Download Backup Assistant Contacts

<< Post moved to a new discussion for better exposure >>
Thank you!
My phone directory is current in BU assistant.  I want to down load the
directory to this PC as a record of my contacts.

While in your contact list on BUA on verizonwireless.com, click the box Select All to select all your contacts.  The wording will change to Select None... but as long as there is a check next to all the contacts, click the arrow next to the gear icon.
One of the choices is to EXPORT  - it will send a list of the contacts to your pc as a downloadable file ... options as per the next image:
Good luck!

  • Can I download Backup Assistant from my computer to my phone?

My LG 8360 has lost its mind.  I am unable to download any app due to the phone automatically scrolling through contacts, calling people by itself, going through menues and beeping constantly.  I can't physically make a call manually.  I have followed instructions sent to me by Verizon to fix the problem, but it doesn't work.  I cannot download Backup Assistant from my phone due to these problems.  I cannot make calls.  I cannot receive calls.
Is there any way I can send the app to my phone through Verizon's website?
    Thanks.
    Linda

You can send the back up assistant application to your device; however, you will need to go through your device to purchase it. For more information check here - -> http://tinyurl.com/3yxrxj4

  • Contacts with Multiple Backup Assistant + Contacts Entries

I have read others with these same issues.  Unfortunately, the responses they are getting have to do with having multiple contacts and joining those contacts.  That is not the issue.  The issue is that each contact has MULTIPLE Backup Assistant + Contact entries.  Meaning, when you you start typing a name to send a text message to, it shows you multiple phone numbers for that person (only, they are all the same phone number).  For example, if I start typing Zoe, it will show you contacts that match, it will have Zoe 555-555-5555 listed 6, 7, 8, or more times.  But wait, that is the home number, how you keep scrolling them until you get to the mobile number which is also listed 6, 7, 8 or more times.  When you go into you contacts and select Zoe, and then go to Edit, you see why - There are 6, 7, 8 or more Backup Assistant + Contacts entries!!!  These duplicates are what we are wanting to know how to remove.  My daughter has only one phone number, but when I click on the her picture in the favorite contacts widget, it shows 2 and they are both the same.  Even the BAL #225 shows up EIGHT times!!!!!   When you go online (to the Backup Assistant), they are all listed there too.  HELP!!!!!!!

I have no prblem syncing multiple mobile numbers so I don't think it's a universal issue with iOS. The only difference I see is I am using CardDav instead of using the Exchange option. Have you tried it that way? You can urn off contacts in the Exchange account and add the CardDav account separately.

  • Access Backup Assistant contacts.  The website is a loop......it behaves as if I'm not logged in.  I have checked and DO have the services (provided for free with my plan).  Phone is set up properly and just synched it to cloud.  Cannot get to the verizon

Log in to my Verizon account.  Try to access Backup Assistant contacts.  The website is a loop......it behaves as if I'm not logged in.  I have checked and DO have the services (provided for free with my plan).  Phone is set up properly and just synched it to cloud.  Cannot get to the verizon web page to Manage Contacts.

It may be a situation where we all wait for things to clear up.  The Verizon Cloud has been having issues for a very long time.  Have you tried backing up contacts to your Gmail account, if you have one?

  • Backup Assistant Contacts Not Appearing Online

Hello, I've searched for similar problems with no luck. I've installed backup assistant in my old LG VX8575 to get the contacts off so I can download them to my new phone. Backup Assistant on the phone says it's backed up 292 contacts and that I can see and edit them online. But online when I access my account at verizonwireless.com/backupassistant, which becomes wbillpay.verizonwireless.com/vzw/nos/ba_nab/overview_def.jsp, the apparently new portal for backup assistant plus, my contacts list is empty. The phone numbers are identical. What can I do now to get the contacts to show up online so I can activate my new phone and download them? Thanks!

Hmm, now they ARE there, over half an hour later. Wonder if they ought to say wait a while and then they'll show in the instructions... Thanks anyway, all!

  • Backup assistant contacts groups

When I try to use backup assistant online to add contacts to groups, it maxes out at 10 and says I have to delete one to make room for another...  yet if I add the contact on the phone and sync back, it shows 11 people in the group.
Is there an issue with backup assistant?  Am I doing something wrong. Certainly there can't REALLY be a 10 person group limit??

        SnowRider27,
I know how important it is to be able to sync your contacts to the app and I'm happy to help. The website may have a limit to the amount of groups, depending on several factors. Please clear your cookies, cache and history, then try again on internet explorer. I will need more information about your phone to see if there's a limit. What make and model phone do you have? Do you have backup Assistant or Backup Assistant plus?

