Does the Document Id remain static?

I have an application that creates many versions to a versioned file as follows.
abcd.doc id, getId()=12345
-----version 1 abcd.doc, getId()=12346
-----version 2 abcd.doc, getId()=12347
-----version 3 abcd.doc, getId()=12348
-----version 4 abcd.doc, getId()=12349
To get the contents of the file, my application always calls getPublicObjectbyId(12345).
Lately, I've been finding that occasionally, the ID for the versioned file changes. So, I get an object not found when going after 12345. This happens very rarely (1% of the time).
Does the document ID for the parent file ever change? I was under the impression I could rely on that remaining constant for the life of the object.
Does ifs ever run out of numbers and start from the beginning?

never. object IDs in iFS are permanent. in fact they are based on a database sequence, which is monotonically increasing. the ID of your "parent" document will never change. if the document is deleted, the ID will never be reused. iFS will never "start over" back at the beginning, and iFS will never run out of IDs. never in a million years. actually longer. way longer. The ID sequence is a Java Long which is on the order of 2^63.
when you try to get a PublicObject by ID but get a "object not found" error, it's not because the ID changed. perhaps you don't have access, or perhaps the document was deleted. make sure to turn the IfsException to verbose mode and look at the whole exception stack.

These are the steps I follow. Import clip > Library > Behaviours > Motion > Stabilize. I then add the stabilize > go to inspector and change method to smooth and finally, analyze. However, it is not doing anything. My Macbook Pro was recently replaced and this is what I recall doing on my previous one, but it doesnt seem to be working for me. Is there a step im missing or something?

Smooth is just going to smooth out a little "jitter" or jerkiness in the footage. Unless there is a lot of camera movement, you won't notice much. If you really want to see Motion go to work, change the Method to Stabilize.
BTW, once the footage is analyzed, you can make any changes you want to any of the other parameters - you don't have to re-analyze. I recommend Stabilize with Adjust: Position Scale and Rotation and Borders set to Zoom (depending on the quality of the video) — or you might consider adding a mask to the group the stabilized video is in

thanks for the fast response. cs5 remembered the window position. I like having the window in the middle as I have a 27" monitor. I just upgraded to cs6 yesterday and I'm sure it was remembering the window document position. I think. If i find out how to fix this, I'll post it here.
And while I'm on the subject of cs6, why the f*** did adobe combine the stroke and swatches pallettes? Now I forever have to click stroke and swatch tabs all day. And I love the army and navy file icons of photoshop and illustrator. I won't comment on Acrobat X. ; (

I would like to strongly recommend that you update your version of Flash Player to our currently released version (17.0.0.169) and enable auto updates. The version you are using is insecure and opening your computer (and all of your data) to being easily exploited by bad guys.
As for the error you are receiving, this is most likely a restriction from the website. Each developer is able to specify what the required minimum version of Flash and require their users to have at least that version installed. The detection that is occuring and the message that you are seeing on the website isn't part of Flash Player, but instead part of the website's code.
If you go to this page and click the "Check Now" button, what is displayed (OS, browser and version number)? Do you see the "tree" animation playing below?

If I open the same document with two different apps on my iPhone does the document get saved twice?

For example, I chose to open a .pdf document I received as an attachment with Adobe Reader or iBooks, and now the document is available anytime I open Adobe Reader or iBooks. My question is if these applications are able to open the document anytime they want then the document must be available somewhere on the device, where do they get saved? And do they get saved twice if I opened the same document once with iBooks and once with Adobe Reader?

Where does the Document publisher used in Duet Entp. reporting reside.

Hi All,
I was reading on the architecture of Duet Enterprise reporting given in [this MSDN link|http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg385205.aspx]. I wanted to know where the Document publisher and where the reports queue reside (SAP Backend or SCL) as explained in the diagrams in the above link.
Appreciate any help in understanding this architecture.

How does the backend push the report to the Gateway, is there also a queue maintained in the backend system which processes the report requests asynchronously or the Gateway report publisher pulls them synchronously or is there any component necessary to be installed in the backend system for processing reports?
Is the document publisher feature a gateway feature or a Duet Enterprise specific feature?
Please suggest some material for further details if available.

In Trex where does the documents reside ?

We have Enterprise portal and use TREX for collaboration rooms and document indexing. EP is a java only Netweaver stack on AIX and TREX is on a window box. What I wanted to know is where do the actual documents, which TREX indexes reside?
Does Trex retain a copy of the indexed document? For a particular index where is the mapping of the actual document? Where can I look at all this data?

documents original location is transparent on KM, whether it is on a external repository or not doesn't matter,
for KM and TREX it is part of repository manager (configured at System Administration > System Configuration >
Knowledge Management > Content Managenement > Repository Managers).
Once a repository manager is activeted, there are several services running on top of it, eg.: subscription, rating,
etc. and other global services which affects every repository. Crawler service and Index Management are the
global services which will do indexing work
In fact TREX doesn't look for documents, the crawler is the component that retrieves the documents and
deliver for TREX. Have in mind that the crawler is part of KM, not TREX. It is active for every repository,
you can check on the monitor at System Administration > Monitoring

once documents are retrieved by the crawler and is at TREX hands, it will index normally, it uses
a file system based architecture, if you browse through TREX server you can find the indexes you have

there is designed for TREX work only, it doesn't serve as backup and can't be considered for any
other functioning.

