Distributing Forms Is Causing Acrobat To Crash

Every time I try to distribute my form Acrobat crashes.  I've tried distributing via Email and Internal Server, the same thing happens.  I get the problem signature below and have to close the program.  I even uninstalled Acrobat 10 and then downloaded a trial of Acrobat 11, I tried distributing the for again and the same error occurs.  Any suggestions?

Fatal error distributing forms with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.
    I click
    "Adobe Acrobat Pro/Formularer/Distribuer formularer/"
    ("Adobe Acrobat Pro/Forms/Distribute forms/")
and chose a form for distribution and in the picture "Distribute Form" chose
"Automatically download & organize responsees with Acrobat.com".
I then click "Next" and write an email-address to send it to (i.g. to my own)
    and then click "Send".
    The program quickly writes

When I clik "OK" I get the error message

I have undeleted and reinstalled Adobe Acrobat many times without any effect.

  • Are Distributed Forms created in Acrobat XI Pro compatible with Response Forms in Acrobat X Pro?

I want to be able to use distributed forms (created in Acrobat XI Pro) that I have received back through email with Acrobat X Pro.  That is, I want to be able to import the form information that is being sent back to me into a response form in Acrobat X Pro. Is this kind of "forward-compatible" issue possible?
Or, since I created the distributed forms in Acrobat XI Pro, can I only import data from those forms in an appropriate response from in Acrobat XI Pro?
    Thanks!

The distribution technique for email, network folder, or internal server haven't changed between Acrobat X and XI so you should be able to do this; however, it won't be managed through Tracker because you're distributing the form through different programs.

  • Why cannot I distribute forms in Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional (when following directions)?

Why cannot I distribute forms in Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional (when following directions)?

    Hello,
When you try to open Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional, the application returns the error "Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional cannot be launched at this time. You must launch at least one other suite component (such as Adobe Photoshop) before launching Acrobat 8 Professional."
Please try to do one of the following solutions:
    * Open another Creative Suite 3 application first.
*Open any other Creative Suite 3 application and follow the on-screen instructions to enter a serial number and activate your software. Then open Acrobat 8 Professional.
But if you have MAC OS - Move the Acrobat, Adobe PCD, and Adobe PDF folders.
Quit any Adobe applications that are open.
In the Finder, navigate to /Library/Application Support/Adobe.
Note: This folder path refers to the Library folder at the root level of the startup disk, not the Library folder that is inside a user's Home folder.
Move the following folders to your Documents folder or another safe location:
    Acrobat
    Adobe PCD
    Adobe PDF
Important: Do not delete these folders.
      4.  Open Acrobat 8 Professional.
      5.  Enter your serial number when prompted.
    Hope this one could help.

  • Bug: Previewing a dynamic form causes acrobat to crash

When I click on the preview pdf tab, i get an error that says Adobe Acrobat has stopped working. I am using Livecycle ES and Acrobat 8.1.1. I am also running on vista.

Adobe Audition engineering has acknowledged the issue, and determined it has - so far, at least - been the result of using a software "crack" to modify the executable and bypass the licensing scheme.  Unfortunately, as Adobe is not affiliated with the software piracy group who released this tool, and they have yet to respond to our invitation to discuss the matter in more depth, we are not at liberty to provide any solution other than suggesting the purchase of a licensed edition from an appropriate retailer.
On the other hand, the Everett Many-Worlds Interpretation holds that there is the possibility the same bug has manifested on a legitimate installation, and I would be very happy to investigate this further with your assistance.  If you launch Audition and click Help > About Adobe Audition > System Info  then send the resulting text file as an email attachment to [email protected]  I'll respond as soon as I can verify the legitimacy of the installation, and we can determine the source of this issue.
I would be very excited to find the problem exists with legitimate, purchased editions, not because I want bugs in this application, but because I would not wish to have the dozens of hours spent investigating, discussing, and trying to reproduce this issue to have been in vain.  However, so far we have spent far too much time trying to assist thieves demanding support for a product not paid for - time and effort that draws our attention from developing new features, helping answer real questions, and fixing issues that we are within our control.

