Diagnostics - SLD User in "Agent Candidates Management"

Dear all,
I have fully implemented SAP Solution Manager Diagnostics.
I still have a question :
1. From SOLMAN, I start SOLMAN_WORKCENTER transaction
2. Then, I choose RCA.
3. I start "Agent Administration"
4. When the SMD java application is opened for "Agent Administration (SMD Agent)",
I click on "Agent Candidates Management".
5. Here, I choose "Custom SLD Connection Parameters"
My question :
By default, SLD User is set to : SLDAPIUSER
Initially, the SLD User was set to : SLDDSUSERSMC
Do you know where this default value is defined ?
Best regards
CP2009

Hello,
I think by means of transaction SLDAPICUST you can change the SLD Access Data.
Maybe you can alsoo try changing parameters in Visual Administrator/Server/Services/Configuration Adapter
Best regards,
Fernando

  • Change credentials of Agent Connection Management

    Hello Gurus's,
we could only connect our SMD Agents with a direct P4 connection. We have registred the Agents at our central SLD.
The Agents logs gives no errors and the Agents are available at SMD Agent Candidates Management. So far so good.
But if we would attach the Agents in the Agent Candidates Manageme, we only have a "http connection via ms" in Agent Connection Management.
    picture: http://www.myimg.de/?img=SMD26750.jpg
Has someone a suggestion how we can change it?
    regards
    chris

    hi
its the load balancing for cluster systems.refer page 27th of the document attached by jai
P4 Connection via the Java EE Message server: the Diagnostics agent contacts the Java EE message server of the
Managing system on the HTTP port (81xx) to retrieve the P4 port (5xx04) of one of the Dispatcher nodes running in the Java EE
cluster (use a load balancing mechanism). This kind of connection supports High Availability Managing systems.

  • Diagnostics agent in managed systems

    Hi Gurus,
We are trying to set up RCA in solution manager.
For this, we need to install diagnostics agents in managed systems.
But, i think those agents are already installed in out systems and am not sure of it. Can anyone please let me know how can i find if diagnostic agent is installed in managed system.
Please do clarify one more thing, we need Solution manager diagnostics in solman system and solution manager diagnostics agents in managed systems. Am i correct??
Please help me out on this.
    Regards,
    Ram.

    Hi
I have gone through all the documents that specified earlier itself.
Our OS is IBM iSeries, so we have multiple SAP systems installed in a single LPAR.
So all the diagnostics agents for all those systems installed in that LPAR should exist in that LPAR itself.
In that way, we have DAA folder in usr/sap of that LPAR. In that DAA folder, we have mutliple folder called ADMA97, ADMA98 etc. So these ADMnn folders represent agents for each system right?. So, how to idenfify that particular agent is for which system? All i could make out is from SYS/profile folder in that DAA folder. I have checked the profiles and identified the host name related to a paricular SAP system.
As per SAP document, these diagnostic agents are automatically installed with system installation as of SAP Web AS 7.0 SR3. All our systems are above that level and i still see some diagnostic agents are not installes for some SAP systems. Is there any possibility like this? SO if i again install the missing diagnostic agents, will they be created under the same /usr/sap/DAA folder or will it create a new folder??
    Hope am clear...
Awaiting your inputs and thanksin advance.
    Regards,

  • Failed User Launch Agents

New to Apple Support Community; sorry if posted in the wrong place or if done other dumb things...
Don't know really what i have done wrong, but after my iMac (20-inch, Mid 2007) with OS X 10.10.2 and 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM got rather slow, i used EtreCheck and removed a number of red-coloured UserLaunchAgents and things seem to get better.

