Check FS10n per gl account but you will have problems if they have entered any data during the day
There are other reports you can check - ask your FICO guy rather than me teach you FICO
If it is in dev - then input a journal using FB01 -and depending on your BWOM settings check the data that day or the next day via an ipak depending on your bwom_settings

Seems like there is no other fields which an be relevant delta.
check docnum is possible to use as numeric pointer.
Numeric pointer can be used when table allows for entering new records only.
if there is no delta relevant field, go with full load every time.
Use dso inyour data flow. so that we can introduce delta between dso to cube.
data flow like this
data source---> Every time full load to PSA--->You use delta or full load. it pulls latest request which is full to dso---> dso to cube, load delta dtp.
Need to delete the psa request before every load.

Generic Delta 2

I have a z Table consisting fields like company code , change date, etc.
I have created a generic delta using change date as delta field.
A program loads data to this table.
Lets say I loaded all data for company code 1000 and there are other company code data I also need to load but have not done so.
I replicate the datasource to BI 7.
I have read guides on Generic delta and need clarification on its mechanism in more detail.

1. Do we need to Initialize Delta for Generic Delta?
2. If my infopackage used for the init is change date of yesterday, what happens when some days later, I load company code data 2000 into the z table and these data has change dates earlier than the init date?
3. Does init work like this : lets say the data selection in the infopackage used for the init is :
company code = 1000
change date = yesterday.
the 1st delta infopackage will be based on the change date of yesterday and the upper and lower limit?
4. What if I subsequently load other company code data into the z table? How can these be loaded as delta by the existing delta? Or must there be another init? can this be done?
5. Technically, if delta is loaded today, and 2 days later, I insert manually into z table a record having the same change date as the 1st delta change date. How does the delta mechanism know about this? I seek clarification that this record will not be known by the delta and will not be picked up and loaded by the next delta infopackage because the change date is incremental and will never pick up and old change date and delta is based on change date selection.

Yes, you need to do init to capture the delta records.for this while designing you have to select Delta check box in data source maintenance screen.

The change date will be populated in Z table based on system, when you change any record today you won't get yesterday date.anyways in your question as change date is less than last delta run date it won't pick that records.

The best practice is run the init with out any selections, unless when you have requirement that you need to create multiple init's on same data source.
no need to give date selections in info package(already your delta is working on change date).If you need data for a particular company code, give company code other even do not give company code as selection.It will pick all the new or changed data from last delta run.

Do not give company code as selection in your delta info package.same delta IP will pick the data for all company codes.

As i already told we cannot give change date manually, when you save a record this will be populated by system in the table.
Delta settings for generic data source will be maintained in table ROOSGENDLM (here we will have last delta run time stamp on this data source).When you run delta next time, it will pick the data which was stored after delta time stamp.

u r talkin about Generic Delta Tab.. where 3 option s are there,.. - YES
so wat options i shud go for.. so that it enables Delta upload at BW side. - This will not enable delta loading at BI side it will extract delta records from R/3 only, for activation BW delta you have to create a delta infopackage that will extract the delta records from R/3 to BI.
and there are 2 more options in Radio button
- Filed name : Here u specified based on which field ur delta records wil be picked up, like change date field (field name : ERDAT) then specify the name of field, as its a date field so choose the Radio button CAled day. If it had been a time stamp filed u have choosen then Timestamp radio butoon.
1) New status for change Records
2)Additive Delta..
For above read F1 help (that is very clearly explains this)
and what is the DElta check box which is there in Selection and Hide field Tab,, which comes after Saving the First Screen of RS02 ( DATASOURCE : Customer Version Edit ) - This box will become checked when u maitain any delta field in Generic delta tab. It indicates wether the datasource is delta enabled or not

Is it not possible to load deltas for a generic master data extractor?
I have created a generic extractor on R/3 table MEAN (EAN number assigned to material). I have also performed the init run which worked fine, but no deltas are being loaded.
Why is this?

For the setup of summarization levels and summarization data in the Profitability Analysis a 'Safety delta' of half an hour is used. This means, the system only includes records which exist half hour already. You want to reduce this delta in order to get more current data in reporting.

