Disable swf bsed on cookie

Hi:
I have js all set up and tested to check for cookie. If cookie set I ant to disable the swf.
The code in my AS is as follows::

the rest of the AS is unrelated to this process.
The Js reutrns 0 if the cookie set or 1 of not.
I really don't want to use a cue on the time line to call this function. Is there some other way to get the function ot execute before the swf is run?
I have also tried to use js to checkCookie and do get the return with:

The doc write is for testing and the call works fine.
First of all if I try this:

and have this in the init() called by page load it does not work. I was going to use the play variable to kill the loading of the swf
but can't figure out how best to make that work.
So, my questions:
Best way to facilitate this action:
1. In AS by calling the function by:
   a. Timeline
   b. AS callback from <body onLoad
2. Using js to call the fucntion in the external js and then blocking loading of the swf in the html page.
I don't want to spend anymore time exploring alternatives as this is very frustrating. I am assuming that 1.b is the best route.

Well, adding checkSpokesman(); on the AS seems to execute the function (as evidenced by setting cookie and flashing the trace.
The problem now is the video plays anyway. I asumed that fscommand("quit") would kick out of the function without executing the rest.

Disable .swf (Flash File) Generated as an Attch in Email Delivered byIBOT

.swf Adobe Flash file is generated when i am scheduling an IBOT to the user , In the IBOT i am delivering an Answers request and i can access the answers request and ATT288***.swf File is generated as an attachment , How can Disable that file from generating as an Email attachment.

Hi Srix,
All OBIEE chart objects are generated by Corda Popcharts. Corda generates charts using Adobe Flash. Adobe Flash file formats are .swf (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SWF'>Shockwave Flash</a>).
Does the report you're emailing have a chart object in it? My guess is that your report does have a chart object and that is the .swf attachment you are seeing.
If you do not want the .swf attachment, you can change the output format to pdf or other formats in the iBot.

I can't enable/disable "allow third party cookies" with the new Firefox preferences

The newly revised preferences for Firefox--specifically 'Privacy' and 'Security' don't appear to have an option for me to enable and disable third-party cookies. I don't allow them generally, but need to enable them in order to use my bank's billpay. PLEASE--if anyone has an answer to this, I'm trying to find out how to enable and disable third-party cookies, as I did with the previous Firefox preferences.

In the History section of Options -> [[Options window - Privacy panel|Privacy]] , is the dropdown set to 'Firefox will: ''Use custom settings for History'' '?
This should reveal the granular settings for saving cookies and forms, etc.

In private browsing, ctrl+shift+del is disabled, but I delete cookies during browsing after leaving email; is there a keyboard shortcut or setting to allow this?

I am usually in private browsing mode (since Firefox 4 no longer allows control of how long history is kept). Currently to delete cookies while browsing (e.g. after closing email) I have to go through the menu, open the options|privacy tab, show cookies, remove all cookies. Or I have to close and reopen the browser. Why would Ctrl+Shift+Delete be disabled? Is there a hidden setting to enable it in private mode, or an easier way to delete cookies on the fly?

OK, I will try your suggestions -- thank you. Although I did note today when I went out of private browsing mode and into normal mode, the recent cookies from PB mode were not visible like they were a couple of days ago.
But I am still confused about this because there are cookies definitely being placed and kept on my computer when I am in private browsing mode, but I can't see them or access them, so how do I get rid of them?

I want to be sure I can see what cookies I have, and also be able to delete them. Currently there is no way to do that while in PB mode. And also, it now appears that even after switching to normal mode, I can't see the cookies that were placed while in PB mode, so how can we know and remove those cookies that are being placed while in PB mode?

according to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1059074 google is aware and working on the issue (please don't post in bug reports, but vote for the bug if you want to see it fixed).

Can't install flash. gp.xpi file downloads but doesn't install programme. adobe is added to safe sites. noscript disabled. 3rd party cookies enabled. what else can I do?

In plugins, what shows is: getPlusPlus for Adobe 16290.
In extensions there is: Adobe DLM 1.6.2.90
When try to download from FF plug ins, the 'allow' doesn't come up.
All I get is 'install missing plug ins'.
Shockwave does install.

Cant open pages that need log in info. I've cleared cache, disabled extensions and deleted all cookies to no avail....help!!!

Any page that requires a username and password will not open, this started last Thursday and at that time I was able to reinstate by clearing cache, disabling extension and deleting cookies. Subsequently that fix failed and now doing all those things has no effect.

I found the answer: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071?tstart=0 It was a conflict with RealPlayer. Incidentally, in order to find this thread again, I had to use a google search. Is there really no way to find a person's own questions via our own profile???

How to Stop Cookies & Other Devices Hammering Me with Repeated Ads?

