  • How can I save mail messages on iPad

    I (strictly, my wife) have just bought a WiFi-only iPad to replace an ageing MacBook, and I also have an iMac.  I have a need to store and organize a limited number of Mail messages in the iPad, such that they are available in the future when I do not have internet access - i.e. while travelling.  These are varied, but typically contain reference information, reservation details, receipts, directions, etc.
    Previously, this was easy to do with the MacBook.  I set up our GMail account as POP3, and filed such messages as we needed in as many Filed Mail mailboxes as I wanted.  Unfortunately, if you set up a Mail account as POP on the iPad, you can't define Filed Mail mailboxes.  And if you set up the account as IMAP, you don't have access to your filed mail when not connected to the internet.  So you're damned if you do, and damned if you don't.
    So here's the question.  Is there any organised way to save messages permanently on the iPad?  And any attachments need to be kept as well.  While strictly they no longer need to be in Mail format (i.e. can't be forwarded or replied to), that would be a less convenient approach, and those all-important attachments would have to be dealt with.  But I am willing to be flexible.
    And before anyone says that POP will not work with multiple devices, GMail POP has a feature that allows the same email to be downloaded to multiple devices as well as being held on the server if required, and all sent emails are also echoed back to all devices (the "recent" feature).  This has worked fantastically up to now.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Do you need to be able to initiate this entirely from the iPad, or would it be acceptable to have to use one of your Macs when you save one of the limited number of messages? If involving a Mac would be acceptable, I can see ways to work around the iPad's lack of local mailbox storage.
    You could use one of the various free cloud storage services that allow general file storage and local retention on the iPad (for example, Dropbox or Dump Truck, but not iCloud).
    For Dropbox, you would make a folder for this cluster of saved messages inside Dropbix. For each message you want to save, create a folder inside that cluster folder, do a "Save As..." in Mac Mail.app for the text body, then a "Save Attachments..." if appropriate. (The inner folder wouldn't be strictly necessary for messages without attachments, but I suggest it for consistency.)
    The key part is to open Dropbox on the iPad and mark the message and attachments as favorites (starred). That causes Dropbox to preload them on the iPad and retain them there until they are unstarred (lose favor).
    You could probably do something similar with Evernote and favorites.

  • Mighty Mouse Scroll wheel disfunction

    Hello
    The scroll wheel on my mighty mouse does not function correct at the moment. When I scroll down, it works, although it skips a bit up and down. But when I try to scroll up, either nothing happens, or it scrolls down. This has happened before, where I've just turned it over onto a piece of paper and pushed around the scroll button a little, until it worked. But this time, that won't do the trick. It also makes a faint clicking noise.
    Any suggestions?

  • How do you return a STB?

    I no longer need one of my STBs.  How and where do I return this box back to Verizon?  I live in North Reading, MA  01864.  Thanks.

    The list of stores where you can return boxes is here:  http://www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHelp/FiOSTV/General+Support/Account+Issues/QuestionsOne/84843.ht...
    I see only Newton, MA.  If that's near you, just take it over there and get a receipt.  Otherwise you have to call customer service and they tell you how to mail it in to them.  If you mail it, be sure you get a detailed receipt from UPS, or whichever shipper they send you to (serial number on the cable box is good proof).  A few people have had problems with the mail in process and Verizon claiming not to have received the unit.

  • BBz10 Unlcoking issues with ATT

    I had bought my new BB z10 at an AT&T store for an outright purchase after confirming that the phone shall be UNLOCKED by calling AT&T customer support after 24 hours of purchase. When called after 24 hours I am told by the support representative that this phone cannot be unlocked due to an agreement between AT&T and BB. This is an exclusive phone for AT&T.
    I am Cheated!
    I would request someone to confirm if my phone can be unlocked (Purchased Outright) or should I go for a return policy?