  • Combining PDF Form causes fields to disappar, Acrobat to crash when trying to edit combined PDF

I have a 10 page PDF form that I can edit normally.  I combine it using the Combine Files wizard.  The resulting PDF has several fields disappear upon saving, and causes Acrobat to crash every time if I try to edit the form.  I can combine the original PDF form with no other document, and the error still occurs.  I have several similarly named fields, such as Name#1 and Name#2, and it seems that all those fields disappear after going through the Combine Files process.  I can open the resulting PDF, and fill in the remaining fields, but attempting to edit the form causes Acrobat to crash each and every time.
I have used this process before, with no problems, but it fails every time on this form.
This is the error in the Event Viewer: Faulting application Acrobat.exe, version 10.0.0.396, time stamp 0x4cc5ebc0, faulting module AcroForm.api, version 10.0.0.396, time stamp 0x4cc5f5cc, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0012d905
This is using Acrobat X Standard and Pro on XP Pro and Vista.
If I open the original PDF, and insert a new PDF as new pages, that works fine.
I updated Acrobat to the latest patch, problem remains.  I don't know how to resolve this.

Did a little more testing and this is what I found. If I use the "Insert from file" feature to combine a cover sheet plus 3 AcroForms (inserting each file one by one), eveyrthing appears to work.  However, if I use the "Combine via Acrobat" feature I run into the issue of fields disappearing once combined.
I shoudl also add that perhaps the issue had something to do with the fact that I initally produced the cover page pdf via Photoshop "save as PDF". Perhaps that contirbutted to the structure issue despite it being a PDF...maybe under the hood things are structured differently.  Who knows.
Just FYI for others: What appears to be working is using the "Insert from file" option vs "Combing via Acrobat". Also, if you are including a non-AcroForm PDF, be sure it a traditional vs. saving as a PDF from Photoshop.
Alot of this may be a fluke, but it seems to fix my issue - for now.

  • Adobe [Acrobat] 9 distribute forms issue

I'm trying to distribute forms through adobe [Acrobat] 9 and I can only send the form to people in my address book through Acrobat.com as an attachment, but not as a link.
However, I can send a link to the form to people not in my address book via Acrobat.com with no issues. I've also noticed when I add people in my address book to the list of recipients it says it can't resolve the address even though I specifically added it through the address book. We use office 365 and I'm using outlook 2007. Is there some known issue?
    [Edited by host for clarity]

I'm using the retail upgrade version, currently on 9.3.0.  I had to upgrade from Acrobat 7 Pro when I got my new Win7 computer.
One thougth... the more I investigate this problem, I can't help but wonder if I somehow turned off the screen that is supposed to come up when I click the Distribute Forms button.  I just ran through the 20-minute video at http://tv.adobe.com/watch/creative-suite-podcast-designers/acrobat-9-complete-forms-workfl ow and it reminded me of the wizard screen that is supposed to appear with the three options (use Acrobat.com, email, internal server).  I haven't seen it, which makes wonder if I checked the "always use this option" button and now I can undo it.  Every option that I've tried on the Forms menu immediately takes me to the form with the purple bar mentioned in my original post.
    Thanks,
    Kim.

  • Acrobat XI hangs when adding a response from distributed form, when specific form field is filled

As the question says, when using the distribute form functionality of Acrobat, it hangs at the step of importing or adding a filled form, when a specific field on the form is filled.  It happens whether the tracker automatically detects it when I open the distributed form and asks me to add it, or I manually try to add it in the responses form. Here's the screenshot of when I tried manually adding it.  The first line is the one that hangs and is missing all fields except that "Approved" check box.  But it's the last field "ApprovedDate" that makes it hangs if it's filled in the form.  The Progress dialog just stays there forever and I can't click cancel.  When it tries to add it automatically, nothing appears on the screen, the form just stays open and the tracker doesn't come up.  I'm on Windows 7, Acrobat XI Pro.  I can send you the form if needed.
Edit: I investigated further and there were Java scripts associated with that date field.  These would have been added while creating the form in Acrobat; I don't remember how exactly, but I only meant to validate the date format.  I've removed all the scripts and reset the desired date format on the field and it seems to work now.

I use Mavericks and Acrobat XI. I haven't had any issues so far.

  • Maximum number of responses using distributed forms?

What is the maximum number of responses allowed with distributed forms?

