Do we get hardware support from iPhone from iYogi?

Do we get hardware support from iPhone from iYogi?

Stay away from iYogi, I just had an experience with them. I bought a Canon Pixma inkjet printer with abilitie to print DVD's. But I couldn't figure out the way to do it, they have colorful templates for dvd's and I want a plain template to do full DVD discs.  I called Canon and was sent to these guys.
One guy answered, said he could do it but didn't know very much how to do it, and took over my computer to "check things out" and discovered it was "slow". I said I didn't care just tell me how to do it. Short story is that he said they would have to clean my computer first and then he could tell me.
I said no thanks and he kept pressuring me until I told him to forget it. I hung up, went to my PC uninstall where I found their program and uninstalled it. There's a lot of people asking for this.
My ultimate solution is to return the Canon and get a new epson that prints DVDs like my old one.

  • How to get direct support from apple

Hi, I am a new iPod user... I have just created a new account and I am having problems with language support. So I tried to get support from Apple and ended up here...
So my first question is, is this forum being maintained exclusively by iPod users or are there any apple employees helping too? Is there otherwise some other way to get help online from apple or are we on our own, just as if we were using any piece of freeware software?
And here is the original question that made me look for support: I live in Spain but like to use my PC in English. My Windows is configured for English, and so is the iTunes software. But since I have registered my user account under a Spanish location, I cannot avoid getting the iTunes Store in Spanish language. The result is a mixture of Spanish and English in the iTunes window. Is there a way of changing that and keeping my Spanish profile and billing details while getting all text in English?
By the way there must be a bug in the registration process... the first time the credit card data is requested, it says "if you live outside the US click here", so I clicked there, then selected "Spain" and I got an OK screen which ended my registration process... but the account was not created, since I was getting "unexistant account" responses. So I had to create the same account again... the second time iTunes knew I was in Spain so I could proceed with the credit card data and the account was created. This means that the screen flow fails to create a proper account in the cases where you have to select a different billing country.
OK... that is all, sorry for the long list of questions.

is this forum being maintained exclusively by iPod users or are there any apple employees helping too?
Though on rare occasions you will see a post from an Apple employee, the Discussions are intended for user-to-user assistance only. There is no guarantee, nor even a strong likelihood, that an Apple employee will ever respond to any post here.
Is there otherwise some other way to get help online from apple or are we on our own, just as if we were using any piece of freeware software?
It depends on the problem. If you're having a technical problem with iTunes or an iPod, you can call Apple tech support (there is no support via email for problems with Apple hardware or applications). The call may not be free, depending on when you purchased your iPod and whether or not you have AppleCare for it.
If you have a problem with the iTunes Store, then go to the iTunes Store Customer Service site, select the page most appropriate for your issue, and submit the web form that you'll find at the bottom of those pages (note that the form won't be on any KnowledgeBase article page, only those from the Store itself).
I cannot avoid getting the iTunes Store in Spanish language.
To the best of my knowledge, the Spanish iTunes Store itself is only available with Spanish titles, etc., regardless of what language you have your system set for.
As to your registration, did you get the account created successfully? Or is there still a problem and if so, where is it hanging up?

  • IS it me or did I get poor support from Apple? Any advice on this long one?

