Displaying the drive letters of another PC connected through Ethernet

Am using two PC's connected in a network via ethernet. I want to read the drive letters (a:\, c:\, d:\, e:\, etc.....) of one PC and display in the LabVIEW application running in another PC. I searched the forum and found an example posted by tst (i think) displaying the drive letters of the same system. In my case i want to display drive letters of PC1 to LabVIEW application that is running in PC2.

I'm fairly certain that this information is not exposed to the network, but I can think of two workarounds:
Publish them yourself using a VI with a TCP based protocols (shared variables would probably do the job too). If you actually want to access them, this probably won't help.
Set them to be shared (in Windows, right click and select sharing). This is potentially dangerous and you will probably need to dig into the OS to find out how find and access them.
Try to take over the world!

Plug it into a wall outlet and leave it plugged in for approximately 20 minutes.
Then try a reset by pressing and holding the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds.
Does the device power on at this point? If not, the battery or logic board is gone.
Take it to Apple for evaluation.
It may be worth replacing the battery, but I personally wouldn't spend the $149US for an Out of Warranty replacement on a 3+yr old device.

It sounds like there is an issue with the Mac itself.

Even if you cannot connect by ethernet, at current location.. you can simply disconnect the TC from the network and bring it to the Mac and plug it in by ethernet. The TC can be reset if you haven't got a suitable current setup (save previous setup before you change it) and run just as backup device.. do the backup and then return it to the network.
If this is just a standard incremental backup.. then something has broken. The issue is not the TC pe se but failure in hardware somewhere.

Using the latest firmware. My WRT54GS (connected through a LAN cable) seems to randomely disconnect me from the internet for no apparent reason. For some reason, it can't find the DNS even though my cable modem shows that a connection is there. The only way I can get it working again is unplugging the router, reconnecting the, going into the router status menu and hitting DHCP release, then DHCP renew.
I'm not sure whats causing this though. Any help would be appreciated.

My GSv6 will function perfectly until my cable ISP decides to change my WAN IP address. When they do that the router will drop internet connection and I have to go throught the reboot process for the modem and router. Sometimes this works and all is well again until the next ip change, but other times there are still sporadic outages.

im having troubles using Airplay on my mac.. i connect my mac to the internet and home network using an ethernet connection to my router (non apple branded router) .. my apple tv 2 is connected to my home wifi network from the same router.. when i first set up my apple tv.. i was able to see the Airplay icon on itunes and it would let me Airplay media from my mac to my apple tv.. however.. it disconnects after a little while.. same thing with viewing my itunes library from apple tv.. i was able to detect my shared library from the apple tv.. i was able to play some media but then it disconnected after some time.. but now.. the Airplay icon doesnt show up in itunes anymore.. and i cant see my shared library from my apple tv neither.. ive looked around for a solution and followed the tip to turn the ipv6 off.. it worked for some time but now the problem is back..
i know the obvious solution is to connect my mac to the same wireless network as my apple tv.. but i would like to keep it connected through ethernet..

I wouldn't say that was the obvious answer at all, my Mac is connected by ethernet and 6 of my 7 Apple TV's are connected by wifi, I haven't had any of your problems. The problem is most likely on your network.
Intermittent problems
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.
Consistent Problems
A frequent cause of consistent failure to enable AirPlay or HomeSharing at all, is the service being blocked on the network. Make sure your network isn't hidden, has a unique name, that MAC address authentication is disabled, security is set to use WPA 2 Personal and that there is only one router/device acting as a DHCP server and providing NAT services.

itunes cannot detect apple tv when apple tv is connected through ethernet and the laptop is wireless, although both devices are in the same overall network.

Is there way to share Air-Port Wi-Fi connection through ethernet port?

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this, I have wireless network in the building, and is there way to configure Mac Mini to share Air-Port Wi-Fi connection through ethernet port (feed Vonage adapter)?

Have you actually shared wi-fi to ethernet on a Mac? I ask because it is not usually that simple, it is a more complicated configuration. Most folks who do it the way you described get a self assigned IP and nothing connects.

