Download APEX 2.1.0.0.39

Hi,
Where can I download APEX 2.1? I can only seem to be able to download it for 2.0 and 2.2.
Thanks,
Martin

There is an XE forum that you can use after you register: Oracle Database Express Edition (XE)

    The link I tried: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/download.html

  • Download Apex 3.2

    Hello,
I want to test the migration from Oracle Forms to Apex, so I need Apex 3.2 (or higher), but I don't know where I can download a preview of Apex 3.2. Via forums I can see that some people use it already.
    Please help me.
    Regards,
    Helmut

    Hello Helmut,
APEX 3.2 is not available yet. Just a restricted number of people were invited to test the beta release(s), hosted on an oracle site.
I expect a public release within two months or so (or soon as Oracle says...).

  • Null Validation in Tabular Form in APEX 4.2.2

Hi to all respected Gurus of this Forum!
Recently downloaded APEX 4.2.2. As we know that this version has some improved features and one is the best is i.e. *"Validation on Tabular Form".*
For test purpose I succeeded to apply validation on field of tabular form and I am not allowed to "SUBMIT" data as per Validation Rule.
But now, I want to customize that validation as per below logic.
If required field is null than a message-box should appear with two buttons , as under:
Blank field not allowed. Do you really want to submit? (Buttons should be = YES NO)
If user press "YES" then validation should be false and record should be saved
    AND
If user press "NO" then no data should be submitted/inserted as per validation logic.
Please help. Your as usual cooperation is highly appreciated in advance.

    Hello Sabine,
    >> I read about enhanced validation in 4.1 and would love to get rid of g_f-programming.
The major “trick” is to associate the validation/process with a Tabular Form. On the first screen of both wizards, the first field is Tabular Form. You must select the tabular form on your page (currently there can be only one. In future versions this will change).
Another factor that might influence the behavior of Tabular Form validation/process is the new attribute of Execution Scope. Unfortunately, you must enter Edit mode to gain access to this attribute (i.e., it can’t be set directly from the Tabular Form create wizard). Set it according to your need.
The rest is very simple. You should treat your Tabular Form as a simple form, where every column header stands for a form item. The following is a very simple example of validating the SAL column:
    if :SAL < 1500 then
      return 'Sal Value is under 1500';
    else
      return null;
end if;In this validation I’m using the Function Returning Error Text type.
    Regards,
    Arie.

  • Apex 4.0 Paper Layout Reports

    Hi All,
I'm exploring Oracle Apex for the first time. I have just downloaded Apex 4.0 and would like to see if I can create a paper layout report. For example I would like to produce a Profit & Loss statement as well as a Balance Sheet from my existing database tables.
I have done something similar in Oracle Reports 6i some years ago.
In Apex I have managed to create an interactive report as well as a SQL report. However, these don't look anything like a plain A4 report. I'm guessing this is possible with Apex ?
Do I need to change the default theme for the page I have created ?
Any hints will be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Billy

    Hi Tony,
    Thanks for the prompt reply.
I have had a quick look on the net about your proposed solution to use cocoon. Although, it seems as though this may work it appears to be quite a tedious way to go from a user point of view.
As for BI Publisher, it's quite expensice the last time I looked.
I would have thought Oracle Apex could do something so basic out of the box. Maybe not !
    Thanks

  • Installation problems on Fresh 11.1.0.6 database and Apex 3.1.1

I hope someone can help - at wit's end trying to get Apex up and running. I've looked through the forum over and over and don't see a resolution.
I have installed 11g Enterprise Edition on a Solaris 5.10 64bit Sparc system, created a database, setup and configured dbconsole for enterprise manager.
Database is up, enterprise manager is up and I can connect and browse just fine, but when I went to set up and configure Apex (it was version 3.0 that came with the database) I could only get a blank page trying to go to either the apex or apex_admin pages.
So re-read documentation and couldn't see what I did wrong. So I started a new Apex install, dropping the FLOWS_030000 and FLOWS_FILES users, downloaded apex 311, and did a fresh install.
For the record, I'm trying to use the Embedded PL/SQL Gateway instead of the Oracle HTTP Server.
    Here are my steps:
Downloaded apex_3.1.1.zip, loaded it up on server, and unzipped the file

Still, when I go to my browser and enter the following url:

all I get is a blank page.
    http://dbsu01a.sit.us.wamu.net:7459/apex
returns a "page not found" error.
It must be one of those "is your computer plugged in?" things - any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Here was the fix:
My local_listener parameter in the init.ora (spfile) was not set. I ran the following as sys:
    alter system set local_listener='(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=<hostname>)(PORT=<port>))' scope=both;
Bounced the listener and the database and after about 3 minutes listener status showed the following new endpoint:
    Listening Endpoints Summary...
    (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=<host>)(PORT=9969)))
(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=<host>)(PORT=7459))(Presentation=HTTP)(Session=RAW)) <-- this is the XDB entry.
After that I was able to log into APEX!

