DocumentViewerRN LOV values

Can you tell me how the "Template" and "Format" lists of values in the DocumentViewerRN common region are constituted?
Where do the values come from?
What happens if there is only one template and/or one format?
Thanks,
Bob N

Thanks for your reply, Ravi.
On page 12-3 of the current XML Publisher User's Guide (B13817-06) there is a picture with an arrow pointing to the "Document Viewer Common Region". I assume that by embedding this region in a page, I will see the same components: Template, Locale, and Format drop-down lists, and Go and Export submit buttons. Is that correct?
I also assume that the values are somehow derived from the parameters sent via the controller with something like:
BlobDomain result = (BlobDomain) am.invokeMethod("getXMLData", tcParameter);
pageContext.putSessionValueDirect("XML_DATA_BLOB", result);
Is that correct?
Finally, I assume that the region to be embedded is oracle.apps.xdo.oa.common.DocumentViewerRN. Is that correct?
Thanks again,
Bob N

  • Getting error while selecting LOV value

    Hi all,
    I am getting the below error in R12 apps while selecting the lov value from list (But it is working properly in 11i apps and loacal jdeveloper.)
    Error: Stale Data
    The requested page contains stale data. This error could have been caused through the use of the browser's navigation buttons (the browser Back button, for example).
    Cause:
    The view object ProjectInformationAM.EmployeeLOVVO1 contained no record. The displayed records may have been deleted, or the current record for the view object may not have been properly initialized.
    To proceed, please select the Home link at the top of the application page to return to the main menu. Then, access this page again using the application's navigation controls (menu, links, and so on) instead of using the browser's navigation controls like Back and Forward.
    The lov query is select employee_number,full_name from per_all_people_f
    I have tried both internal and external lov but both cases it is showing the error in R12
    I have used below code in PR of create page, still no use
    if(!am.getEmployeelovVO1().isPreparedForExecution())
    am.getEmployeelovVO1().executeQuery();
    Row row1 = am.getEmployeelovVO1().createRow();
    am.getEmployeelovVO1().insertRow(row1);
    row1.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED);
    Except this lov all lov's working properly,
    Any one help on this it is very very urgent....
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I had a similar issue just now, and we fixed it in this way. But the case is probably different compared to your situation.
    Situation:
    - custom inquiry page
    - case: manual search, so not results based or Auto Customization Criteria
    - multiple search criteria fields
    - separate AM for all the LOV fields
    - each LOV has its own VO
    - Results table on same page, but with its own VO
    - each search criteria field has Lov mapping to the corresponding external Lov region
    Issue: when selecting a value via the Lov and coming back into the search page, I received the stale data error.
    searched lots of places and finally figured out what was wrong in my case.
    Each search field had its BC4J properties set to the VO of the results table. And since we wanted to make a manual search thing, this is not good.
    Removing the View Instance value and the View Attribute value in the properties of the search fields resolved the error.
    Hoperfully this can help other beginners, like me, in finding a solution for the same mistakes... :)

  • Displaying item value on basis of pop up lov value

    Hi ,
    I have created a form on which i have a pop up lov item whose values are getting displayed on basis of a table column.Now my requirement is that when a user select a value(for ex: say an code i.e 123) from pop up lov then on basis of this value an another value pops up which shows the description related to this code.I have this description in another column of same table from which i have displayed pop up lov values.
    I tried to implement this by creating a display only item on form and taking source value of this item from sql query returning single value as code is primary key but I am unable to fetch value.I have written the following query:
    select model_code from BL_VEHICLE_ENGINE_NAME where catalog_code=:p9_catalog_code
    Here p9_catalog_code is the item displaying pop up lov.
    when i am specifying a particular value rather than bind value as (select model_code from BL_VEHICLE_ENGINE_NAME where catalog_code=123) then the description corresponding to this value is getting displayed through display only item.
    How can i fetch value from pop up lov and utilize that value to display required description.Is displaying description through display only item correct or is there any other way around through which this description could be displayed more effectively.
    Thanks
    Abhi

    Hi Abhi,
    Instead of pop up lov you can use cascade lov ie when u have data like say if u select code from ur table 123 and it has more than one description then u can use cascade lov it will query upon the first lov what u required.
    Or coming to ur problem
    for code pageitem say p1_code u are using pop lov (you can try select list instead of pop up lov )
    and for description u r using display column.
    and give the source as return single query only
    select descp from table where code=:P1code.
    Hopes this helps you
    Thanks & Regards

  • How to set the LOV value programmatically?

    Hello,
    I have a LOV (select list with submit) the value (displayed and corresponding returned) of which I would like to set by selecting a row in a report.
    What is the event I use to catch the selection of the row in the report and what would be the sample code to set the LOV values?
    Thanks a lot!
    Gabor

    Perhaps a more detailed explanation of the issue helps:
    I am developing an online internet bookmarking application. It basically contains a folder tree and bookmarks within the folders.
    The folder tree is implemented by a table referencing itself (main columns are: ID, NAME, PARENT_ID).
    The LOV lists the NAMEs (actually, the full path of each folder as returned by a function) and returns the IDs.
    When the user selects a NAME, folders and bookmarks contained in that folder are listed in a report (non-recursively).
    The action of the user clicking a folder in the report should simulate the above as if they selected the name manually. This is where I need help!
    I hope this helps. Thanks!