If any of you two has misgivings about my ideas, i would like to know.
I think it might be wise to save your money and plan on a replacement Mac.  Even a low end Mac mini would out perform the iMac and Macbook.  But it is not my job to spend your money.
If you can install Lion, it might be the better performance solution.  Should not cost you anything except time, and extend the usefulness of your Macs for awhile.
If you really want to keep this hardware in service AND have newer software, then max'ing out the RAM and replacing the hard disk with an SSD is how you can get reasonable performance.  But RAM and an SSD are going to add up to money that could be better put into a new Mac.  And besides, "Real-Soon-Now" Apple is going to stop supporting those Mac models and then newer OS releases will not install on them.
Again, I do not want to spend your money.
(for your info: i'm still a noob, but the first computer i had to use for my work in 1968 was an IBM 360)
Gee that is even before my first computer (a PDP-8 in '71; well there was the Burroughs Computer in the University basement where I submitted my card desks, and a printout came back; the PDP-8 belonged to the University too, but at least I got to touch it; That lead to a job a UNIVAC where I got to touch the UNIVAC equivalent of the IBM 360).

  • No option to install SMD Agent Candidates using the SMD

    Dears,
I want to bind a candidate SMD agent to my managing system. According to the guide I have to select one of the agent candidates and a new frame should appear where I can enter a username and a password.
The problem is that this frame does not appear.
Can someone help me out on this one ?
    kind regards
    Davy

    Hi Davy,
This solution is only applicable for SolMan 7.0
    1. Kindly check if the Maintenance Mode is OFF.
After selecting the candidate Agent, a new frame will be opened(not a window).
This frame will be just below the table, from where you have selected your Candidate agent.
    You need to expand it.
    I hope this will help.

  • Cannot delete users from the Central Management Console

I cannot delete users from the Central Management Console.  I'm logged in to Enterprise as administrator but still get the following error:
There was an error while writing data back to the server: Sorry, you do not have the right to 'Delete objects' (id - 22) for 'koberg' (id - 725415). Please contact your system or permissions administrator if you require this right.
Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

Oops, my mistake, sorry. Ok, so the Administrator cannot delete user koberg.
    Check top level:
Logon to CMC, browse to Home > Settings and select the Rights tab. These are your top level settings. Factory default will show only Administrators and Everyone. Select the Net Access "Advanced" for the Administrators group. NB: Do not select these group names links - they will jump you out of the top level! On the Advanced rights page, ensure the right to "Delete objects" is explicitly granted.
Then set for the Users top level folder:
In the CMC, browse to Home, and select Users. Select the "Rights" button. Again - NB: Do not select these group names links - they will jump you out of the Users top level folder! Set the Administrators group to "Full Control". Save.
That should be all you need. However, there is a possibility the previous admin was busy setting security not only at the account level, but on groups so we need to verify the user:
In the CMC, browse to Home, and select Users. In the User list, select koberg. In the koberg account page, select the Rights tab. If the Administrators is not set to (Inherited Rights), make it so, and when you select the "Update" button, you should see the Net Access update to "Full Control". If this is the case, you should follow these steps on each account and accomplish this.
And if you still can't delete it, verify the groups:
In the CMC, browse to Home, and select Users. In the User list, select koberg. In the koberg account page, select the "Member of" tab. Note all groups koberg is a member of. Then in the CMC, browse to Home, and select Groups. Select the name hyperlink for the group(s) that koberg belongs to. On the group page, select the Rights tab, and ensure the Administrators have (Inherited Rights) - Full Control on all of these, also. If not, set it.
Finally, I know you inherited this, but let's overview some basics of simplifying your deployment administration. Follow these guidelines, and your administration life will be so much easier.
    1. The Everyone group should never have any subgroups. Ever. All accounts on the system are a member of the Everyone group. Adding subgroups to the Everyone group is redundant.
    2. For simplicity's sake, Application level access should be set on the Adminstrators Group, and the Everyone group. I know there are customers who add groups to application rights. I don't understand why users would have an account on the system if they are not allowed access to InfoView, but it's your system.
    3. From a report object perspective, the Everyone group should be set at the top level to "No Access". This will result in them having no rights on anything at all. You break this inheritance at the application level to give them access to InfoView and other apps. On folders and objects, you ADD groups, then assign (ADD) rights as desired.
    4. If you can help it, never explicitly deny a right to any user or group for any object or application. Explicitly deny overrides any other setting. If a user belongs to group A and group B, and group A is explicitly denied a right, you can explicitly grant it for group B or the user all day long, and it will still be denied. Always try to put yourself in the position of adding groups/users, and adding rights, then inheriting as far down the folder tree as you can.

