Developing application?

I am trying to develop my application before my Field Point module being installed. Is there a simulator I can use? My application is to inject a voltage onto a sample and holding it for 5 minutes. I need to regulate the voltage within the deadband all the time. When the 5 minutes elapsed increase the voltage to the next step and holding it for 5 minutes. And the test continue until the sample fail. The simulator I am looking for is the voltage signal that will allow me to manipulate to a set point.

Missing Sub VI error when running Application.exe in development PC

Hi,
I have created an application(exe) on my computer, which is also where I have also designed the different blocks of code for this application.
All the blocks of code work just fine when made to run through Labview 2013 development software. After adding all the VI files associated with the project in the project explorer of a new project and configuring the build specifications, I was able to create the executable. But, when I try running this executable/application(.exe) file, I get the missing subVI message. I found that some of these missing sub VIs are the Instrument driver VIs which work absolutely fine when run through the LabVIEW development sofware.
How can I resolve this issue?
Attachment "Error Screenshot" shows the Missing sub VI message.
Attachment "Project & Error Screenshot" shows the Missing sub VI message along with the list of dependencies in the project, which shows the error being displayed eventhough the sub VI is present in the dependency list.
Any comments in this regard are highly appreciated.

If they are (Non dynamically called)-dependancies of always included dynamic calls, Yes, the build will include them.
I hate to say it but, Start with the rs dynamic vis and keep adding if that meerely helps reduce the list of the missing vis.

Application developer issues in 8.2

I developed a Vi in 8.01 and was able to depoly it succesfully. After I upgraded to 8.2 the first time I depolyed it everything was good but then I made changes to the build specs and tried to deploy it agin and started gettting errors "LabVIEW load error code 3: Could not load front panel." for several Vi's. I know you are thinking that I made changes that could have caused this but the only changes made to the build specs was to add a support file to the list.
I read up on this error on the boards and in a round about way came to the conclusion that the build was removing the front panels of vi's that needed them. I (painfully) went through and changed the settings to not have the front panels removed on all the vi's that were having the errors and the deployment works.
So If I have a solution why am I posting? Well my question is, what possibly changed that it suddenly was removing panels that it needs and is this supposed to be a new feature? It caused me quite a headache. Also in the source file settings, I was having trouble setting the Remove Panel properties of vis. I had to set the properties for the folder to get it to change and then I noticed that if I selected a vi in a folder and then selected one outside the folder when I selected the one in the folder again its value would changed but only if it was previously unselected. Tell me I have ghosts in my machine. Help!

Thank you for contacting National Instruments. I am sorry you were experiencing those issues with your application builder. Although you are using LabVIEW 8.2 (upgraded from 8.0.1), you should not be getting those errors, especially since you were able to successfully build applications in 8.0.1. It would be very helpful if you could drill down which vi (LabVIEW vi) is causing you to change these options. With this information, I can dig a little bit deeper to see if there has been a change in the function from 8.0.1 to 8.2. Please let me know what you find.

Developing a replica of SMS application

Hi All ,
I am working on getting a BB application, which can be a replica of the inbult messaging service , developed which can perform the following :
-> Real time message sync through the BB application.
-> On the basis of the message sync , the BB application should be able to send SMS along with the number propogation. The UX / technical design of the BB application does not expect any confirmation dialog before the message is sent.
-> The BB application should be able to intercept the incoming SMS and sync it to the server DB.
Any help , professional or kind , on the above will be of good relief to us.

I am not familiar with any of the GSM modems, but it does seem that getting one that will allow you to connect to a Serial port and communicate using RS-232 would be the way to go. You will have to know the command set that the modem would use to communicate to be able to send and receive SMS message, but once you know this you could use the VISA commands to communicate with the serial port and to the modem. So if you are looking for some general steps to follow...
Research the modems. Find one that will allow you to connect to the PC (maybe by RS-232, or even TCP/IP, both of which allow you to connect with VISA commands). Someone more familiar with GSM modems might be able to suggest one that would work for this application.
The modem will need to have the ability to be controlled using RS-232 (or TCP/IP) commands. This may be specific to the modem, or conform to a standard (AT, I think), either way this is something that you will have to know before you start programming.
Once you have everything connected, you should be able to communicate using VISA commands, which would require you to have the NI-VISA drivers installed.
I would recommend trying initially to communicate using Measurement & Automation Explorer first. Once you have that working, try to run an example program such as Basic Serial Write and Read.vi, or an equivalent. Check out the block diagram to get an idea of how to program using VISA..
Program the commands required to send and receive SMS messages.
This is just a general outline of what you could do to get something like the application you described working. I hope this helps!

