Deployment hangs

Hi, I am trying to deploy a configuration,
Business Protocol is Custom Doc over Internet (AS2).
I have only specified one trading agreement (there are no other agreements deployed or specified) for the config I am trying to deploy.
When stopping all services the OC4J instance needs to be stopped forcefully, (opmnctl stopall):
Error
--> Process (pid=3172)
time out while waiting for a managed process to stop
Log:
D:\Ora_10GR2\opmn\logs\B2B~OC4J_B2B~default_island~1
opmnctl: graceful stop of processes failed, trying forceful shutdown...
I have looked trough the logs (DEBUG level), could not find anything that could give me an idea as to what could be wrong.
I have an internal delivery channel (FILE) specified in the agreement for the HOST trading partner.
Made sure all endpoints exist etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated (OAS B2B 10.1.2..x)

Hello,
This is nothing to do with B2B configuration. The OPMNCTL command intermittently fails to perform a graceful shutdown. When this occurs, the process is stopped, but an error similar to the mentioned appears.

What is the problem? Do I need any special permissions? I have even tried deploying as root and it still just hangs.
Thanks for any help that you might provide.

I ran into the same problem.
"stracing" the hanging process I found that the installer tried to connect to an IP mapped to my hostname in /etc/hosts:
bind(6, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(0), sin_addr=inet_addr("0.0.0.0")}, 16) = 0
getsockname(6, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(38792), sin_addr=inet_addr("0.0.0.0")}, [16]) = 0
connect(6, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(36047), sin_addr=inet_addr("192.168.1.107")}, 16) = -1 EHOSTUNREACH (No route to host)
Problem was that the mapping of my hostname to IP 192.168.1.107 was not valid any more. Updating the IP mapped to the hostname to the current IP AND RERUNNING the setup procedure solved the problem.

• MSO 2010 Application deployment hangs if detection method for presence of deployment is specified

SCCM 2012 R2 is configured to deploy MSO 2010 to our systems, even the ones that already have it deployed. Regular deployment does not re-install MSO 2010 because it detects it already installed on a system, so I added "Detection Method" and configured
it to look for a file "mso_installed.txt" in C:\WINDOWS. A custom MS Office package was created to place this file into C:\WINDOWS during the setup as part of App deployment.
The logic is: if the app deployment does NOT find this file in C:\windows, it will force MSO reinstall. Introducing this method appears to hang the setup. I can see that deployment shows up in Software Center, content is downloaded, status changes to "installing"
and then nothing happens. Setup32.exe process appears to sit doing nothing - no change in CPU or MEM utilization. Eventually, the status changes to "Past due - will be installed".
We currently have a deployment that works, but doesn't have the detection method logic above. What could be causing this deployment not to work and if my method above is not ideal, what are my options for forcing re-install of the app, even if already present
on the system?

• Deployment hangs the control center

Hi,
We are using OWB 10.2.0.1, central installation.... We have installed OWB in our local machines (laptops), thru which we acess the Central OWB repository...
When I try to deploy any map from control center, it is getting hanged... But If I do the same from another machine (with the same username & password),the control center is deploying the map successfully...
I re-installed OWB in my laptop, but no luck, still facing the same issue....
Can anybody, pls tell me how to avoid this issue.

I just asked the same question. It's not supported on iPhone 4. I'm annoyed by that cause that was one thing I was super excited about. I was sent this article too about what we lowlife 4 users miss out on.

• Deployment hangs - South Central US datacenter

My cloud service has been running for almost a year now. I successfully deployed an update last night. I tried to deploy again today (minor changes) and have been unsuccessful over 5 times now. It just hangs on "starting virtual machine."
My cloud service is hosted at South Central US. According to http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/status/, a "subset" of users are having problems which I believe includes me. My question is, can we get an update on how long of an outage
we're looking at? My production site is down. Should I be working on moving my cloud service, storage accounts, and sql azure database to another location?