  • How to change the dynamically  LOV value to old value if it errors out

    We have an use case like when a value is selected from LOV, some validations(EO validations) occur on that and if the validation fails we are throwing exception.But the new value is appearing in LOV text box. We need to display the old value in the LOV if the validation fails. Can you please let me know if there is any way to do that?

    After thinking about this, I wondered if I had mis-read the use-case....so I added #2
    Please state your Jdeveloper version, and elaborate on your use-case:
    *1. Are you saying that the LOV contains incorrect values that the user has chosen?*
    If so you should restrict the LOV values to what is acceptable for the row (based on what other values are in the row)
    By restricting the values in the LOV the wrong value can no longer be selected, you would not need to build in functionality to revert back to previous values.
    I woud start by creating a view criteria for the view object the LOV is based on. The form values would send the binding variables to the view criteria, and that would then execute the query (invoking the view criteriea). The LOV would then contain some information on only acceptable values.
    You may be able to adapt some of the ideas presented in this video (on cascading list boxes) to make your LOV work properly. http://youtu.be/WTevRnXq04o
    This video shows some ways to manipulate view criteria: http://youtu.be/dX93fiBCxEg
    *2. Are you saying that the user has selected other fields in the form -- validation on those fields fails, and you want to revert back, but the LOV still contains the values selected?*
    In that case, you need to clear the values in the form and re-execute the view object -- and refreshing to the correct value.

  • How apex generate LOV values for Interactive report

    Scott,
    For interactive report, does APEX full table/index scan to generate the LOV drop down list every time user click the column header? If I set max row count to 100, does LOV values only derived from the first 100 rows that apex hits?
    If I enter SQL query in "list of value definition", will that sql get executed every time users click the column header or the result is cached?
    For standard and interactive report, does APEX parse (soft/hard) the sql statement again when user do pagination?

    Hi N.Raj,

    Yes you have to Configure BI Publisher or other.

  • Passing LOV Value on URL

    I've tried searching through the forumn and the documetation for APEX, but I could not find how to pass an LOV value on the URL.
    I.E: Multi-Select list with values 1;3;5 selected.
    You can't put 1;3;5 in the URL's item value spot as the semi-colons will throw off the parsing of the URL.
    Obviously an LOV with only 1 selected value is possible as it does not require any semi-colons.
    Ideas?

    Passing the value on the URL is a must here is why:
    The functionality being provided is a basically a search that appears inside of an iframe that is styled to look just like a standard pop up. The search functionality allows for different criteria to be searched upon based upon a number of given fields at the top. At some points it is nicer to provide default search criteria based upon the context of the parent page's item values in session state (which is usually not editable by the user); one of these being from a value set from a multi-select list.
    The page when opened will open with the default criteria already applied with the list of selectable items being shown. Going through the DOM to obtain the item is not an option because
    1) The page should not visibly refresh after it opens and loads.
    2) Even if visible page refresh were an option: The iframe is calling a page that can be shared between other pages (meaning its searching function is atomic and reusable) and the source value item can and does change. Which in turn means that the element's ID is not referenceble unless it was passed into the page. But then again, refreshing a page and rednering it twice does not look good.
    Passing the value on the URL would be most advantageous as it requires only a single page render inside the iframe.

  • Selected Lov Value as Parameter to Concurrent Program in oaf

    Hi,
    iam new to OAF ,Can any one please help me how to pass selected lov value as a parameter to the Concurrent program in oaf.
    i created one lov in oaf page after selecting value in lov i want that value to be passed as parameter to concurrent program.
    Please help me how to implemet code so that Lov will pass as parameter to the concurent program in Controller.

    Check these links. You need to get the value from the LOV to a variable, add it to the vector and pass to the conc program. Below link provides the details on concurrent program submission.

  • I want to update lov value from text_item

    Hi Expert,
    I have query regarding updating the LOV value which is populating every text_box.
    Gone through the discussion, bt I got the help if I have LOV button.
    If I have LOV in text_item nt in button then how could I write the execute_query
    Bcs when im trying to update the record then it is inserting duplicate record.
    For the example:
    Customer is block where Cust_no is text_box with LOV(LOV_Cust).
    Plz give me solution
    Thanx

    You question seems answered.
    To update a record, you need to query the record first, then only you should change the cust no.
    Otherwise , that is record selected from LOV is considered as new record by the system and it will insert a new record.
    If you have put LOV to cust no, allow the user to select from LOV only in the ENTER-QUERY mode.
    In when-button-pressed of button and key-listval of cust_no, write like this
    KEY-LISTVAL of cust_no
    If :system.mode = 'ENTER-QUERY' then
    list_values;
    end if;
    WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED of button
    If :system.mode = 'ENTER-QUERY' then
    go_item('cust_no');
    list_values;
    end if;

  • Lov Values are not showing for Discoverer Reports in Application

    Hi,
    I developed some discoverer reports, those reports having parameters with LOV. Those LOV values are showing in Discoverer Desktop, but after registering those reports in Oracle applications those LOV values are not showing. Pls let me know how resolve this issue.
    Regards,

    Hi,
    Also it is necessary to know how the LOVs are defined. Are they based on Application flexvalues for example? In which case it may be that you have not got your NLS language parameters set correctly when connecting from Applications.
