Desktop app window is blank

My desktop app fails to open and show any content. It does not "hang," it simply stays blank. I have downloaded and installed the app twice and it is still blank, restarting the computer each time. I am unable to update or sync any of my CC programs.

Hi PacosMother,
Please refer to the threads below where this issue has been fixed:

  • MAC OS 10.8.4 - CC desktop app is completely blank.

My CC desktop app is completely blank. What to do. (I reinstalled) already. MAC OS 10.8.4

Navigate to ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE/opm.db and trash it. Launch CC desktop and sign in. ( http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/access-hidden-user-library-files.html).

  • OSX 10.8.5 CC Desktop App window empty

    Hi,
I have the following problem. I used After Effects CC for a customer project and wantet to browse the text animation presets. The system told me, that Bridge is not installed. After logging in at the Adobe CC homepage and clicking on the download button for Bridge I got the message: Unknown Server Error.
I than followed the steps on the adobe page to solve the problem and updatet the CC desktop app to the newest version. After that the app window simply stays complete empty / blank. Several restarts, deinstallation and reinstallation of the desktop app did not help. The window is still empty.
When I now click on the Bridge download button and accept opening with CreativeCloud(URIHandler) with another click, nothing happens. The window is empty and I cannot install anything.
I also tried the second solution on the CC page with deleting the opm.db file in the folder: Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE
But unfortunately there is no file with that name...?
The system, java etc. is also updatet to the latest versions
    Please help.

    Thanks for the reply.
I have quit and reopened the cc app several times without success.
Meanwhile I deleted the complete OOBE folder, deinstalled the CC application and installed again. Nothing changed.
When I turn off networking, the app works like expected and I can see the relevant menue with all menue points. But without network I cannot use them. When I turn on internet access again, the window remains blank after searching and probably finding network.
At the moment I cannot launch any CC application because the system identifies me as a test-user - at least that is what I think. If I could login using the cc desktop app, the programs should start as normal. But unfortunately the window is still blank.

  • Adobe CC desktop app is completely blank and OOBE folder is not the solution

Just bought a new mac pro and transferred all my setting/apps over via Migration Assistant. Adobe programs worked directly after transferring. However, after rebooting nothing worked. I can't remember the specific error messages because it was days ago but I think it kept asking me to install Adobe Applications Manager. Tried that and nothing changed. Tried uninstalling CC, running CC Cleaner Tool, and starting over with a fresh install. Now the desktop app installs but stays blank with no way to login or anything *EXAMPLE. Tried the OOBE folder trick *SOURCE and that doesn't make any change. Also, I have logged out from Adobe on my old machine.
Any help here would be extremely appreciated! Thanks

    Seems to be working again...!
So after restart it looked the same... in startup tab it showed the cloud manager. But was not running. Went to my downloads folder where I still had the installer downloaded before my windows restore (the one downloaded yesterday was deleted after windows restore was done). Ran the installer and exually did something this time! It is installed again. At first it looked like it wanted me to download all the programs again even though I checked if they where still working... they did. (via bridge checked updates said they where all up to date).
Changed the language in the prefs panal under apps to English. Now it all looks like before I ran into this issue.
Not sure... But my guess is that it had to do with the latest windows update.
So... no need for a chat with support anymore
But... I do hope adobe will update the cloud manager asap so I can update my windows again.

  • Tracks not being added to playlists && desktop app windows crashes

Lately I've been having this issue where I'll drag a track from one of my temp playlists, place into one of main lists and it wont get added. Also whenever I leave the desktop app running for a long peroid of time it does weird stuff like it wont be seen through Spotify Connect on my andriod and windows says the program is unresposive when I attempt to close it. Restarting the app resolves all these issues but leaving the desktop app open for a few hours at a time shouldn't cause any issues since I prefer to be streaming something 24/7.

    Hello:
A few questions which Spotify desktop app version do you currenlty have installed and on which Windows version as well?
Also what device and what Android version and Spotify App version there as well?
Also have you tried doing a clean uninstall and reinstall of the Spotify desktop app?

  • CC desktop app (windows) doesn't show latest versions of CC apps for installation. How do I fix it?

