Device Media Processor is busy

I just recently purchased a new torch 9850 and have only had it some six days.  Overall its been working wonderfully so far whoever after a while the music player portion of the phone becomes unresponsive in playing a song with the notification of Device Media Processor is Busy.  Thing is there isn't anything else playing whenever this comes about.  Now I've been able to temporarily get rid of the problem by removing the battery while the phone is still on and performing a cold boot.  Thing is I've had to do this 3 times now, so its starting to get rather annoying particularly for the fact I shouldn't have to do this or be experiencing this problem at all.  Any ideas of what I should do would be greatly appreciated.

  • 8830 World Edition - device media processor is busy

    For the last week I can't play back anything on my 8830. It happened after I updated my software to get the voice recorder. The first day the voice recorder recorded and played back, but since then I get the above message. I get the same message trying to play music. I'm also getting a Blue Screen of Death on my laptop when I try to use any of the menu items in Roxio Media Manager, which is surely related.
    I've copied everything off and reformatted my SD card and copied back one folder, but I get the same result. Any ideas?
    I'm currently at  v4.5.0.160 on the phone and v4.7.0.37 on the laptop.
    Thanks
       Martin

    I found a decent work around for this until RIM fixes the real issue.
    1) Backout of the media player app
    2) From the Applications Screen, highlight and click on the "VOICE DIALING" icon
      - wait for Voice Dialing to initialize, then exit the ap.
    3) Now when you go back into the media player, all will be OK again...
    Good luck.

  • Another Media Processor 8100 Upgrade Issue

    Hi,
    A few days ago I posted here about a problem upgrading a Media Processor 8100 (from 6.2.1 to 6.2.4). I was able to solve my problem, but now I've encountered a different problem upgrading a second 8100 box.
    After I ran the upgrade through the web gui, the webserver refused to display any page. So I RDP'd onto the desktop of the box, copied in the upgrade exe file, and ran it directly from the command line. This appeared to work OK (the logfile ended with 'Log Closed') but after reboot I'm getting the following error, when I try to access the web gui:
    Compiler Error Message:
    CS0103: The name 'InletPage' does not exist in  the current context
    Source Error:
    Line 31:     {
    Line 32:       // Code that runs when a new session is started
    Line 33:       this.Session.Timeout = InletPage.PageTimeoutInterval;
    Line 34:     }
    Line 35:
    I've rerun this procedure a few times, and there's been a few reboots, but no improvement. Logfile from latest upgrade attempt, is attached.
    Thanks.

  • JSR 234 -- Media Processor Input Types for Sony Ericsson k790

    Hi,
    This method 'getSupportedMediaProcessorInputTypes()' is supposed to return a string array of all the supported media processor input types. However, on the k790, it just returns null.
    In the docs, to support JSR 234, you're required to support at least JPEG and Raw image input types, but those are not working; they throw the media exeception unable to create Media Processor for input type ...
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Here is what i tried.
    import javax.microedition.media.Manager;
    import javax.microedition.amms.GlobalManager;

  • Forbide - Mobile Removable Devices / Media Removable Devices

    Hi everyone!
    I have a problem about IT-security.
    In our company we are using Windows 7 Professional/Enterprise Edition.
    We could easily block/forbid using of Storage Devices such as Pen Drives, USB-Flash Drives, SD-Cards via USB port on a Software Level, but we couldn't block/forbid using of
    Mobile Removable Devices / Media Removable Devices such as Mobile Phones, SmartPhones, Tablets, MP3 Plyaers!
    When you connect SmartPhone to PC via USB cable, it is detected as Removable Device (NOT as a Storage Device!) and can be easily used for copying Information from PC.
    The question is : "Is it possible to block/forbid Mobile Removable Devices / Media Removable Devices via USB on a Software level, without disable USB ports in BIOS?" Any solution(personal PC configuration or Group Policy) would be
    great.
    Hope for your help!
    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Hi Aziz,
    Before going further, sorry for the late response. I was on holiday on those days.
    >>Is it possible to deny Mobile Removable Devices / Media Removable Devices by a group policy?
    Yes, it is.
    On a DC, create a new GPO or find an existing GPO. Then edit the setting in the GPO, and link the GPO to the target scope (site, domain, OU).
    Note: if we configure the setting under Computer Configuration, it applies to computers,
    regardless of who logs on to the computers. While if we configure the setting under User Configuration, it applies to users, regardless of which computer they log on to.

    The basic problem is that this program, like all of the JMF examples, is very haphazardly coded. From what I can gather somewhere in the excecution of the program there was a major thread conflict. JMF is not thread safe and requires the use of wait for state methods. In all honesty, I have never had a sample program compile and run succesfully as is. I think it would just be easier to re-write this code, except this time use the StateHelper class which can be found in the JMF guide. The StateHelper class manages all of the Player and Processor threads so you don't have to worry about it. I wish I could be of more help here but I think this is just a case of some sloppy code.

