Documentation on N1 OSP plug-in

Hi, I am trying to figure out what to do next. I am trying to provision to bare metal via SPS OSP plugin via ALOM. I have installed SPS 5.2 MS and SPS 5.2 RA on different physical hosts. I have imported the OSP plug-in. I was able to setup a host record for the RA and prepare the host. Is there documentation on where to go from here?

Let me first describe some of the details about the OSP. It performs a lot of cr_cli in the background and this is done as root. So if you setup to run cr_cli with SSH then you need to allow to do SSH as the root account to run these commands.

Then the process is quite simple imo:

First if you follow the guide from docs.sun.com then it takes you through all the steps needed to install and configure this.

Using N1SM may be easier in one way but there are some limitations such as only allowing flash archives and not using JET for cusomized installs.

Here is a short recap on all the steps needed:

- Load the plugin 
- Prep the hosts 
- OSP Control Server 
- OSP Subnets 
(remeber to select IP network in the same space you intend to provisioning in) 
- JET Solaris Image Servers 
 
After this you create the target where you enter how to access the ALOM, LOM, IPMI or whatever console you have, including IP, Login and Password.

Then you create profile and select which JET modules to use, and after that you are all set to go and to click Provision OS

I downloaded the 6.0 plug-in and opened up all the jars, and I don't see any evidence of FLAR support in 6.0. If this is so, where can I download JetFLAR.pkg?

Hi,
JetFLASH is not included in OSP 6.0 Plugin. You must install JetFLASH module additionally on the JET server by hand (or deploy it by SPS).
After that you must recreate your profile, so that you can use needed flarcreate parameters in the jet templates...

Migrating Adobe Plug In

Hello Experts,
We have a plug-in which imports csv data to adobe form, developed for Acrobat 6 and 7, but the same plug in is not working in version 8.
According to adobe documentation re built the plug in with SDK 8 headers using VS2005.Re built the Plug in and generated with out any errors,While running/invoking(in Debug mode) getting
Debug Assertion Failed , pop up window having acrobat.exe
File:wincore.cpp
in wincore.cpp points to
ASSERT(pMap-->LookupPermanent(hWndOrg==NULL)
then
ASSERT(::IsWindow(m_hWnd)
wincore.cpp is part of MFC libraries.
please need some input from experts to run plug in.

Best practice for Documenting SOA Composites

Hi,
I am looking for any general guideline or best practice to create documentation for composites developed as part of a project.
Are there any plugins which help export in Visio or other tool?
I don't see a create JPEG button on composite editor similar to BPEL, so any suggestions for documentating that?
In general, i would like to take your opinions/suggestions to adapt a process for a better documentation.

As such there is no such guidelines or best practices which are followed for documentation.
You may plug in your source control system with Jdeveloper but it will help during the coding process.
We have used OER in our project for maintaining documentations and the relationships among different files (be it xsd's, wsdls, bpels, mediator , etc)

OS provisioning plug-in v6.0: Is it possible to provision OS on bare metal?

Hello all.
I've installed N1 sps + OS provisioning plug-in v6.0.
I can't create Sun ALOM Target.
The Run Plan needs already prepared Target Host.
Does it means that to install OS I already must have installed OS? It is very confusing.
Has somebody experienced such problem?

There is a lot to set up. I was successful in earlier versions last year. I am attempting again with N1SPS 6.0, but cannot find the 6.0 or earlier 5.2.1 OSP plug-in in the Sun Download section.

SSO to partner application running under IIS

Hi,
We have a complete set-up for 9iAS Release2 where some applications are running. In parallell we have an application running under IIS, and would now like to enable the IIS application as a partner application to 9iAS letting the 9iAS SSO server handle the authentication.
In the documentation of Oracle Proxy Plug-in I read that this proxy plug-in can be used to proxy requests from IIS to Oracle http server (OHS) and also in this way enable SSO.
My question is if this can be done only for applications running under 9iAS but having IIS as web server, or if it is also possible like in our case to enable SSO via the proxy plug-in to applications runnind under IIS?
If this is not supported is the only available solution to use the SSO SDK in my IIS application?

See Metalink Note 269820.1 which shows you how to use Perl to overwrite the host name in the HTTP header and remove the port number.

Problem with Apache Plugin

          I follow the Same rules and i install ed the Apache server and i copy the *.so file that required for apache(if i commented out the LoadModule weblogic_module libexec/mod_wl.so , serverrunning fine)
          But whenever i am trying to run apache Server with that
          Its given a error like
          "BUG IN DYNAMIC LINKER ld.so:dynamic-link.h:57: elf_get_dynamic_info: Assertion '! "bad dynamic tag" failed!
          ./apachectl start: httpd could not be started
          If u will give some help about this its most helpful for me.