While researching this I see many people have many different issues with the various ads we are subjected to while surfing the web, but I could find nothing covering the current annoyance I am experiencing now. My apologies if this is old hat to everyone. I thought it was to me as well until I found deleting the annoying cookies did not solve my problem. It seems the world of online ads has moved on and left me in the dust. I have no gripes with Safari or OS X 10.6.4 which is what I am using. I would just like to better understand this boil on the a** of web browsing, so I might more effectively deal with it.
This is the Reader's Digest Condensed version of the issue. While it's bugging the heck out of me, it doesn't warrant 3 pages of detailed observations and notes. A couple of weeks ago I was interested in a particular type of welding equipment, on a small home-hobby scale. I buy many, many items online. Most all my hobby equipment and supplies I get from online suppliers. What I was looking for was something I was not even sure existed in a small hobby version (a type of spot welding machine). So, I was searching online sellers' stock as well as technical info that might give me a clue to what, if anything, that existed in the scale I desired.
I was searching using the Google bar on Safari 5.0.2. I sometimes found Google's auto completion of my search string to be a bit pushy, but sometimes it was also helpful so I just went with it. For the better part of a day I searched everywhere the browser and Google took me. I visited at least a hundred sites that popped up on my search results pages and / or were linked to a page I visited. I eventually learned there was no viable product out there for me but like most tool nuts I enjoyed the window shopping and even bookmarked some promising sites for another day. Just a typical day browsing the web. I was never directed to any overtly hostile site. I never saw a single pop up ad nor was I ever hijacked to some site I did not wish to visit. Like most, my Safari settings have pop up windows disabled, I only accept cookies from sites I visit, I don't bother with private browsing etc.
OK, the point to all this. Every webpage I see since that day searching for a spot welder, has at least one ad for a welder on it. Most are specifically spot welders but not all. Most come from a Seller named Eastwood. They are an old school autobody repair supplies seller. I don't remember ever visiting their site as I know them well and they don't carry what I was looking for. Now I know this is all normal and I have not described anything close to a malfunction of software or hardware, but that's my issue. I thought it was kind of amusing for a day or two but seeing ads for welders on every single page I load is making me feel a tiny bit exploited. I thought I knew how to fix this. I searched my Cookies for any containing "weld" or "Eastwood." I found a total of about 10 and deleted them and emptied the trash. I figured this would solve the issue. It did not. I see welders everywhere. I feel like a spoof on a horror flick but instead of seeing dead people I'm stuck with seeing welders! Can someone tell me how this persists? Did Google sell me out (and are they still?) Did I just not dig deep enough into the Cookies? Or (and this is my biggest fear) is there some new super sophisticated way of serving these ads to me that bypasses my Cookies altogether? Something I never paid attention when (or if) someone was sounding the alarm? And, no I have never downloaded any questionable extensions, toolbars, helper apps etc. I am well versed in the usual Windows malware and tricks to manipulate someone's browser, it's nothing like that. It's not an evil app trying to take over, it's just a PITA Cookie or ??? that I don't know how or where to find to get rid of it. I hope that's all it is, or that you folks will point me in the right direction of whatever it is.
If anyone has time to explain this a bit and suggest what I might do to stop the ads, I'd greatly appreciate your time and info. And if you ever need welding equipment, I can give you several sites, a minute. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the help. Dumping Google cookies seems to have done it. I tried the responses in order and am grateful to Klaus1 also for the Glimmer Blocker suggestion but it was not needed. I wish I understood the "system" better and how Google gets around the only accept cookies from sites I visit setting. Seems Google is the 800 lb. gorilla and can do pretty much as it wishes. In short:
When the loader object is only referenced by a local variable within a method and there's no other reference to the loader, other than the EventListener, the loaded SWF file is being sporadically unloaded (by the GC perhaps) before I am able to access the loader.content! That's kind of a bug, I guess and not acceptable!
So any help would be much appreciated!

Safari Cookies and Google

I'm having problems signing in to my Gmail and Blogger account, when I try to log in I get this error: "Oops! Your browser seems to have cookies disabled. Make sure cookies are enabled or try opening a new browser window. " This is fairly recent, has only been happening for a month or so. And I have checked my cookies in Preferences, they are enabled. I have cleared cookies and cache and nothing has changed.
Safari version: 5.0.2
Mac Os X version: 10.6.6
Could anyone help with ideas of how to fix this? Thank you!

Go to Safari > Preferences > Privacy then click Details.
Type Google in the search field top right corner of that window then click Remove or Remove All.
Ditto for Blogger.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, go to ~/Library/Cookies. Move the Cookies.plist file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari. Try Gmail and Blogger again.
You are aware that you can update your OS X software to v10.6.8?
If not, click Software Update from your Apple  drop down menu.

I want third party cookies enabled in firefox for linux !! when it will happen ?

Hello. I have Firefox 24,i'm on linux64,and i understood that default block of 3rd party cookies,is postponed (again). I don't need cookies,as they're possible security risks and tracking,as i'm sure many of the linux users don't want aswell.
Why Mozilla postponed that ? Maybe some good 'advice' from the big brother Google ?
I used Firefox since the 2.0 releases,and despite all, i don't want to change the browser. Please some in charge keep it safe,and keep us safer.

Safari in Yosemite Clears Cookies whenever you Clear History?!

Hi All,
There are a couple of things that I'm not too happy with in the Yosemite update, this factor in Safari is one of them.
Whenever you clear your history in Safari, it clears absolutely everything; even cookies. I cannot find an option to stop this.
It's very frustrating when you clear the history and there is no data remembered on the websites you've visited and you have to login on sites etc every time.
Hope theres a way to disable it from clearing cookies!