Hi dlee,
Thank you for all the details shared by you on the services which are being hosted. In the South Central US, we are currently experiencing intermittent network issues, and due to this the services might be hung. I have engaged network team and the
team of experts to get this issue resolved and get the services resume now.
I will keep you posted on the progress on this issue. Thank you for your patience. Sincere apologies from us regarding this issue.

What is the problem?
Michael

The error is due to the corrupted MDL file. MDL is getting corrupted because there is not enough memory for java VM. To fix the MDL corruption increase memory parameters.
1. On client PC: XXXX\owb\bin\win32\owbclient.bat change
java -Xms64M -Xmx768M -Dlimit=768M -XX:MaxPermSize=256M
to
java -Xms64M -Xmx1024M -Dlimit=1024M -XX:MaxPermSize=512M
Restart client session.
It did fix the problem in my case.
Oracle also recommends changing memory parameters on the server side (UNIX in my case)
2.On server side XXXX/owb/bin/unix/run_service.sh
$JAVAPATH/bin/java -Xmx768M

• 12.1.3 Servicebus deployment hangs stuck threads

Hi,
I'm not sure what the issue is but on a new standalone SOA environment, most service bus deployments keep hanging.
(Deployments using sbconfig.jar import).
Not sure what the issue is - I see stuck threads on the AdminServer and the osb managed server and the /servicebus console just hangs forever.
All the dependencies (mainly connection pool jndi names etc.) exist on the target server.
Occasionally this environment also gives me the error shown in the screenshot "Exception occurred while downloading files"
When I import the same sbconfig.jar on a different server (installed locally on my desktop), the deployment goes through perfectly fine.

Hi,
Can You try to delete or rename the data folder present in the Domain_home/Server/AdminServer and then try to restart the server.
Admin Server will create the ldap files again and then you can try to use the same password and check if it works.
You can rename the data .tmp and cache folder
Else You can also create a New Admin user and use them to start the server.

It seems that there is a Junk data in your Pub tables. please clear all junk data from PUB tables. then restart the production & Publishing server and then try to deploy the empty project first. once the empty project successful deploy, then you can create asset and deploy.
Thanks

• Deployment hangs after boot

Hello Forum, I've run into a weird issue. Only one of my images will not deploy. It doesn't boot to the PXE environment, it hangs at the windows screen(see screenshot). I figured, maybe it's a driver thing, so I went to the manufacturer's site and grabbed
the latest drivers as well as the Winpe drivers, still no go. Next, I deleted the deployment's boot folder contents and completely regenerated the boot files, still no go. I've also, rebuilt the wim file from scratch, still at a dead end. I'm totally baffled
because only one of our models has this problem.
version: MDT 2012 6.1.2373.0
Hosted on Windows Server 2008 R2 VM
WDS: NO
Since it's not booting to the PXE environment, it's not generating any logs files. Please Help
IT Support " Scripting Noob "

Sorry for the wait guys, I'm totally stuck now. Ok, here we go.
1.) I moved the OS to a test deployment share, it booted to PE but failed due to no network driver. I added the drivers and tried again, it went back to hanging at boot. So, I removed ALL the drivers,
verified the Out-Of-Box drivers folder was empty, and completely regenerated the boot files, it still hangs at boot.
2.) I thought the deployment share was caching the MAC or something so checked the deployment folder in the %temp% directory, it was empty.

• VC Deployment Hangs at 85%

Hi everyone,
We are on VC 7.01 SP5. We have a model based on BW BEx queries and the model works except when adding a specific query where it stops deploying at 85% (compiles correctly).
There's nothing special about the BEx query except that it is within a nested i-View (where I have other queries in other nested i-Views and still working) and shares the same InfoCube as other queries in the parent i-View.
I tried copying the query and removing restricted key figures but still with no luck.
Any ideas?
Best Regards,
Ali Q.