I've been a CC member since the start; about 6 months ago the CC desktop app on my main desktop PC stopped showing the latest versions of most applications (for example Photoshop, Illustrator, etc., only showed the 'CS' version), and stopped giving me alerts of updates. It still works fine on my (much lower spec) laptop.
I tried the various fixes (e.g. deleting the opm.db file in 'AppData/Local/adobe/OODB) but it didn't resolve the problem; I had a work around (downloading installation files from the Adobe website, and using the 'check updates' function in all of the apps).
With the recent up update, and the release of the '(2014)' versions, these work arounds no longer work. The CC Desktop app still does not show most current applications, and trying to download apps from the Adobe website sends me to the CC Desktop app, which then doesn't download the new application.
I foolishly thought a completely clean installation might help, so I uninstalled all my Adobe apps, ran the 'cleaner' app, & tried over ... things have gone from bad to worse, because I can't even get the old (pre-'2014') versions of the desktop applications to download in order to install.
My immediate problem is not having a working version of Photoshop on my main PC - the 'CS' version is available to me through the CC Desktop app, but not the 'CC' or 'CC (2014)' versions.
The spec of the PC is above the minimum spec for the 'CC' apps, so I don't think that is the problem.
    - Win 7 Pro SP 1, 64-bit
    - Intel i7-3770K (3.5Ghz quad core)
    - 16GB RAM
    - 650GB free disk space
    - etc.
Any ideas welcomed as to how to resolve this; I'm at my wits end ...
    Ian

Thanks for the reply Rave, but unfortunately that does not address my problem - my PC comfortably exceeds the minimum spec for the applications.
Of the three onward links from that page -
    (1) "For additional information please see Creative Cloud Help | Missing CC apps from my Creative Cloud Desktop app" is a dead link (>"Sorry, this page is not available")
    (2) "If you have confirmed that your computer meets and exceeds all of the listed System requirements then please see CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed." I had already worked through the 'solutions' on that page, culminating in the (bad) advice in 'Solution 4' which is what has got me into this current mess;
    (3) "If you have already have Download Adobe Creative Cloud application you can use Download Center : Adobe Creative Cloud for your Product Download." isn't helpful as the download links send me back to the CC Desktop app, & it still won't allow me to download the 'CC' or 'CC (2014)' applications.
Thanks again, but do you have any other suggestions?

  • Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App Window Blank, Windows 8.1 (Resolved)

    Platform: PC
    OS: Windows 8 (8.1)
I needed to download Flash, so I searched for my Desktop Application Manager.  Opened the Creative Cloud App, and saw this:
I waited for it to "load" but nothing ever loaded.  I clicked the gear to see if I could log out and log back in, but just saw three practically useless options:
[Help, Pin to Notification Area..., Quit]
I waited 2 hours for customer service, and finally got this answer:
Launch the run window. (press: window button, type: "run" OR window button + X, select "Run")
    Type %appdata%
You'll see AppData > Roaming, click AppData in the address bar.
Open Local > Adobe > OOBE
Cut opm.db and paste it to the desktop.
    >>If you receive an error, open the task manager and close ALL Adobe processes, then retry.
Open Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Application
    Log in. (ta-da!)
Delete the file that you cut and pasted to the desktop.
I hope this helps someone avoid the long wait time for customer service to fix this error that seems to have sprouted after some update corrupted the opm.db file.

    1.  quit the app (from the task bar) and relaunch.  if that fails:
    2.  Remove the OPM.db file and relogin into the Creative Cloud desktop application using the Adobe ID tied to your subscription.
Mac OS: You can locate the OPM.db file in the \User\<user name>\Library\Application Support\Adobe\OOBE folder. To access the hidden user Library folder, see Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 Lion.
Windows: You can locate the OPM.db file in the \Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE folder.  To view the hidden AppData folder, see Show hidden files, folders, filename extensions | Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7.

  • Adobe CC Desktop App is completely blank

Except for the logo and the cogwheel menu.
I have no clue what caused this.  I've tried reinstalling multiple times, cleared out the folders, I have no CC apps installed.
    - Windows 7 Home Premium Service pack 1
    - GeForce 780ti
    - 16 Gigs ram
    - Intel i5 4570Q
I also installed the app on my Windows 8.1 laptop, AFTER this happened, and I have had no issues with that.

  • AIR desktop app (Windows 7) - Big data set, XML or SQLlite?

I am developing an AIR desktop application for a Windows 7 touch screen kiosk that needs to access and allow users to search a set of data, which could initially contain anywhere between 17,000 and 100,000 records. Each record could have perhaps 15 to 20 fields, and all the data will be stored locally on the computer, and updated with new data by memory stick, perhaps once per month. The kiosk will not be connected to the internet.
Can anyone offer any advice as to the viability / limitations of using XML, SQLLite, or some other means of data storage, to access this information from an AIR application?

You can do a general search for XML vs SQLite and find that a good deal of the answers say to go with SQLite for this sort of data set and one of that size. SQLite will probably be faster from an access standpoint but has a lot more overhead on setting up and getting working. XML in AS3, in my opinion of working with it for many years, is definitely easy to work with, especially compared to how other languages implement methods of reading/writing to XML. Have you done any work with either before? Below is a link to an Adobe article on working with SQLite in an AIR application.

