Desktop channel wizard failure

Hi,
I tried to create JSP channel using the Desktop Channel Wizard. But everytime i click on the "Finish" button, i can't successfully create the channel and it gives me the error message "Error: An error occurred while creating the channel. Consult the iwtAdmin debugging files for more information and seek technical assistance.". Same thing happens whenever i try to create JSP, URL Scrapper or Rich Site Summary channel.What would be the possible reason that cause this? After installing the portal successfully, i didn't change any setting and tried to create JSP channel using the wizard but it fails. Please help.

Its hard to say what could be the source of the problem without looking into the debug log files ..
Do the following the paste the log files
Login into the admin console
click on Manage Platform Setting and then administrator.
Select Enable Message Debugging and click submit.
Now go to platform.conf in /etc/opt/SUNWips and change ips.debug=message and restart the server.
Now do a tail -f /var/opt/SUNWips/debug/iwtAdmin log file and try to create the channel ..
Paste the error logs that you get when you try to create the channel ..

How to administer custom Desktop Channel Attributes via Admin Console?

I have a desktop channel (JSPProvider) that requires some global settings (database connect info, etc.) to be made by an administrator after deployment and before use. Is it possible to make the custom attributes show up in the administration console (Manage Domains --> myDomain --> Applications --> Desktop --> Domain Attributes --> myChannel --> Edit Channel)? Is there a HTML-Template that I can edit?
What would be the preferred way to enter such settings?

this is a little more difficult when you are using JSPProvider rather than a direct custom channel. Basically what you need to do is go into /etc/opt/SUNWips/xml and find something like iwtUserInfoProvider.xml
Copy and edit this file for you own channel and then using ipsadmin -import bring the new channel attributes and privs into the profile service. These will then show up in the admin console. If you want to be doing this sort of stuff then I would recommend write a whole new channel provider rather than use JSPProvider

Channel Determination Failure

I have a RFC -> XI -> SOAP scenario. When I attempt to send a test message in RWB, I get a Channel Determination Failure message for the receiver (SOAP comm. channel). Looks like the Receiver channel has been started but is not used.
Both the sender and receiver Comm Channels are in active status. I have defined the Sender and Receiver services as Business Systems. Any help is appreciated.

Issues while creating Desktop Channel

Hi All,
For Desktop Channel Customization, I have did the following:
1. I have Created Custom Query where I have introduced a filter.
2. Then I have created a report and attached that query in the report.
3. Then I have created Desktop Channel and attached report to the desktop Channel.
After doing all this, if I introduced this Channel in Workbench, I m getting following Issues
1. By Default I am getting the Hide Search
2. If we click on Hide Search then we are getting space under Modify Search.(User Interface Issue)
Any help would be appreciated.

But the issues are like,
1. By default Modify Search should come rather than Hide Search.But I m getting Hide Search by default.
2. When you click on Hide Search, lot of white space is coming than normal.
3. I have tried adding the report(Channel) in One Wide column layout also, but no use.Still I m getting white space under Modify Search.
Can you pls help me out in solving this issue.

Labview DAQ channel wizard

I followed instructions in the Labview manual to access the DAQ channel wizard. For some reason I am directed to the device & automation explorer instead. I have Labview 5.1 installed on windows 95 system.

You are probably being pointed to Measurement and Automation Explorer to have your hardware configured.
MAX is the Software that allows you to configure your hardware and set some virtual channels up.

SharePoint 2013 Configuration Wizard failure while joining a WFE to the existing server farm.

Dears,
I've been troubleshooting an issue while trying to join a new WFE server to an existing SharePoint 2013 farm.
Issue Description:
When we run the wizard it runs for almost 30 to 45 minutes on the step 3 itself and eventually fails at the end with an error message "Failed to connect to the configuration Database..... Value doesn't fall within the expected range"
First I thought this is a connectivity issue with the config DB and monitored the complete operation very closely after checking the permissions and SQL server connection and happened to see that the server was able to connect to the farm and all the web
applications and the related solutions were pushed to the server and apparently the failure of the Wizard at below point: Followed by the error, all web sites and solutions were retracted and a complete roll back happens.
Can someone pls help me here at the earliest as I'm stuck ???

Hi Pradeep, this wasn't due to any permission issue.. I was trying with the farm account which is a local admin group member as well as being a member of IIS_WPG.. on a continues investigation happened to find that the IIS config file was corrupted and which
encountered issues in the creation of app pool.. I had to tweak around some settings with the config file by considering the other WFE as a reference.. this actually fixed the issue..

