Device connectivity via ap-bridge
Hi,
In one of our factory, there are handheld scanning devices which work over wireless to move data over to end servers.
The setup has two-5508 WLC in HA mode, about few 1500 series & 3500 series AP's.
handheld device is assigned an ip address & connected using copper cable to the ethernet port of 3502.
The 3502 here is functioning as a work bridge & connects to either other 3502/1500 which act as normal mesh AP's.
3502 shows connectivity to the wireless & back end infrastructure, however the handheld device can not be communicated from within our network.
Is there any special configuration required for this. Please help with suggestions.

Another thing to note is , the scanner ip can be pinged from within the bridge itself, but it can't be from the local network infrastructure. All Ap's are in mesh mode. Below is the configuration from a bridge that is used for this purpose.
we tried adding static arp entry on to the bridge itself, it works for sometimes but then stops.

Final Cut Not Recognizing Camera/Devices Connected Via FireWire
I have a Macbook and a Macbook Pro and I'm having the exact same issue with both of them. I'm trying to capture DV footage into Final Cut Pro 5 via a Sony Digital Video Cassette Recorder GV-D1000 NTSC, I've also tried capturing into iMovie with the firewire device not being recognized there either.
Device control is "FireWire NTSC Basic" and Capture/Input is "DV NTSC 48 khz" I've captured footage plenty of times and never had a problem until now. I've tried just about every audio/video setting there is including anamorphic as I saw suggested in a similar thread and nothing has changed. I've also tried different firewire cables, different devices including canon/sony and a panasonic cameras. When I connect a new device it shows "vtr ok" for a few seconds and then switches to "no communication". I've tried trashing my preferences and repairing permissions. I've updated quicktime/restarted the macs/unplugged the devices etc. I've also tried playing the tape on the sony box first and then opening FCP and attempting to capture, the footage stops playing and I get an error message that "video is not available". I'm capturing to a 500gb external harddrive that I've used before with no problems and is connected via usb. At one point it did allow me to start the capture now process, but it kept dropping a million frames and aborting, now it won't even let me get that far. I'm literally pulling my hair out, can some one PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME??!!?Exactly what version of QT are you running now?...and FCP5.?
Have you tried the Guiness solution yet?..shut everything down and unplug, wait 15 minutes, plug all back in, then turn on camera/deck first.
Confirm that System Profiler recognizes the camera/deck and the deck is set in VTR mode (not camera mode), then open FCP.
Could be a bad FW port (have you tried other ports on the mac?)
Or, could be QT incompatibility...

Does Airport Express support multiple ethernet connections via a switch?
If I use the following configuration, with the Airport Express extending my network, will it handle multiple devices connected via a switch?
Modem---Airport Extreme- - -802.11n- - -Airport Express---Switch---multiple devices (eg. network printer and iMac).
Or do I need to use a second Airport Extreme instead?It works for me—even when the AirPort Express device is configured to extend the wireless network created by the AirPort Extreme router.

My early 2009 Mac Pro does not connect via bluetooth to my sound bar or bluetooth mini speakers. Both my wireless keyboard and mouse have no problems connecting. What do I need to do to connect to external bluetooth devices?
I would always have a wired keyboard and mouse on hand (need not be expensive ... any cheap wired devices will work). "Emergency recovery" procedures can activate features in random order, so the opportunity to select a recovery partition may pass before the wireless devices are recognized.
That will let you select the "turn on Bluetooth" icon. -
I have the new IPad and can't connect via bluetooth to any of my apple devices (IPhone 4s and appleTV) neither from my new IPhone 4s. When I turn the Bluetooth on, both devices keep in searching mode... I don't know what to do now... Please help... I can't pair any device because they can't find whitin themselves.

Background is I can't hook up my time capsule directly to my internet connection via network cable. I tried to extend the network via Wifi, but that did not work. At the moment I have two wireless networks, one with internet connection and another one with my time capsule. So to use time machine I have to change my network all the time.
Can I buy an Airport Express, use is as a client to my internet connection wifi and provide that connection via network cable to my time capsule and all it's wifi clients?The AirPort Express will connect to your existing wireless network if the network is using WPA2 Personal or WPA/WPA2 Personal wireless security settings.
So, it can join the network as a client and then provide an Ethernet signal to your Time Capsule.
Be sure to configure the Time Capsule to operate in Bridge Mode so that it will be operating on the same network. -
I just purchased the 2TB TC and set it up on bridge mode to my att verse which is connected via ethernet cable. The TC is continually blinking amber and an error message states that a wireless network cannot be found but the uverse is functioning great. The network name I assigned to the TC is also not appearing among available networks. How do I remedy this, please?
What OS on the computer you are using to setup the TC?
Did you turn on ipv6 for wireless to link-local... this is essential for network access now??
Try power cycling the network.. start up in correct order.. uverse.. 2min wait.. TC.. 2min wait.. computer.
No luck factory reset and start over. Use ethernet cable as well to the computer to help it.
No luck I can show you manual method. -

I see the article mentions iOS8 so I know it's been updated recently. I also see that this hasn't worked in the past. Curious that the articles suggests it can be done now.