The reason for the duration of these safety deltas are possible differences in the clocks on different application servers. If the delta is selected too short, when updating the summarization levels/data, records may not be taken into account. In particular the Account-based Profitability Analysis depends on the sufficient length of the delta, so that update processes which take longer do not cause inconsistencies. For the Costing-based Profitability Analysis a lock is set. If not active update processes exist, it fails and the update terminates.
Solution
The attached source code correction is not part of the standard system. With this change the safety delta is set from 30 to 5 minutes. You should only implement this, if exclusively the Costing-based Profitability Analysis is active in your system. If you also use Account-based Profitability Analysis we do not recommend the change for the above-mentioned reasons.

Change the Full load to Delta load

Hi All,
I am loading the data form R/3 to BW with full load by using the generic data sources.
Now I need to change the full load to delta. But I get the data 2 views and one FM.
Some what I have got the solution, that is going RSO2 there generic delta will be available
If I click I will get the one wind there 3 deltas form there I took time stamp. Then I need
Select the field name.
1) Now only my problem started in that field name there is no creation
Date and last changed data, based on this we need to get the data from R/3 to BW.
2) In that 3 datasorce I used the one DS function module in this also that field name is not
available .
3) In safety interval what I need to give.
After doing all the changes in R/3 side wht are the change i need to in BW
Please help on above 3 issues.

Hi,
1.) based on these fields you will get delta records from r/3 to BW.
3.) safety interval :more clearly--- lower limit corresponds to last extraction
time and upper limit specifies to the current extraction time. This is regarding the date .

Generic DataSource & Delta setup

Hello Folks,
I am trying to get my Generic DataSources and Delta concepts straight and got more confused after reading a white paper titled "how to ...create generic delta". I am on SAP R/3 4.6c and BW 3.0b.
This white paper talks about creating generic datasource and delta using RSO2 in BW. It explains how to specify delta-specific field and then select a delta type (AIE or ADD) which sets the "delta update" flag after generating.
My question is
1)should we create a generic datasource and delta from BW as suggested by this white paper and not in SAP R/3 directly using RSO2 and RSA3? what are the pros and cons.
I tried creating a generic datasource in SAP R/3 using RSO2 since these transactions are available in SAP R/3. I noticed the "delta update" checkbox was always(or for the cases I tried) blank and protected. Also noticed a menu item under "Datasource" called "setup delta" to be grayed out as well. So looks like, a delta can be set up in SAP R/3 but does not let me do it.
My question is
1) why can't I set up a delta?

Hi Jay,
First, you do not create a Datasource from BW. A Datasource is created in R/3. You replicate them to BW afterwards so that you can create/map them to Transfer Rules.
Datasource creation is in R/3 only. You can of course create BW as a source of data for other systems but thats something else.
Creating a GENERIC DELTA is based only on TIMESTAMP, NUMERIC POINTER and CALENDAR DAY. Delta Check box is really grayed out for GENERIC DATASOURCES because once you specify that your generic data source is DELTA capable by using any of the three options above as DELTA, then the Delta Check Box is automatically checked.
What Setup Delta are you referring that you cannot do?

If the delta is enabled for datasource:
RSA6-->double click on data source --> the delta will be flaged.
Does that mean, I can do a delta load or create a generic datasource for a delta timestamp?

Abby,
If the delta check box enabled, you can load the delta records. It doesn't mean that you can cretae Generic DS.
Generic DS is nothing custom DS. you can create any for any data. that depends on the requirement. No need of any Specific module or any specific data.
If the Standard Extractor doesn't satisfy your requirement, you need to create a Custom DS.

Problem in data transfer from R/3 to BW

Hai friends,
I am pulling data from R/3 to BW every 4 hours. For the past 2 days, it has been the case that the status of the pull when seen in RSMO shows GREEN but the number of records is 0 from 0, when actually there is data in R/3. When I got to BD87, there are no pending Idocs. However, there have been odd 20,000 active RFC connections for a long time in R/3. Can anyone help out? What the problem can be?
In BD87, under OUTBOUND PROCESSING, there is a RED Status on the option IDoc entries in tRFC queue with number as 257726. What does this mean?