Install/Wizard Failure

Hi.
I get the same message using the install disk and using the download. "The wizard was interrupted before BlackBerry Desktop Software could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again." I've tried rebooting(restarting and powering down) and then trying the install again. I can't get pass this message. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Permision Wizard Failure.

Hi, we have run latest version of permission wizard and get the following 2 errors. (Unity 4.04)
Deleted Objects rights: xu.ad.ga.com/Deleted Objects.
FAILED granting List contents rights FAILED granting Read Properties rights
I have spoken to the AD/Exchange guys at the company and they cannot find this "Deleted Objects" folder anywhere.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

Hi All,
We are getting this error with Permissions Wizard 5.0(1) on a Unity 7.0(2) integration with Exchange 2003. Has anyone else found the fix to successfully run the PW.
The Failure we have is on the UnityDirSvc Account on the Deleted Objects container with the errors:
FAILED granting LIST CONTENTS rights
FAILED granting READ PROPERTIES rights
We have tried running the PW as domain admins and enterprise admins with the same result.
Any help appreciated.

Desktop help Update failure

On attemting to update Desktop help I get a failure:
Update failure.
The update failed for an unexpected reason. We recommend restarting your computer and trying the update again.
Needless to say when I restarted and retried i get the same failure
N.b. A few days ago I posted a problem because the DTH download failed and a fix for that was provided. I originally added this problem to the thread on that topic - but noone replied so I guess it was lost in the volume of posts. Therefore
I am starting a new thread in the hope someone can advise.

Again using the Component Wizard, selecting the component 'Folder_g' and resouce resources/vcr_folders_tables.idoc
I disabled it due to the error and then tried to enable it. I got this further error
"the table 'VCR_FOLDERS_ServiceHandlers' that is specified in the MergeRules table is not defined. Please either remove it form the MergeRules table or add to the ResourceDefinition table.
Does anyone know if a script exists to create the VCR_FOLDERS to upgrade the MergeRules table.

My workflow activities channel is not shown in the work bench even
though it is added in column configuration.

If I understand correctly the workflow approval is working fine, but the My Workflow Activities channel is not displayed on the workbench page. How did you add the channel to the workbench page? If you had added it to your workbench page, it will only show up for you. Others will not see it. In order to display the channel on all users workbench, it has to be added to the default workbench template. Also, if you have multiple workbench pages, make sure you have checked the right one where the channel was added. Are all users seeing the problem? You might want to check it is not access related. Have you checked the logs? Do you see any errors?

DPS Desktop Tools Install Failure

I am trying to install DPS Desktop Tools for Indesign 2014 and get the following error message:
Looking through the Console logs I find the following error message. I have repaired permissions and verified the directory.
gkbisd[129]: Unable to collect cdhash for /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Application Manager/core/Adobe Application Manager.app (error code 100024)
Any ideas?

Wrt54gs setup wizard failure

hello all,
I have just purchased a wrt54gs wireless router. I have three computers with windows 2000 OS. my problem is that I cannot get past the setup wizard. the router and modem do not see each other. I am using cable modem, with a kingston ethernet card. the card works find directly connect to the modem, but not when connected to the router. It says "unplugged. all suggestions appreciated

Hi , since you are getting "unplugged" first thing to do would eb to change the ethernet cable...
secondly reset the router and check if the "unplugged" goes away...
in case it does not....change the NIC speed of the kingston card....
go to the device manager and expand network adapters.....right click on the kingston ,select properties and then go to the advanced tab.....look for "link speed/duplex" and change the value to 10Mbps half...
now check if the "unplugged" still comes up or not...
In case it still does....you may have a defective unit.

Creative Cloud Desktop serious program failure

Hello there,
I wanted to download a test version of Photoshop - for this I need the program Creative Cloud Desktop, right? Downloaded the setup, installed it. Fine until now.
When the program opens nothing is displayed. Of course I have attached a screenshot below. I cannot login or something, I open this, and rightaway a blank screen appears. Please help me, I have already reinstalled it plenty of times, ran it as Admin... Thank you in Advance!

Please quit the Creative Cloud desktop application by clicking the settings options and select Quit. Then please follow the following steps:
They first had me go to C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Adobe and rename the folders "AAMUpdater" and "OOBE",
Then go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe and rename "OOBE" folder.
Then relaunch Creative Cloud desktop application. Let me know if it works or not.