    so I have looket at the terms & conditions for an ATT subscriber, for mobile phone services.
    it's here:
    http://www.att.com/shop/en/legalterms.html?toskey=wirelessCustomerAgreement
    the relevant section is section 3 "TERMS RELATING TO YOUR DEVICE AND CONTENT", specifically subsection 3.1:
    I quote:
    3.1   Your Device
    Your Device must be compatible with, and not interfere with, our Services and must comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. We may periodically program your Device remotely with system settings for roaming service, to direct your Device to use network services most appropriate for your typical usage, and other features that cannot be changed manually.
    You agree that you won’t make any modifications to your Equipment or its programming to enable the Equipment to operate on any other system. AT&T may, at its sole and absolute discretion, modify the programming to enable the operation of the Equipment on other systems.
    If you bought a Device from AT&T, it may have been programmed with a SIM lock which will prevent it from operating with other compatible wireless telephone carriers’ services. If you wish to use this Device with the service of another wireless telephone carrier, you must enter a numeric Unlock Code to unlock the phone. AT&T will provide the Unlock Code upon request, provided that you meet certain criteria including, but not limited to the following:
    (a) your account has been active for at least sixty days and is in good standing (i.e. it has no past due amount or unpaid balance owed AT&T);
    (b) you have fulfilled your Service Commitment by expiration of any contractual term, upgrading to a new Device under AT&T’s standard or early upgrade policies, or payment of any applicable ETF;
    (c) your Device has not been reported lost or stolen;
    and (d) AT&T has the Unlock Code or can reasonably obtain it from the manufacturer. AT&T will unlock a maximum of five phones per account, per year.
    For Devices sold with a Prepaid Plan, AT&T will provide you with the Unlock Code upon request if you provide a detailed receipt or other proof of purchase of the phone and AT&T has the Unlock Code or can reasonably obtain it from the manufacturer. For further details on eligibility requirements and for assistance on obtaining the Unlock Code for your handset, please call 1-800-331-0500 or visit an AT&T company store.
    what I understand is that:
    after 60 days, if you don't owe money to ATT, upon request, ATT will unlock your phone for free.
    it is easier if your plan is a prepaid one
    That being said, generally speaking:
    provided you have the cash available (=less than 700USD), buying an unlocked phone will always be 30% cheaper than buying a locked phone (even with a 36 months contract), with a phone-less SIM card.
    some other carriers do not require that 60-day delay

  • Terrible (unresolved) repair experience

    My case number is 8003332965, I am hoping that Lenovo employees read this forum as the call center go between has gotten extremely frustrating.
    I recently received my Y560p back from the repair center in Grapevine. My orginal problems were frequent BSOD, overheating, artifacts, inability to run at all in normal mode, inability to start up 9 out of 10 times (would crash before logon or screen would stay blank), left click not working. I thought I probably needed a new hard drive, motherboard, fan and graphics card, (ideally a new machine altogether) and that maybe there was some greater problem, possibly with heat disappation, since my laptop was repaired for the same issues about a year prior, and they only took around 6 months to come back w/ normal use and no drops, spills, etc.
    When the repair staff diagnosed my computer, the only repair they offered was a new hard drive- I thought this was a lazy assesment of the issues and that just a new hard drive would not fix my problems, so I called the call center and asked them to re-evaluate my machine. They came back with a new diagnosis (you can see it in our email correspondance) that quoted me $489 for a new hard drive, motherboard and LCD screen, base cover and bezel which I guess was admission that they had done lazy, incomplete work on the diagnosis the first time around. I also needed to request multiple times a detailed receipt that I could fax my credit card company that was extending my warranty- the call center employees seemed to have trouble understanding this simple request. Every email or call throughout the process has taken many days to respond to, which caused me to be without my computer for weeks more than was neccessary. This has impaired my ability to perform at my job, study for a big test I have coming up, and all the other social, entertainment, etc issues that come without having a laptop for weeks. This process would be a lot smoother if you would let people actually talk to Lenovo employees, ideally at the repair center, rather than playing telephone through the Phillipines call center.
    Anyway, I paid for the repair that was quoted, and received my laptop back in the mail 3-4 days later. The repair sheet only checked off that the LCD cover was replaced, I thought this was surely a mistake given that I had been diagnosed as needing, quoted for and paid for a new hard drive, motherboard, etc, and had wasted cumulatively hours of my time via phone and email making sure this would be done correctly. I turn on my laptop, and sure enough the hard drive and motherboard have not been replaced as promised- it works for a little bit, but then I am right back to blue screens, artifacts, etc- all the old problems but less frequent. It is insane to me that as long as this has taken, as many errors were made throughout the process, and as clearly as I was promised that the quoted repairs would be made, that I was returned a laptop hardly more functional than it was when I sent it in. In browsing consumer complaints on the Better Business Bureau site (hopefully I won't have to submit my own), it seems that many have shared similar experiences.
    Presently I am waiting for a call back about what my options are after I called to point out that the laptop was sent back without the promised repairs made, and that the issues were still present. But I am fairly certain this will be a call from the call center, not an actualy Lenovo employee as I deserve, and that all they will offer is to have me ship the system back, and wait another 1-3 weeks for them to do what they actually said they would. That is an unnacceptable resolution, I think at this point I think a fair offer would be significant compensation and a new machine. I'm not sure if incompetance, miscommunication between the call center and repair depot, or trying to cheat customers is to blame, but if I knew at the outset that this was the service I would receive, I wouldnt have gone through with it if YOU had paid ME $500- the time I've spent dealing with this and the time I've gone without a laptop that wasn't even repaired as promised is worth A LOT more to me.
    Moderator comment: Please refrain from bumping your thread(s) / post(s) more frequently than 3 days. Doing so, unfairly, pushes other members' threads downwards. Bumping post(s) removed.