I have a Vonage phone adapter and Vonage does not provide the info that you need to hand configure these boxes, I have tried in the past with the one I have with a US phone number from here in Mexico.

Issue with table selection and display the seleted rows in another page as a table data

I have a requirement as below:
I have a custom OAF page having one button, on pressing the button it will open a popup window, in that i am doing search operation and data would populate in table region below.
Then from the table i am doing multiple selection of rows and i have a button, on pressing the button the seleted rows should display in the base page where i called this popup window and popup window should close.
so i am able to perform multiple selection of row from the table but how i can display the seleted rows in my base page and how i can close the poup window after the seleted rows displayed in the base page, please help me on this.

For navigation data from one page to another you can use a hashmap that contains the parameters.

All of our iOS devices are displaying the message that they can't connect to the Internet. All show good wifi connections. Our Macs all connect to the internet just fine suggesting that the network is good. I'm stumped.

Airport Utility on the Macs show good internet signals but on our two iPads and my iPhone 5 there are no indications of internet connectivity. One of the iPads is running iOS 7 but the other is still running iOS 6. The iPhone 5 is updated to iOS 7.
Is there a setting switch that if set incorrectly would create this problem? Like I said before, all the iOS devices stopped internet connectivity at the same time.
Update: Well while I was typing this I was called away to help get people to bed etc. And when I got back I tried all four iOS devices and, now, they all connect to the internet. I don't understand it. Two iPhones, different iOS versions, and two iPads, different generations and also different iOS versions, all decided that they would disconnect themselves from the internet but stay connected to the wifi network. Somebody must have an explanation for what just happened. Remember it isn't the router because the Macs all had uninterrupted internet connections. Weird!

I used to have a satellite connection to the internet. When ever the power went off I was told to turn on the devices in a specific order for them to work properly.
Try shutting off every device including all iPads, iPhones, computer, Wi-Fi router and Satellite modem. Then turn them on one at a time in the order listed below. Be sure to wait until each device completes its start up routine before starting up the next item. When my satellite modem was restarted it often had to download an update. The time this took varied with the update. So be sure the Satellite modem is up and connected to the Satellite before going to the next device.
1. Satellite Modem.
2. Wi-Fi Router
3. Your computer. Check to see that your computer connects to the internet.
4. iPad or iPhone and remaining devices one at a time.

Here's how you can potentially use your AirDisk with TimeMachine (beware that YMMV), but it should work as it works with every other "unsupported" device.
1) Mount your AirDisk so it appears on your Mac
2) Open Terminal.app
3) change directories to the AirDisk's root folder located in "/Volumes"
ie: cd "/Volumes/AirDisk Name"
4) execute this command to "bless" the drive to be used with time machine:
touch .com.apple.timemachine.supported
5) Start TimeMachine and if all went well, it should recognize your AirDisk drive and use it for TM.
This should also work on NFS shares, SMB shares, AFP shares, basically anything. It has worked up until the last developer seed, so unless they yanked this at the last minute, it should still work.
Now, the reason why Apple removed this feature may be due to the unreliability of the AirDisk, so be cautious.

This is normal (if somewhat unfortunate). His system should have warned him that the file would be deleted immediately instead of moved to the trash and asked him if it was OK to to do that.
You'll need to recover it from your backup disk, if you have one.

After setting up my brand new Airport Express 802.11n and accidentally using it to connect my iMac to the network...my iMac no longer connects through Ethernet? Any ideas...I have tried everything without success!!

