Dimension Table contents are different after cube copy - why?
To all,
I'm doing some work on a cube based on some bad dimensioning in it's original design. We're running BI 3.50 - The original cube is INV_C01 - here is the table contents based upon SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS report -

The INV_C012 with a 7 % ratio (this is dev, production is much higher) is what I'm working to eliminate - it's too high. I then made a copy of this cube and copied all the data to this copy with no structural changes. I see this now in the copy -

Note that INV_C01_C2 now only has 1,755 rows, whereas the source cube has 17,617 rows. Why is this? I did a straight copy and the F table has approximately 50k less rows and this table is approx 10 percent of the source.
Any explaination would be appreciated. Ken
Was data ever deleted from the first cube? Either using selective deletion, or possilbly just the deletion of a Request. Those dim IDs wouldn't be recreated in the cube copy. There is an RSRV test that checks for unused Dim IDs and can delete them if you want.
If you use the option to load packets in parallel, it can lead to multiple Dim IDs being created for the same characteristic combination. There is an RSRV check for duplicate Dim IDs, which can eliminate the duplicate Dim IDs if you tell it to.
One other thin got keep in mind - SAP INFOCUBE_DESIGNS is using data from DB stats to provide the row counts, so if your DB stats for the dim table are not current, you could be seeing row counts that are old.

OBIEE-can we link two dimension tables belonging to different fact tables?

Fact 2 -> Dim a, Dim b,Dimc and so on...
If I link Dim1 and Dim a with a valid key ,would that distort the star schemas to slowflake in BMM layer?

NehaI don't see this that would make it snowflake more like what I think as conforming dimensions. You need to make sure the grain of the measures is at what level , the they are same grain then you should be good however if they are different then you would start seeing null values.
Fact Measures use the same, conformed dimensions like Dim1 and Dim a if you trying to generate from multiple facts, the BI server was able to automatically stitch them together into a single result set. If they came from the same fact table that's easy as its only one single table, but if you are pulling from different fact tables, the conformed dimensions would allow them to be stitched into the same report
Conformance means that these sources can be mapped to a common structure – the same levels – and also the same data members.

Are you connecting to these tables from Essbase with a load rule / ODBC? Using Studio? Using Integration Services? Any Drill-Through reporting set up?

Cache Contents are Obsolete after activating BPM
Hello.
I have made a BPM for a scenario, and after activating it, the SXI_CACHE shows: Cache Contents are Obsolete
the problem is solved only after I delete the Cache instance in the integration directory, and make a cache connectivity test.
The version of the PI is 7.0 SP15
What in BPM development might cause this? or is there an external cause for this (this is the first BPM being made in this server)

I tried to use a simpler BPM (one that receives an interface and immediately sends it) to see if the complexity of the BPM, or just a bug in this specific BPM was causing the problem.
However - this problem occurs with the new BPM as well...

Inboxes are different after iTunes update
I did an iTunes update this week and now my inboxes are different. I now have a screen for Inboxes and accounts. Can I go back to the previous view? I am on a 3GS.
Sounds like you installed iOS4 on your 3GS. This is a change with iOS4 to include a "blended" Inbox mailbox for all accounts instead of having to switch between different accounts to view a particular account's Inbox mailbox when you are accessing more than one account.
You can still do this the same way if you prefer. You can switch back and forth between the Inbox mailboxes for each account be going back to the Inboxes and Accounts screen and select the account under Inboxes to view that account's Inbox mailbox. You cannot go back to the previous view included with the firmware/OS versions prior to iOS4. -
Customer tables in $TMP missing after client copy
We did a client copy Data+Customizing and on the targer client we noticed after some table has been simply cleaned up, not copied.
Are all customer tables (tables like Sxxxx) defined as local objects , $TMP development class, both on the source client and on the target client.
I found note 69556 and it seems infact tables in $TMP are not copied, but this note is very very old and written for release 30C - 4x systems.
Is that still true ? Is this the reason why $TMP tables are not copied ?

HELP: URL content are different

2. This i have accessed from browser and using java program.

The easiest way to get rid of this white line...click on the affected photo, open up the Inspector and click on the Ruler tab. Now increase the height of the photo by one or two pixels. This should work.
The other method is to select the affected photo, open up the Inspector to the Shapes tab and change the opacity of the photo to 99%. This should also work.
Basically, both methods work by forcing iWeb to re-render the image as PNG by changing the photo ever so slightly.

After you publish to a folder, just select the folder in the Finder and type "Apple-i" to get the size of the folder. Is this what you are after? -
Table width are different for IE, than with MZFX & GLE

I have three tables and would like them to be the same width (for looks).

Reports are dumping after client copy
Hi All,
After client refresh from Production to QA reports which are having mail options are dumping saying that Abap Dump
"SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC"
Error due to duplicate record entries, Dump analysis is saying. Could any one revert me back what should be done to this issue.
When I am searching I figured it out to be Make SNRO number range settings should be done, I have no idea about SNRO number rangings, So which piece (Object) of SNRO should be modified to set this same. ?.

on my computer from my iPhone. is there any easy way to get them back to the way they were before the restore besides dragging them all throught the phone pages.

White areas on screen, are pink after printing! why?
Can anybody help me?!
When taking a passport photo, with white background, I noticed that the background comes out pink when printer. Why is this?
We changed the height of the back light and miraculously this helped. But why? What was causing the whit area go pink?
At another ocassion, normal portraits taken with a white background. We selected the edges and deleted any color, to soften the edges. When we recieved the photos from the printer, the edges had light pink strips all around it. Is there an explanation to this?
I hope my description of the problem is clear enough.
If anyone has any knowledge to this problem. Please, help.Here is an exampel of the problem I'm talking about. On this photo, you can't see the stripes, but once printed, all around the edges will apear light magenta lines.
Is calibrating the only reason why the white areas of a picture come out pink when printed onto paper?
Any technological answers as to why it does this? Why a light magenta shade instead of say....green? Or why does it give a color at all when on the screen it's white and as I've used the delet button to get rid of edges, shouldn't it be colourles?
This hasn't happened before but can it be that the printer somehow tryes to fill out the blancs by adding color to the deleted areas? I've used levels before to "add" white to the edges instead of "deleting" and I've not had this problem of light magenta stripes.

If two(or more) cubes have some same dimensions, how are they sharing the dimension tables like SAP says? I think they can't because they have different dimension table names even they have the same infoobjects in it.

In my mind I don't know cubes can share dimension tables.
For example, even if you have two cubes with the same structure, they will have own dimension tables and fact tables.
When you first time activate a cube named CUBENAME, the system will automatically generate the following tables:
Dimension table:
/BIC/DCUBENAMEXX
Fact table:
/BIC/FCUBENAME
So for different cubes, the dimension tables' names are different.
For the performance aspect, sharing dimension will save disk space but will not benefit the query performance. You can image if system shares dimension for one big cube and one small cube, the query execution time on the small cube will be longer.

It's not something I have tried before. Have you tried it, and what's happened?
Basically, copy/pasting tables is a bit of a problem - anywhere. Table formats are different in different circumstances - Excel, HTML, PDF, ...
If you copy a HTML table and paste it into an Excel sheet, the entire table will go into one single cell.
So most likely what you are trying to achieve will not work.
