Do we need SSL recertification if we upgrade from j2sdk 1.4.2 to Java 1.5.0

Hi!!
I've upgraded my Java from 1.4 to Java 5. My application runs on JBoss 4 and Tomcat 5.5. Initially J2SDK 1.4.2_03 using and now changed to J2SDK 1.5.0_17. Can I use the same SSL certificate that I'm using with old environment (jdk 1.4, JBoss 4 and Tomcat 5.5) with the new environment (Java 5, JBoss 4 and Tomcat 5.5)?

You only need a new certificate when the old one expires. Changing JDKs has nothing to do with it.

Try to use -target 1.4 option of javac.
Default mode in jdk1.5 is -target 1.5 and it generates classes which are not supported by 1.4.

You can't run iMovie 11 on a PPC G5 running the old OS 10.3 Panther - which is what you say you have.

Why do I need professional installation if only upgrading from U100 to U200?

Why do I need professional installation if only upgrading from U100 to U200? Isn't this done remotely? And even if I need new equipment, why isn't there a self-install option?

I don't see why you need someone to come out. I assume U100 is the same as U-Family which means you have a DVR already.

11.1.5 is likely to be the version of iTunes you are being asked to run, not the version of Mac OS X.

You need to use a different IP address for the SCAN VIP. In your example, it cannot be the same as dlpqcora1.
Also, if you are not using a DNS to resolve it, then be aware that only one IP address can be configured (from note +[ID 887522.1] 11gR2 Grid Infrastructure Single Client Access Name (SCAN) Explained+ ):

CCX Script - Need to Be updated when Upgrading from 7X to 8X w/ SQL Integration

Got a customer we're planning on upgrading from UCCX 7X to 8X. They are currently integrated with an external SQL DB. I understand I need to download the appropriate driver for 8X for SQL. The question I have though is whether the UCCX scripts themselves need to be updated as well or will the 7X scripts that have the typical DB read/get/write/release work when I do the migration?

They should work as-is but your only way to be sure is to test them. I would only anticipate an issue if you were doing complicated logic that CCX didn't support in the first place. Simple SELECT queries should continue to be fine.

Did you need to reinstall FCS after upgrading from Tiger to Leopard?

Need to upgrade from Tiger to Leopard mid FCP/Motion3 project and without FCS2 discs handy...I can't access them til after the project deadline.
I've read in a KB article that 'most' of the apps are ok after the upgrade-what's your experience?

#1 You MUST have a new OS to complete the project (i.e. new plug-in only works in 10.5)
AND
#2 You'll have a lot of extra time on your hands to reinstall everything when FCS doesn't quite work the way you need it to.
Of course you're familiar with the recommendation to clone your system before ANY upgrade.

Just need Mavericks base installer to upgrade from Mountain Lion. Company hasn't approved Yosemite (3 weeks).

A month ago, I could have just downloaded the upgrade for Mt. Lion to Mavericks. Now, I can't find it. All there seems to be is 10.9. to 10.9.10 updates, no base Mavericks. All other update requests, questions, and queries at the Apple Store and iTunes go right to Yosemite. Even my Mac obnoxiously says I need to upgrade to Yosemite (like it did for Mavericks, I can't turn the upgrade notification off). I need Mavericks.
My company won't allow upgrading to Yosemite for at least another month, if not longer. I want to upgrade now to Mavericks in the interim, and I can't because I can't fine an installer. I can't do Bit Torrent either, so can't go to any "free" sites.

You are lucky. Downloading from torrents often downloads malware and in this case would be illegal.

How to do FCP upgrade from 4.1.1 to 6

Am using FCP 4.1.1 on G4 dual proc mirror door and G4 powerbook. As I have been out of the country without access to techie stuff, I need to know if it is possible to upgrade from FCP 4.1.1 to FCP 6 utilizing the Studio 2 upgrade.
Am considering putting FCP on both an old machine plus a new Macbook Pro.
I am unfortunately not a geek, but just want to use the software once the installation challenge is met so please give me simple advice to follow step by step. Also have original FCP versions all the way back to V1, so would I need to load that disk and all other versions forward? Also would the V1 need to be installed with OS 9 open if the process needs to start there? Your help is much appreciated.

You will need to purchase the $699 "Upgrade from Final Cut Pro or Production Suite". When installing, it will ask for the serial number from any full retail version of Final Cut Pro (not academic and not an upgrade to a previous version). You won't need the discs loaded or installed, just the serial number. Your FCP 1.0 number should work.

Upgrading from CS2 Suite (Win) to CS5 Suite (Mac)

Over the last few days I have twice called Adobe UK sales and have been assured that I can easily upgrade my Windows CS2 suite to a Mac CS5 suite.
I was told that all I have to do is enter the CS2 Windows serial number during the CS5 Mac installation and it will be accepted.
However I have found no mention of this anywhere on the internet.
Has anyone been given the same or conflicting advise by Adobe for this type of scenario?

Adobe are even contracdicting themselves re CS5 upgrades.
I was told by the UK sales team that I wouldn't need to submit a letter of software destruction upgrading from CS2 Windows to CS5 Mac.
However, the Adobe on-line representative said I would.
I can understand this requiurement for a straight platform swap of the same version.
However, if I am upgrading, I surely need a valid suite to upgrade from?
If I destroy my CS2 I will no longer have a valid suite any longer!
I have also found out that PhotoShop Mac CS5 will apparently no longer have the ability to print printer profiling targets with colour management disabled. Supposedly Adobe labs are developing a separate utility for printing profiling targets but with no ETA. This means that I will have to continue to use an earlier version of PhotoShop anyway!
With these uncertainties, contradictions and complications I have now cancelled my order.

Performance suffering after upgrading from 10.4.10 to 10.4.11

I've got an 800 MHz Powerbook G4 with 1GB of ram, which I use mostly for checking email, surfing the internet, and watching videos (via S-Video out to my TV).
It has always been plenty fast for what I need to do, until I upgraded from 10.4.10 to 10.4.11. Now videos are stuttery; it's painful to even watch Youtube videos, and I can't watch Hulu videos at all. Everything is a bit slower, not just video; navigating in the finder is now somewhat sluggish, file copies take longer, etc.
Nothing other than the OS version has changed, and no other upgrade I've done has resulted in a performance decrease. I hear this is the last 10.4 update. Is there any way I can revert to 10.4.10 without reinstalling the OS entirely?

Ii\t appears to be time for a relatively painless Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space and no Disk corruption, and is relatively quick & painless...

You cannot use the standard desktop Snow Leopard upgrade on a machine running any flavor of OS X Server. There is a lot of 'under-the-hood' functionality that would not take well to attempting this and could render you with a dead Mac until you reinstall the original OS.
If you wish to keep the Server functionality, the Snow Leopard Server upgrade ($499) is the only option.
If you wish to ditch the Server functionality and use the standard desktop version, you would need a copy of the desktop version of OS X 10.5 Leopard and the ($29) Snow Leopard upgrade. Apple does sell both 10.5 and the Snow Leopard upgrade in a combo bundle.