  • Backup assistant contacts not showing up online

    Hello,
I am using backup assistant for the first time so that I can import my contacts to my new 4G device. I've run the application from my blackberry, but when I sign on on-line, the website is showing my contact list as empty. However, my backup assistant PIN is being correctly captured, so I know that I am being recognized.
I've tried deleting and re-installing backup assistant on the blackberry and running again. No luck. Any suggestions? Is there some sort of lag time for when the contacts will show up online?
Just in case the question comes up, I am the only user on my wireless plan.
    Thanks,
    Ty

    Hi tc4213,
New 4G phone is always a great thing. Not being able to backup your contacts must be frustrating; however, I'm sure we can find a way to backup and transfer your contacts to your new device.
First we must make sure that your Blackberry device is compatible with Backup Assistant. The following BlackBerry devices are not compatible with Backup Assistant:
    BlackBerry 7130e
    BlackBerry 7250
    BlackBerry 7750
    BlackBerry 8130 Pearl™
    BlackBerry 8130 Pearl™ in Pink
    BlackBerry 8230 Pearl™ Flip
    BlackBerry 8703e
    BlackBerry 8830
If your device is not one of the ones listed above, please make sure that your are following the instructions listed in the link below:
    http://support.verizonwireless.com/how_to_use/transfer_contacts/blackberry.html
Additionally, with a 4G device you will most like create (if you don't already have one) a Gmail account. If you have not created one I recommend to create a Gmail account at http://goo.gl/2Ucuc and then sync your Blackberry with your Gmail account using the Google Sync App and your contacts will be saved online. You can get the Google Sync App at http://www.google.com/mobile/sync/
Then simply activate your 4G device and enter your Gmail account credentials and your contacts will transfer automatically to your new phone.

  • Status of Backup Assistant for Contact Information

Can some one tell me (preferably a Verizon technical resource) the status of Backup Assistant for Contact Information?
I upgraded to a new phone a few weeks ago, and when searching MyVerizon saw the availability of the "free" contact backup capability...     It is not really free for me, because I don't have a data/text plan, so I had to pay for the app download and sync text transfer.    I figured it would be worth a few dollars to have the backup capability and ability to enter data from a keyboard instead of the numeric pad (I have a flip phone without a qwerty keyboard).     The sync import of my phone's contact list worked fine, and I spent quite a bit of time updating addresses online...   However, the changes online were not exported back to my phone, so my  work added no value me.
I attempted to wait a few days to see if a regular update would resolve the problem...   Tried making a few updates today--the web application seemed buggier than a few weeks ago...  If I tried to input more that a one field, it refused to save the contact.   I could update by doing small updates and saving, but this was painful...   Tried several times to update the ICE contacts--they would appear to be OK, but after a save the changes were lost...
Tried reading documentation to see if there was an explanation of how to download changes made online to phone...     Could find nothing other than instructions to download to a "new" phone...
Came to the forum to see if there was a message here that would help me...   I was very disappointed to see that the Backup Assistant has apparently been "broken" for several weeks with no apparent resolution timeframe available.
As an IT guy, I was appalled that Verizon does not have anything on the web site that warns users that there is a problem with the site and gives an approximate resolution time for the problem.    This is always a priority for my group--make the users aware of the problem and give them status on resolution progress.  Verizon's lack of information has let me waste time and money trying to work with an application that is known to be broken.
    Key questions for me:
    1)  Can the cost of downloading backup assistant and the syncing be refunded to me?   (The service to date has only provides me with a frustrating online update experience with no benefit to me on my phone.)
    2)  When will the site be functioning with normal capability?
    3)  What is normal function?   Are the problems that I have had with updates due to the problem discussed in other posts or are they standard features of buggy code?
    4)  If the application were working normally, how would one do updates online and have those updates exported back to the phone?

    4)  If the application were working normally, how would one do updates online and have those updates exported back to the phone?  Normally, it would be automatically synced to your phone when you log out of the online service, and then a daily backup from your phone to the website would occur on the schedule you set.
I am not a Verizon employee, I am simply a customer, satisfied for the most part with my service, and I like to help others.  This recent BA mess is not fun....and I hope it gets resolved very soon.

  • Backup assistant lost contacts?

