Disable Change Password in Excel Add-in

hello -
Is there a way to disable the "Change Password" button that's on the Essbase Excel login window? I need to prevent users from changing their passwords, since we have a different mechanism for maintaining password.

I came across a prior thread in this forum titled "gray out essbase options" that may answer my question. Apparently disabling the change password may not be configurable. By the way, we use Essbase (7.x). The Initiator of the prior thread had a similar need, but one of the respondents stated that it's not do-able. Perhaps, the code to enable or disable the button is embedded in the API dlls.

    I want to disable change password at next logon field,so could anyone tell me how to do that & what is
    the column name in USR table for change password at next logon field.
    Thank-You

    For 9.x
    Open FormMetaData.xml and comment the below lines
    <Attribute name="-31" label="createuser.label.changePwdAtNextLogon" displayComponentType="CheckBox" variantType="String" dataLength="1" map="Users.Change Password At Next Logon" />
    <AttributeReference editable="true" optional="true">-31</AttributeReference>
    Now open design console go to Administration->>System Configuration and search for keyword XL.ForcePasswordChangeAtFirstLogin. Set this value to FALSE.
    Dont forget to restart the server.

  • How do i disable "change password" in "security & privacy"

    Hi... i think something might be wrong... I have a standard account (for a child) that is locked down by parental controls by an admin user. I've locked changing the password - "Disable changing the password"... The lock icon is locked for users and groups in the standard account - so that works.
    However if i goto System Preferences/Security & Privacy/General/Change Password it allows for changing of the standard account password and does not require the admin password.
    Really? Can anybody else confirm this? How do I lock this also?
    thanks in advance.

    This isn't an answer.
    You aren't the only one seeing this behavior. If you monitor the "More Like This" box (top right), other threads appear. Opening them usually displays other threads.
    You might want to submit feedback to Apple so they are aware of the problem:

  • How to disable change password in finder while connecting to a network computer?

    Hi folks,
    I'd like to disable the Change Password option that shows when I want to connect into a network computer:
    - Both users (client and server) are already running with parental controls set to "prevent(s) the user from changing their password in the Users & Groups preference pane".
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    I am also facing the same issue and I am not able to su to root user as the password is expired. and the user I am currently logged in does not have permission to change the root password. I just want to know how I can change the root password now? I am connected to my SPARC Solaris 10 T1000 server through hyperterminal.
    The worst thing is that, I do not have IP to the server through which I can try ssh to the server and change the password. Please let me know the solution if you know.

  • Disable "Change Password" funtionality on EDMS 7.0

    Hi
    Is it possible to disable/hide the "Change Password" functionality on the EDMS 7.0 logon screen? If so, how?
    Regards,
    CJ

    Hi CJ,
    EasyDMS is developed in C++ and as far as I know there is no possibility in the SAP system to modify the logon screen for EasyDMS. So I think the 'Change password' flag cannot be removed.
    Best regards,

  • Disable change password in the file sharing window

    I have two labs, 25 computers per lab.  One is running Lion, the other is running Snow Leopard.  When file sharing to other computers in both labs on our network, it is required that you enter a password before you can access the files.  Lion offers the option to change that password for certain computers when file sharing with them.  I need to disable this feature so students cannot change the passwords randomly.  The students may not be able to change the password for other Lion computers, due to parental controls that I have set, I'm not positive, but they can change the password for a Snow Leopard computer, and my network people do not want me putting Lion on all of the computers, therefore this is not an option.  Is there any way for me to disable this feature?

    Hey, password file is a binary file, you are not suppose to do that.
    Drop prassword.ora file
    Use ORAPWD utility to create a new password file.

  • TS3899 Help! I cannot access my settings and facebook settings within 'Settings'. This means I cannot change passwords, delete or add email accounts.  I've tried updating and restoring my phone but to no avail.  Can anyone help me please?

    Can anyone help please? I cannot access my email account settings within 'Settings', so I cannot change my details for existing email accounts, nor can I delete them or add others.
    I can't access my Facebook settings within 'Settings' either but when I try to use the app it asks me to enter my password into my Facebook account in settings, but I can't do that either.
    I've updated my software, restored and backed up my phone but it still doesn't work.  Troubleshooting doesn't cover this.

    Go to Settings>General>Restrictions. Do you have restrictions on? If so, that would prevent you from making changes in some areas of the iPhone.

  • HT5622 Apple ID has been disabled--changed password and payment method. Same message. What do I do now?

    After a false charge, my Apple ID was disabled.  I changed the payment method and my password and I can use these in some places but when I try to buy a new app I still get the Apple ID has been disabled message. How do I fix this?

