Deployment manager-Web Console-Import
Hi Guys
When I import a configuration using deployment manager, it gets stuck for no reason.
But sometimes it imports.
What could be the proble. Did any one face this kind of issue.
I really got tired importing hundrreds on times.

Follow these steps to create, compile, and run a simple Java program in JDeveloper:

OIM - Deployment Manager import xml issue
Hi All
I have OIM on Solaris 10 and I am trying to deploy the EBS HR Recon connector on the same. I have successfully deployed the connector through the OIM Admin console. (OIM - 9101, EBS conn - 9043)
Now I want to establish EBS HR as the trusted source for which I am trying to import the "XellOraEmp.xml" file. When I open the Admin console on my windows machine and try to import the xml file using Admin Console->Deployment Manager, upon selecting the correct xml file in 'File Open' dialog box, the deployment manager does not imports the file i.e. no file information is displayed on the confirmation screen. I do not get any error for this.
Please let me know how can I import the xml file.
ThanksThanks for your reply. I also tried with the latest JDK and it is behaving in the same manner. Is it something because my OIM is on solaris and I am trying to import the file from windows env.

Hello,
Seem to be having some trouble with the web console on users computers.
I type the console link into my browser and hit enter. When it prompts me to configure or skip. I select configure.
Do You want to run or save SilverlightClientConfiguration.exe. I select run but after the security scan it says SilverlightClientConfiguration.exe was reported as unsafe
I run it any way and it says it was successfully configured on this computer so i select close but am still seeing the same configure/skip screen. I click skip and it starts loading the console. The left side however shows all the views that are available
to my account however when clicking on any of them i receive the following message in the right pane.
"The view cannot be displayed because this computer is not configured for the operations manager web console. Refresh the browser to configure"
Any suggestions?Hello Yog Li, Similar but I don't know that it is the same. I tried adding those registry entries but still no luck.
A few things to note. The web console works fine from the MS, and running the silverlight plugin says it is installing successfully.
Update: I have tried re-installing the Web Console role but still have the same issue. If I use my account to log into the console from the MS it works fine. From my PC or any of our other users PC still a no go.
Any help on this would be appreciated
Update 2: Ended up uninstalling the web console again. Ran the prerequisites again using
Import-Module ServerManager

Every time i try to install the Web Console i get the error ( Please see the attach).

Here is where I am now
I was using the Domain Admin account to run the installation from the looks like the permission error so I log on with different AD user which have DB rights and was able to run the installation but i get this error now
This account i used to install the SCOM. Account have full right on SCOM server AND DB server and DB Admin.
Please see the logs below.

OIM 11G- Web Console- Problem with "Export Deployment Manager File"

I am using gogle chrome browser on oim11g setup.
I was able to Import/Export the objects using Import/Export Deployment Manager File.
The reason why I opted for chrome is that I was unable to connect to login to the web console, it was just asking for userid and password and after some time, the browser(Internet Explorer 7) hangs on.
And with FireFox 5.0.1, it is the same thing both import and export deployment manager file windows opens as soon as I click and they just close after 2-3 seconds.
The problem now is after updating the java to "Version 6 Update 26 ", the Export Deployment Manager File stopped working. The window pop-ups and closes in 2 seconds.
But Import Deployment Manager File is working fine with out any problems.
The pop - up blocker is not enabled.
And I am sure that it was working fine earlier with chrome before the java update.When I remove the updated java version, chrome is asking to download the latest java version.
Any suggestions, that helps to work with chrome or firefox or IE?

I have never had any luck getting anything after Version 6 update 23 to export properly. I would remove your updated Java and restore to a previous version of Java.

Error while Importing ResourceObject xml file in Deployment Manager
Hi Everyone,
I am getting this error while doing Import of HRPeopleSoftResourceObjects.xml ( A Resource Object xml file) in Deployment Manager. I am doing this step for Authoritative(Trusted Source) Reconciliation.
Error Says:- Attribute not present in EntityDefination of User :: ExpectedReturnDate.
ExpectedReturnDate is a UDF (Customize) field. I did Metadata and Sandbox import for this field to create this attribute in OIM. I can see this attribute on User Details screen as well as in User Table in OIM. So, ideally this error should not popup. I have to do this import for Reconciliation.
I pulled and checked all the xml files like(UserEO.xml.xml, userEO.xml.xml, userVO.xml, UserVO.xml.xml) from oracle.iam.console.identity.self-service.ear_V2.0_metadata1 and found ExpectedReturnDate field is available.
I am using: OIM Version - Oracle 11g Release 2
Database version - 11.2.0
Weblogic version - 10.3
Please let me know how to resolve this error.