OK, so I’m curious, am I a complete idiot or is something else going on here?
    Please help…
    Here is my story.
I contact Apple Support for my new Imac. Reason being, I am a PC guy who switched, and have had only one user on the machine the past 45 days. Now since I think I know what I’m doing, I want my wife to have a separate login, and be able to share the same Itunes/Iphoto/Imovie folders. I tried some Google/apple website ideas/book on Mac. But no success. So I call Apple support.(since I am covered for the first 90 days I think) And this is where it gets interesting.
First guy I talk to, I mention all the above, his first response. "Well, we don't support that kind of issue here, sorry,(after I state the typical, Huh? This doesn’t make sense.) He says, "ok ok, Lets see what we can do. But we are not supposed to be supporting this type of issue.”
I restate the issue, and he says "Well, I’ve never heard of someone wanting to share the same Itunes folder with another user on the same machine", I explain that there must be some misunderstanding, so I explain again that all I want is to have two different users, be able to share the same music files, and I say that I cant believe that he has never heard of this. The support guy then says," Well, I have handled over 10,000 calls, and I have NEVER had a call asking about this."
So I then ask for another tech support person, and after a 10 minute hold, I get someone else.
[First question for everyone, is this normal Apple Support behavior? I have the O'Reily book on switching to the Mac, and they have a couple of pages on the shared Itunes folder, which I explained to the tech and he said he never heard of it.]
The next guy was an annoying *** who was a know-it-all type. I’m fairly decent in the tech realm and with PC's, and I explained to the guy that I initially created other users, and was playing around with the folder permissions. And I thought that that might be where my problem is. He tells me that I need to follow his instructions, and we end up rebooting, and doing some fsk (or close to this) checks, and some disk repairs. They all come up ok. After finding out that I still cannot get access to my folders in my shared directory, he tells me that all my files are corrupt and that I probably lost them! (in my best Moe the bartender voice) WHAAAA ?!
I then proceed to my shared folder and do my own (apple I command) and tell the guy the permissions are for the other user. The tech then starts to lecture me that I never told him this and that we need to have a better open communication in a very condescending tone.
Now, this is the funny part, RIGHT after this lecture, he starts telling my to start putting some files into the public folder and telling me that anything in the public folder will be shared by all users. Public this, public that, blah blah public…I look around, and after a little while I say, there is no public folder here, just the shared folder. "Oh yeah, He says, that’s what I meant to say.." Open communication, Yeah Right!
We then get my files for Itunes in the shared folder, and finally are able to see the files from both users. But, when either user is in Itunes, we go into the general advanced prefs, and change the default folder to the new Itunes folder for the music, within the shared folder, and go back to Itunes, there is no music coming up. The guys has me restart Itunes, and nothing. We then do the same thing about 3-4 times, including rebooting, and no music comes up within Itunes.
At this point, my son was becoming a menace, as was my wife for we were supposed to be outside somewhere, and I was beyond frustration, so I just said, get me the case number and Ill call back some other time.
And get this, later that night, on a whim I open Itunes, see that there is still no music, click on Add to Library, point it to my folder that’s under the shared folder, and it now shows all my music. (whether or not this is correct, is another story, but It looks good to me)
So, can anyone out there offer any insight to this episode? Am I out of line? Am I missing something? I’m ticked off because I come from the PC realm, and it looks like I never made it t the glorious Mac land yet! Help!
Oh, as Steve Jobs would say, ONE MORE THING...During all this back and forth multiple user switching, I have the fast user switching on, and when you pick a new user, the really cool cube thing whips around, well, as of last night, it stopped doing it, and would just kind of refresh the monitor to switch users, and as of this morning, the cube thing is now back. I didn’t change anything with this, is this normal too?
Thanks in advance for any insight!

Sorry your experience wasn't a plesant one, but most of the issues they work on are hardware in nature, not software.. I'm not taking up for Apple... I'd had my share of run-ins with them as well.
As for your iTunes issue... an EASY solution is to simply tell iTunes that the location you want your tunes stored in is your Public folder. Items in your public folder can be seen and opened by others, so your wife could easily access the files there.
For you, go to your Music folder, find the iTunes folder, and drag it to your public folder.
Next, go to iTuness>Preferences and click on the Advanced tab, then the General Tab, and the first window you see is the iTunes Music Folder Locataion. Click Change, then navigate to the iTunes folder in you Public folder.
Now, next time you purchase a song from the iTunes store, or import songs from a CD, they will be stored in the iTunes folder, in your public folder.
You wife does basically the same thing except she navigates to YOUR public folder, and the iTunes folder inside.
She will have to manually find and import any new songs you add but at least your entire library will be available for her to listen to.
There are other ways of getting the same thing done, but I think this is the easiest.

  • Get hardware version from web page

Is there a way to find out exactly which hardware version device I'm working with. I'm troubleshooting remotely and _think_ a firmware upgrade would do the trick (DDNS timeout). I'm pretty sure it's a WRT54GS v5 or 6. The current firmware is v1.50.5, Jan. 20, 2006.
    Thanks,
    tpm

if firmware version is 1.50.5 then i believe hardware version is WRT54Gv5 or v6... latest firmware version for the router is 1.52.2, go to www.linksys.com/download and download the latest firmware for the router...

  • Possible to get push IMAP from host provider account?

My e-mail is hosted at the same provider that hosts my domain name: Total Choice Hosting. I have my new iPhone 4S set up to access my email there with IMAP, and for the most part it's working fine.  The only issue I have is when I go into Fetch New Data->Advanced: my iCloud account shows Push as an option, but my IMAP domain account only offers me Fetch and Manual.
I set up my IMAP account using the "Other" option, was that a mistake? Is there a better way to set things up so I can get Push support from my domain email?
    Many thanks in advance!

IMAP does not support Push. There is no way around this. IF your provider supports Exchange Active Sync, you can set it up as an Exchange account, which does support push.

  • Can't get Apple support anymore?

