Dreamweaver 2014.1 html atributes color coding

This latest version messed up color coding for HTML (notice the HTML tags attributes):
Is this the default now? No way to revert back to the way it was until version 2014?
Thanks

Another solution is to use Colors.xml from Dreamweaver CS6 or CC2014 and overwrite the one from CC2014.1.
I installed Dreamweaver CS6 and copied the file from:
Applications ▸  Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 ▸ Configuration ▸ CodeColoring ▸ Colors.xml
And overwrite the ones in:
Applications ▸ Adobe Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 ▸ configuration ▸ CodeColoring ▸ Colors.xml
Users ▸ youruser ▸ Library ▸ Application Support ▸ Adobe ▸ Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 ▸ en_US ▸ Configuration ▸ CodeColoring ▸ Colors.xml
(Not sure if it's necessary to overwrite both...)
Close and reopen Dreamweaver CC2014.1 and you should have the old color code back.
Disclaimer:
I'm not sure if this breaks anything with another languages, but for me it's ok with HTML, CSS, JS and PHP.
You should copy the original Color.xml from Dreamweaver CC2014.1 and save it elsewhere. Don't just rename it. Remove it completely from the CodeColoring folder.
If anything goes wrong, close Dreamweaver and use the original Colors.xml.

  • Where is SQL color coding in Dreamweaver?

I can't seem to find the SQL color coding in Dreamweaver
CS4... how can this be omitted from such a product? Is it staring
me in the face and I am just incredibly dull and can't find
    it?

Dreamweaver's SQL creation handles very simple SQL pretty
easy, think SELECT * FROM or SELECT col1, col2, col3 WHERE id =
parameter. But beyond that, Dreamweaver just isn't the tool for
    editing/creating SQL.
I can't think of the last time that I used Dreamweaver to
create SQL beyond the above. If I need something more complex, I'll
either enter it in myself into the SQL string in a recordset, or
use other SQL specific tools to create SQL such as Enterprise
Manger for SQL Server, or SQL Server Management Studio Express for
SQL Server 2005, or MySQL Control Center for MySQL, that sort of
thing. Not every tool can do everything, so I try to use the
appropriate tool for the appropriate task.
Now, that doesn't mean that I don't feel like it should allow
for a better application building experience within Dreamweaver. I
feel that there should be a full fledged query builder similar to
the query builder within Access that would allow for complex SQL
generation. But I've asked for that, and if you want it, or other
server/database related features, please do ask for it:

  • Opening SASS files (.scss) in Dreamweaver (CS6) but no color coding or hinting

Hi there, wanted to ask if anyone has a solution for getting Dreamweaver (CS6) on a Mac (10.9.5) to be able to open a .sccs file with color coding and hinting. At the moment opens files but no autocomplete, color coding or hinting.

Thanks for the help. I didn't think the retina did, I just wanted to help clarify what I was working with. I tried changing the external editor also and that got the split design view working again, but still no code coloring gosh darnit.

  • Color Coding in PHP/MySQL model: INC file

    Dreamweaver 8.02 on Vista RTM (wouldn't matter I don't
    think).
I have a site I was using DWMX to manage previously and at
that time I got into one of the XML or TXT files associated with DW
and changed it so it would reckonize .INC as a valid file and
therefore give me some color-coding, code suggestions as I am
    typing etc.
On DW8 I see similiar XML/TXT files (for DW config) and now
INC files are all over the place... so I am thinking it should
    reckonize this file types.
Still though, the color coding (and the ability to use the
menus to insert img's, etc) are greyed out.
    Any ideas?
    A typical inc
    <div>
    html
    html
    html
    </div>
    nothing hardcore.
Any ideas? Macromedia/Adobe help online wasn't much help and
my searching on the forums isnt bringing up anything.

The .inc filename extension is popular, but it's also
    insecure unless
the include files are stored outside the server root. Web
    servers have
no idea of the correct MIME type for an .inc file, so they
    just serve
them up as plain text if a direct request is sent to the
    server. This
risks exposing sensitive information, such as database
    passwords.
It's far safer to use the combination .inc.php. The server
    sees the .php
filename extension and parses any code as PHP. The .inc
    reminds you that
    it's an include file.

That might have been a solution from the begining but I was
going off what I was reading in some PHP books and looking at
samples, etc. I am running PHP5 on IIS6 and its been fine for a
year, I just tried what you mentioned, to treverse directly to the
includes (and I know where they are...) and IIS doesn't give them
up. If you have a method to try let me know I would be interested
in seeing... though honestly, in the case of the website at hand,
minus one dynamic section what is in the INC is what people see by
viewing source on thier browser and in case of the dynamic pages
(google maps mashup) they can have it ;) if it helps them with
thier site... let me know if there is a way to test that security.

