Did something really wrong.

Hello guys,
I had this problem of right click and than sometimes windows explorer crashes, so I fell on this topic but hadn't read carefully (stupid me) and I downloaded the reg. file from the third post, and put it in register. Now I rebooted my PC and saw that I can't
open My Computer or something else related to Windows Explorer, now I see the reg. was for Windows 8 (I have Windows 7)
Please help me guys, I'm pretty desperate, I searched for the reg. in the regeditor but can't find it.

Press Ctrl + Alt + Del. Click File -> New Task ->
explorer.exe. Check if that opens the explorer and navigate through folders. If so, take a backup of important files before doing anything further.
If explorer.exe didn’t work, try typing c: and check if that opens up C drive.
Regarding the .reg file. You won’t be able to see .reg file inside registry.  By opening .reg file, you are transferring the info inside .reg file to registry.
So what you can do is
Download the .reg file that you downloaded before, on another computer
Right click on the file and select the option Open with, then select
Notepad.
Now you can see the entries inside the .reg file
Check which entry is listed inside .reg file and what change does it make by executing the file
Now go back to your original computer and undo the change made by the .reg file
Hope you can fix this.

  • MY MAC JUST DID SOMETHING REALLY WEIRD, AND IM A LITTLE WORRIED...

Hi, i left my computer on, its set to sort of, shut the display screen down when im away from it for more than 10 minutes, but not to put itself to sleep or shut down.
However, when i got back from downstairs, about an hour or two later, i looked at my screen and my login window was there with my name and picture, just like i had restarted my mac. But i hadn't. it was as though my mac had restarted itself. I'm a little worried my mac is spazzing out, or am i just being paranoid?

Thank you to all who are trying to help me. I'm sorry that in my aggitated state that I did not explain my situation in more detail. Don't feel that you might insult me.......I am a novice.
I was working on my PowerBook G4, MAC OS X version 10.4.6 1.67 GHz Power PC G4 1 GB DDR SDRAM when I accidently pulled out the power cord from the laptop itself. Immediately the screen flickered to black and then the power went completely off. I was not able to get the laptop to turn on again. When I pushed the battery button all the lights went on showing that the battery was fully charged. I tried starting with the power cord in and then with it removed but nothing.........aboslutely nothing........no sound, no nothing. I could not get the laptop to start up by doing ctrl, apple, power button....or with any other combination of keystrokes. I was trying to insert the DVD to use the disk utility.
I then found info telling me to unplug the power cord, remove the battery, push and hold the start button for 5+ seconds, re-insert the battery and then push the start button. The laptop now springs to life but any time I close the lid or retart it, it again goes dead and won't start again unless I do the things mentioned in this paragraph. I was smart enough this time to burn copies of my projects so I'm not in as much of a panic now. However I do need to fix the laptop from going dead on me everytime I close the lid or restart the machine.
Someone recommended on another forum that I reset the power manager but there is a major warning saying to only do that as a last resort and that I would lose my RAM card or something like that. I'll look up the warning info again and post it here. What are your thoughts on resetting the power manager.
Thanks so much for all your help. It really is so very nice of you.

  • Something really wrong.

Here is my problem... I just got a new replacement iPod (my old one had battery problems). And it worked perfectly fine when I first connected it to my iMac. But the second time, when I went to update, the computer was only charging it, no "Do Not Disconnect" on the iPod or anything, and it didn't even show up as a disk on the desktop. After a while, it came up with the Do Not Disconnect, and about half hour later it began updating, the next couple times I connected to the computer it was fine, until now... it got stuck when it was updating on a certain song, so I attempted to stop the update, so I could delete the song (I was losing my patience). But it wouldn't disconnect, and eventually iTunes froze up, so I restarted my computer, but when it was restarted it came up with a message something like "You have inserted a disk with volumes Mac OS X cannot recognize, do you want to continue with it?" I clicked ignore (to continue, because the other option was eject). But after that, the iPod didn't show up on iTunes or the desktop, but it still has the "Do Not Disconnect" on the iPod screen. I have no idea what is wrong with it, and I have tried restarting my computer and restarting the iPod, but nothing is working. So if anyone has any idea what happened, or what I can try to fix it, it would be really appreciated.