  • Can only see desktop background & windows are blank

My computer (a G4 MDD) is not starting up properly. It will start up but icons, the dock, and text in the menu bar will not appear. It appears the computer works. I had an alert pop up which only appeared as a white window box. I couldn't read it. I only knew what it said because I previously had set up for alerts to be read by the computer. I was able to hit enter and the window went away. Looks like I strictly can not see anything on the computer. I can't find any info on this anywhere. Hope someone can help! (Also, this happened after the computer was forced off during a software update -- of what, I'm not 100% since I wasn't there but I believe it was at least iTunes and a Security Update.)

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Firstly please update the driver and in addition you can try below registry workaround.
To do this, change the value of the following registry subkeys to 3 (Manual) or 4 (Disabled):
    •HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\cdrom
    Name: Start
    Type : REG_DWORD
    Data: 3 or 4
    •HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\parport
    Name: Start
    Type : REG_DWORD
    Data: 3 or 4
Note: If the above registry is changed to 4 (Disabled), the related device is not usable because a driver used in the device is not loaded. Therefore, if the device will be used in the future, the above registry should be set as 3 (Manual).

  • Creative Cloud Desktop App Update 1.9.1.474 sets sync folder back to default (windows)

    Hi All,
Second time this has happened with an update to Creative Cloud Desktop App (Windows).
Update completes correctly but then notice that file sync is going mad and is re-syncing everything but to the default location (usually user\username\ - in Win 8.1).
Last time this occurred I seemed to get some loss of files.
I've now let it re-sync everything to the default location and then resetting it to the previous location (where files are still present - but is on a different drive).
Surprised to hear Support (Swati) hasn't heard this occur before but thought it worth putting it out there to both warn others and see if its just me!
This was for definite with update 1.9.1.474 of Creative Cloud Desktop (And think it was with the previous mandatory release).
    Cheers,
    M

    Hi Mark,
as you correctly point out with the recent update of the Creative Cloud Desktop app (1.9.1.474) we unfortunately introduced a bug which causes the creation of a new Creative Cloud Files folder, and re-sync of all content. This will only occur the first time the sync application runs after the update. This has caused understandable pain and confusion, for which we truly apologise.
The Creative Cloud Files app contains logic that supports the use of multiple Adobe IDs. This allows you to sign out of one ID and in to another, but keeps your Creative Cloud content separate. When you sign out and change IDs, the app moves the previous Creative Cloud Files folder and it's contents and appends it with the previously signed in ID (User@AdobeID). It then creates a new main folder and starts to sync content of the new ID.
The bug which I mentioned previously occurs, as the app believes an ID switch has taken place and as such, moves the current Creative Cloud Files folder and tries to append the previously signed in ID. As no switch has actually taken place it manifests as (Unknown).  The app then creates a new main folder at syncs down the data.
Essentially what you end up with is a Creative Cloud Files folder with your newly sync'd data and a Creative Cloud Files (Unknown) folder that contains duplicate data.
This occurs once, after the last update completes.
The fix is to simply delete the Creative Cloud Files (Unknown) folder.
I would advise that you ensure you have no pending edits that you may have made offline and that you check the contents of the new, main Creative Cloud Files folder contains everything you expect it to.  If not, check the contents of the Creative Cloud Files (Unknown) folder.
If there is still a discrepancy with your data, you can check on creative.adobe.com to confirm your data is there.

  • CC Desktop Application Window Size

I am running CC on Windows 8.1 and the CC Desktop App window size is too small, such that only the CC icon is visible and I cannot resize it.
Can you advise on how to fix this?

Sorry Jattin, it's the CC application window that is too small not the icon.
I have taken a screenshot of the CC application window to show the issue...

  • Please Help- Forum Solutions Don't Solve Blank Creative Cloud Desktop App Problem!

I'm using Windows 7 and simply want to download a trial version of InDesign.  I downloaded the Creative Cloud desktop app and it's blank.  Thinking I still need to do more on the Adobe Creative Cloud web site I went and clicked on the download under the InDesign icon there.  It says it's downloading but there's nothing shown on my screen to indicate that's the case- and sure enough nothing is actually being downloaded.
I have tried several times the solution mentioned in other posts, restarted my computer but nothing makes the Creative Cloud app appear anything but blank.
Can anyone tell me what's going on and what I need to do to download a trial of InDesign?
    Thanks.

Thanks very much for the link.
I systematically implemented each of the recommended fixes:
    -  Verified I'm connected to the Internet (obviously)
    -  Verified I can access secure sites
    -  Checked "hosts" file, verified I have access to activation servers for CS6 or later (but not for not CS5.5), but in attempting to reset the hosts file, did not find any references to "activate.adobe.com.  Here's what I saw:
    -  Verified that the GlobalSign Root CA certificate is enabled ("enabled only for the following purposes") and did not change any of the checked boxes in the list.
After taking all these steps, the situation remains the same- blank Creative Cloud App.
    Any further suggestions?
    Thanks again for the assistance!