Does anyone know how to get support from Apple?  I know I used to be able to submit questions to them, but now when I try it takes me to some "Express lane" for Itunes support and I can't even start the process because it asks for my serial number.  Ummm... sice when does Itunes have a serial  number?
Do they no longer offer support for Itunes or something?
    Anyone know how to proceed?

Any suggestions?  I know I used to be able to get "official" support from apple...

  • Best way of getting technical support?

I am trying to figure out how to get technical support from Adobe. I have spent at least two hours on hold this week trying to get help with what is a bad disk. I wasted about an hour doing what technical support told me to do, though I had already done it in various forms before, just to make sure I was not missing anything. I have tried very hard to keep my patience during this time. I had started a web support case that went nowhere. The only true response I got during the period was asking me what the problem was, even though I had told it before. Once I responded to that with a jpeg image of the errors I was seeing, I never heard back from them again. Currently I am starting to think that the only possible solution to get a working install is to remove it from my system and argue with the company I purchased it from. They will probably refuse it, so I will have to go through my credit card company to take back the money and the hassle that is involved with that. If I can get a replacement DVD without wasting my money, I would find that acceptable. So, is there any place I can go to get some contact with Adobe? Currently I am on hold a second time after being dropped within two minutes by technical support.

Thank you for your response, but I already had done so. It was a bad disc. I never did manage to get much in the way of technical support. The only time I managed to get in touch with them on the phone ended up without any positive results. I actually called Customer Service the first time as I thought that was the direction the one response I got from my web case was going. They sent me to technical support, who asked me to run through a kb and call back if it did not work. I had already tried just about everything suggested there, but I went ahead and did it. When that did not work, I called back and was told to talk to the Acrobat team. The thing was that this was starting right after the suite was installed, so really it WAS an install issue, not an App issue. The technicial representative then told me to try another kb, but this was for Windows exclusively. When I mentioned this, she sent me to one for the Mac, which wanted me to use a removal application. The thing was that CS4 was just being installed, as I had told them, and that no Adobe software that had not been installed with Snow Leopard had ever been installed on the system prior to this. Despite this, I went ahead, installed Snow Leopard on a brand new partition. As I expected, it did not work. I removed the install through the Adobe Uninstaller,  I then ran the clean removal app that technical support asked me to, in case it would remove something else that I was not aware of. Not too surprisingly, it did not find any Adobe applications on the hard drive. Then came last night when I made this post. I spent about an hour on the phone on hold until I finally got a technical representative. I was only able to tell them my case number when the phone disconnected. In other words, Adobe was not much help at all on getting my issue resolved. I tried to call back, but had to leave after another forty minutes on hold. When I got back, I thought it was worth a try to see if Adobe had any disc images of CS4 online as they did have a donwloadable version to buy. I found the trial of Design Premium that could be converted into a full version. I downloaded that last night and installed it this morning. All seems good right now. I just wish someone from technical support would have suggested that earlier, especially as I was asking for a new disc as all my testing and my experience was indicating a bad disc. It really would have helped with customer satisfaction. As it is, I am VERY hesitant to purchase any other Adobe products. I do not want to have to worry about spending a large amount of money on something that I will know more about than the person on the other side of the phone. In other words, I am not really happy with Adobe. In the end, it has gotten resolved.

Perhaps try uninstalling and reinstalling both iTunes and Bonjour. (Reinstalling iTunes should also reinstall your Bonjour.)
Can you enable the Service now?

  • ITunes destabilizes Windows, not getting support from Apple!

    Hi everyone,
I'm posting here out of frustration, b/c the last two times I contacted ITunes support with previous issues, I received no response from Apple.
My current issue is that the ITunes program (6.0.2.23) continually destabilizes my computer. I hope everyone will agree that it is not right that running one particular program causes problems for other programs and for the Windows OS in general.
Please note that I am not experiencing any problems with any other programs other than Apple ITunes for Windows.
    Symptoms (always occur):
    1) After playing ITunes music files for several minutes, the audio becomes garbled and harsh-sounding. Closing the ITunes program doesn't correct the problem. Instead, all sounds and audio in Windows are garbled and harsh-sounding until the computer is rebooted.
    2) If other programs are running when Itunes is running, and the ITunes visualizer is selected from the ITunes menu with "Full Screen" checked, then all other running program windows get "moved" to my 2nd display from the primary display. Even if the other program window is minimized, when I restore it, if it was on the primary display before, it now appears on the secondary display.
In my opinion, both of these problems should be unacceptable from the point of view of system stability.
The only thing I can imagine is that ITunes uses a driver which hasn't been tested / verified for Windows systems with 4GB RAM, and there is a memory hole issue. I've seen memory hole issues already with other vendors (e.g. Tyan BIOS), so this wouldn't be a surprise.
    Any constructive comments appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Brad