Hi all,
I was able to solve my problem. It turns out that the query name (description not the technical name) was the cause of this issue because it included the ( ' ) apostrophe character.
Therefore, make sure your BEx query description doesn't include an apostrophe since Visual Composer is problematic with this character and displays it as the string (').
I wanted to share this with all of you.
Regards,
Ali Q.

• SDM deployment hangs

We are running NW2004S ABAP instance on WIndows 2003 x64 and SQL 2005 (x64) and I just added the Java instance for BI reporting. The install went just fine with no errors or surprises.
Now that its been added I was planning on updating all the java components through SDM. I go through the usual routine of putting the mode into standalone and run the SDM GUI. All of the functions run just fine except when I click on deployment to add the packages to be updated the SDM just gives me an hour glass and I have to end task to kill the SDM. I've let it stay that way for a couple of hours just to see if it returns and it doesnt. Restarting it does the same thing.
I updated the SDM from stack that I was intending to go to (support stack 12) but it seems to have made no difference. I checked some notes but they dont really seem to cover the affects I am seeing.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

This may be due to many reasons..
1. Check your JDK versions and check your system variable accordingly.
2. Increase the heapsize for the SDM at the time of deployment. Kindly refer to following SAP Note Note 879377.How to adjust the Java heap memory used by SDM?
3. 756084 Common met SDM v6.30/6.40/7.0 problem
4.Another major problem could be using multiple netwrok interface cards, refer the note 609603 - Sixth point in the note.

• Par deploy from IDE hangs and causes Portal to crash

Using the Netweaver 2004s SP7 Preview, on a Windows XP Pro machine, when I use the IDE's Quick Deploy on a Par, most of the time all works fine. But occasionally the deploy hangs in the Deploying Par stage. I have waited as long as an hour to make sure that it is hung. The IDE has to be stoped from Task Manager.
At this point the portal no longer responds. Restarting the system results in the server0 never getting beyond the Starting Framework status.
I found no errors in any logs after the hang or from the attempted restart.
The only way to restart was to restore the file systems from a backup.
Needless to say a three hour restore once or twice a day is very frustrating.
Has anyone seen this behavior?

Hi Antonio,
A couple basic questions that may help us troubleshoot:
1.) What version of LabVIEW are you using?
2.) Are you able to deploy any code to the sbRIO? i.e. something even simpler than what you are already doing.
3.) Have you ever been able to deploy code to this particular sbRIO?
4.) Have you tried formatting and reinstalling the software?
5.) What other troubleshooting steps have you tried?

• Unable to deploy BIPublisher on OracleAS with WebCenter

I installed the OracleAS with webcenter (i think that's 10.1.3.2.0)
But when i try to deploy the xmlpserver.ear from BI Publisher 10.1.3.2.1
the deployment "hangs" on the last step (binding to the webApp).
I also tried manual deployment using the admin_client.jar, but with the same result.
Anyone an idea where to start looking for the reason of "hanging"?
After the non-deployment I see an
...\j2ee\home\applications\xmlpserver\xmlpserver\WEB-INF\lib with the jar-files
but no xmlpserver dir in the ...\j2ee\home\application-deployments
no xmplserver.war file under...\j2ee\home\applications\xmlpserver
and no META-INF under...\j2ee\home\applications\xmlpserver

Hi,
do you have any updates on this? I encountered similar situation, but I was trying to manually deployed to AS 10.1.3.0.0.
Please let me know if you have found a solution,
thank you

• SDM deployment fails

Hi Experts
I am facing a strange issue when trying to deploy through NWDS. The EAR file does not deploy and the deployment hangs. Here the deployment simply hangs and no error is recieved. we tried restarting the SDM and deploying but even that failed.
When I rename the EAR file and deploy it works very fine. All other EAR files are deployed perfectly well.
Kindly advise as what could be the cause of the issue.
Thanks & Regards,
Vijith

Hi,
If you have application with the same name, try to undeploy it first. If you had it in the past, check sdmrepository.xml and %SDM%/root and clean all references for your old application (with the same name). Once it's done, try to deploy the new application again,
