Doubt for Scrap Costing

Dear Friends,
I Need help regarding Scrap costing - My views as follows,
Operations would maintain Scrap % for components at MAterial Master level  MRP view, as well as in the Bill of materials. However, when you create Std Cost Estiamte, system will consider the scrap quantity and include that in the material costs.
The system works like this while creating Cost Estimates when Scrap % are maintained
1.First System looks for Assembly Scrap for Component items in BOM . If available, that is added to the Raw Material quantity as per BOM when doing costing.
2.If Assembly Scrap and Component Scarp % maintained in Component items in BOM, system first applied Assembly scrap and then adds Component Scrap over that.  For example if a Raw Material quantity is 200  in BOM, system first assembly scrap, say 10% which is 20  nos and Component scrap is say 5%, it adds  11 (5% of  220) and hence total RM costed is 231 nos
3,If no Assembly Scrap maintained in BOM but  Component Scrap maintained, system will apply the Component Scrap qty over the   Item qty in BOM while costing
4.If Component Scrap in BOM is maintained, as well as  Scrap % maintained in MRP 4 view of material master, system will take only the  Scrap % maintained in BOM and ignore the %maintained in Material Master
5.If  no Component Scrap maintained in BOM, and Scrap % maintained in Material Master, system will consider the scrap % maintained in Material Master for Costing
Is there any way (through user exit or otherwise thro configuration) such scrap % can be ignored while creating cost estimate.
Regards,
KBR.

No, you cant
Remove the Scrap % from Material Master and restore it after Cost Run
Create a Costing BOM w/o adding any scrap % in it

  • Report painter/writer for actual cost component split

    Hello Gurus,
Any of you guys ever explored possibility of creating a report using report painter or writer that can give both Standard and Actual cost component splits in one report? Is it even possible without custom ABAP involvement?
    Thanks
    RG

    Hi Raghu,
After your reply, I am getting a doubt..
Have you Activated Material Ledger? When you say Actual Cost Component Split, are you talking about it what you get in Actual Costing/Material Ledger?
If yes, then you can map your cost compnents for Actual Costing in the path SPROControllingProfitability AnalysisMaster Data Valuation--Setup Valuation using Material Cost Estimate -- Define Access to Actual Costing / Material Ledger
Further, there are no standard reports available in COPA. Try to build a report comprising two columns, 1st column with the value fields which are mapped for Standard Cost Components and 2nd column with the Value Fields which you have assined for Actual Costing under the above path.
You will be able to get the comparison...

  • Scrap cost generated is more than the raw material cost

Dear Gurus. Please help me in this scenario
The conversion cost of the material is lesser than the scrap cost when the material is sent to vendor for any grinding operation, in such cases we need to recover money from vendor.
Eg:  Conversion cost is Rs 100 , Scrap generated value is Rs 800. Hence Rs 700 needs to be recovered from vendor.
How to put this in Info record? and how to handle this situation in PO and further process?

    Hi,
Please create new material code for the scrap mateirial.
Now your sending material code is 1000 and receving material code is 2000. While creating subcontracting po manually add scrape material code negative qty.
So when you take GR for the material 2000, material 1000 go to consumption and scrap material posted to stock. Then created returnn purcahse order for scrap material to the vendor.
    I hope it will work.

  • Scrap costs in Standard Costs without adding scrap factor in BOM

Running one part number, multiple operations in factory.
Need to account for Standard Cost including Scrap, but do not want to inflate BOM using a scrap factor.  How can we maintain accurate backflush of matls and capture scrap costs for use in Stds?

If you do not want to consider the scrap qty. in operations but want to consider it only for costing purpose, then create a costing BOM i.e. usage 6. In this BOM you can maintain the scrap. Also ensure the costing variant which you're using has a priority of costing bom over say production bom or universal bom.
Discuss this with your costing person as well.

  • Scrap cost in porduction order

    Hi All,
We want to set up a scenario in order to capture scrap cost seperately in production order.
Currently when we declare scrap of finished product while confirmation, then this scrap is reflected on material account in prodction order cost analysis. We want to capture this scrap cost seperately in a different segment (under seperate cost element) in production order cost analysis view.
    plesae suggest the possibilities.