Ok... I fixed the problem (sort of). I worked out that it came up on Disk Utility, so I went there, and repaired it, and erased, then disconnected it. Then it came up on iTunes and is now updating the songs. BUT there is one minor thing, on the desktop, it comes up as a normal disk, not as an iPod (it usually has the little blue iPod icon). I don't know why it does this, if it doesn't change anything, then I am fine with it, but if it is going to change something or cause problems in the future, it would be good to know how to fix it.

  • Theres something really wrong with Clean Up Diagram

There appears to be some significant problems with the Clean Up Diagram algorithm. It seems that far too much space is padded next to cluster unbundle by name and structure objects. It is really frustrating that some things appear miles apart and others are far too close. I have done a very good job of factoring this application into VIs but the inconsistency around certain objects makes it look terrible.
    Help! I can't read it!
PS: Prior to now I have been careful not to perform a Clean Up Diagram on the vi containing a case with a large number of sub cases.

As for the feature being "new", it's NOT new.
Diagram Cleanup was introduced with LabVIEW 8.6 last August. Since this is the latest major version it is a new feature by any reasonable definition.
I agree that it is not great to be used on excellent code. So far it seems to bring the diagram quality somewhere in the neighborhood of the 70 percentile on my scale (wild guess!). It does a great job on horrible diagrams (it lifts them from very low score), but makes any of my own diagrams worse (they go from the 99 percentile down to 70). Don't expect miracles. I never use it on my own code, but it helped me to make some sense out of nightmare code posted here in the forum..

Well, NI is always eager for product feedback, so if you have detailed and constructive ideas about how to improve the cleanup tool, please let them know via the product suggestion center. If possible, include some typical diagrams and describe what's wrong with the current outcome and how you want the results to look like instead. Good luck!

  • Something really wrong with my Mac

The main problem is that when I turn it on it shows the apple logo and the little loading wheel under it but after letting it run for about four hours it hadn't started. To try and fix the problem I put in the Mac OS X disc and erased the operating system and re-installed it. Once I did that it ran fine again for about a week then the Mac froze and I turned it off and was stuck with the original problem again. I've repeated this process several times and keep getting the same problem. Is there any way I can get my Mac to run correctly again?

There could be several things awry, first off, did you repair permissions after reinstalling? You can use Disk Utility to check your system:
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk.
After you have repaired the disk, use Disk Utility on your hard drive to repair permissions.
You might also want to Rum Apple Hardware Test from an install disc, boot it holding down the D key, to make sure that there is nothing wrong there.
If you don't have the iSight, open the back of the machine and check your [LEDs|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2831].

  • Help my daughter did something really bad to my Mactop while playing a game.

My 3yr old was playing a game and when she was done it appears that she was also playing with my Mactop.
My spellcheck is not working right, it underlines the word but when I right click nothing happens.
The folders on my desktop are all shrunk and I cannot find a way to make them bigger.
Most of my Apps are gone from the doc, and when I put them back they are not there when I turn the computer back on.
What did she do? Is there a way to 'lock' the computer when she is playinga game on it?
Anyhelp would be great... I am not a computer person and I have searched as much as I can with no luck.

Check System Preferences > Trackpad > Secondary click . Make sure it is selected.
    Folders on your desktop
Finder > click on desktop > View (on menu bar) > Show view options.
When you put the apps onto the dock Secondary click (Right click) them > Options > Keep in dock.
Put her onto the guest account. System Prefs > Accounts or Users & Groups in Lion. Set up Guest account.
When you are more used to the Mac set up her own account and check out the parental controls..
    Best.