Converting the document from old version(Fm7) to Fm 11, bullet doesnot appear in pdf output

Hi all,
I have converted Fm 7 files to Fm 11 files. Now when i open the files in the Fm project, bullets does not appear and instead of that question mark displays(?).
However, when i tried to open the older fm files in fm 11, font is not available window appeared. But font are being replaced by the existing font in all over document except the bullets. bullets are not appearing in the frame maker project as well as in the PDF generated.
There are different types of bullets being used in all over the document.
PFA sample of FM document file and PDF generated file in which red mark indicated the problem of bullets.
Please provide a proper solution for the same asap.

Is it a Unicode font?
Although there may be other reasons, the "?" is consistent with an attempt to use a Unicode character for which the present font does not have a glyph populated at that code point.

Does the new Macbook Pro 13 2011 work with the Intel SSD?

I've been trying to upgrade my macbook pro to an ssd (using stock original 5400 rpm 320 gb HDD) but so far I've been reading for like 2-3 hrs and came to a conclusion. Intel is the most reliable and most highly recommended. However, Intel SSD doesn't work with the new Macbook Pro 13" & 17" because of some cabling SATA III issues. Does the issue still remain or has it been fixed? If it hasn't been fixed, what is the current most highly recommended and reliable and best in terms of speed, reliability, and just...best SSD available that works best with the 2011 MBP? Can anyone help me out? Ive been reading that OCZ and others are faster than Intel but less reliable (higher failure rates) and MBP can't take advantage of faster 6/Gbps RAID III or something. help me!!! Should I just wait?

If you search the web, you will predominately read about problems, not good experiences.
I don't believe Intel is any less subject to issues, than the Sandforce SSD drives.
Buy from a reliable source with a good return policy and warranty.
OWC is well regarded.

CO-PA document is not created while doing the sale order cycle

Dear Experts,
I have 4 company codes in my controlling area. I did all CO-PA configuration. But CO-PA Document is generated in Only one company code. Remaining company codes CO-PA document is not created while doing the sale order cycle
Ive carried a standard sales cycle that contains sales order (VA01),
and (VF04,VF02). System should generate 4
documents as follows
1) FI Document
2) CO Document
3) Profit Center Accounting Document
4) COPA Document
But in my case for 3 company codes only 3 documents are generated instead of CO-PA. But for one company code 4 documents are generated.
In my case i did all settings Operation concern level and assign to controlling area. I can,t Understood why system is generating CO-PA document for Only one company
Please suggest me where i miss the settings..

Cost element category is 01. Because hear is one another company they have FI only all transactions they maintain through FI only. so hear we maintain Cost elements category 01.
I think it is not a problem. because hear i got CO-PA document from one company. Remaining 3 company is not generated.
Hear we maintained all gl's chart of acc level and cost elements also.

Actually, it only looks like it takes up additional space. The file size shown is misleading. When you migrate an iPhoto library to Photos, both libraries will show the media files using hard links. The actual file content of the image files and videos is shared by hard links:

You will gain no free storage at all by deleting either the iPhoto Library or the Photos library. So keep both libraries until you are very sure, that Photos is working well on your Mac and your iPhoto library has been migrated correctly. Also, check, if you like the workflow in Photos. There will be no easy way back to iPhoto, if you delete your iPhoto library or the iPhoto application. Apple does not sell it any more.

Not all screens rotate. For example, the home screen does not rotate.
Also, having the portrait lock turned on will prevent all screens from rotating.
This is covered in the User's Guide.
There is no International warranty on the iPhone, never has been.
Warranty and support are limited to the country of origin.

Page navigation in Acrobat does not match page numbers in the document

I have a document in both Framemaker format (server.book) and PDF (server.pdf). When I view the pdf file in Adobe Acrobat, the page numbers appear correctly on the document itself, but up in the Page Navigation window within Acrobat the pages number doesn't match.
In the beginning of the book I have Title page, a Table of Contents, and a Preface that all use lower-case roman numerals. However, when viewing this document via Acrobat, the Title pages show up as i, and ii, but then the Table of Contents and Preface show up as pages 1 - 8 instead of iii - x in the page navigation window.
I can't figure where this discrepancy is originating.
Please help.

Acrobat has no way to know which bit of character string on each page is the page number.
The visible page number has never formed any part of Reader nav. as you point out, it couldn't.
Acrobat knows the Numbering Properties of the pages as created in Frame. It just doesn't display or honor them consistently, depending on Reader version.
I also use i, ii, iii, iv for pre-narrative material. The romans are displayed in the page number box of Acroread (this is AR7 on Unix). I can enter "ii" in the box, and go to that page. But the Print dialog is Ordinal only. Printing page ranges in AR7 is always off by 2 or 4 relative to the actual page numbers.
Acrobat Pro 9 (9.4.5, Win7-64) seems to be more consistent, and does show and accept real page numbers for Print.
