Deletion of compressed request

Hi
I have two compressed in InfoCube
Req A - 200 records Timestamp 2008
Req B - 300 records Timestamp 2007
Now I want to delete the request "B" from the Cube which is beneath req A in the Cube.
I have already deleted the data for the Req B via selective delete, now the only thing I have been asked is to delete the request.
Can I delete the same via RSICCONT table and if so what is the Impact of the same.

Hi DPN,
Once u do the compression then the request idds will be deleted and the data will move from F table to E table, If u want to delete the compressed data then u have to do Request reverse posting for this you should have the data in PSA. If u do this all the in that request will be multiply with -1 and send to cube with new request, after that u have to do the compression so that + and - values will be cancelled.
I have already deleted the data for the Req B via selective delete, now the only thing I have been asked is to delete the request.
I dint understand this. Remember request ids will be deleted once u do compression.

  • How to delete the compressed Request ID in the info cube... ?

    Hi BW Gurus,
one of the info package will upload the request in to three data targets and failed due to error with duplicate records.  I am able to delete the bad request in two data targets and facing problem with one data target due to the request is available in green and got compressed.
The reasons why i am unable to delete the request in that data target is it is already got compressed and rolledup.
I tried with selective deletion based on same request ID  i have done that successfully but the request still presents in the data target.  I have checked in listcube and found no data for the request id.
now i have one more question like the request has bring down to status not ok in the monitor and done selective deletion will it be a problem on the data missing please advise me if any data missing will occur for the particular data target.
can any one help on this. Thanks in Advance.
    Venkat.

    Hi Venkat
You have one way to delete the compressed request
But this is possible only if u have the request in PSA
If the request is in PSA, do reverse posting
This will nullify the particular bad request by changing the press sign into - and - sign into + for all the records went in the cube for that particular request

  • Deletion of compressed request in BI 7.0

    Hi,
I have loaded info cube by using process chain, in process chain I added compressed.
How to delete the compressed request from info cube .
Note : System is BI 7.0.
    Thank you for advance.
    Regards.
    Suman.

    Hi Suman,
    Greetings.
Yes you can perform selective deletion of data from the compressed request in the Cube.
Either you can go to Manage option in the Cube and schedue there or use TCode delete_facts and delete from there.
If in case you want to schedule this deletion in a process chain, you will need to generate the program using delete_facts in dev and copy it to a Z program in Dev and add that in a process chain. Now migrate the program and the process chain.
Schedule it howvere you want it to be.
Let me know if it helps.
    Thanks

  • Deletion of compressed request in cube

    Hi All,
Is there any way i can delete a compressed request in a cube
and please keep mind that I also have other request in the cube there should not be deleted at any case as the source system of these requests is not connected to BW system now.
    Regards,
    Antony

    Hi,
no, you can't delete a compressed request.
What you can do is to post the request reversal (all keyfigs x -1) provided you still have the data in the PSA or you can reextract it
or you can selectively delete the data of this request if you can find a selection criteria of the data to be deleted....
can you give more details on this request? was it a delta? coming from which DSource?
    hope this helps...

  • Deletion of compressed requests

    Hi,
can anybody tell me is there any way to delete compressed requess in cube.

    Hi,
You can not delete a compressed request.
When you compress a request it moves from the F fact table to E fact table. Here in the E fact table you do not have the request-id column, hence the data can not be recognized with the request number when it is compressed(when the data is in E fact table).
One thing you can do is delete the data based upon selections >> Selective deletion can be performend in such cases if you have any particular parameters ex: date, doc no. range etc etc. to do so.

  • How to delete a compressed request?

I have a full update request in my material movements cube that I want to delete and then attempt to reload from the PSA.  When I go into the cube, highlight the reqeust, and click DELETE I get the message "Request ID 0000055001 is aggregated, compressed or scheduled"
    How can I delete it?
    Thanks!

    Hi Patrick,
You cannot delete by the request ID if it is compressed. The other option would be to attempt Selective deletion by cube contents, if you can accurately highlight or pinpoint the data loaded by way of this request. Selective deletion is irreversible.
    Hope this helps...

Once the requests are compressed the request number is set to 0.

    Hi experts,

    Hi,
You cannot delete the request as its compressed as all the data would have been moved to E table ..
If you have the double records you may use the selective deletion .

  • DELETE A DELTA REQUEST THAT WAS COMPRESSED !!

    Dear Experts,
I've some inconsistent data that i'm trying to address.
So, I've delted a few requests out of ODS_1  >> which sends delta's to CUBE_1.
After that I went to manage for CUBE_1 and deleted couple of those common requests from CUBE_1.
Except one request XXXXXX for 11/1/05. When i'm trying to delte this request it says "This request has been aggregated, compressed or Scheduled".
It said the same thing for the few of the previous req's that i deleted. But after few minutes, it allowed me to delete them successfully.
This request is adamantly not going any further. So, I went ahead to the RSMO and changed the status from green to red on the STATUS tab. But it's still not letting me delete it.
I'm concerned that about two things:
    1. how do i delete this delta request XXXXXX.
    2. If resend the data from datastage to ODS_1 from 11/1 to date, it'll then send delta's to CUBE_1.
But the CUBE_1 already has this request XXXXXX for 11/1/05, it would create duplicate records. What would i do at that point.
    Please guide me thru this.
    Thank you,
    Ti