  • Something REALLY Wrong Here

I spent the whole night putting this order form together and now the Submit button doesn't work. It is grayed out, but it blinks when you click on it. Nothing happens, though. I tried with the form open as well as closed.
The form was copied from another form that worked well. I made some changes to it, simplified it. Everything looks good, but it's not working.
There is one line item that has a skip logic function - it's supposed to show when any of several choices are made on the form, and is required. It does not appear in the test. Other than that everything is set up the way it should be.
Three times during creating this form, I got a popup from what looked like Adobe saying that my Acrobat Reader Pro was not up to date and pretty much forced me to click on the 'ok' to update. When I did, a few unwanted programs installed, but not Adobe reader or Flash or anything from Adobe. The installer did not look familiar. I uninstalled it promptly, but it did not affect FormCentral.
I'm stuck, leaving on a trip tomorrow morning (or this morning)
    R screenshot: Dropbox - Screenshot 2014-06-06 03.13.44.png
so, I am working on my website in Muse - and I added the order form onto one of the pages And it works!  I was able to complete the form and process through to PayPal. i saved the form as PDF on my desktop and filled it out and it worked. Only from within Muse, testing the form will not submit. I tried on another computer. Same thing

  • I Did Something Really Stupid

I need help. Desperately. I was trying to change my short name for my computer. Okay...stupid idea already, I know. So I changed the name of my home folder (from Betsy to Kate). So the only thing that happened was the name change. So then I change my mind and try to change it back to Betsy...then it says that the name Betsy is already used. I have no idea what that means. So I foolishly restart my computer and now everything is screwed up. I still have all of my old files under Machintosh HD > Users > Kate
I'm freaking out right now, did I make a new user? How can I make everything the way it was? And just how badly did I screw up?
Thank you for any help at all. I'm super scared that I'm going to lose everything!

  • I think  I did something really bad..need help please

When my Iphoto 5 became very slow, I thought I'd be really smart and delete some files, but now I can't view my photos in the edit window, just the thumbnail. I think I deleted the IPhoto library. Can someone help me restore the settings to the proper way. I tried to import my photos from a cd, they import ok, but I can't view them. Help Please. Obviously I'm no pro here, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Laura

Well, that's a very bad sign but let's not give up yet.
You indicated that you may have deleted the library. IF that's correct, you're screwed. Do your best to locate it. Although I've frequently told persons never to mess with the innards of the library, at this point you can't make things worse. If you can locate the library, take it apart and look for large files - 250K or larger. Those are your photos. Put them somewhere safe for the time being. (Small files are thumbnails or aliases.)
    Again, post back with results.

  • There's something really wrong with linked files

I have two days trying to solve this problem, but i can't.
The demo movie has 6 linked images, 1 flash not linked and 1 flash
linked. If i plublish this with director 10.1.1, everything is ok.
But when i publish this in director 11, the linked files don't
show. If i play the movie inside the dswmedia folder, works fine,
but when i try it on a browser, don't work. Anybody can tell me
    what's wrong?
    sayeg

    Hi Sayeg,
The Publish Settings have been enhanced in Director 11 for
    the Linked files publishing.
If there are Linked files/casts in your movie then the
"dswmedia" and "Linked files" folder are created automatically and
the .dcr files will have internal links to these paths, relative to
the main folder. This folder hierarchy should be maintained, else
    it will not work.

  • I Did something really stupid, I spilled syrup on my keyboard is there anyway I can clean it out ?

My little brother was handing me a plate and i wasn't paying attention and some of the syrup got into the keys. I was able to get some out but you can tell where the syrup is stuck. I really need help getting it out !

Disassembling the MacBook Pro to even get to the keyboard (pretty much the whole MacBook needs to be taken apart) to clean only that component is not an easy task...I know first hand because I've done it (I have many years of building & maintaining PCs beginning from the early 80's).
About the best thing you can do is make a free Genius Bar reservation to get an idea of the repair cost. If you have no warranty left, be prepared for some serious sticker-shock...$300 - $500 I would assume. They will replace the entire top-case (CNC machined Aluminum top case & keyboard)...this is why the repair is so expensive. The keyboard is literally screwed to the aluminum top case using some where around 100 teeny-tiny screws. Be aware that other components of the MacBook may be damaged as well.
    https://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/
You also have the option of finding a local non-Apple repair facility. A repair will likely be cheaper there but any warranty you have left will by voided by going this route.