  • Can't log in as a user created in Workgroup Manager

I am a little confused about users created in Workgroup Manager.
I have created an account with all the proper permissions to log in etc. Their home directory is listed as afp://home/Users (home is the name of the server). The directory for the user I am trying to log in as doesn't exist yet.
When I try to log into the server "home" with this newly created user, I get the vibrating window that indicates the log in failed.
I am used to windows and AD where I would create a user in AD and then use something like \\domain\user to log in to the machine as that user. If i wanted to create a local user on that machine, I could do that too and then log in as \\machine\user to get the local user.
Are Workgroup Manager created users like AD users? Can I use them to log into any machine on the network hooked up to the SL server machine? In this case I want to log into the SL Server machine with this user.
    Thanks for any insight
    Greg

There is only one root user, so saying "a root user" doesn't make sense. What you mean is an admin user, and it looks like your account has somehow manage to lose its admin privileges.
Follow the instructions in I lost my admin user and you should get them back.
Note that in this User Tip, 'youruser' is a placeholder. You are supposed to substitute the short name of your account wherever it appears.

  • Block users in Oracle Identity Manager 9.1.0.2

    Hi,
I have a status query (User Locked) user in Oracle Identity Manager 9.1.0.2.
The option to block users, seen in the web administration console of Oracle Identity Manager appears in a disabled state. As I can enable this functionality in Oracle Identity Manager 9 ..?
    Thanks for the support

    Didn't get your question exactly.
Whenever someone tries to login with wrong password then he gets Locked into OIM. You'll have to go to Admin Console and Unlock it. You can also do this from DB as well.
To lock user from Admin console, you'll have to create a custom button and extend the same action class to Lock that user into OIM.
    Workaround
    Create a UDF called LOCK.
Create a trigger on this UDF i.e. whenever LOCK value changes to TRUE then lock the user using DB query or API (UPDATEUSER -- Users.Lock User)

  • Is there an easier/more-automated way to create user settings in Profile Manager?

I'm setting up a Mavericks Server and am setting up the settings for each user within the Profile Manager. I'm finding somewhat tedious to have to enter all of the server and account information per service per user. Seeing that it knows the details of the server it's running on – and the user for whom I'm setting up the profiles, is there no automatic way to produce a settings bundle for each user? At the very least, the server hostname and username should be prefilled.

What settings are you setting in the profiles? You can set a general setting that is available to all users, and also create various device configurations and add devices to them. I personally have not found much use for user specific profiles within profile management.

  • AD security groups listed in user groups in Config Manager however not listed when selecting values for the "System Resource - System Group Name" query

    Morning All,
We are in the process of setting up our SCCM 2012 infrastructure and are experiencing issues with our device collection querys based on AD security groups.
I can see the security groups are being updated per adsgdis.log - i can see the computers that are members of the groups in AD are being recorded in the same log. Issue is when we build the device collection query - click the value button for the string,
only 2 of the 18 AD security groups are displayed.  These are 2 AD groups we setup initially to test.
We have since added several additional yet they only appear to populate as user groups in config manager.
The same goes for additional OUs that we have created with AD.
When i click the value button only the initial 10 OUs that were created are populating in the list of applicable OUs.
We have the discovery methods Group Discovery & System Discovery enabled and set to search the parent OU recursively
I'm wondering if there might be an SQL issue with this as it initially worked but stopped...
Additionally we added an OU recently that now appears in in the Values options in the query but the ones added previously and additionally after are not showing up....
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

Given the adsgdis.log lists the new pc and the group it's assigned to it appears the AD group discovery is working.