Which version of Apache are you using? Are you on Solaris?
          Have you enabled the bootstap module mod_so for apache? Do httpd -l to ensure that.
          Did you use apxs to deploy mod_wl.so?
          Please go through the steps described in the docs again to see if you missed something.

After Effects & Effects Plugins

On the verge of getting After Effects. I am going to d/load the trial but i wanted to ask this first. Have been looking at various tutorials on the CreativeCow site for some things that i want to use After FX for.
There a lots of effects that have the CC preifix and also a particle generator that has a Z on its preview screen, are these included in After FX or are they extras that i will need to buy. Going to be on a pretty tight budget so i dont want to find out after shelling out that i need to pay out even more for these.

The CC effects are Cycore FX effects that are included with the full (non-trial) version of After Effects.

How to call a method when the browser is closing

In my application I need to execute a specific treatment when the WD4A application is closing. So how can we have a handle method for this specific event.
I've seen some documentation about the "exit plugs" , and about the doonclose method of the window.. but I don't think it can be useable for me in this case.

I wrote an insert into the method i set up a break point, the program never call this code and therefore, the new row is never inserted.
But i think, it's a misunderstand.
to summarize :
I have an application in WD4A
The application is running, and then I decide to close the browser (in my case internet explorer) and before the browser close I want to execute a piece of code.
If the method wddoonclose is to be used, is there any default handler or listener to trigger it automatically on the browser closing ?
If no, how to trigger a method base on this special event .

after quite a while struggling (also due to the poor documentation) with CHIPS and Plugs and ...
the first part works, I get the parameters from BPM into the WD-A.
But I have not yet found a way to tell the iView that my work is done.
The standard Outplug from WD-A (Window and/or View) do not trigger the surrounding iView.
With WD-J there comes a popup asking if the task should be closed, with WD-A not...
Any help appreciated, even if the topic is quite new.

with the "new" NW ABAP - Stack now it's working!
Requirements:
NW ABAP 7.02 SP8 (not the ABAP-Preview with SP6 -> simply doesn't work!)
NW CE 7.30 SP3
and some tweaks in the portal configuration, but that will always remain a miracle to me...
Special trick for German users:
You have to provide Logonlanguage "DE" in the NWDS-Server settings (or you have to manually input english texts for the WD-A CHIP).
Otherwise the text is empty and NWDS is sorting out your entries!
Small hint to the masters at SAP:
The CHIP-"search" list provided is ok for playing around but not suitable for real work.
no sorting, no filtering, small window, no details,...

Struts, JSP 1.1 spec and WLS 5.1 - issue with useBean and getProperty

Hi there, I am attempting to compile a JSP page using Struts tag libraries and Weblogic 5.1 with Service Pack 9.I have defined the bean using <jsp:UseBean id="myBean" ... > and then attempt to access its methods using <jsp:getProperty name="myBean" ... > This fails with a 'myBean is not defined as bean' error. When I replace the <jsp:getProperty ...> with a scriptlet e.g. <%= myBean.getCustomerName()%> it compiles and runs just fine.I have read that the WLS server may be enforcing a strict implementation of JSP spec 1.1 which the Struts tags may not be adhering to (?).Oddly, when I start WLS without invoking the Service Pack, the error disappears and the <jsp:getProperty> works as expected!Any official reason for this strange behaviour? ... TimesTen database in Sun Cluster environment

Hi,
Currently we have our application together with the TimesTen database installed at the customer on two different nodes (running on Sun Solaris 10). The second node acts as a backup to provide failover functionality, although right now only manual failover is supported.
We are now looking into a hot-standby / high availability solution using Sun Cluster software. As understood from the documentation, applications can be 'plugged-in' to the Sun Cluster using Agents to monitor the application. Sun Cluster Agents should be already available for certain applications such as:
# MySQL
# Oracle 9i, 10g (HA and RAC)
# Oracle 9iAS Application Server
# PostgreSQL

Our question is whether Sun Cluster Agents are already (freely) available for TimesTen? If so, where to find them. If not, should we write a specific Agent separately for TimesTen or handle database problems from the application.
Does someone have any experience using TimesTen in a Sun Cluster environment?

The Netscape plugin for WebLogic is mentioned many time in on-line
documents for WebLogic servers. However, I can't find any information
with regard to how the plug-in is distributed, licensed. Could someone
please tell me if it is bundled in the server download? How do I install
this thing? Is there Apache plugin for Solaris platform?