That depends on how many people have access to the form. If you distribute it to 500 or fewer recipients, then you can collect and use data from any number of responses. If more than 500 recipients, you can use data form no more than 500 responses. By "distributed forms" I'm assuing you're using the Distribute Form feature of Acrobat, which Reader-enables the form in the process.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Extended crashes when trying to distribute form

    Hi.
I am experiencing an issue with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on Windows XP Pro SP3 32-bit.
I have created a pdf file derived from an html and css file.
The pdf file comes out perfectly with form fields automatically detected, etc.
However, when I try to distribute the form, by clicking on
    1. Forms > Distribute Form...
    2. Manually collect responses in my email inbox..
    3. Save a local copy and manually send it later.
Acrobat.exe crashes with faulting module acroform.api. when trying to create the response file.
Faulting application acrobat.exe, version 9.0.0.332, faulting module acroform.api, version 9.0.0.332, fault address 0x00025878.
    Any ideas?
I can successfully distribute a different form created from InDesign.
    Thank you.

Any ideas?   there was an update on adobe dated 2/25/13.   Perhaps if I uninstall it?   I need advice on how to uninstall. When I view updates and click on it, and then click uninstall, it goes back to the Program Screen, in Control, for all programs. Then do I click on Acrobat and Uninstall?  I am nervous about doing this. Thanks

  • Acrobat 9.0 Crash on importing distributed form responces

I am having problems with a particular distributed form that I am working with.  I have several distributed forms with no problem when it comes to importing the forms into a responce file, save one.  Whenever I open the responce file it will automatically try to import new responces and looks like it does one sucessfully but always crashes on a particular import.  The last thing it says before the crash is:
"Importing data sent by Someone A. Someone, Psy.D>..."
The only thing that is odd about it is the person used a ">" insted of a "."  However it would be silly if that was the problem because that might mean that data is not getting sanitized on import and is messing with the code.
I have attached a bug report that was generated.
A workable solution, if that responce form is the problem, would be if I could somehow remove the offending responce from the tracker but get the other responces.

just to better explain my problem.
    1. i created the document in Word and used Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Standard to save it as a PDF and create form fields..
    2.  I then used acrobat.com to distributed and restricted the file to emailed recipients only.
    3.  The recipients received the file okay.  however were prompted to create a login and password in order to access the document.
         a.  through my understanding they should have been able to open the file and fill it out using adobe reader or Acrobat.
         b.  also my understanding that acrobat.com would track the submissions - has only tracked one via Adobe Tracking Notification.
i use adobe products but an new to acrobat.com file sharing.  I thought this would be a more convenient way to track and discuss the form with colleagues but am finding it to be just the opposite for them.  Any insite would be helpful at this point.  thank you!  I hope this better illustrates my issues.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - distributed form - unreadable reponses

Have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - created a distributed form for emailing - emailed it to parents and most files come back readable - have 4 file that are not readable - they will print okay but they are not readable by the "responses" files - tried to save  them a a new pdf file but new saved files also came back unreadable by responses file. The readable files are of a size 257K whereas the non-readable file sizes are much smaller - any ideas as to what is happening to these?

The files may have been filed out on a Mac using Preview not Reader. Preview is known to cause problem wrt form fields.

  • Distribute Form does nothing in Acrobat 9.0 Standard with XP Pro

I am using Windows XP Pro SP3 and Adobe Acrobat 9.0.0 Standard via Enterprise Distribution (all features avaialble, none disabled).
I made sure that (up top) Advanced > "Extend Forms Fill-In & Save in Adobe Reader..." was selected and saved in this document.
When I click (up top) on Form >  "Distribute Form", I get either no response or the Next button does not work (when trying to distribute by Outlook email).
I have used Add/Remove Programs and repaired the installation. Repair ran successfully. No change to Adobe...
I also removed the installation, rebooted, reinstalled from enterprise distribution successfully, and rebooted. No change to Adobe...
    What should I try next?

    Thanks for your reply.
I downloaded and applied all 19 updates, rebooting where required, and now I am up on Acrobat Standard v9.5.1. This did not resolve the issue...
I still get no action when I click Next on the "How do you want to collect responses from your recipients?" window with "Manually collect responses in my email inbox" chosen in the drop-down box. When I select "Automatically collect responses on my own internal server" in the drop-down box and then click next I can proceed to the next window and select a network folder or sharepoint server, but I will have to use my email for this distribution (some recipients are outside my company, and I don't have a sharepoint server to use)...
Also, just to be sure my first form wasn't corrupted, I created a new PDF document from my original Word document using the Start Form Wizard. The PDF created cleanly with no links or bookmarks. I did not use the "Extend Forms Fill-In" separately as you suggested. I just left it as the Form Wizard created it, then I added the four separate digital signature field boxes, one at a time (neither copying, nor using Place Multiple Fields).
This new form also would not distribute by email. What to try now?