You have multiple options:
Since, it is supported by Keil (Atmel AT91SAM9263) you can follow the LabVIEW for ARM Microcontrollers porting guide (http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/6994). You may be especially interested how Phytec board has been ported.
Also, if you want other RTOS, you can use Microprocessor SDK and read again about Phytec (http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/AB597F3FD5D9011886257448005F4A0C).

Iam developing an application using NI-DAQ(AT-MIO-16E)card on vc++ environment.My requirement to extract amplitude of AM signal(1khz(4step waveform) on 70Mhz carrier).Mr Ben suggested about sampling.

Your two best resources for developing any Data Acquisition application are the manuals for your board and the examples shipped with NI-DAQ. Your board's manual should have information regarding wiring. That is, it has a section dedicated to how to connect signals to your board.
The examples shipped with NI-DAQ show several Input/Output methods. These should give you a general idea (if not a specific application to your project) of how a Data Acquisition system would look (AI config, start, read, close, etc). These examples can be found in the \examples directory.

Report developed in 6i and open and run in 10g, Web Layout is not working

Initially reports were developed in Reports 6i now we need to convert into 10g. I just opened the .rdf in Reports10g. Report is successfully running in paper layout and showing the data. But when i try to run the report in Web Layout im getting a BLANK INTERNET EXPLORER SCREEN. Why is it so? What should i do to run my report successfully in Web Layout? Can not see two fields in Crystal 2008 Developer explorer/designer view

I am currently developing crystal 2008 reports against the salesforce.com database using version 12.0.0.683 CR Developer Full version. I am using an updated driver that was provided in July or Aug 08 in order to view self referencing fields. The problem is that when I try and report against one of the tables (lead history) I cannot view two of the fields (New Value and Old Value)? I can see these two field (New Value and Old Value) in the database expert as the last two fields in the actual table, but the two fields are missing when I go into the explorer/designer view. In Salesforce, these two fields can not be filtered on, but I can export all the values in this table using Salesforece Apex data loader.

New Development and CA

We are in process of developing new eCommerce application on ATG. We also have a business requirement to manage images and products using BCC. Most of the business requirements in phase 1 of the project is to configure and deploy application code along with CA ( BCC / Merchandising). My question is whether it is advisable to do new application development along with CA configuration at the same time. What does ATG best practice say in this regard. My opinion is that we should do new application development (deliver new functionality) first to be followed by CA initiative. I have never directly worked on CA projects but I have been part of large teams with multiple initiatives where CA being one of the initiative and I have seen there are quite a few steps that one need to follow in configuring and deploying CA / BCC e.g. versioning of modules, modifying DB schema to support versioning etc. I don't want to run into issues where our main focus is to deliver new functionality and want to avoid the complexity of doing both new development and CA at the same time.

The best practice recommendation would be to include any BCC/CA implementation as early as possible in your project plan. Understanding the process of how the business users will be using the tools and what impact any customizations to the ATG code your applications make are very important in a successful rollout of a site usign the BCC and Merchandizing. We tend to see that the projects which attempt to implement BCC/CA at the last minute are the ones that encounter the most problems. Projects which include the BCC and CA in the early stages of the applciation design, project planning, and UAT and load testing go through a much smoother test cycle and launch.

Application Developed in Apex 3.2 is not working Apex 4.1

We have few application developed using oracle apex 3.2 and oracle 10g enterprise edition as the database also have a Apache tomcat server configured in the system. These application are running fine have no issue in production instance.
I recently installed Oracle Apex 4.1 and Oracle 10g Express Edition in my local machine to test these application in oracle 4.1. I took the same database dump and installed in the local machine no issues with the database side. I installed the application that are developed in 3.2 and installed in new local instance but this is not working.
It show >>Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
Please suggest me what might be the issue how to trouble shoot this issue.