I have been using Apple technology for about 10 years starting with 1st generation iPods and our house now includes a 5 year old iMac, all versions of iPods and touches, Apple TVs (both generations) and most recently an iPad 2. I set it up from my iMac and accidentally used it to connect my iMac to the network for a short time. Now I can no longer connect the iMac to the network using a hard wired Ethernet cable. I have tried resetting everything possible, from hubs to routers to the Mac itself and it just will not connect to the network through Ethernet any longer. I am now a very frustrated Apple user especially when the support site says I can't use the fast path support because my product was manufactured 5 years ago...I just bought it at BestBuy yesterday. All other computers and itechnology in the house are connecting via wifi and Ethernet without any issue except from my new iMac boat anchor. Anybody who can help me??? Thanks

I too hope I haven't tried "everything" either but I am reasonably technical. I had done what you suggested to do before but I did both again.
Ethernet is yellow in the left side bar. In the right pane it's status says Connected but then below it says "Ethernet has a self-assigned IP address and will not be able to connect to the Internet."
I have tried the assist me menu and Network Status has Ethernet Green, Network settings Yellow, ISP Green, and Internet and Server Red and Failed for both. I have turned things off and on, checked cables, deleted all locations and tried restting them up but to no avail. I even disconnected everything and connected the mac directly into the cable modem itself and the thing still will not connect.
Thoughts???

Modbus connection through ethernet using the NI Modbus library

Hi, first of all I want to say that I'm new to Labview, so I'm in the studying phase and I may have very basic questions.
There's a tool that's basically a big screwdriver with a controller that can be programmed to make certain jobs using desired speed and torque, it's called Handy2000. You can save in different channels the configurations for the different jobs. The controller has its own software, and I can already connect to it and read/write with no problem using an ethernet cable.
I was asked to make an interface in labview to select the channels, show in a graphic way (with photos of the electronic components) what screws correspond to that channel, and show when the steps of a job are done. All of this will be in a panel pc connected to the tool's controller.
Since I'm new to labview and to the modbus protocol, I took some time to study the basics. I understand how the protocol works and the very basics of labview programming, so I have an idea of how the front panel will be and what things needs to be modified. But now it's time to start the implementation, and I'm a little lost on how to make the basic configuration to setup the connection and start writing the addresses on labview. By the way I don't have the DSC module, I only have to use the NI Modbus library.
I already checked the example functions to use my pc as master and slave and watched the codes for the different type of data (coil, input, input register, holding register), but I don't know how I should start programming, and the most important thing is how to make some tests in the process to check that I'm having the communication between the pc and the controller. I already read in the forum and learned a lot, but failed to see as a completely newbie how to make and change the basic setups to make the thing work.
So any help is welcome, specific answers about how to make the basic setup and how to test it, vi examples or basic tutorials to read.

I can't even know if it's connected right
First I opened the Master Ethernet Example and the Slave Ethernet Example, and everything worked fine.
Now I tried to do it connected with ethernet cable to the controller using the Master Ethernet Example, and set the "Remote IP Address" to the address of the controller (which I already tested with ping and the connection with my PC is fine, and also I have no problem reading and writing with the controller's software). And when I run it, I get the error 56. The error tells me that it happens at TCP Read in MB Ethernet receive.vi:5. I attached the photo of that vi.
I really hope you can help, I need to establish the connection and being able to read/write at least something.

Time capsule not connecting through ethernet

Hey guys,
I'm having trouble configuring my time capsule as i only purchased it 2 days ago.
I have a Netgear DGN200 wireless router/modem and my plan is to turn off the wireless and use the TC as my wireless device as well as a switch to wired computers in another room but still use the Netgear as its wired to a computer. However i have my time capsule connected to a LAN port on the Netgear and connecting to the WAN port on the TC. When connected like this the port on the Netgear doesnt even like to indicate that it is connected. i know the cable is fine because i connect it straight to a computer and have full network access. I'm very confused as to why it isnt working because i have the TC in bridge mode and and have the TC connected to one of the lan ports on it.
Any help much appriciated cheers all.

The cable is through the wall then?? It can still be faulty and work on a computer if set to lower speed, eg 100mbit.. the problem on the TC is it doesn't have the ability to control the port speed in bridge mode..
Let me suggest you reset the TC.. and lock the WAN port to 100mbit full duplex.. do the connectivity leds come on.. if not use 10mbit full duplex.. and check again. Also try using a different short cable with the TC right next to the modem.. see if it then connects at full speed, which is 100mbit.