  • Media Processor 8100 Upgrade Issue

    Hi,
    I'm attempting a firmware upgrade on a Media Processor 8100 (from 6.2.1 to 6.2.4). Unfortunately it seems to have failed. When I try to access the web gui (https://x.x.x.x/encadmin) it brings me straight into the recovery page, with a message "InletEncoder is not accessible. Restart Encoding Service 1." and the only thing I can do on this page is press the Reboot button. Several reboots have not improved the situation.
    I can also RDP to the Windows desktop on the 8100. Anybody know if there's a way to recover this box? Can I copy the InletSpinnakerUpdate.exe directly to the desktop and run it locally?
    Thanks.
    ES

    Hello Eanna,
    The upgrade didn't complete successfully, there is a swupdate file in the
    C:\inetpub\wwwroot\encadmin\updates directory that you can view with notepad. If you go to the end of that file and look for a log closed statement this will help confirm the upgrade. If you run it from the remote desktop this file will not generate. Please attempt to run the upgrade again from the remote desktop web gui first before running the .exe from the desktop to generate this log..
    Thanks,
    Rodney

  • X86_64: Skype2.0 - "RtApiOss: OSS playback device (/dev/dsp) is busy."

    I should say that I managed to get Skype to work by installing the 32-bit alsa-oss and passing Skype through it (i.e. "aoss skype").
    What's confusing to me is that, according to ArchWiki, versions 2.0 and up have native ALSA support. This means that alsa-oss should no longer be necessary, right?
    Running plain Skype in a terminal, I always get the error "RtApiOss: OSS playback device (/dev/dsp) is busy."
    dsp_hijacker has no effect in this case, nor does adding
    pcm.dmixout {
    # Just pass this on to the system dmix
    type plug
    slave {
    pcm "dmix"
    to my ~/.asoundrc (as the wiki suggests). The latter does nothing; running Skype by itself with this modification produces the same error, and Skype with aoss32 works without an .asoundrc.
    Is there some obvious solution that I'm missing?
    Last edited by cautha (2009-04-03 08:22:32)

    @themaister: thanks for pointing that out!
    I removed those modules from rc.conf and added my soundcard modules (according to wiki):
    MODULES=(snd-ice1724 snd-intel8x0 snd-pcm-oss)
    I now have "dev/dsp" and "/dev/dsp1", but still no "/dev/sound/dsp" (though I'm not sure if I need this).
    Hmmmm... It works! I don't know what did it. I retried several steps of the wiki. The last steps I tried were adding my cards with indices to /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf and having alsaconf set up /dev/modprobe.d/sound.conf. Outputs are stille the same as in my first thread. Maybe I got mixed up along the way with pulseaudio installation/removal and blacklisting modules...

  • Plugging XSLT / XML processors into Business Connector 4.7

    Hi,
    I need to use Xalan 2.6.0 and the associated XML parsers
    in the Business Connector.
    Does anyone know whether any built-in services or
    SAP Adapter services would be negatively impacted by
    this change? I have found nothing in the documentation.
    (Among the reasons I need to do this are that the
    processors in package com.inqmy.lib.jaxp do not seem to
    be JAXP 1.2 compliant. Also, they neither respect the
    encoding-attribute of <xsl:output>, nor allow to override
    it from the outside. When generating HTML, this has
    created problems for some clients).
    In order to use Xalan/Xerces, one needs to set the
    variable PREPENDCLASSES in server.bat to contain
    the Xalan jars, and change the value of the configuration
    variable watt.xslt.jaxp.properties in the server.cnf file.
    The value of this variable is the name of a file in normal
    Java properties syntax, which contains values for the
    relevant System properties:
    javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory
    javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory
    javax.xml.parsers.SAXParserFactory
    I'm using BC 4.7 SR2, Core Fix 2, JDK 1.3.1_09 under WinXP
    At first glance everything seems to work fine (I can
    still use recordToDocument), but I'd like to be sure.
    And what about BC 4.6?

  • Device is mounted or busy

    Hello,
    I am running Solaris 11 with multiple zones. When I set up one of my zones, I configured it with a device (add device, set match=/dev/*dsk/device_name). Within a non-global zone, I created an ufs file system on this device and mounted i in /etc/vfstab. Now I want to remove this device and mount it in a global zone and export it out as lofi to multiple zones. I am able to remove the device from the zone's config, reboot the zone, confirm that the device is gone. I also made sure that the device entry is no longer in /etc/vfstab in non-global zone. Now I added this entry to /etc/vfstab in global zone. When I attempt to mount it, I get an error message:
    mount: /dev/dsk /c0t600601600A212D00D6E38ED56C32E111d0s2 is already mounted or /sandsk/sanvnx-arr1/t3s1 is busy
    I am not sure why I am getting it as I can't see anywhere (in both global and non-global zones) the device to be mounted.
    If I reboot my Solaris 11 server, the problem will most likely get resolved, but I would like to do in a way that is least destructive to my users and prod env.
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Igor

    Hello Eze,
    You are right that dynamic zone config is now available with 11.2
    The issue is that despite dynamic and static attempts to remove the device from non-global zone, the device is still considered mounted within a global zone.
    There is no problem with device removal from non-global zone from the non-global zone's perspective, yet the global zone still thinks that the device is mounted within that non-global zone. Reboot resolves the issue as it flushes out the config info for all zones.
    Thank you for your reply.
    Regards,
    Igor

  • Server Utilization report (for processor) for business hour is incorrect

    Hi,
    We are using SCOM 2012 SP1 UR3 in our environment.
    Recently got a query from one of the team that the processor utilization report is incorrect for business hours.
    First I pulled a SCOM report (Performance by Utilization) for business hours say 1st Feb to 15th Feb processor.
    Then I pulled a Raw report from SQL DW targetting % Processor time , exported it to excel & filtered it for the same duration which gave an average value of 86% for processor.
    Finally, also pulled the same data from default report (Operating System Performance) under Windows Server 2008 Operating System which also gave me an average value of 86%.
    To summarize Performance by Utilization  does not calculate the accurate business hours & needs to be corrected.
