Dreamweaver flash text

I tried to manually edit the code with wmode transparency
settings, but it's still not working. I'm using the Dreamweaver CS3
Flash Text tool to create vector clean text and would like
background to be transparent

I don't believe you can do that with the Flash text tool. You
would just need to match the color.
Also it would be a good idea to not get too used to using the
Flash Text tool as the function is deprecated and will be
discontinued in all future versions.

    hi everyone,
I have some small text near the bottom of my web page and when I add my SWF file it shifts the text out of position and I cant put it back without reducing the size of the flash files dimension which I don't want to do. How can I add the flash file without affecting where my text is?
the flash file will overlap the text but since I set its wmode to transparent I can still see the text so its no issue.
thanks everyone here is my code if needed.

    Hi,
in CS5 it's the same procedure. Here you can see a screenshot of my (German) DW:
and the procedure in words (translated from my German DW is:
Create a really new subdirectory (optional in order to try, not a must).
    Create a new html/php-file.
Work in designMode --> Insert Flash-Video.
    Search/browse ---> yourFLV.flv
Skin: Halo Skin 3 (min. width 280) ( it was my choice)
    width 640 ( it's my choice)
    height 480 ( it's my choice)
    I clicked all the boxes
---> And now away with all these files below (produced from DW) to your server.
Best you have a look with WIN-Explorer into your directory, to see all the files DW has created in your subdirectory and don't forget one):
    YourFlv.flv
    YourFlv.htm (or YourFlv.php)
Clear_Skin_1.swf (DW created it cause of my choice above)
    FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf (DW created it)
Here you can see a testversion of my own: http://www.goldschmiede-blumberg.de/AdobTest/flv/flv1.html
If you really did all these without any effort, please send us a link to your website.

I'm guessing there is a "funky" character in the hd name or
    in the path down
    to the "local site folder"
    please do this:
open a new file using File->New

type some text, select it, and make a link to something in
    this site using
the property inspector folder icon to bring up the "browse to

Because of their serious usability problems, both Flash Text and Flash Buttons have been removed from DW CS4.  There is no alternative method offered in DW other than the use of sIFR for Flash Text (not a good general replacement method) -

  • Missing Fonts in Flash Text List

I am using Dreamweaver CS3 on a Windows XP computer. In the
"Insert Flash Text" dialog box, in the font drop down menu, I am
not seeing all of my installed fonts. I see a few OpenType and a

  • Troubles saving flash text (or buttons) in CS3

I have been trying to build a banner in dreamweaver cs3 with
flash text, but i can neither save nor apply the text as i keep
    getting the error message,
"text1.swf is an invalid file name. Please enter a different
    name."
and i continue to get the message regardless of whatever name
(with or without the .swf extension) I use.
    help????

It appears to be at least partly related to what I mentioned, if not entirely.  If you look in the html code you will see the following line...
    <script src="Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
Your web page utilizes this file (Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js) to display the Flash content provided you have javascript allowed for your web browser.  So you need to create the same Scripts folder on the server and place the AC_RunActiveContent.js file in that folder.
Alternatively, you could place it in the same folder as your html file and just lose the folder reference in the line of code, the important thing is that the web page laods that js file....
    <script src="AC_RunActiveContent.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

  • Link flash text to center frame

    Hello,
I generated a flash text with dreamweaver. This text should
be a link that opens in the center target frame. The problem is
that I cannot choose the center frame as target (only self, parent,
blank, top).... . What can I do to make the link open in the center
    frame?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jeremy

that' just the code to place the swf file. You need to get
    into the .fla file...
However, I think I see what you mean... if you're creating
this entirely in Dreamweaver, then you probably don't have access
to the actual actionscript. It's also limiting when you just place
an flv within Dreamweaver because you can delete skins and many
    other things.
how did you generate the text animation within
    Dreamweaver?

  • Edit Flash text without opening Flash?

In earlier versions of Dreamweaver, it was wasy to click on a flash text objet and edit the font and text. Now, in CS4, it defaults to the whole Flash program, which is most annoying. Is there a way to "unhinge" this function so that it works the old way?

calling text from an external txt file into flash has been an
option for as long as i can remember -
that said, there are hundreds of resources online for using
external text with flash. I recommend
going to www.kirupa.com where they have a very well written
tutorial on this with a source file.

  • Flash text target  _self problem

I am a graphic artist using Mac (Leopard) and have uploaded

I have created 3 flash text buttons (HOME, PORTFOLIO, and RESUME)
and the target is _self. When navigating my pages should switch to

works OK when I preview it in Dreamweaver, but online it keeps
    adding new pages.
    http://home.comcast.net/~susurrus/susan/

    > 3 flash text buttons (HOME, PORTFOLIO, and RESUME)
Bad idea. If you want to use Flash for navigation, consider
    this -
    1. Some people don't have Flash installed - what do they do?
    2. Search engines don't parse Flash links - your site will
    not be spidered
    3. Screen assistive devices don't parse Flash links - what
    will those users
    do?
    4. DW cannot maintain links within a Flash movie, so if you
    move or rename
a linked file, your navigation will break - what will you do?
It's usually a very bad idea for these reasons...
