Discovered a fix for CS3 app crashes while printing in Mavericks

I was having issues printing in InDesign CS3 while using Mavericks. I found this link and it solved my problems.

This is the solution that AppleCare has told you. If you having the same problem that you had on your old iPad Air, and rsetored a back up from that same ipad, the problem lies in your data somewhere. And unfortanetely, we cant tell where. So import your photos to a computer, reinstall your apps from the app store, and use iCloud and iTuens to resycn everything else. You have to start from new. And Apple won't repalce another ipad with this problem.

CS3 apps crash at print, Leopard 10.5.5 update

None of my Adobe CS3 apps want to print--they all crash and burn the moment I hit Cmd-P. I updated to Leopard 10.5.5, and was able to print fine until this week. All of my Adobe apps are also up-to-date. The only difference was Acrobat 8's update, which I installed this week.
I'm on a 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel cheesegrater, with 4GB RAM.
Any help/suggestions is very much appreciated!

I've done Repair Permissions--doesn't work.
I used the incremental update from Software Update; if I download and apply the combo updater, would I need to archive and install my current system first?
I've also tried deleting and reinstalling the printer--doesn't work.
What I've done now is reinstall Adobe CS3, and updated InDesign to 5.0.3 only; still doesn't work, even though a similar setup on another computer (10.5.5 and ID 5.0.3) works with the printer flawlessly. So at this point I'm confused and very frustrated, and looking at the possibility of wiping out the machine completely and doing a fresh, full install of everything I have on it.

Fix for Music app crash with iTunes Match "on"

Sometimes if you try to use iTunes match for the first time on 3G(or any other cellular connection) it crashes Music app permanently. It can occur if you try to run Music app on the go with bad 3G connectivity so some data is corrupted or configured incorrectly. I had this twice, but found this "easy" fix without a need of PC/Mac computer & iTunes.
How to fix music app crash with itunes match "on".
Step by step on the iPad:
- delete all music on your device:
Go to settings->usage->view list of all apps->swipe music icon ->choose delete
- set itunes match off
- run music app
- give it a while till it shows "no music" info and only shop button. It needs to reload all settings and clear all data. Wait till no loading circle.
- go to settings app again
- music settings - itunes match on but "show all your music" off !
- open music app
- wait till all your music lists covers download. It will take a while. Scroll down to load them all if you want. Wait till no loading circle.
- go to settings app again
- music settings - show all your music on
- go to music app
- wait till it download list of all your music
Done
Maybe you can fix this with lesser number of steps but this way I'm sure it works.

Photoshop CS5 & Maverick -- App crashes while printing

Using Photoshop CS5 12.0 and just upgraded to Maverick. ´Print One Copy´ prints fine but really no use. When trying to print normally or trying to change settings in the dialog box PS just crashes. Am using Brother MFC-6490CW A3 printer. Other apps, (and PS before), print(ed) out fine so doesn´t seem to be a printer issue but I did re-install the driver just to take out any variables.
Anyone can help?

You didn't install any of the Photoshop updates. Go install them.

The crash is in organizer.My hard drive size could be an issue. I have only 11.8GB remaining out of a total of 139GB. Elements has stopped running and I don't have access to my photos. Crash took place while I was uploading pics to smugmug

Tried all of the fixes for Ical, still crashes short of reinstall

Hi All
I have tried to search for fixes for my Ical crashing, I have deleted the cashe, moved it to the desktop however it still crashes
I havent upgraded to leopard, I'm still running

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without be charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

If you want to see if a purchase went through, you can check your previous purchases in iTunes. If the purchase did go through and you were charged, yet the in-app item does not appear in the application, then you can report a problem with the purchase so it can be reviewed.

IPad Music app crashes while trying to choose my shared Mac music library. Only a few of the artists show up and if I try a search, the App crashes.

Any fix for disappearing apps?

I have an iPhone 5, and I'm currently running iOS 6.0.1. I have run into a few issues that I can't seem to find an answer for, but the most annoying involves disappearing apps. Here's what I mean: I will purchase/download an app (or several), then restart my iPhone by using the home/power button combo. Sometimes when my iPhone has restarted, some of my apps are no longer present on my device, and I can't find them by using the search screen. iTunes and the App Store show that the apps are still installed, but they are nowhere to be found on my device to open. The only place I can seem to find their existence is under General>Usage; when the list populates, the apps that I've noticed have disappeared from my device WILL show up on that usage list, but not have names, and when I tap on them, they show "null" for the description. I can delete them from that preference page and then I have to re-download the apps.
This is happening frequently, at least a couple times a week after I've reset my iPhone (after downloading an app, purchasing, etc.).
Any ideas? Thank you.

