Does SJSAS PE 9 really need 512MB of RAM to run?

Hello,
According to the link below, the server needs at least 512MB of RAM. I did not deploy any application other than the samples so I am not sure if 512MB is really needed.

    Does the iPhone 5 really need a case? ive been reading articles that says it doesn't, opinions please...

    In that case (no pun intended), you may not need one. I agree, it does look and feel better without the case.  I bought a clear case so it still shows off the design, but the problem is the case itself scratches easily.
    It's your call. But I would say, if you are not worried about dropping the phone (with AppleCare+, a replacement is only $49 as you may know), you do not absolutely need a case.

  • Does the Builder pattern really need a Director?

    A Builder knows how to construct the various parts of an aggregate, while a Director knows the order in which they should be constructed. Wikipedia illustrates this pattern with a PizzaBuilder example:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Builder_pattern
    I find it difficult to understand why one would not move the constructPizza() method (including its implementation) of Waiter (the Director) to PizzaBuilder (the abstract Builder), bypassing Waiter altogether:
    PizzaBuilder hawaiianPizzaBuilder = new HawaiianPizzaBuilder();
    hawaiianPizzaBuilder.constructPizza();
    Pizza pizza = hawaiianPizzaBuilder.getPizza();Why is it so important to separate the how from the order? To me it looks like having a separate Director class makes things just more complicated without having real benefits.

    Thank you for your reply. Are you suggesting that
    real-world applications have several Directors that
    differ in the order of construction? I just got
    myself the GoF book and it speaks about just one
    Director, which repeats the same construction
    process, independent of the concrete builder passed
    to it.If you look at the Consequences, list item 2 it states:
    "..then different Directors can reuse it to build Product variants from the same set of parts. In the earlier RTF example, we could define a reader for a format other than RTF, say, an SGMLReader, and use the same TextConverters..."
    Note that in the example the Reader is the Director and the TextConverter is the Builder.
    The point of this pattern is to separate the code that knows what to do and the code that knows how to do it so that they can be combined indpendently.
    Suppose you were writing a tool that could take XML or database rows and create a Swing GUI. Let's say you are also asked to take that XML and those database rows and create a web page.
    If you combine the code that reads the input with the code that reads the output, you end up writing the xml reader twice, the database reader twice, the swing builder twice, and the web page builder twice. Then consider what happens if you need a third input format or more output formats.
    I was thinking of using this pattern to create a
    custom JTree in subsequent steps: 1) create the nodes
    from a database, 2) create the tree model, 3) create
    the tree. Right now everything happens in my JTree
    constructor, which doesn't feel right since it's just
    a GUI component. Would that be appropriate? I only
    have one concrete builder now, so it seems a bit too
    much.I would remove any knowledge of the database from your gui component. This doesn't require more code and it won't make things more complicated. I think you'll find that once you have done it, it will make things a lot easier to understand and work on. The idea that every Object should have a single responsibility is poorly defined but is, in my opinion, a very good way to think about your designs.

  • Does firefox really need 1GB of RAM and half the CPU to run?

    Granted, I have two or three dozen tabs open, but still. This last time, it ended up being marked as "not responding" by Windows and the details included in the dialog are included below. I wish I didn't have to force quit and restart, so what I would like to have is a panel I could open to get a profile of the memory and CPU for each open tab, and maybe some way to flush parts of the heap.

  • Does iPhone 6 really need a screen protector?

    Does the iPhone 6 really need a screen protector if the phone is in a case?

    I put one on my iPad 2, largely cause it's an expensive toy and I want to keep it in good shape. I like knowing that if my niece plays 'mad birds' and gets grubby little fingerprints on it I am simply cleaning off a sheet of plastic, not the screen. I consider it an investment against the potential resell value whenever i replace it.
    Like the others have said, personal choice.
    I'd think if your device never leaves the living room table and is only used by adults in a controlled surrounding, then you probably have no need. But if you're carrying it around, using it anywhere, potentially sharing it with others then it may be a good idea.

    You need to connect to iTunes and restore.
    iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    You may need to put the device into recovery mode, this is covered in the link on this page.
    Did you back up the device?

    Hi olivias,
    It sounds like there may be some confusion on your system about what application should be associated with PDF files. You can reset filename associations by following the steps in these articles (depending on your operating system):

    Whem i'm doing the backup it automaticaly saves contacts.....because i've synced with another computer and it deleted all my contacts...and i really need them!!!!!