RussellJust talked to Bose and learned the solution.
Reset the speaker ....hold down the bluetooth button until you hear a tone. Delete the Bose in the Bluetooth Device directory on the iPad. When it is automatically rediscovered it will connect.

Just bought new iPod touch. When I connect to computer to sync it tells me "iTunes could not connect to this iPod touch. Could not send a message to device." Not sure if it is b/c of an older version of iTunes but connecting via wifi sync unacceptable
What version of iTunes is on the computer? You need at least 11.4.

I have an Appl,e AirPort Extreme Base Station (Simultaneous Dual_Band( MC340LL/A. After updating the software, no devices can connect via wifi.
As suggested in another discussion area, (AirPort), I reset the AEBS to factory defaults. On the TV, I went to >Settings>General>Network>Configure Wireless>Wireless Networks. I could then see the generic "Apple Network xxxxx" on the TV. From my MacBookPro, I verified that I could connect to the TV by launching iTunes and noting that the TV was now visible in the "Devices" menu. Went back to the AEBS and ran through the "Setup" routine. I did NOT use the "Previous Settings" but instead, saved the old settings profile, created a new wireless network and new settings profile and enabled WPA2 Personal encryption. I then went back to the TV and went through the "Settings" routine again (as noted above). This time, after entering my WPA2 password, the TV connected to the network and problem was solved. Thanks.

Apple TV (1G) doesn't appear in devices list when connected via ethernet
After upgrading to OS X Lion and iTunes 10.4 my Apple TV (1G) doesn't appear in the devices list when connected via ethernet. When I switch to wireless lan the device is shown and the sync process starts but can't copy the new films. The copy operation stops every time and sometines the device disappears from the list.
Despite of the upgrading of OS X and iTunes all the settings are unchanged.
Anyone an idea?Since my last update, I've gathered more information. I'm almost certain this is not entirely a 10.7.1 issue, if an issue in 10.7.1 at all. 10.7.1 may have changed something that caused this issue to appear,but where I was having this problem weekly if not daily, I no longer have the problem. I changed routers. I was using a new D-Link Xtreme N Gigabit RouterDIR-655. This router was causing me pain with lock ups. I replaced it with a Cisco Linksys E4200. I have not had a lockup in over 2 months now and not one sync issue with Apple TV nor my new iPhones, which sync wireless to iTunes on my Mac Pro.
Thinking about how my network is wired leads me to believe the issue was in the router, or maybe a network communication change in 10.7.1 that the DIR-655 was not supporting correctly. My MacPro and a few other hardwired access points in my house go directly to the router. My AppleTV and Airport Extreme are connected to a Gigabit switch and the Gigabit switch is then connected to the router. I also turn off the wireless capabilities in my routers, as I prefer to let my Airport Extreme handle those duties. This all means my normal hardwired communication path from my Mac Pro to Apple TV was going through the router, to the switch, to the Airport Extreme and then to my AppleTV. My Apple TV is connected to the LAN port on the Airport extreme. By going wireless on the MacPro, I was bypassing the router altogether.
As I started out saying, since I replaced my router, my sync issues have also gone away. If your having Apple TV sync issues, you might want to look at the router as well. Also, while I can’t remember the exact settings, I had opened up or enabled UPnP and other router settings in the DIR-655 to see if that would resolve the sync issues and it did not. In the end, I just spent the money and bought a new router and life is good now. -
Problem with Homesharing/Airplay with dif IDevices (Itunes with a PC, Iphone, Ipad, Itouch etc) using my home wifi connections that has several access point throu out the house and they all are connected via UTP cable to the same modem/router (My LAN).
When i try to use airplay or homesharing both devices have to in the same ACCESS POINT (it does not mather if its WIRED or WIRELESS, i have the same problem with both).
Any ideas?? This did not happen before i upgraded ITUNES in order to use IOS5.
ThanksThanks for the advice. But i dont have any devices sync wifi. It also happens with older versions of IOS on iphone 4.2.1 and 3.1.3 and also IOS5 (no wifi sync enable).
Basiclly when i try to airplay music using itunes (pc) to my apple tv 2g (4.3.3.) they both have to be in the same access point, if the apple tv is connect via UTP cable i have to be connected to that access point wifi. Basicly dosent work with dif access points. Also if i manage to be on the same access point (itunes using a pc and the apple tv) if i have to use Remote App to change songs i have to be in the access point to.. can not see the devices...