    Just when I thought this process couldn't get anymore absurdly terrible, you guys one up yourselves once again. If you are aiming for a worst customer service in the universe award you are doing an excellent job.
    Before today the latest on my repair saga (please review my posts above for the whole story) was that Lenovo had sent a technician to repair my machine on site. He successfully completed the repair (replacing the motherboard and hard drive) and restored the machine to full working condition. However, he recommended the additional installation of a new heat sink and of a screw that had been stripped, which Lenovo agreed to provide on my sending the computer back to them. So- they received from me my property in fully functional condition with an agreement to replace one minor part on the technicians recommendation that not doing so could lead to damage a year or two down the road.
    Fast forward over a month of waiting, and they send back to me a fully dissembled machine, not even packed with care- parts flying around everywhere. They refunded me the repair cost, but clearly you owe me a new machine in addition to remedy for having gone through a three month miserable process described in my previous posts. You received my property in working condition and sent it back to me broke and dissasembled. This latest event is as if I to took my car into the shop for an oil change, then the mechanic returned it to me in 1000 pieces in a box. But refunded me for the oil change!
    Please have whoever supervises the case managers in NC call me tomorrow. I have reached the absolute end of my patience- extreme delays are one thing- your having destroyed my property without replacing it is way beyond incompetent, and likely illegal.

  • Goods Receipt DTW - Possible to update existing batch details?

    Hello experts,
    Using the three templates OIGE, IGE1, and BTNT I've managed to perform some Inventory Adjustments BY BATCH using DTW.
    The issue I am having is that some of the fields in BTNT are not updating in SAP despite a successful DTW instance depending on whether the batchnumber is pre-existing or is new.
    If the batch already exists, quantities are being receiving as expected but additional data such as "Notes", "InternalSerialNumber", and even some user-defined fields we have created for Appearance, Inventory Tag Number, etc. will not update.  I have checked DTW mapping and it is setup correctly.
    In fact, if the batch number defined in BTNT is NEW to the system these additional details load up as expected, only when it is a quantity update on the batch number do they not.  I thought that since the quantity of a pre-existing batch is being update successfully via this method the other "Batch Details" should update as well.
    Can anyone provide insight as to whether it is possible (and if so how) to update these batch details during a Goods Receipt or Goods Issue DTW for pre-existing batches or will it only do it for a brand new batch #?
    Thanks very much,
    Richard

    Hi Richard,
    Welcome you post on the forum.
    I am afraid you could only update batch details when you imported them as new. You may only update the existing batch details through UI.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Good receipt details

    Hi experts,
    Iam trying to extract the data from good receipt(MIGO).
    In my document number there is no Material existing.But
    material description is existing.
    Where can i find this material description for the particular document number?
    Is there any FM existing for this?
    Thanks
    kaki

    Hi Kaki
      Please let us know, if the material number is not visible when you display the material document via transaction MB03.
      Please try with FM: <b>MATERIAL_READ</b> as this is used internally while material document display.
      Pass the details as below:
      Export Structure: SCHLUESSEL
      KENNG = 'MBEFU'
      WERKS = Plant
      SPRAS = 'E'
      NOMUS = 'X'
      I guess this should return error mesg as per below code in "<b>RMMMGL00</b>" routine: <b>INIT</b>.
    IF MTCOM-MATNR = SPACE.
       MESSAGE E752 RAISING INVALID_MTCOM.
    ENDIF.

  • What are the tables  related to Goods receipt details

    Hi,
    Please tell me the GR related data base tables.
    What are the tables  related to Goods receipt details
    Regards,
    Sunil Kumar.T
    Edited by: sunil kumar on Apr 28, 2008 8:49 AM

    Hi,
    If you want to know tables which are related to transaction.
    Use recording through SHDB tcode.
    go to shdb tcode
    after enter name of your zname.
    after for which transaction you are doing recording enter that tcode here migo.
    after press start recording.
    then enter data into fields after at last save and back.
    then it goew to control recording session screen
    after press program for create.
    then enter attributes ,select source code after save your code.
    Using this tables and which fieldsa you are using for perticular requirement.
    this is an easy procedure to know tables and fields.
    or
    USE ST05 tcode by entering single filed into application.
    These two approaches are usefull but go to first one if you knew which data you have to entered.
    Otherwise go to st05.