  • APEX 3.1.2 Installation Problem

I am using Oracle 11G with inbuilt APEX 3.0. Recently i downloaded APEX 3.1.2 & try to install but whenever i execute the apexins.sql with parameter SYSAUX SYSAUX TEMP /i/script from sqlplus with sys user name after show the starting installation message & then automatically close the whole sqlplus window.
Please help to install APEX 3.1.2

Look at the log file that the installation script generates to see where your upgrade is failing. You should have a log file for each time you ran the apexins.sql script and it failed. Drop the user FLOWS_030100 (DROP user flows_030100 cascade;) before trying to re-run the apexins.sql script. The installation guide explains this.
    Hope this helps,

  • Apex 4.2 developer page not showing up after installing over 10g

    Hi there,
So as luck would have it my Win XP OS crashed. Yes, its the office laptop and I cannot upgrade the OS for now. Anyhow, I got the whole machine re-imaged and installed 10g which had version 2.1 and everything was okay. I was earlier running apex 4.1.1. I could not find that setup on the oracle site so I downloaded apex 4.2 and ran the installation as per page
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/application-express/upgrade-apex-for-xe-154969.html
Everything went through properly except for step
    5. Log back into SQL*Plus (as above) and load images:
    SQL> @apxldimg.sql APEX_HOME
[Note: APEX_HOME is the directory you specified when unzipping the file. For example, with Windows 'C:\'.]
where it asked me to enter the directory and I entered C:\
    This is what happened
    SQL> @apxldimg.sql
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    Enter value for 1: C:\
    old 1: create directory APEX_IMAGES as '&1/apex/images'
    new 1: create directory APEX_IMAGES as 'C:\/apex/images'
    Directory created.
    ^C
    C:\apex>
I see a backslash and forward slash so I did a ctrl c . When I tried running the command again - @apxldimg.sql
it just would open the .sql file.
Not sure if this is the issue, but anyhow, after this, when I tried the "go to database page. It just shows a blank page. Any idea what needs to be done. I was happy with 4.1.1. Is that available anywhere? Maybe I can remove XE and do a fresh install with that.
    Please advise.
    thanks,
    Ryan

    Jeff,
I had a question on that. I am installing the software on my local machine. I have my apex files under C:\apex
Now when it asks for images directory, what should I enter,
    C:
    C:\
    C:\apex
Reason being that as per the upgrade instructions it was given as 'C:\'
when I gave C:\ the new path showed up as C:\/apex/images.
also, do we need to give the directory in single quotes?
    thanks,
    Ryan

  • APEX 4.2.1: owa directory is empty

    APEX: 4.2.1
    RDBMS: 10.2.0.4
Oracle Application Express requires the PL/SQL Web Toolkit version 10.1.2.0.6.
    We have 10.1.2.0.5.
For instructions on installing version 10.1.2.0.6, we've reviewed the README.txt file
    contained in the directory apex/owa.
That file is the only one into the direcotry apex/owa.
So we unable to install the required PL/SQL Web Toolkit version.
    Where are the installation scripts?

    The workaround is the following:
    - download APEX 4.1.1
the required files are into the directory ./apex/owa.

  • Getting started with Apex

    hi ..
I tried to download Apex twice and it downloads a zip(apex_3.2.zip) file everytime that looks like contains documentation... I was expecting some kind of GUI installation (install.exe or setup.exe).
As what I need is ..client-db application..I want to enter some data thru client(web or forms) and save in DB... and then later have reports also generated...
I need it real fast with not much frills... Please guide...