It might just be an old habit, but quite often I'd read "reboot your device" as a fix for cranky apps. Developers would frequently respond to their app's issues (sometimes even in the app update notes in the store) by making sure they told users to reboot their phones. I'm not a dev, so I can only go on anecdotal evidence seen posted by people as one method to stave off common app install/update glitches.

You are right — insofar as this forum is for the Shockwave Player, the plug-in for content created with Director.
However, many years ago Macromedia decided to call their brand new player for Flash content "Shockwave Flash", presumably in an effort to piggy-back on the mind-share that Shockwave had already gained. This has caused endless confusion ever since, especially now that the Flash Player keeps crashing. Take my advice and (search then) post on the Flash Player forum — you'll see any number of threads about crashes, presumably with some recommended fixes too

WIN8.1 crashes while printing from Acrobat reader

My PC crashes while printing from Reader. I installed the actual Driver for my Printer and repaired the Reader-Installation.
I can print without Problems with other applications.

I just signed up for FIOS and am not experiencing your problem (had enough other ones instead).
Go to mail preferences ~ click on a mail account ~ click on the advanced tab. The only settings that worked for me were: port 110 SSL OFF, authentication: Authenticated POP (APOP). If I remember correctly when I first set this up another window opened and I typed in my password and never had to do that again.

Almost all my apps have crashed while I've been using them-even iBooks while I needed to be studying for an online course. Sometimes the app crashes over and over again when I'm trying to re-open it. Even the Music app has crashed on me and refused to work unless I changed a setting of the repeat function before it crashed again, which temporarily solved the problem. Any way to get these bugs fixed? Don't tell me govt shutdown and furloughs are screwing up my iPad and iPhone! I expected a working iOS, not a beta.

Mac Pro App crashes while looking for server that no longer exists

PROBLEM:
Motion crashes every time I try to launch. Before it crashes, a window appears with the message: "Looking for "G4MDD"--which is my old G4 machine.
BACKGROUND:
I kept my old G4MDD networked to my MacPro Intel machine for a while during my hardware migration due to Motion app instabilities I was experiencing.
Finally, with Motion v2.1.2, I was able to run Motion on my MacPro reliably.
I disconnected G4MDD from the network, deploying it to another building, dedicated to other non-FCP purposes.
I have not been able to launch Motion 2 on the MacPro since. It goes out looking for G4MDD, then crashes every time.
REMEDIES I'VE TRIED:
Everything Apple suggests on the Motion troubleshooting page, including re-install of the app following all instructions meticulously.
QUESTIONS TO GROUP:
1) Is there some server-related preference file I can try trashing?
2) Any other suggestions?

The location should be /Users/your name/Pictures. You can change this by holding down the option or alt key (the ones immediately to the left or right of the cmd keys either side of the spacebar) whilst clicking on the iPhoto application icon in your dock and making an informed choice from the options you see.
By default iPhoto creates an iPhoto Library (the folder where all your data in iPhoto is stored) in the /Users/your name/Pictures folder. It seems that in the past you must have selected an externally or network attached volume named TOSHIBA as the location for the iPhoto Library instead using the instructions I've given you. All you have to do is revert it back to the location you now want.

Is there a fix for metro apps audio ducking while in a Skype call

Hello, I have been looking all over the internet for a fix for this but so far it doesn't seems like there is a way to fix this.
I'm trying to use Metro apps while in a Skype call but if I click out of the app the volume lowers to about 20% of what it was at before.
"When Windows detects communicates activity" is set to "Do nothing" but it does not control the Metro part of windows 8.1.
Is there some type of hack that be used to stop Metro apps from lower the volume when in a Skype call, Teamspeak or Mumble. As a gamer this makes the Metro part of Windows completely useless.

I made a test in my testing enviroment, when using Skype(Store APP) for phone call, system background volume would reduce, while after I'm back to desktop, it would return to former volume.
For your situation, this problem can be caused by Sound Card driver problem, you can try to reinstall Sound Card driver for test.
If no use, please also try to reinstall Skype for test.
