Disabled asset management tab in item master

hi all
am on 12.0.6
the asset management attribute tab region is disabled in the item master window
and in the organization items window too
i want to know why

Hi Sandeep,
You will have to understand what a fixed asseyt means.
Consider and example that your office is buying a PC which is to be used internally for office use. That means this PC will not be sold. Items like these which are bought for internal usage and which are not sold are to be marked as fixed assets.
They are manadatorilty to be marked as Purchased items and Fixed assets.
Also when you are dealing with these items you need to rememeber that transactions for these items fall under special Transaction category hence in the vendor master in the accounting tab you need to define the  Assets account for the Vendor.
Also all fixed asset items are laibale for periodic depreciation.You need to calculate the same for all these items.

    Hi Ganesh,
    If you have many OUs under the searchbase that you want to include, but one that you want to exclude, then you could add a filter to the Group Manager tab (in Identity System Console/Group Manager configuration/Tabs menu item) like:
    (!(ou:dn:=mygroup))
    where mygroup is the ou that you want to exclude
    Depending on your ldap sctructure, it may be more appropriate to add searchbases that you want to include rather than use filters to exclude those that you don't want.

    I Would like to hide all the tabs except sales and Inventory tab,how ever i have tried all the ways but when i navigate or do some updation Item Master form comes as default with all the tabs, Does SAP Business One Supports hiding of tabs .is it recommended to hide SAP Standard Forms tabs

    Hi,
    actually we came to the point that you cant hide them in the normal way.
    everything you do oItem.Top or oItem.Visible will influence the whole group.
    the last solution can be - put a big empty (with no caption) statictext label over the folders !
    than it looks like the other folders are not there
    give it a try - that's the last idea i have regarding this issue.

  • Suppressing the printing of Item Master record remmarks.

    Hello
    How do I disable the printing of the Item Master Data Remmarks from the Marketing Documents when a Text Line is present.  Example - When a Text line is added to a Sales Order, the PLD priints the remmarks on the Item Master record in addition to the Text entry.  I will like to suppress the printing of the Item Master record's remmarks.

  • Serial attribute and org attribute problems with item master

    IF i want to unassign an item from an org, how would i do tht
    The check is not updateable in the organization assignment tab
    Secondly:
    When i try to make an existing item serial controlled, i go to inventory tab on item master and when i change the serial control attribute GENERATION then "For some items it says APP-INV-05525: Either On Hand quantity or pending transactions exist for item, cannot change this value"
    But for same item if i choose GENERATION sales order issue than it works fine.
    Thirdly:
    How would i Use generated serial numbers..how to assign them or use them for issuing and recieving

    Regarding the 1st part of your query: Unassigning item from an Org
    You cannot unassign an item that way (by unchecking the Assigned checkbox).
    You have 2 options:
    1) Delete the item from the respective Org if it is not yet transacted in that org.
    Navigation : Items-> Delete Items
    Once selecetd this will open deletion Group screen, please enter a new group name and description and for type select Item from LOV and then in details Tab enter your item that you want to be taken out.
    Save the transaction and then click on Delete group button at the bottom of the screen --> this will raise a concurrent request.
    If it is already transacted in the respective org from where you want to delete it then system will not allow to delete the item for audit trail purpose.
    2) You can make the item 'Inactive' to prevent transactions or ordering (purchasing/sales) you can uncheck the appropriate attributes on that item in the org (assuming your attributes controls allow it at org level rather than master level).
    Regarding Serial number generation options a) At Receipt and b) At Sales Order Issue:
    a) At Receipt >> Create and assign serial numbers when you receive the item. As you move the material within inventory and until you issue it out you have to use the serial number for those transactions.
    b) At Sales Order Issue >> Create and assign serial numbers when you issue (ship) the item against a sales order. For this option serial numbers are required at ship confirm.
    Now as per the definitions given above, if there on-hand already exists in your organization(s) then you cannot set the serial generation control "At Receipt". Because in that case all existing on-hands should have serial number assigned which is not the case. On-hand should be zero to set the control "At Receipt". Hence system will prevent you from setting it to "At Receipt" when on-hamd exists. Also in your post you mentioned that you tried to change the control in Item Master, that means serial control generation attribute is set at Master level for you. In this case it will consider on-hands for that item in all the child orgs.
    On the other side if you are setting serial control generation "At Sales Order Issue" then seral number is not required for existing on-hands because it will be created and assigned during ship confirm. So system will not prevent even if on-hand exists.
    Considering the options available in the system your third question (How would i Use generated serial numbers..how to assign them or use them for issuing and recieving) not very clear. The "generated serial numbers" part is creating little confusion in mind as to what you are actually looking for.
    As explained above, if control is set "At Receipt" >> Create and assign serial numbers when you receive the item. Use the Lot/ Serial button on the right hand corner of the material transaction screen and enter the serial number.
    If control is At Sales Order Issue >> Create and assign serial numbers when you issue (ship) the item against a sales order. In the Shipping Transaction screen use Tools >> Serial Numbers option before ship confirm and enter the serial number.
    But if you have set the control as "Predefined" then, assign predefined serial numbers (by generating before hand) when you receive the item. Thereafter, for any material transaction, you must provide a serial number for each unit.