    Hello Rubydear,
    I would be concerned too if I was not able to access my Apple ID.  I found some resources that I think will help.
    First, I recommend reviewing the following article:
    Apple ID: "This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons" alert appears
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2446
    If you are not able to gain access to your account after following the steps in that article, I recommend using the following link for additional assistance in accessing your Apple ID:

  • OIM11g - disable set password on first logon + force challenge questions

    Hi all,
    I was initially trying to work out how to stop forcing users to set their passwords on first login. Initially by using the Force Password Change at First Login flag.
    I found the following in metalink:
    BUG:10256559: DOCUMENT THAT XL.FORCEPASSWORDCHANGEATFIRSTLOGIN NO LONGER USED IN 11G
    The system property "Force Password Change at First Login" is not used in Oracle Identity Manager 11g Release 1 (11.1.1). Setting this property has no effect.
    I have also tried setting all of the flags on a user relating to this manually, but that hasn't worked either e.g.
    usr_change_pwd_at_next_logon
    usr_pwd_must_change
    I saw the following workaround in metalink:
    How To : How to Disable Change Password At Next Logon in OIM 11g
    Go to EM and change the ssoEnabled flag as per below instructions
    1. Go to WebLogic Domain -> <Domain Name>
    2. Right click and open 'System MBean Browser'
    3. In the 'System MBean Browser' left panel, go to 'oracle.iam' -> Server:<server name> --> Application:oim --> XML Config --> Config --> XMLConfig.SSOConfig --> SSOConfig
    4. Set the SsoEnabled flag to 'true' and apply
    Which works, however it also prevents challenge questions being forced on a user, which we want.
    Does anyone know how to do this?
    Thanks!

    yes, system property doesn't work in this case. you can try the simple test case
    1. create a new user
    2. login to oim db and update usr set usr_change_pwd_at_next_logon=0 for newely created user. (default value is 1)
    3.commit the change in db
    4. close the browser or clear cache. sometime it pick the value from cache. better close the the browser and open it
    5. login with the new user it won't ask for the password change but it will force to set question.

  • Disable prompt to change password for local non-admin account

    Hi there, I have a special-case laptop image running Windows 7 Enterprise. This one will not be on the domain--configured as a standalone workgroup only. I have three local accounts on it:
    1) Tech account with admin privs and password protected
    2) Teacher account with admin privs and password protected
    3) Kindergarten student account with regular user privs and no password at all
    For some reason, after Sysprep, when the student and teacher clicks their icon to logon, Windows always prompts them to change the password. I want to disable that. I have the following in my unattend.xml file which should take care of this, based on what
    I've read here. Still getting prompted to change password though. Any ideas what's missing?
    Thanks,
    Sir_Timbit
    <component name="Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup" .....
                <FirstLogonCommands>
                    <SynchronousCommand wcm:action="add">

                        <Order>1</Order>
                    </SynchronousCommand>
                </FirstLogonCommands>

    For some reason my paste garbled up the unattend.xml file. It should read:
                <FirstLogonCommands>
                    <SynchronousCommand wcm:action="add">
                        <CommandLine>wmic path Win32_UserAccount WHERE name="Student" set PasswordExpires=FALSE</CommandLine>
                        <Description>Student password never expires...</Description>
                        <Order>2</Order>
                    </SynchronousCommand>
                    <SynchronousCommand wcm:action="add">
                        <CommandLine>net accounts /maxpwage:unlimited</CommandLine>
                        <Description>Disable expired local user account passwords</Description>
                        <Order>3</Order>
                        <RequiresUserInput>true</RequiresUserInput>
                    </SynchronousCommand>
                    <SynchronousCommand wcm:action="add">
                        <CommandLine>wmic path Win32_UserAccount WHERE name="Staff" set PasswordExpires=FALSE</CommandLine>
                        <Description>Staff password never expires</Description>
                        <Order>1</Order>
                    </SynchronousCommand>
                </FirstLogonCommands>
    Now, I let Sysprep complete and logged on as Staff. I went to the command prompt and ran the wmic command above to configure the student account to never expire. It failed when I ran it from a regular command prompt, but worked (and prevents the student
    password from expiring--what I want!) when I ran the command prompt as administrator, and paste the above. I was under the impression sysprep would be processing the unattend file with administrative privs. So I'm a bit closer here, but still unsure how to
    get it to run the above wmic command as administrator.

    My itunes account was disabled for some reason.  I changed password in iforgot and still didn't work.  I could log in and see my music but not make purchases from the store or even redeem an itunes gift card so I set up a new login/account with another email account of mine. On the new account I can redeem my gift card and download items onto my ipad2.  Is there any way to move my music to the new account?

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
    Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
    When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
    Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
    Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

    iTunes is updated and works fine and I am able to log onto my account. When I go to purchase a song, I get the error message "Your Apple ID has been disabled". I've tried different methods: changing passwords, making a new account with another email address, and emailing itunes tech support. I am curious as to how many others have been experiencing the same issue. When I googled the error, it seemed like it was happening extremely often with many people.
    We all love their products, but they always come with a lot of issues and horrible customer support.
    My apple Id is [email protected]

    My Iphone 4 is telling me the same thing and I believe I figured out what the problem is.  I had some fraudulent charges on my itunes account, so I call my bank and disputed the charges.  Right after I did that, I started getting the message "Your apple ID has been disabled."  I just realized today that the charges are not fraudulent, they are "in app purchases."  One of my daughters downloaded the game Top Girl which is FREE, but in the game Top Girl you use money in the game to purchase things.  It just so happens that the money you use to purchase things is real money MY Money!!!.  My daughter thought she was using play money in the game and had no idea she was using real money.  She spent $106.00 buying stuff.  Now I have to call the bank and tell them to release the hold and pay Itunes.  I'm hoping this solves the problem.  Here is the link to learn how to disable "in app purchase" on your iphone or ipad.