  • Color Coding not Coloring the Code

    Hello All,
I am using Dreamweaver CS3 on a Mac and for some reason, when
I set the Color Coding in my preferences, it will not show in my
    document.
I tried saving the document and double checked if I actually
had the document set to php and no luck.
is there something I might be doing something wrong?
Mainly, I set the php comment code color to a color and bold
and nothing shows when I use a comment in the document.
Thanks for any help or advice,

To get new pages to default to PHP, do this:
    1. Edit your Site
(Site > Manage Sites... > Edit...)
    2. Make sure you have a Testing Server defined
    (Category: Testing Server)
    3. Set Server Model to be "PHP MySQL"

  • Color Coding a status report

    Hi All,
Is there a way in web dynpro to color code some values retrieved from a RFC call?
For example, say I have a BAPI that returns a status code in a table structure in the form of a character.
'R' - Red, 'Y' - yellow and 'G' -Green. In the web dynpro I loop thru the table to find out how many red, green and yellows have been returned, eg. R = 3, Y = 5 and G = 9.
Can I then show like a color coded progress bar with the actual colors in web dynpro?
Like so, RRRYYYYYGGGGGGGGG, with the letters being the actual colors? Can this be done?
Any suggestions will be greatly welcomed. It doesn't have to be exactly like above.
    Thanks
    TM

    Hi Tony,
I'm new, so feel free to use my approach or not.. =)
I'd first, define three Context Attributes, Red, Yellow, Green (These will reffers to amounts).
You can even, do the sum once, using an Action. You would need to iterate over your table, accessing the Fields and counting by yourself, like:
    if ("RED".equals(modelProperty))
      red++
    if ("YELLOW".equals(modelProperty))
You can also use a switch case if you preffer. You will have the amount of each element in your Value Attributes at that time.
You can define another three Attributes, RedWidth, YellowWidth, GreenWidth, they will be calculated and return type string.
    These calculated attributes will:
      - Access each value Node, for its color;
      - Multiply that guy for any other number you want (to increase width);
      - Return Width + px to View
In the View, declare some Images, Red, Yellow, Green colors. I think you can do a 1px image and just resize on the property in runtime. You can define the height in Web Dynpro Layout, no worries. Put them all in a line, with no spaces between each other.. it should look like a bar I think. Remember that we can't manipulate HTML / JS in Web Dynpro (not at least NW04s I think) - so, don't expect some fancy fancy stuff.. =)
Whenever you change the Node (which you put your calculated attributes in) it will update the values, and return new widths.
The second way to do this is, instead of calculating the value in an Action, calculate the value directly in the Calculated Attribute, (iterating thru the main model node, for each respective color) - It will be a bit slowly, however, less nodes are required. You can probably choose what's best for you.
The code itself shouldn't be that hard. Tell me if you need any more information on how to do the stuff.
    Regards,
    Daniel

  • Will Edge include support for color coding for ASP Classic .asp files

We have some old sites running asp Classic (Active server Pages)
How can I add color coding for .asp files?

Edge Code should already highlight .asp files as plain HTML.  If you're looking for highlighting of the ASP-specific code, that is something Edge Code does not plan to support out of the box.
It is possible to write an extension that adds this support, but it would not be a small amount of work -- you'd have to write a tokenizer yourself to support syntax highlighting, for example.  Details on writing an extension that adds a new language can be found here: https://github.com/adobe/brackets/wiki/Language-Support#defining-a-new-language

  • Custom Color Coding

    Hi,
I'd like to alter the color coding in dreamweaver, so that
comments and inline comments are handled different... it would make
my life just a bit easier. This would be for an actionscript
document. I've made the following changes:
in codecoloring.xml, I altered this line:
    <endOfLineComment name="InlineComment"
    id="CodeColor_ActionscriptInlineComment">//</endOfLineComment>
in codecolors.xml, I added this line:
    <syntaxColor id="CodeColor_ActionscriptInlineComment"
    text="#DEDEDE" />
This does nothing though. I haven't found any documentation
on editing these files... anyone know?
    Thanks,
    Geoff B

    Geoff,
That looks about right. Make sure that you are editing the
    xml in the
User Configuraiton folder and not the Application
    Configuration folder.
    This TechNote explains the difference:

You can drag files from Bridge into Dreamweaver Design View. You will not be told that the file is not in the root folder when you choose a file that is in the root folder. If the file is not in the root folder, it will be placed there if the answer to the alert message was in the affirmative.