  • Scrap costs in production

    Hello,
Is there any possibility to post scrap costs during production against the standard costs until the scrap occured without using a special material for making the scrap posting?
    For example:
    Standard cost production: 1000
    No of operations: 4
    St cost Op 1: 300
    St cost Op 2: 100
    St cost Op 3: 400
    St cost Op 4: 200
Suppose that scrap occurs at Op 2. In the confirmation we confirm the scrap and want to have the costs posted in FI and CO at 400 per piece.
Which settings do we have to maintain in order to make this possible (without creating new materials).
Thank you for the information in advance

    Johan

  • Business Process for Scrap management

    Dear,
I would like to know standard business practice for scrap management.
    Regards,
    Swapnil Vaidya

General Stock Scrapping: Goods Issue to Cost Center
Materials are consumed to the cost center as part of the production or for MRO. Therefore the goods movement financial posting is done via the cost center.
    Procedure
    1.     Access the transaction choosing one of the following navigation options:
Option 1: SAP Graphical User Interface (SAP GUI)
SAP ECC menu     Logistics  Materials Management  Inventory Management   Goods Movement   Goods Movement (MIGO)
    Transaction code     MIGO
Option 2: SAP NetWeaver Business Client (SAP NWBC) via business role
    Business role      Warehouse Clerk (SAP_BPR_WAREHOUSESPECIALIST-S)
Business role menu     Warehouse Management  Receiving
    2.     On the initial screen, ensure that in the top left corner of the screen, the first field shows Goods Issue and the second field shows Other.
    3.     In the field GI for cost center (in the top right corner), enter movement type 551.
    4.     Choose Enter.
    5.     On the Material tab page, enter any material number H11.
    6.     Choose the Items OK checkbox.
    7.     On the Quantity tab page, enter an amount, for example 100.
    8.     On the Where tab page, enter plant Plant 1 (1000), and storage location Returns (1060).
    9.     Choose Enter.
    10.     On the Account Assignment tab page, enter a cost center. (Choose purchase and stores, for example, 1201).
    11.     Optional: If the material is handled in batches, for example Trading Good,Reorder Point,Batch-FIFO: Enter the external batch number on the Batch tab page. If you do not have a external batch number from your vendor you have to maintain an internal batch number. In this case leave the field external batch number empty and the system creates an internal batch number.
    12.     Optional: If the material is serialized, for example Trading Good,Reorder Point,SerialNo: Enter the serial number on the Serial Numbers tab page. If the serial number is unknown, search for one by choosing Find.
    13.     Choose Post.
To reverse the posting repeat the steps with reversal movement type 552. Alternatively cancel the material document with transaction MBST.
    14.     Optional: Display material document and FI/CO postings.
Ensure that in the top left corner of the screen, the first field shows Display and the second field shows Material Document. The third field shows the material document number from the last posting, if not, enter the material document number. Choose Enter.
Choose the Doc.Info. tab page. Choose FI Documents. If the List of Documents in Accounting dialog box appears, choose the document type. Check accounting postings.
    Result
The goods are removed from stock with quantity and value. The goods value is posted to account and cost center.

  • Accounting for scrap in production

    Hi all,
My client produces plastic bags. In the BoM's they have factored in the average quantity of scrap to include in the BoM but have only put in the actual costs (not including the scrap costs). When receipting against a production order at the end of each day, they want to capture good finished goods and also the scrap quantity for the day. The scrap needs to go to the scrap warehouse a zero value so as to leave the production costs in the finished goods warehouse. How would I handle capturing the scrap at zero value into the different warehouse?
    Thanks in advance,
    Gareth

    HI,
You can maintain Product Cost Collector in mass maintanance in following transaction :
KKF6M Create Multiple Product Cost Collectors for Production Versions
Enter Plant, No of materials you want to create Product cost collectors enter in multiple selection , enter order type as RM01 which is default for REM and then execute so system will create Product Cost Collectors for all production versions.
Follow above procedure & revert in case any doubt.

  • Report for delivery costs

    Hi,
    1.
I need to have a report for the paid delivey costs(planned and unplanned) for the given pos.
    2.
Is there any std transaction which can give the list of fast moving items based on movement types?
Please help me, it is very urgent.
    Your help is appreciated.
    Regards,
    Subbu.

    Hi,
For Delivery Cost look in Table EKBZ ,EKBZH.For Fast moving item use the T Code MCBE (also MCBA,MCBC)in which you can find the fields like number of valuated stock receipts and issue and also number of movements .Selecting a given period range if the number of movemnets is sorted in descending order the maximum moved material can be found.

  • Analysis report for standard cost in CK33N

    Hi,
    Analysis report for standard cost
    Using variant Z003 in CK11N.
Planned cost 3 is the output used for planning and this is adjusted by making changes to the BOM throughout the process
In CK33 you compare the 2011 cost for the product with the proposed cost for the next year.  For some parts it works and for others it splits the lines,  though the calculation is still correct.

    Hi Revital,
I believe the last option is correct.
