seen this many times before....I've tried looking at other discussion threads to help solve my problem but they either didnt have the exact same problem or I couldnt fully understand the answers. Myself, Im rather inexperienced with Mac and its OS so Layman's terms usually work best with me. Im running Leopard right now, whatever the latest version is; 10.6.8 I believe. I'm trying to run a parallel now since something is apparently wrong with the sound on my XP disk when I installed it, twice. This has been a long and drawn out process for me please bare with me, for I may ask some stupid questions....

So I've deleted the Windows partition in Boot Camp Assisstant successfully, however, a version on Windows (named: Untitled) is still showing up in my finder and when I hold down the Option key on the start up. I tried erasing it with Disk Utility, it looked like it started to do something, but all it did was remount it. Now, when I try to go through BCA its gives me the message: "The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows." No clue as to what in THEE **** its talking about. Of course I've tried ejecting it but it doesnt get rid of it nor does it gives me my 99GB of Mac OS back.
Be honest, did I **** up or did I **** up bad somewhere down the line while installing windows? And what (if anything) can I do?

Sounds like something went wrong when you sued the BootCamp Assistant to remove the Windows partition since usually that also reassigns the used diskpace back to OSX.
1) boot your Mac from your OSX install DVD
2) choose your language and then 'ignore' (cancel) the installation
3) from the Top Menu (Utilities) start Disk Utility (DU)
4) in DU click on your harddisk (not any partition) in the left pane (the first item listed)
5) in the right pane use the 'Partition'-Tab
6) click to highlight on the ex-Windows partition you want to delete
7) click on the small '-' Button at the bottom
That should delete your former Windows partition
After that's done successfully
8) Drag the partition separator line until it encompasses the entire drive and then select apply.
9) Quit Disk Utility
10) reboot your Mac from your harddisk.
Since you are 'fumbling' with your OSX partition you should consider having/making a backup of it before trying the a.m. procedure. Just in case.

Windows partition disappearing - twice

Is this a common problem?
I installed a Bootcamp partition and put Windows XP on it. No problem installing and using Windows for many months. Then one day, it just disappeared - the Windows disk no longer appeared on the desktop and the option to boot from it disappeared from the startup disk in settings. The hard disk space occupied by Windows still seemed to be there i.e. it wasn't available in Finder. So, I used Bootcamp assistant to delete the Windows partition and started again, re-installed Windows XP and thought I'd sorted it until today when I tried to restart the Mac in Windows but the Mac didn't like it for some reason and hung. A quick switch off/on and the Mac restarted in Mac OS and again the Windows partition disappeared although the space it occupied is still there.
Does this make sense?
Is there anything else I can do before I go through the whole Bootcamp/Installation process again?
Should I give up on Bootcamp and use Parallels instead?

I went to boot into windows Xp last night, I use the option key, and it was missing too. Just my Mac HD showing up. Is it related to SL 10.6.6? Can't think of any other changes. Is there any way that my files have not been erased forever?
