Does owb support nvarchar data type?

When i imported a source table from oracle9.i database,it can not import nvarchar type column.
How to support it?
thx

I suppose you mean NVARCHAR2, there is no such datatype as NVARCHAR.
NVARCHAR2 is currently not supported, but it will be in the next major release. The workaround now is to write a view to translate NVARCHAR2 into supported type VARCHAR2.

  • JDBC/RMI driver does not support BLOB data type

WLS 5.1 JDBC/RMI driver does not support BLOB data type. It is said in the Weblogic e-doc.
I am using DataSource for database connections, meaning JDBC/RMI driver is actually producing
database connections. I need several columns of BLOB types in my Oracle tables.
Should I use the "JTS" driver instead in order to have the BLOB types supported ?
    Thanks for help.

The error java.rmi.UnmarshalException seems to indicate you are somehow accessing the data-source over RMI, this seems odd. Are you running TopLink on a client and trying to connect to a WebLogic DataSource on the server?
Maybe try connecting directly to the DataSource without going through TopLink and see if you encounter the same issue.
You could also look at the TopLink WebLogic Examples and see how their configuration is different than your own.

  • Any idea what this errorr means? the data type of the reference does not match the data type of the variable

I am using Veristand 2014, Scan Engine and EtherCat Custom Device.  I have not had this error before, but I was trying to deploy my System Definition File (run) to the Target (cRio 9024 with 6 modules) and it failed. It wouldn't even try to communicate with the target. I get the 'connection refused' error.
I created a new Veristand project
I added the Scan Engine and EtherCat custom device.
I changed the IP address and auto-detected my modules
i noticed tat Veristand didn't find one of my modules that was there earlier. (this week)
So, i went to NiMax to make sure software was installed and even reinstalled Scan Engine and Veristand just to make sure.
Now, it finds the module, but when i go to deploy it getsto the last step of deploying the code to the target, and then it fails.
    Any thoughts?

Can you deploy if you only have the two 9401 modules in the chassis (no other modules) and in the sysdef?  I meant to ask if you could attach your system definition file to the forum post so we can see it as well (sorry for the confusion).
Are you using any of the specialty configurations for the 9401 modules? (ex: counter, PWM, quadrature, etc)
You will probably want to post this on the support page for the Scan Engine/EtherCAT Custom Device: https://decibel.ni.com/content/thread/8671
Custom devices aren't officially supported by NI, so technical questions and issues are handled on the above page.

  • The conversion of a nvarchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value.

Below select statement results in "The conversion of a nvarchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out of range value"   error. By the way Terms
    field's data type is nvarchar
     SELECT * from INVOICE
    where convert(datetime,Terms)
    BETWEEN
    '01/01/14'
    and
    '01/30/15'

If you can't use TRY_CONVERT (It's only available in 2012+) You should be able to validate the data with something like this (based on your example date formats):
    DECLARE @notDate TABLE (Terms NVARCHAR(10))
    INSERT INTO @notDate (Terms) VALUES
    ('01/01/14'),('02/29/14'),('01/32/15'),('13/13/14'),('13/3/14'),('13-13/14'),('02/29/12'),('02/29/13')
    SELECT *,

    Hi Srinivas,
We are working on Modelling in SAP PI, but we are unable to create any Business Object.. is there any specific steps need to be followed.
Once we login to our ESR from index page we have this option to choose
    Available Profiles :         Process Definition
                                       Service Definition
                                       Unregistered.
We are getting the option of new types (_Business Object_) only if we select Unregistered Profile and not in other Profiles . Is there some settings need to be done.

  • VB6 NI-USB-9237 DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan selected physical channel does not support the measurement type required

I have a VB6 program with code that properly reads analog inputs from an NI-USB-6008.
I tried to re-use the code for a strain-gage module NI-USB-9237, but at the DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan step I get the following error:
"Measurements: Selected physical channel does not support the measurement type required by the virtual channel you are creating.
Create a channel of a measurement type that is supported by the physical channel, or select a physical channel that supports the measurement type."
Should I be calling a function other than DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan?
If so, what is it, or where can I find the reference for such functions?
Or - if that is the right function, should I pass different arguments?  Currently I'm calling:
    DAQmxErrChk DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan(taskHandle, "Dev1/ai1", "", DAQmx_Val_Cfg_Default, -10, 10, DAQmx_Val_VoltageUnits1_Volts, "")
Thanks in advance for your help

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I figured it out from 372251a.PDF
First, the correct function is DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChanWithExcit
Second, you can't just ask for one sample on one channel - ask for 2 samples instead.

  • OWB 10 -  Integer data type

    Hi,
I am using OWB 10.1.0.2 and using the file module. In the flat file structure i want to pick the data type -
INTEGER(8) however it has no Integer type but has INTEGER EXTERNAL.
I want to use INTEGER(8) how can I use it. OWB dows have that type in file mod.
    Thanks
    HB

No Integer & Integer External are not the SAME.
INTEGER specifies binary data, while INTEGER EXTERNAL specifies character data that represents a number. I am loading Large Binary data.
So basically, INTEGER(n) is full-word binary integer, where n is an optionally supplied length of 1, 2, 4, or 8. Other imp thing is by default, INTEGER is treated as a SIGNED quantity
When using the INTEGER(8) - it instruct SQL*Loader to process the integers as 8-byte quantities, as oppose to the default 4-byte quantities. Integer(8) support was introduced in Oracle 9i.
So basically I need - INTEGER(8) to process large binary integers I8 and I don't see them in OWB 10.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Does OWB support snowflake ?