Here you can see it processes the new members in the Software - Microsoft Project Professional 2010 x64 group and captures Thurmanwin7vm as a member.
I did find some log entries that reference permission issues with objects in the SQL database and have opened a case with MS to get that looked into.  Hopefully that will be where the issue lies.

  • User Event Agent (Not Responding)

In Activity Monitor, I'm seeing that the process called User Event Agent is in red letters and "not responding". Does anyone know what this means and how I can fix it?

    Hi
Ive seen all the posts here but want to ask.
If i delete this bluetooth plugin am i going to be left with no bluetooth connectivity? I also use a Digidesign Mbox and had the drivers installed in my 10.4.11 system. I cloned that system to firewire drive and upgraded to 10.5 and let the set up assistant copy all my users apps etc from there into the new 10.5.1.
I cant find the digi design driver anywhere now in the 10.5.1 system. Can anyone say for sure that this driver was the culprit? If so where is it now?
Furthermore, i cannot sync my Nokia N73 as i could before i upgraded to Leopard. I wonder if this is because of the bluetooth plugin problem.
Sorry this is so badly written...
    cheers

  • Agent service management

I have several agents that are registered to an older ZLM 7.1 server. I want to move them to a new server running 7.2ir2. They way I moved a few was to issue the command rug sd <https://old server URL> then rug sa <https://new server URL>. Is there an easier way to do accomplish this or is using the rug sd and sa commands the way to go. I have several more agents I need to move over to this new server and wanted to use the most effective means. I couldn't find any mention of this in the ZLM 7.2 Admin guide so I thought I would see what answers I could find from this board.

Well, that didn't work. It looks like the agent is registered to both ZLM servers when I look in the Control Center. I can refresh and reboot a client from either ZLM server.
Another question I had is what is the proper procedure to update the agent? When I run a rug ping I get:

  • Alter user system identified by manager; need help

    SQL> connect /as sysdba;
    Connected.
    SQL> alter user system account unlock;
    User altered.
    SQL> alter user system identified by manager;
    User altered.
    SQL> connect system/manager@q17als;
    ERROR:
    ORA-28000: the account is locked
Warning: You are no longer connected to ORACLE.

can you try do to the connect system/manager without
    putting the @q17als on it?
    I bet it will work
Well that one should work, although it may not connect to the right database.
What may have happened is he logged in to a different database using "/as sysdba" and unlocked SYSTEM account there. Therefore connecting as system without using an alias would work (if the password is manager).
the net service name for q17als probably uses different database in its connect descriptor. We can see that if we know what connect descriptor for q17als looks like. (tnsping q17als or checking tnsnames.ora)
I agree with the earlier posts - I think you are
dealing with two different databasesThat is what I am trying to prove as well

  • Windows AD user cannot use Promotion management, Why?

A Procedure is distributed by SAP  how to Use ”Promotion Management”  in a OTAP/ DTAP street.
    See Chapter/Secton 05 of this document: https://archivesaptechedhandson.hana.ondemand.com/contentArchive/AP263_Exercises_VHO_FINAL.pdf
This is a very good/useful   procedure. This procedure works  with an “Enterprise”  Account.
In our environment we ONLY work with  “Windows AD”  accounts. (to keep users management very straight forward.)
We do not get the procedure working with “Windows AD” account.
Our procedures stops at Section:  “07.3 Add to VM”:
The selected webi document, within the promotion Job, is not getting "checked in" in  Version Management.
After that all other steps are useless.
Windows AD user cannot use Promotion management, but Why?
(If we use version managment on the individual webi report, with a windows AD user everyting works fine)

    Sebastian,
you showed us the right direction.
We run SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 2 Patch 3.
In SAPBO4.1 we had to extend the properties of 2 services:
    AdaptiveJobServer and the AdaptiveProcessingServer.
Now we can use windows active directory for promotion management,
    thanx.