Try these,
If Delta, check delta queue RSA7 also check note 380078
Check source system connection in RSA1
Check the right destinations are entered SM59 check in both systems
You have checked your IDocs BD87 but have a look at note 555229 this may help you further
You can try to re-rpocess these IDOCs again in BD87 if that doesn't work check the tRFC queue SM58 in R3 for any errors then check corresponding partner connection

Character rotation problem in tiled map

Hi I am trying to rotate the character in a tiled map. Its is successful but theres problem with moving diagonally. When i pressed for example up and right keypressed, when its moving it will rotate as i wanted but when i released the buttons, it either rotate to the up or right. I want the image to rotate diagonally and stay as it is when i released the buttons.

Wierd iPod recogition issue

Last night my daughter's iPod mini needed to be charged. Nothing unusual there. It worked fine, just ran out of juice. So, I plugged it in as I always do and went to bed (this is a first generation Mini plugged into a Power Mac both have the latest iTunes and software update for the models involved).
I woke this morning to unplug the iPod and give it to my daughter. I was greeted by an error message in iTunes: "iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPad "Kids ipod". Use the iPod Updater to restore the iPod to factory settings."
Being somewhat of a geek, I decided to try and figure out what is wrong with the iPod before simply wiping the slate clean and starting fresh as the error indicates.
The iPod shows up on the desktop. The software updater indicates that the iPod is up to date with software and that the 2GB+ worth of material is still there... or at least 2GB+ worth of something registers in the content of the iPod. However, the iPod does not even show that it has anything on it. Selecting the playlists, songs, albums, etc. on the iPod gives me blank pages on the iPod...like nothing is there.
Yes, I have the music. Yes, I can restore the iPod to factory presets and go.
BUT I would like to know what may have happened in order to prevent having to do this again.
Any ideas?
Things tried so far:
1. Reset the iPod in accordance with the reset articles.
2. Plugging into different port.
3. Plugged different iPod into the same machine, same cord, same port...it worked fine.
Note, this is a question of curiousity so that I might prevent this from happening again...and in the end perhaps prevent it from happening to someone else's iPod by the reading of this post.

Follow the steps .
If the loads are running past so many days then follwo the steps.
1. Check the previous requests ( Data Target Level).So that you will get idea how much loading time is taking in BI.
If loading is Full :
Check the data in RSA3 level.If Data available in R/3 then try tro load data into PSA first.If data is not there check the data at the table levl.
If it Delta :
Check the Delta queue as well as R/3 background Jobs for the particular DS.

Simple set up job how to cancel

Hi bw expert please help me asap, I have run the set up job by oli9bw for billing with out any number range, but then i realized that it will take the long time, so i run a parallel set up job with number range. please help me now how to delete or end the old set up job that has no number range

to get records in BW from LO applications.
Do :
1 fill in setup tables according to your application as you have done. (if you need do to it again delete in lbwg and then fill in again in oliXbw.
2 do intialisation of delta in BW side with the IP
3 launch the collection run (do not forget to give a printer)so that the job will read and process data to the queue (check in rsa7)
4 do delta uploads in BW side with another IP.
if you skeep the step of collection run in lbwe you will not get the deltas
If there is no records do modification in a billing document or ask a functional consultant to do it and launch delta again (before launching delta check if collection run is still active)

I have asked R/3 team to provide me the details.
They said the below points.
1.Data source is built using only one single table.
2.Delta check mark is set in RS02.
But i have one small doubt,
As of now we are checking the data source extraction in RSA3 , using the update mode " F" .It is extracting .
But
1. Can i check the Inti functionality in RSA3 using the Update mode "c"(Initiliastion of Delta transfer).?
2. Can i change the update mode in RSA3 in case of generic data source?

In Project System, after creating the Projectdefinition can we create directly a Milestone to that Project definiton without creating WBS Element, Network header and Network Activity. Is it possible or not.

Hi,
PS datasources are not much different than any other application. Some of the datasources are delta enabled and some are full.
For the deltas check using RSA3 if you are able to get any data for the deltas. Also check the PS tables on the R3 side to make sure that there is delta data in them.
Check in RSA7 to see what data is there. Check your infopackage to see if there are any selection criteria there.
If you did an init with data transfer and the delta immediately after that then chances are that you won't get back any records. If that is the case, suggest you wait for some postings and transactions to happen and then try the delta again.