    If you haven't been using your phone as recommended, then you've lost all your contacts.  Contacts should be synched to your computer (Address Book, Outlook) or a cloud service (MobileMe, Google) for safekeeping.  The iPhone was never intended to be a storage device.
    If you haven't been using your phone as recommended and synching your contacts as above, frankly, you've no one to blame for your loss of data but yourself.
    On that topic, are you making regular backups of your computer's data as well?  Hard drives WILL fail.

    Does Macbook really needs adobe flash player download in order to watch video clips on the web?

    Hello Angel8C,
    Your MacBook Air running Yosemite will need an updated version of the Flash Player plugin to play web content that is in the Flash format (not all video content is Flash; there is also HTML5 video, amongst others). If you are being prompted to update your Flash Player plugin, you may find the following article helpful:

  • Seriously, does it really need to be a new version EVERYTIME I launch Firefox? Is it that buggy? It's super annoying.

    Seriously, does it really need to be a new version EVERYTIME I launch Firefox? Is it that buggy? It's super annoying.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == Asks me to update FIrefox.

    Some different bugs do get fixed with every update, but most of the time you see an update it's because a security exploit was found.
    And rather than wait a month or 2 months like Microsoft does, the Firefox team measures how bad the security exploit is and then based on that decides whether to release an immediate update or wait til the next scheduled release of Firefox, which is usually a month or more away.
    This way you're protected from whatever the security problem was. And they usually group a couple of security fixes together before giving the new update. So you just don't get 1 fix per version.
    So it's not like: Oops, found a security bug! Let's give everyone a new version now! Uh-oh found another one. Let's give a new version again right now!
    Yes, it is a bit annoying to be asked to update so often but you can turn off updates if it really bothers you that much.
    Although of course, there's like hundreds of Mozilla people that would advise against doing that. You know, security risks, and all that stuff. ;)

  • Does a CQC really need a separate thread/event queue per instance?

    Does a ContinousQueryCache really need a separate thread/event queue per instance?
    Is it possible to get multiple cqc's to share a single event queue?

    Test case to reproduce shown below, i.e. new thread per CQC.
    Sample code:
    =====================================
    NamedCache dummyCache = CacheFactory.getCache("A");
    dummyCache.put("hello", "B");
    dummyCache.put("world", "C");
    ContinuousQueryCache cqcA = new ContinuousQueryCache(dummyCache, new EqualsFilter("toString", "B"), new MultiplexingMapListener() {
    @Override
    protected void onMapEvent(MapEvent mapEvent) {
    System.out.println(Thread.currentThread().getName());

    @Override
    protected void onMapEvent(MapEvent mapEvent) {
    System.out.println(Thread.currentThread().getName());
    =================================
    Output:
    EventQueue:ContinuousQueryCache{Cache=A, Filter=EqualsFilter(.toString(), B)}
    EventQueue:ContinuousQueryCache{Cache=A, Filter=EqualsFilter(.toString(), C)}

    I have my landline diverting to my iPhone. However, it does not distinguish whether the call has come from my diverted landline number. My old Nokia many years ago used to show an arrow symbol when it was a call thats source was diverted. I really need to know when a call has come from my landline so I can greet the caller in the appropriate way and also so I can be sufficiently short as I am getting charged for the call from my BT landline to my mobile.

    That is not a feature that's available on the iPhone. Sorry.

  • Does one really need 3G if they already have a cell phone

    Does one really need an iPad with 3G if they allready have a cell phone.

    It depends on the situation. For some people, they may either not need the iPad to connect to the Internet when away from WIFi, or have an Internet-capable smartphone and can tether the iPad to the phone to use the data connection and don't mind carrying both. For others, that's either not possible or not practical, or they wish to have the GPS only available in the 3G iPad, not the WiFi-only iPad.
    If you're asking whether you need 3G in an iPad, we can't guess without having more information about your needs.
    Regards.

  • Does Aperture really need 25GB of thumbnails?

    I know what thumbnails are and I understand that aperture needs them in order for me to view the files in the browser.
    But for a 33K image library, does aperture really need 35GB of thumbnails? Surely each image only needs to be a few KB?
    Is there any way to reduce the thumbnail foot print? It would enable me to comfortably store the Library on the boot SSD.
    Regards

    Earlier versions of aperture3 had issues with generating thumbnails and ballooning size.
    Thumbnails in aperture are actually about 1024x1024 - My 30K refrenced library has about 9GB of thumbnails.
    Since you have an SSD you will love doing a referenced library setup on the ssd - the library FLIES on an SSD since there are so many small files to deal with - My recommendation would be to right click and inspect the contents of your Library, move the thumbnails out of the folder, copy the library (without the thumbnails) to your SSD, You can then put the old thumbnails folder back in your old library after the copy - open the library up on the SSD and let aperture rebuild the thumbnails from scratch on your SSD.