    What is u2018Required (Purchasing UoM)u2019 in the Planning tab of Item Master? What is the purpose of setting this value?  There is a validation that this value must be between the MIn and Max value. Why?

    The following is the Help by SAP for these Fields:
    Enter the minimum, maximum, and required inventory levels for this warehouse.
    In the Required (Purchase UoM) field, the system displays the quantity needed to keep the stock at the minimum level.
    The system:
    ●     Issues alerts when the quantity goes below the minimum (Release Stock Below Minimum Level in Document Settings must be selected)
    ●     Does not let you enter stock documents when stock reaches maximum quantity

  • Updating Standard Cost for an Item in Item Master Data

    How do you change the Item Cost field under the Inventory Data tab in Item Master Data if Standard Cost is selected as Valuation Method.  This field is greyed out.

    If you have an inventory in the warehouse , you cannot change the item price of the standard cost .
    So it is greyed out .Once you donot have inventory ,this field becomes active and you can enter the price .
    Second option is from Item Revaluation .
    Please test it in test environment

    Try the following
    Use when-new-form-instance personalization and disable all fields in the OTHERS tab. Once all fields are disabled, I believe the tab gets disabled too.

  • Unable to find the master data loaded request in manage tab

    Hi All,
    Iam unable to see the loaded request in the master data manage tab after some time of loading.
    Immediately after loading i could see the request.If i revisit the manage tab,iam unable to see the request.
    However data is available for the info object .

    hi Devupalli,
    Note your request number, find it using RSRQ tcode. Now click on the target icon and see if it takes you to the manage of your infoobject.
    There is a very common error which we sometimes make: are u sure you're checking the right thing? please check that if your infoobject has text, attribute and hierarchy, you're checking in the manage of the relevant one.
    For ex, if you're loading text, you have to go to manage of the text.

    I think you can do through SHD0 Transaction by creating transaction variants.
    If not possible there could be some customization from SPRO, consult with your functional guy.

    PERFORM USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION, I think in this perform you may disable, check this

    Go to Administration --> System Initialization --> General Settings --> Display Tab --> Default Length UoM --> set in Inch.

  • Item Master showing wrong Tax % in Purch. and Sales Tab

    In Item Master Data Purchasing and Sales Tab the wrong Tax % value is shown. It shows the value valid from 1.1.2011 and not the value that is currently valid. In all other areas it does show and use the correct, at current date valid value.

    You might be right that it is 'a bit early' for the 2011 rates. However, because
    - we got the official information about the raise next year
    - B1 offers the possibility to enter the new values with a validity date in the future
    - I am not 100% sure if it influences any 2011 predated document posted if the correct value for 2011 is not already present in the system
    - and in the end just to prevent me from forgetting to change it at the year end - what's done is done

    While creating Item Master Organization in R12.1.1, calender field is disabled. I have defined & built workday calender but field is disabled while creating Inventory Org. I couldn't find any reason on metalink as well.
    Can any one guide me about the issue ?

    We need to hide/disable the resources tab in project management screen. We are not using project resource management module and also the Profile Option "PA: Licensed to use Project Resource Management" has been set to "No".

    I already got an response to the issue from Julia through Oracle Community...
    Below is the solution -
    For the Project Management Responsibility where you want your Resource Tab to be disabled:
    Go to a System Administrator responsibility - Security - Responsibility-Define.
    Look for your resposibility of Project Management.
    Under Menu Exclusion Tab add a line with Type Menu and name "Project Resource Sub Tab".
    Click Save button and then go to check in your responsibility if the Resources Tab is disabled. (it should be).
