Adding Container in the selection screen

Hi ,
I have a special requirement, I need to place a
long text editor in the selection screen. can any one explain it. this requirement is in HR report including PNP Logical database.
is it possible to add the Long text container ?

Adding fields to the selection screen of IW38

We have added some fields to the CI_AUFK include, they have also been added to the RIHAUFK_LIST structure. Currently the new fields appear in the ALV when the report is run.
What I need to do is add them to the selection screen.
Has anyone done this? I have been looking for a user exit etc, no luck.

Why not use the new enhancement framework?
Goto the main program in SE38 and click on the Enhance button - spiral icon (Shift+F4) and try to add new selections at the appropriate by implementing the appropriate enhancement.
I am sure you can achieve it using enhancement spots.

Adding field in the selection-screen of a zprogram

hi gurus,
i have to add field in the selection-screen of oppurtunities. in database i have a field salesvalues, some of oppurtunity guids have this field value. first i need to add in selection-screen in this alv report. and fetch the data from ztable into required field . if the input fields of the salesvalues field id filled, then filter the global guids(from global table which had the guid values already) with this guids related to salesvalues. and if one single guid mathes to 2 values of salesvalues then concatenate 2 values with comma and display in single field. if select-options are blank then fetch all opportunity guids which have salesvalues. pls give solution.

But still that field is not visible in the dynamic selection screen.

Adding attributes in the selection screen

Hi Experts,
I had enhaced Account assign group field in the data source 0material_attr.Replicated and data is loaded .
It is reflecting in the query also.
Now i need to bring this attribute in the selection screen.
Can anyone tell me how to bring this attribute in the selection screen..

Hi Ganesh.
The communication structure of a characteristic is based on the characteristic structure/attributes. So to add anything to the comm.str. you have to do this in the maintenance of the characteristic as you did.
However it is not enough just to add it to the detail/navigational attributes tab. You have to turn the attribute navigational by pressing the navigational attribute on/off button!
Do you use 0MATERIAL directly as an infoprovider to the query? If not you will have to choose the AAG as navigational again in the infoprovider maintenance!
Now drag and drop the AAG in the query designer (you will see the navigational attributes as a normal characteristic - propably with tech.name 0MATERIAL__ZAAG). Now right click and choose "restrict" -> variables tab -> right click -> new variable -> create the variable -> add it to the selection and you are done.
Hope it helps - and don't forget that assigning points are the way to say thank you in SDN.

I want to display a container in the selection screen. (the container which we can use/get in the alv out put when we select a ascending/decending sort buttons for filtering of sort order).

SQ01 - Adding a field to the Selection Screen

You have marked this thread as being answered, however, neither of your questions has been specifically addressed in the answers provided.
You can make any field from any infotype a selection field in SQ01. First, in Settings --> Settings uncheck the Graphical Query Painter. Enter the query and use the yellow arrows to the right to reach the Selection screen. Here, any field in your query can be checked to become a selection field. If the Graphical Query Painter is checked, go to your query. On the left you have your infotypes and fields. Checking the right hand box will make any field in your query a selection field.
For your second question, if you create your query in SQ01 in the "Global Area" it is transportable when saved and you should get a pop-up requesting the transport number. If you save a selection screen for that query with the starting designation "CUS&", it is also transportable when saved the pop-up should also appear.

Adding Standard Text to the Selection Screen obtained using PARAMETERS

I have a report program which has the selection screen declared by the key word PARAMETERS.
Now I need to make the changes to this program such that a Text Editor appears on the Selection Screen and has a Standard text that should be displayed.
How can I do it?
I saw the screen number of the Selection Screen and went to screen painter and tried to add the Text Editot..but it did not let me dou2026.Why?
How should I add a standard text to a selection screen? The standard text should not be on top , but some where on the screen.

I dont want to create a new screen for this. On the existing screen whihc was built using PARAMETERS key word..i should insert a blokc of text whihc is mpre than 5-6 lines..how should i do it.
I navigated to Text Elements---->Selection Texts
it is now asking for Name and Text and i see in Name column the name of the parametsr that they used for Check box, radio button etc and in Text i see the text that is appearing on the screen
Now i am not sure what is should do next
My req is..i should display a block of standard text that doesnt change and whihc is of 4-6 lines?
how should i do it?
please also help me with what data declartions that i should do in parametrs key word in program?