I had an old LG enV phone that I had set for automatic backup.  The phone was destroyed (no longer turns on) so I temporarily used an old Motorola until my new Pantech arrived.
I was not able to download backup assistant into the old Razr.
When I received the new Pantech, when I started it up it asked if I would like to use backup assistant.....it now appears all my old contacts were wiped out during the change to the new service.
Customer service basically told me I am screwed......
Is there any way to retrieve the contacts that were in the old backup assistant (before the cloud).  I cannot believe these weren't backed up SOMEWHERE...

tnysclce, I have my magnifying glass ready! Let's look for these contacts. Did you try to access your contacts online at our Backup Assistant website yet? You will need to sign into our website, using your mobile number and password. For deailed steps on how to do this, please click http://vz.to/WNJMeV Keep us posted.

  • Importing contacts into Backup Assistant

VZW told me the only way to import contacts from an old phone is via the Backup Assistant. (I was with another carrier).  I have my contacts on my PC in vcf or csv form.  I can adapt the csv file to suit any specific format that VSW would have.  Not too difficult with a spreadsheet.
I havent found any way to import multiple contacts in a single file, except manually one by one in .vcf format.
When I try to import just two contacts in vcf, they come out mixed up in BA.
I also tried to use the specific VZW BA csv format by exporting as a csv file one of the contacts I imported individually: I opened the exported csv file, which had one contact, duplicated that contact with a small difference in the last name, and tried to import it again.  I got the usual warning:
We need complete information to save each imported contact as a new Backup Assistant contact. Please complete all the required fields First Name, Last Name or Company Name, Phone Number or Email Address for the following rows: 2 & 3. All your other contacts will be imported.
Please anybody, let me know if there is a way to import a number of contacts, even if there is a limitation on the number I can do in one import operation.  That will always be better than importing hundreds of contacts one by one.

I think that was the error - exporting only ONE - try to export your current contact list.  Look at the structure of the csv that gets exported, especially the field delimiters (probably commas) and record separators - this could be line breaks, carriage returns, periods - and this is critical to BA beign able to distinguish one contact record from another.
Once you know the structure and how it separates each record (contact), then you can add the data from your other import list, making sure it follows the same rules; if it uses something else to separate the records, then you'll need to do a search an dreplace for those characters so the structure matches.
Also, the number of fields needs to be the same for each record; if the field is blank then something needs to be put in, like a space, so the right information gets put in the right fields.
Hope this all makes sense....post back with any further questions.

  • How to get contacts from personal backup assistant to business cell...

I just received a business cell and I can access the backup assistant for that phone and sync it.  I can do the same for my personal phone.  How do I get my personal backup assistant contacts to my business phone?
    Thank you very much.

I would export the contacts from Back-up Assistant as a CSV file and then import them to the other account.  I don't think there's any way to link them or otherwise get them to communicate directly.

  • Backup Assistant Online Access

I installed Backup Assistant on my wife's phone. The app says that her numbers were backed up. I want to use the online assistant and link this to her Gmail account. After logging into my Verizon account, I select her phone and click on Backup Assistant. That gets me to a screen with directions on installing the app on the phone. When I select "Continue," I get ...

Then click REGISTER, and create an account for your WIFE's phone number, with a different username and password.  Once that is done, and you are logged in with HER number, her contacts will be there.

  • Backup Assistant  issue

    Yes,Yes,Yes
Please see my posts under the user name T2G3
I have been given many different answers by Verizon online support, verbally by customer service, and by my local store... none of which have fixed the issue.
    1) I was told to uninstall then reinstall backup assistant only to be told by my local Verizon store that factory installed software can't be uninstalled.
    2) I was told to take my phone to BestBuy to have it reflashed (even though I bought the phone directly from my local Verizon store. BestBuy told me they can only reflash Samsung products.
    3) I was told to go to the Backup assistant app under options and dial *73738# to reset BackUp assistant
    4) Finally I was told to go thru the process of restoring my phone to facory settings in case I had corrupted software.... but this phone has done this since day 1 when it was taken out of the box and activated by store employees... so how is a restore to the phone's original state going to help???
Maybe if enough of us complain, they won't be able to continue to give piecemeal advice that is unhelpful.....
My phone is the LG Cosmos3

This is ridiculous, why isn't it working properly? I have never had this issue before.
    Hi Simkee,
I trust that the Backup Assistant issue outlined on your post has been resolved by now. Please keep in mind that some times a bad installation may cause the application to fail. Removing and re-installing application may resolve the issue. If you're still experiencing issues with Backup Assistant please delete application from your phone, power phone off and on, and then re-install the application.

  • Backup Assistant. Blackberry Bold 9650

I see my contact info on MyVerizon online and it about 2 years old. Its full of contacts I've deleted and missing everything I've added since then. When I import contacts it does not find any new information. When I open Backup Assistant on my phone it says enter PIN to restore data which I am apprehensive about proceeding with. I can only assume will be that incorrect info that gets restored. Help me Obi Wan.