  • I have messages in mail that are color-coded as if by a rule, but I have no rules set. How can I correct this?

The only rule that I ever had in Mail was the default one that color coded messages from Apple blue. I notice that some messages are color-coded brown and I have no rules set at al (hence no rule to turn off.)  Some of the messages are related to viewing online magazine, but not all.  How can I stop this?

    Hi. Thanks for your message.
Well, I understand what you are trying to say but I thought it was easier to categorize in Apple Mail.
On Entourage I just click twice on a sender address, record it on Address book and give it a colour that I previously defined as "Work", "Personal", "Customers", "Suppliers", "Friends" or whatever.
As Apple Mail don't have Address Book as part of it but an outside feature it's very annoying. Of course I am used to use a software and I don't expect now Apple Mail do everything as Entourage but... as someone said it seems Apple Mail stopped in time. The recent version seems the first one ever issued. I hate the way Mail.app handles attachments by placing big chunky previews right in my email. I prefer them to be named attachments listed somewhere else, out of the content of my email. I don't if I can change this via terminal commands? Can you tell me if that is possible?
I don't understand why Apple Mail have lots of plugins instead of a great improvment from the backstage.
I use Apple computers since ever and I love this machines but sometimes I don't understand this lake of improvments.
Take a look at this link:
    http://scottworldblog.wordpress.com/2009/10/12/microsoft-entourage-vs-apple-mail /
Of course I don't agree 100% with him but some things are true...

  • Is there a way to restore the earlier color-coding format?

If there is a workaround to restore the earlier color-tag format, I would love to know it.
In the alternative, I've submitted the following to Apple and wanted to share it with the community also, in case there is no workaround and others would like to add their voice in addressing the issue:
The new single-dot color coding of tags in Mavericks doesn't work for me AT ALL.
I have been relying on Apple's full-width color coding for quite some time because it could help me easily discern—at a glance—different file versions, project statuses, and other workflow particulars—without having to read the filenames' text.  In other words, it's been a convenient right-brain workflow.
The key here, of course, is the idea of "easily" and "at a glance."  The new Mavericks color coding both extends and confounds my workflow—I now must do an additional visual search of any given list of files, especially because my filenames are often long (informational) and their middle section (in the column view) is likely truncated to conform to Apple's default narrow column formatting.
The purpose and point of color coding is to reduce time and complexity and aid organization.  However, the Mavericks version now requires (1) doing a visual scan of an entire column of filenames, instead of a visual "grab" of whole bands of color without any need to read the filenames, (2) locating the color dots at the ends of those column lines and making sure they correlate with the proper text (left-brain/right-brain work instead of just staying right-brain), (3) making a color comparison of extremely small fields of color (tiny dots instead of full-wide bands), and (4) implementing a visual/mental check step to ascertain that that a particular color dot is the correct one. Because of the added confusion of having to do "manual" left-to-right visual placement, it becomes necessary to add the step of expanding the filenames (column widths) to get certainty.
I'm guessing that at this early point in the Mavericks proliferation you'll likely want to dig your heels in to defend and preserve all the involved and extensive work you did to produce the update, but I strongly urge you to revisit the particular design decision mentioned here.  It makes it tougher for us out here using the program, and it works against your PR efforts:  I'm now less likely to trust your design decisions and will be much less likely to implement future updates or champion them.
If I could uninstall Mavericks and get my previous version back, just for this one item alone, I would. It's been a mainstay feature for me, and one of the things I've lauded to non-Mac users to encourage them to venture Apple.

Downgrade Mavericks to Your Previous System
    For Lion or Mountain Lion
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to a Mountain Lion Installer app or USB flash drive installer:
Partition and Format the hard drive
          1. Select the target volume you wish to use.
          2. Select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu in the menubar.
          3. In Disk Utility select the target volume from the left side list. Click on the
Partition tab in the Disk Utility main window. Set the Partition Scheme to one
              (1) from the drop down menu. Set the Format type to Mac OS Extended,
Journaled. Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.
Quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu. Quit the Main Menu to return to
              the installer.
Install Lion/Mountain Lion: Select install Lion or Mountain Lion and click on the Install button. .
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
    For Snow Leopard or Earlier
    1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups made while on Snow Leopard, then you may do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.  If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion/Mountain Lion files.