I know OWB supports Star schema design. But Does it support the Snowflake design?
We are thinking of a Supply Chain Global Data Warehouse where we get extracts from our Contract Manufacturers around the world and load the extracts into this Global Data Warehouse. I am exploring possibility of using OWB for this purpose, but I need to see whether the tool has any limitations.. one I can think of is whether it supports Snow Flake schema.
Apart from above question, another question is has anyone built a supply chain DW like above and any references, whitepapers, books or links to refer to? Please let me know
    Thanks much

Well, this may end up being a "religious" debate around snowflake or star, but the general idea is that there should be no real reason to revert to a snowflake dimension. The database should be able to handle a lot of data in a single table...
But to answer the question directly, we do not yet support snow flakes. We will do in the new release out later.
We get asked this question quite a lot, and the answer is that unless you have a lot of data in a single dimension (billions of records) there should be no reason for snowflaking...

  • Does endeca support update data now or in the future?

The question is like this kind of scenario: Now the endeca page retrieves data from a oracle database's table. I just want to know if endeca has the functionality to update a piece of record. For example endeca page can have input filed and submit button, when user enter the new data in the input field and click submit button this piece of record in the database is updated. Does endeca support this functionality now or in the future?

If you are genuinely syncing to 4 webmail accounts you will only hold copies of the last 7 days of emails and folder contents in Playbook (or 14 or 30 days if you set it).  All the archive material over that age resides only on the web.
You need to go to webmail to clean them up.

  • 4.0 EA1 - Data Modeler does not show columns data types correctly

Data Modeler shows all columns data types as 'unknown'.

    Hi,
you need to check "system data types" directory and it contents. Its default location in SQL Developer is sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\extensions\oracle.datamodeler\types
Check "Preferences>Data Modeler>Default system data types directory" setting. If it's empty then copy defaultdomains.xml from previous installation to directory above.
If it's not empty then you need to copy types.xml and defaultRDBMSSites.xml from default location to directory set as "Default system data types directory".

  • No support for date type in object views !?

The very simple example below raises
    SQL Error: ORA-00932: types de donn&eacute;es incoh&eacute;rents ; attendu : DATE ; obtenu : DATE
Occurs on XE and 10.2.0.3 on HP-UX
    Any clue?
    Thanks,
    Robert
create type t1 as object (id number, time date)
    create view t1v of t1
    with object identifier (id)
as select 1, sysdate from dual
    ;

There is no need for a constructor when all attributes are assigned.Unless there is a date value, apparently ;)
It also works if you explicitly <tt>CAST(SYSDATE AS DATE)</tt> so perhaps the internal limitation is to do with the two internal DATE types (type 12 and 13, if you check DUMP output).

  • PM : Does PM support multiple  Class types for Equipment classification

    Hi,
Do  Plant maintenance support multiple class types for the classification for the equipments.
Our  Customer has created his own class type other than 002(Equipment) for the classification and wants to know weather PM supports such class types or not.

    hi
i think you can use the your own class type provided you have done all the settings related to the standard class type 002,also if you have create your class type your standard class type will be changed to either the newly created one or 002 based on settings made by you

  • Oracle forms 10G -Version 10.1.2.0.2 will it support timestamp data type ?

    Hi all,
We are having database server - oracle 10g enterprise edition R2,
forms - Oracle forms 10G -Version 10.1.2.0.2 on windows 2000 professional.
We have created a table which has a column of type "timestamp",the following is the structure.
    CREATE TABLE  "STOCK_AREA_MASTER"
            (     "STOCK_AREA_CODE"     NCHAR(5)       NOT NULL    ENABLE,
                  "STOCK_AREA_DESC"     NVARCHAR2(40)  NOT NULL    ENABLE,
                  "RECORD_STATUS"       CHAR(1)        DEFAULT 'A',
                  "USER_ID"             NVARCHAR2(20)  DEFAULT USER,
                  "TIMESTAMP"           TIMESTAMP (6)  DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP)
    [\code]
We  tried to invoke this table(stock_area_master) using database block wizard in forms 10g,we were expecting to see the columns in this table, but we got the following error
    FRM -10095 - Assertion failed
on seeing the forms help for the error FRM-10095,We are getting the following message
FRM-10095: Assertion failed in %s, at %s:%d. Cause:  An internal inconsistency was detected. Action:  Contact an Oracle support representative, and proceed with caution
    We have the following concerns.
1.) is it possible to have datatype "timestamp" in forms 10g,our researches show that we can manipulate using datatime datatype in forms, our requirement is have to precision of 6 digits(millisecond - format - dd/mm/rr hh24:mi:ss:ssss),we are able query and view precision to the tune dd/mm/rr hh24:mi:ss:ssss,but we are unable to insert/update to this precision.
We would appreciate if some one could throw some light on the above.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Mohan,
    Hm. Strange.
I have reproduced the problem in my environment.
I have also found, that building the block manually, seems to work, as long as you define the item with datatype Char in Form Builder. Inserts and updates using a value like "22-AUG-06 11:10:11,647354 AM" worked fine for the timestamp item.
You may want to enforce some dateformat. I don't know whether that will work.
    Good Luck!
    Remco