    Hamir,
There are two download links at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/download.html. One is for the executables and the other is the docs. You're probably downloading the wrong one.
If you have Oracle XE installed, you already have Apex installed. If not then unzip the correct download, open the installation instructions and follow the yellow brick road to get it installed.
After that you can download a 2 Day + Developer's Guide from http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/doc.html and do a quick read in those sections that you need to read to create a form. It's pretty easy.
Also you should request a developer workspace on the Oracle Apex site so you can develop and test there and make it easier for the forum to help you.
    Keep Smiling,
    Bob R

  • APEX newbie - upgrade to 3.2.1 issue

Dear friends at the APEX forum:
I'm glad to have decided for Oracle APEX as my new development environment and expect you guys and girls may help me solving some troubles I'm having while starting my journey with this tool.
I have just tried to upgrade my APEX from the original version that comes with Oracle 10g XE to version 3.2.1.
My machine is running Windows 7 and I used the (for Linux) upgrade tutorial in http://www.easyapex.com/index.php?p=101.
Well, I know my fault was in using a "for Linux" upgrade tutorial. Anyway, here it goes (pls, see if you can help)...
    The issue:
The upgrade aparently went OK and in theory it should work, I believe, but actualy when I call my Aplication Express Login page (http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/f?p=4550:1:4405712711792727) it is loaded with errors and the APEX Logo image (http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/4htmldb/apex_logo.gif) is not loaded.
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
first_field('F4550_P1_COMPANY'); //<------ the error comes up here: Line: 82 Character: 5 Error: Object expected
    //-->
    <
So let me tell what I did differently from the tutorial:
    1. I had to upgrade my PL/SQL Web Toolkit to version 10.1.2.0.6:
So I used what is described in PL/SQL Web Toolkit to Apex
It went pretty well. No errors or warnings.
    1) Stop all applications using the database
    2) Navigate to the directory apex/owa
    3) Connect via SQL*Plus as the database user SYS
    4) Run the PL/SQL Web Toolkit installation script by issuing: @owainst.sql
    5) Review the output displayed from owainst.sql and ensure no errors were encountered.
    6) Confirm the PL/SQL Web Toolkit version is 10.1.2.0.6 or greater by connecting to the database
as the SYS user and running the query:
    select owa_util.get_version from dual;
    7) Run the utlrp.sql script from the Oracle Database home to recompile all invalid PL/SQL
packages now instead of when the packages are accessed for the first time. This step is
optional but recommended. To run utlrp.sql, issue: @?/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql
    2. I used blank (default value) for the images directory when running apexins.sql:
         @apexins.sql sysaux sysaux temp
         -- instead of --
         @apexins.sql users users temp /i/
    3. Then the script started and quickly asked something weird:
         F
         2
         Inform the value for 4:
Well, just in case I informed 4. The script went straight to the end "without" errors.
    4. Without errors but has a log file. Should it be that way?
I can send the log file under request as here at the forum I see no attachment option.
    5. Copied new images
         from (downloaded APEX location)
         C:\Users\PepeFifiNeca\Downloads\APEX 3.2.1\apex_3.2.1\apex\images
to (supposed Web Server images folder)
         C:\app\PepeNeca\product\11.1.0\db_1\apex\images
This was after some bad time trying to find out what kind of Web Server my APEX is using. So, that folder is a guess too. By the way, how do I find out if it is Oracle HTTP Server or PL/SQL Gateway?
What now? Restore the backup? Start from scratch with a new Oracle XE?
Thanks a lot for any tip, specially if I don't need to start from the beginning or restore backup.
    All the best,
    Pedro.

    Hello Pedro,
    Welcome to Oracle APEX...
Problems are always there and should not you down..At least someone said it once to me...
I have couple of few links which you would find the useful
    [APEX Installation|http://www.liberidu.com/blog/?p=122]
that blog will answer why you need:

try the Oracle Application Express trouble shooting section and will answer your question...
i feel you are on the right road and there is no reason to worry...
how do I find out if it is Oracle HTTP Server or PL/SQL Gateway?
    SELECT dbms_xdb.getHttpPort FROM DUAL
SELECT dbms_xdb.getFtpPort FROM DUALwill tell you answer if vlaue is not 0 if it is some number like 8080 / 7272 then they are set...
What now? Restore the backup? Start from scratch with a new Oracle XE?Reinstallation.. i feel no need but just load the images...
No idea what is PL/SQL Web Toolkit.. Shed a light :-)