You need to check to see if the Request you are trying to delete has been compressed in the base cube. Once a Request is compressed in the base cube, you can not delete it.
As Dinesh, mentions, the cause could also be that you have an agrregate that is set to automatically compress after the rollup, and you can not delete Requests from an aggregate that has been compressed either. Now if the Request has NOT been compressed in the base cube, and the problem is just due to the aggregate, then you can deactivate the aggregate, whihc should allow you to then delete the Request from the base cube.
If the request has been compressed in the base cube, I think you really have only a couple of options -
Reload the cube - might be the easiest if the cube is not to big.
Selective Deletion might work if you can identify criteria that would only point to the data that had been loaded in that Request. Possible, but not likely - depends on the cube design and data.
If you still have the data in the PSA you use that to create a flat file that you would reverse all the key figure signs and then load that to the cube from a flat file data source you define to offset the data from the Request that you can not backout.  Another variation would be to try to generate a similar reversing flat file from the source ODS. The PSA is probably a better approach if you have the data still there.
    So ...
The first thing is to identify why you can not delete th Request - due to is compression in the base cube or compression in an aggregate.
This is why you shouldn't compress Requests in the base cube until you have verfied the data.

  • Deleting compressed requests

    Hi Experts,
In a cube i am having 15 requests in which 10 requests are compressed,Now due to some changes in the routines i have to reload the entire data again so i want to delete the data in the cube so how can i delete the data in the cube as 10 requests are compresed and the data is moved to E Table .
Can body tell me how to delete the data in the cube
For confirmation i can check in both the tables F and E once you tell me the procedure how to do it.
    Regards,
    Vikram ingh

    Hi,
This is the procedure to empty the cube
right click on the cube-->delete data..it asks for two options select delete all entries..it deletes all the data from the cube(including compressed data and aggregates).
You cannaoit delete the compressed data by request wise. U can go for selective deletion.

  • ABAP to delete a specific request (last one) from a Cube

    Hello Experts,
In a process chain, I would like to delete the last request in a cube before proceeding through with the rest of the PC. For that purpose, I have an ABAP program which will retrieve the "last request ID" from the cube, then call FM RSSM_DELETE_REQUEST to delete that request using that ID and the cube name.
Once in a while, this deletion doesn't work: the request status is set to erroneous and the PC goes on with its life.
I am currently investigating this issue and have no mean to easily test it, including getting the actual error code from the deletion FM if there is any, so I'm looking for leads or ideas on the possible reasons of such a problem : the cube is fairly simple and doesn't use compressed requests or aggregates. When I delete the request manually, there are no problems.
Is there any other FM more appropriate to delete a specific request such as the last one? Or some best practices associated with this particular task... I'm very new to SAP Netweaver so don't hesitate to point out the obvious.
    Regards,
    Guillaume

    Hello Matthew,
I may be wrong, but it seems that "Delete Overlapping Request" won't be enough to obtain the specific behavior I am looking for.
To give a more detailed description of the context, this specific Cube is used as a history cube, and until a specific date, the latest request, and only this one, not the previous ones which came from the same DTP, must be deleted and then replaced with the new data loaded in the process chain. This data is a value which gets updated everyday but after a specific date (loaded from a table), it's no longer updated and considered "history" and the new data won't replace the previous request but will be added to the cube. Not sure if that was clear
    Here is an example.
The cube contains three requests, A, B and C.
At D1, a new request, D, is loaded and since D1 isn't the "specific day", C is deleted (being the last request) and replaced with D. => The cube contains A, B, D.
At D2, a new request, E, is loaded, and this time time D2 is the "specific day", so D isn't deleted and E is loaded into the cube which now contains A,B,D,E.
I hope this cleared up the actual purpose of this routine.
Do you think there is a way (some conditions or something like that?) to set a "Delete Overlapping Request" to achieve this? This would be much simpler than the current solution.
However, it would still be nice if I could understand what is wrong with the straightforward ABAP program we use in the first place.
    Regards,
    Guillaume

  • Repeating successful uploads - procedure to delete all the requests/packets

    Hi friends,
I have a sort of hypothetical question, so never mind if this makes sense in real life (actually, I can think of a few situations where it makes sense, but only as a last resort).
Let's say I want to repeat the upload that was successful (request is green in the cube). Or another point of view, let's say I want to delete all successful uploads except the initial one. The load is delta load and straight from R/3 into the cube (no DSOs or other objects in between).
What do I need to do/check? I obviously need to delete the requests in the cube, but where else can the data be stored? PSA is probably the first place to check, but it seems to be empty most of the times. How do I delete all the data from the PSA? The BI delta queue is always empty when I look at it from the Administration menu. Again, must I delete it and how? I guess I should delete the delta queue in R/3 as well (through SBIW)?
How do I do the same thing when there ARE other objects (like DSOs) before the cube?
Thanks in advance for your advice/help.
    Kind regards,
    K.

    Probably it does not )
Anyway, i was thinking of a hypothetical situation where an administrator accidentally repeats an upload at some point and thus doubles the figures. Then he does not notice it immediately and the system keeps loading requests for some time.
I actually wanted to predict a solution to this problem, since it would be difficult (if not impossible) to find the duplicate records, especially after "compress". I thought that simply deleting all the requests and reloading through normal delta would solve this hypothetical situation. But again, where and how to delete all (and be sure you deleted all) to ensure that the records will not be doubled.