Compare the input filename in the selection screen

In the selection screen input field
there is an option of selecting the directory and file name and not the extension .
This is used to download the datas
Extension can be selected by using the option button
rtf
csv.
the user has to give only the filename and not the extension.
suppose if the user input is C:\temp\file1.rtf.
Either i should take only the filename
or i should display the message give only the filename and not the extension . its already been selected!!!!
I want to compare the input string contains .doc
how to do the comparison and to get the above results mentiond

Because the requirment is there are two option buttion for selecting the download file format
But unknowingly if the user gives the filename along with the extension. I need to handle that error
giving some error message or information message
By comparing the last 4 letters of the filename.. either.doc or rtf or csv or watever
so how to do that
then after comparing that i should give the user a msg doc type is already selected give only the filename

How to create the selection screen dynamically

I have a requirement to create the selection screen Dynamically. All the fields that should appear on the selection screen will be available in a custom table. So, based on the entries available in the Z tables, the selection screen should be built. Eg. If there are 10 records available in the Z table, the selection screen should consist of 10 fields. If there are 100 entries, the Selection screen should contain 100 fields. and the logic to build this selection screen should be carried out dynamically in the program.
Could anyone of you please share the valuable inputs on this. If anyone has the sample code to do this, please share.

If you are designing your own LDB with your own tables you can define tree structure and then the selection screen for the tables
if you wants to modify the std LDB of SAp means take the access key and to modify that code
if you add the extra field you have to modify the where conditions in the code also

Tables used LDB are in hierarchial structure.
Mainly we used LDBs in HR Abap Programming.
Where all tables are highly inter related so LDBs can optimize the performance there.

1. Call GR22 and click "Characteristics".
2. Check FKBER and assign a position number to it.
3. Save and close the library.
4. Call your report in GRR2 and you should now see FKBER as an available characteristic.
5. Use it in the General Data Selection or as a Lead Column, as per requirement.
Or,
1. Call GR21 and create a custom library. Provide a name and description and also provide a library you can copy from (scan for the best-fit library).
2. Now follow the steps 2 through 5 above to achieve your result.

Effect:
This addition specifies that the input field is displayed as a radio button in the first position on the selection screen, and the output field is displayed next to it on the right. The radio button is selected if the value of para is "X" or "x". Otherwise, it is not selected.
group is used to define the radio button group for the parameter. The name group is entered directly as a character string with a maximum of 4 characters. Within a selection screen, there must be a minimum of two parameters in the same radio button group. There cannot be more than one radio button group with the same name in one program, even if they are defined in different selection screens.
The parameter must be specified with the type c and length 1. Explicit length specification using len is not permitted. If the addition TYPE is used, it can only be followed by the generic type c or a non-generic data type of type
In a radio button group, only one parameter can be defined with the addition DEFAULT, and the specified value must be "X". By default, the first parameter in a radio button group is set to the value "X", and the rest are set to " ".
The addition USER-COMMAND can be used to assign a function code fcode to the first parameter in a radio button group. The function code fcode must be specified directly, and have a maximum length of 20 characters. To evaluate the function code, an interface work area of the structure SSCRFIELDS from the ABAP Dictionary must be declared using the statement TABLES. When the user selects any radio button of the radio button group on the selection screen, the runtime environment triggers the event AT SELECTION-SCREEN and transfers the function code fcode to the component ucomm of the interface work area sscrfields. If a function code used in the GUI status of the selection screen is specified for fcode, the selection screen processing is affected accordingly.
Note:
It is recommended to define the radio buttons of a radio button group directly underneath each other. If the selection screen also contains other elements, it is recommended to define each radio button group within a block surrounded by a frame.

F4 help in the selection screen from a int table

I collected the datas from the function module. and the internal table is populated.
the internal table contains manny fields.
among these fields i need to take only one field and this field value to be used for F4 help in the selection screen ( not a dynpro)
for example : in the selection screen
I have to select the PO.
based on the user i have filtered the PO. (determined dynamically by using the user name this i have done it)
then i have to assign the PO the selection screen.
