DEP close Itunes

I recently download Itunes the newst version and after i installed and tried to open it windows close it imidiatly and says that DEP closed Itunes
some1 can help me

Try completely uninstalling Quicktime, the full instructions for doing that are in this knowledge base article, <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926?viewlocale=en_US>. There's a link toward the bottom called "Completely Remove iTunes and QuickTime". Click on that to reveal more information and that should give you the full steps for the scorched earth uninstall of Quicktime. Uninstall application, run Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility, manually delete files.
What I'm concerned about is that you have a partial, non-standard Quicktime install on your machine.
Also do you have any third party iTunes plugins or Quicktime codecs installed? Does you launch the Quicktime Player (that came with iTunes), does that give you the same DEP error?

When I close itunes I get a message that DEP Data Execution Protection has turned off Itunes. I followed the window instructions to exclude Itunes from DEP, but I get a message that this program can not eb removed from DEP??? Any help would be appreciated. I currently run windows Vista. Take a look at this link, http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard Make sure your Mac meets the requirements for Mac OS X 10.6, then after updating you will need to update to Mac OS X 10.6.8 then pay for the Mac OS X 10.7 update.

  • Itunes with Vista, Data Execution Protection settings closes Itunes.

I star-up Itunes.  It launches correctly.  Once the Itunes window is open and my music librairy appears, Microsoft closes Itunes.  The final message says its the Data Execution Protection settings that forced it to close.  I try and change the settings by turning the DEP off for Itunes, but it says that it can't run without it and refuses to disable it for Itunes.
Called Apple, they say it's a Microsoft problem...
Called Microsoft, they say it's an incompatibility problem with Apple and pointed me here.
    Any suggestions?

After seeing Bill-Taylor's response, I decided to try alexloise's suggestion to see if it would solve the relatively minor Vista/DEP on iTunes shutdown issue. The short answer seems to be "no," at least in my case. The Microsoft link that turingtest2 posted gave me a big headache, but did not show me how to disable AutoRun for the CD/DVD drive.  (If I understand correctly, other types of AutoRun should already be disabled if all Important and Recommended Windows updates have been installed.) So I tried the registry edit suggested in this article: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2254345,00.asp. Only then did I see the iTunes notification mentioned by alexloise:
Unfortunately, I continue to see the familiar DEP notifications when exiting iTunes 11.4.

  • DEP? itunes 10.2.2 vista

I recently updated to itunes version 10.2.2 and now whenever I close itunes a message pops up saying a problem has caused the programme to stop working correctly. Windows will close the programme and notify you if a solution is available. before a box comes up saying to help protect your computer Data Execution Prevention has closed itunes click to learn more which only takes me to the windows help which only explains what dep is.
itunes after the first few tries is working as it should be as far as i'm aware except an occasional dark box around the play controls.

  • ITunes Match Step 3 doesn't load,  Windows Closes iTunes.  Solution?

Since October 27, 2013 have not been able to get all 3 steps of the iTunes Match to complete.  Steps 1 & 2 load correctly and a green check mark appears for each.  However, when things move to Step 3 an error message immediately appears that indicates "iTunes has stopped working", and Windows closes iTunes.
My laptop is running Window 7.  Apple Tech Support had me uninstall all components of iTunes and then (re)load the latest version on my laptop.  All music in my iTunes library has always played correctly on my iPod Classic.  (Note: the iPod Classic has not been synced sinced the problems with the iTunes Match load surfaced as I am fearful of corrupting what's there.  Which also means all recent iTunes store purchases cannot be played on the iPod classic until it sync'd.)  Accessing the iTunes music library on the iPod Touch shows that some tracks are greyed out and not available which seems consistent with the failure of Step 3 to load.  Need help.  Thanks.

    Hi,
Try holding shift key whilst turning off match. This will clear genius / match cache. Close iTunes then reopen. Turn on match, you will be asked to add this computer, do so and let process complete.
You should also add iCloud status column to song view - menu > view > view options and tick box. This will tell you what has been matched, uploaded, purchased, duplicate or inelligible. It will show tracks that have not been processed  as "waiting". If you have any such tracks, one or more may be preventing completion. You may need to remove such tracks and gradually readd until match processes them. This may help identify problem tracks.

This only started happening after I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, I don't have a clue why it does it, but if I close the screen on my laptop and open it, the screen doesn't come back on it just stays off but the power light button comes on and the WiFi signal button is on but it is red as if the wifi is turned off, is anyone else having this problem or does anyone know how to fix it? I have to manually hold down the power button everytime I close my laptop to turn it off and then back on and once it is on it works perfectly, but I don't like holding the power button down for obvious reasons. Thank you.Go back to Windows 10, seems HP do not care about releasing up to date drivers for Windows 10, this is despite the problem you report also happening during BETA Testing of Windows 10 over TWELVE MONTHS AGO! It is only now HP are bothering to advise people not to upgrade, but yet they clearly won't reply in this topic, which is more or less about your problem from many different users! http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and-Software/Windows-10-Laptop-won-t-go-into-sleep-mode/m-p/5181173#M304826

  • Data Execution Prevention closes iTunes

With great difficulty i installed iTunes on Windows Vista x64, now this is the problem, what do i do ??
I tried to make iTunes an exception to DEP, but DEP says, iTunes has to run with DEP and i cannot even add iTunes to the list of programs that DEP refuses not to execute/check.
    Kindly help

I'm having the same problem with the DEP and I tried disabling the entire function through the command prompt to no avail. Completed the instruction, it said it was successful, I rebooted, then had the same problem. Just bought my first iPod and cant' put a single thing on it!
Is there an older version of iTunes I can download that will not experience this error?
If anyone has any other advice, it would be appreciated.

Click on iTunes and do comand Q. Be sure you are quitting iTunes to finish update and not just closing the screen.

  • When I close itunes on my pc I cant reopen it

When I first turn on my pc (windows vista 32bit) and open iTunes it plays fine, however when I close iTunes and then try to reopen it nothing happens. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times but nothing changes. Please Help

I had this same problem and my sixteen year old figured it out. Since the Windows PC running iTunes (which supports a housefull of AppleTVs) was running in a closet, he suspected it was due to having no speakers attached.
Sure enough, when I went into control panel to look at my sound settings, I noticed something I had missed previously. There was a red mark on the device. I took his advice and plugged in some earphones to the speaker jack and, wallah, the red mark turned green and the iTunes warning never popped up again.

  • Does anyone else have this problem - I can't close iTunes!

Does any else get this really annoying problem? When I run iTunes, after a while the 'Accessing iTunes Store' display line at the top of the screen gets stuck (the stripey horizontal line just shows moving stripes forever). When this happens, I can no longer access the iTunes store AND I can't close the program! iTunes has not actually hung though, and I can still play music. The only way I can close iTunes is by killing it using Task Manager. If I click on the close icon, nothing happens.
I had this problem on version 7 and it's still there after upgrading to version 8. I might even have had it on earlier versions, I can't remember. Also, I had the same problem on another PC! When I transferred my library and account details to the new PC, the problem came with them.
I really like iTunes, but I'm totally fed up with this ridiculous problem which I've now had for a long time. I can still buy music as long as I do it before the problem hits. But it always happens eventually (after say 30 mins? Maybe less). iTunes diagnostics is no help. It always tells me that everything's working fine.
    Any help, very much appreciated.