I saw your response today. What you have suggested in your post make perfect sense to me.
Yesterday, I was able to create Reconciliation profile successfully. No idea how it worked so, didn't updated my post.
I tried to re-import the UDF, noticed ExpectedReturnDate attribute has little icon in fornt of it on deployment manager screen which says on mouse over "new field". No idea why as I didn't delete it from anywhere, perhaps it didn't get imported properly previously. I stepped ahead and clicked the import button on deployment manager but failed as it was throwing an exception which says udf_usr_expectedReturnDate is available in usr table. That makes sense to me as this column got created in usr table in OIM because of previous import and I didn't delete it either. This raised couple of doubts more as, along with this attribute there were other attributes in the same metadata xml file which were part of previous import and their respective columns were already created in usr table. Then why message poped-up for this field in particular? Anyway I went ahead with the import process.
Now I stopped all the server (Admin, SOA and OIM) and restarted them again and performed the same steps as mentioned above and this time it worked as expected. UDF file got imported successfully.
After this I went to Design Console verified all the fields and created the Reconciliation Profile. I checked OIM database and found RA_ProfileName recon tables got created.
As per your comment, Today I checked the RECON_USER_OLDSTATE table but this table is empty.
Still I have couple of doubts, if Reconciliation Profile got created it should create the xml file under metadata direcectory(in my case path should be: /apps/Oracle/Middleware/Oracle_IDM1/server/metadata/db). Please correct me if I am wrong? I hope it should be physical file not a logical file.

The Upgradation is completed.
In upgraded version(OIM910)of Web Console,i have some new options in Resource Management and Deployment Management.
When i click those options,it shows "Page cannot Found" error.
Can u please tell me,where this pages will exists or do i need some other customizations to get these things.

Saranya.Well what is the error which you get while doing Trusted Recon. If its some connection error then confirm that you have required connection jar files placed in the ThirdParty folder of OIM.
I am not very sure but I thing these would be the jar files required:
Oracle 8i - classes12.jar
Oracle 10g - ojdbc.jar
so make sure you have right jar files.

Portal Application deployment problem to Managed Web Server
I'm trying to deploy an ADF application using JSR168 portlets to a Managed Web Server on WebCenter 11g and I'm getting the following error in the log file after running the portal.jsp (I get 'Portlet unavailable' on the browser page):
oracle.adf.model.portlet.binding.PortletBindingException: The metadata for portlet binding TasksPortlet1_1 was not found in MDS.
When I deploy the application from JDeveloper to the Managed Web Server I get the following error (The application does deploy successfully):
Error during portlet export. Portlets will not be available in the target application. Context: input mds repository file path = C:\JDeveloper\mywork\Mindflow\mds. output mds repository file path = C:\JDeveloper\mywork\Mindflow\.mdsExport. input connections file path and name = /C:/JDeveloper/mywork/Mindflow/.adf/META-INF/connections.xml. export ID = /oracle/adf/portlet/export. producer/portlet IDs to export: [oracle/adf/portlet/MindFlowWsrpPortletProducer].
However if I right-click on the portal.jsp page and select Run from JDeveloper and run it within the Integrated WLS it does run fine there.
Is there something special that needs to be set for the Deployment on either the application or project? Or is there something that needs to be setup via the web-based Adminstrative Console (I have verified that the MindFlowWsrpPortletProducer is registered on the Admin console)?

I am deploying the application to the WebCenter Managed server from JDeveloper.
What managed server did you deploy it to - a custom server that you created?
Yes this is a custom Managed Server (called MindFlow). At the time of your response the only two servers up and running on WebCenter was the AdminServer and MindFlow.
Did the deployment go through?
Yes
Are there any errors in the managed server log when you access the page?
Yes these where the errors showing that it could not connect with the metadata via the repositories.
Now for the update:
I went ahead and started up the WLS_Portlet managed server that comes with WebCenter. When I did this I got the following error:
WSM-04509: cannot initialize the connection to the data store
I then deployed the Portlet Producer Application to the WLS_Portlet from JDeveloper. I then grabbed the url for the newly created portlet producer and updated the connection on the Portal application. After doing this and updating the portal.jspx file, I then deployed the Portal application to the MindFlow managed web server. I then brought up the portal.jspx page via a browser and was able to bring back results. The only issue now is that while doing this I got multiple MDS errors (including the initialize error above) and not sure if I can ignore these or not. One of the errors received was as follows:
oracle.mds.exception.MDSException: MDS-01258: The value @MDS_CLASS for property class-name is invalid. -

So, we use the JMX API calls to deploy the web application. But, at the time of this deployment the managed server is not brought up. So, our expectation was that when the managed server is brought up later, it will automatically STAGE the web application from Admin Server and then, deploy it in the managed server.
But, what is happending is that the web application is not being deployed to the managed server (even though the web application is configured to be deployed in the specified managed server in the config.xml and it is set as the default application of the managed server application).
We are using WebLogic 7.0 SP2 on RedHat Linux 7.2.
Can anyone help to deploy web application on to a managed server when the managed server is down ?

Deployment Manager Import vs Install Connector

I am a little confused bw the fuctionality provided by Deployment Manager's Import Option and Install Connector.
Please help
-MahiIn addition to what Rajiv told, also check whether the connector you are trying to Install does support the CI feature as well. There are some new connectors which don't have the CI built in. So even if you are using the latest version of OIM, then also you would not be able to use the CI feature.
To check this look for configuration\ folder in the connector pack. This must have an xml file like ConnectorName-CI.xml. This holds the logic of file copying and xml import. So if you wanna use this feature in a custom build connector, then you would just need to create this file and write your logic in it. Folder structure could be anything as you desire.

I had this problem also. For me it worked to log on to the SLD and then I was able to log on to the other applications like Useradmin and NWA.
The SLD is usually available at <a href="http://localhost:50000/sld">http://localhost:50000/sld</a>.
