Dual monitors issues with Built application

I made a vi that uses both monitors.  I set the run time position to the second monitor on one vi and the first monitor on the other vi.  The vi running on the primary monitor calls the second vi on the second monitor vi the Vi Server.  This works great when working in the development environment.
But when I build the application, the vi that is supposed to be on the second monitor, shows up over the vi on the primary monitor.
Did I miss a setting in the Application Settings??

  • Dual monitor issue with 10.8 and Windows 7 (bootcamp)

I've a read a lot of threads here about people having nightmare-ish problems after upgrading.  Thankfully, this isn't one of them, just a frustration that I'd like advice on.
My system:  2010 13" MBP, 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB RAM, 320GB HD.  Work setup has external 17" Dell Widescreen monitor connected with VGA to miniDisplay adapter.  Home theater setup has 23" Dell monitor connected with HDMI to miniDisplay cable.
I upgraded from 10.6.8 to 10.8, as I like to stay up to date and it seemed ML fixed many of the Lion issues.  After finding out Front Row is completely gone I just about reverted (my laptop doubles as my home theater control).  I found XBMC, and it works, sort of (anyone with news on whether Front Row will be returned to us, let me know!).
    Enough babbling, my issue:
When I switch from bootcamp windows 7 back to OS X, my second monitor's resolution is all screwed up (very low) and the dock and menu bar are BOTH on the second (Dell 17") screen, though it's not in a mirror mode.
Usually the dock is on the laptop screen, and the menu bar is on the second.
All I have to do is unplug the miniDisplay port and plug it back in, but is there a setting I'm missing to keep me from having to do this?  Also, I've never used Windows at home, so I've never had to switch with the 23 inch monitor connected.  Don't really want to try as that system is working quite well right now.
    Thanks!
    -Rob

    It's NVidia GeForce 320M.
Just checked the drivers page and the Mac side only lists up to 10.6.8
Should I assume that the update needs to be on the Windows 7 side?  At one point last November I tried to update on the Windows side and it caused all sorts of **** on my system causing me to have to reinstall both OS X and 7.
    May be worth another try?

  • Dual Monitor Problems with Vista

I have a Lenovo T61 laptop running Vista ultimate 32 bit, SP1. I schlep this back and forth from home to work and put it in docking stations at each location. The docking stations have external monitors attached. At work I have a Viewsonic VX2035wm 20" Wide screen, (16:10) monitor with optimum resolution of 1680x1050. At home I have a Viewsonic VA912b 19" standard aspect ratio monitor with a suggested resolution of 1280x1024.
I typically run in dual monitor mode using my laptop display and the external monitor and extend the display across both monitors. Sometimes I run with the laptop display as the primary monitor, sometimes the external is the primary.
When I take my system from one location to another, generally upon boot or resume it recognizes the different monitor configurations and adjusts the display properties accordingly. However, about once a week I have a problem. For example, I shutdown at home, came into work and attempted to boot the system. Upon boot my external monitor displayed a frequency out of range error and did not display anything else. I suspect that the external port was configured to a setting that was not supported by the monitor. It appears that this was the primary display because my laptop only showed the background and the desktop did not display. Since nothing was displayed, I couldn't click the start menu, any icons, etc. I tried to adjust the monitor configuration by right clicking the laptop screen and selecting personalize, but the personalization dialog would not show up and I suspect that it went to the blanked out external monitor.
Please advise on how I can handle this situation. Is there any way to move the display from the external to the notebook when this happens? I noticed that Viewsonic has Vista drivers listed on their web site. Would it help to download and install these? Is there anything else you can suggest?

The main point of posting this topic was to point out the appalling service offered by Adobe but, of course resolving this issue would be nice also.
    So here goes;
Dual monitor issue (Applies to CS4 applications; Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc. but not Flash or Dreamweaver or any other manufacturers software).
I have 2 monitors installed with Windows Vista 64bit, using Nvidia Quadro FX 1700:
    -1280 x 1024 (primary display on the left) &
    -1440 x 900 (on the right)
With a CS4 application maximised in the larger monitor, all the drop down menus display fine, if the chosen drop-down menu is taller than the height of the monitor (fonts, for instance), an arrow appears at the bottom of the menu so that I can scroll down the rest of the menu. If I then reduce the size of the CS4 application window, move it to the smaller monitor and maximised it again, the drop-down menu (which displayed and functioned fine in the primary monitor) is cropped off so I can't access the rest of the menu.
This might seem a minor irritation, but for batch-processing of merged files (the main purpose for having 2 monitors) CS4 makes the 2nd monitor redundant.
Another, less irritating issue (again, only with the applications named above) is that the window when maximised in the secondary monitor 'hangs over' into the primary monitor.

  • Dual monitor setup with seperate resolutions

    hey guys!
i currentley run thye latest version of archlinux with the cinnamon desktop environment and an nvidia geforce 7300SE graphics card.
im running a dual monitor setup with one 27" 1920x1080 monitor and one 27" 1024X768 monitor
because they have the same physical size they line up perfectley but because the resolution is different programs/mouse cursor movement doesnt, is there any way (without changing the resolutions) to compensate this effect so that in the eyes of linux/cinnamon the monitors line up so that for example dragging a window goes seamlessley between the 2 monitors.
i HAVE found out the panning option in the nvidia x server settings, but that really isnt what i am looking for...

A magnifier following the window down to the pixel, zooming to the exact size of 540 pixels the 384 pixels window could create an illusion of just that. It would be highly impractical however, not mention all the hacking time. Even if you would manage to get two screen with different sized icons, so that they match visually, the windows and fonts resizing on the fly, wmctrl might help with windows alone, no their themes (buttons, borders thickness etc.), you would still be left with a visually differently sized mouse cursor. Technically such a feat should be possible, but who is going to code it? Nvidia?

  • Does LR handle a dual monitor setup with different aspect ratios (16:9 and 16:10)?

Does LR 5 handle a dual monitor setup with different aspect ratios (16:9 and 16:10)?
I'm planing to buy a 27" 16:9 monitor and use it as primary together with a 22" 16:10. Does any have any idea?
    Thanks

Moreover, the two monitors can have completely different characteristics.  As always, you really need to calibrate/profile any monitor (with a hardware tool - Spyder, Colormunki etc).  That's no more important with two monitors, but you see for sure if you don't, as two dissimilar monitors will then probably look different.

  • TS1702 I'm not able to update Smurf's Village. Tried most of the things proposed on the net including restarting the iPad and trying syncing with the computer. Had a similar issue with another application. Had to delete and reinstall it, with all history

I'm not able to update Smurf's Village. Tried most of the things proposed on the net including restarting the iPad and trying syncing with the computer. Had a similar issue with another application. Had to delete and reinstall it, with all history lost.
Tried following up with the developer's instruction. Didn't help. Developer suggested contacting Apple if their instruction didn't work. Tried the various methods recommended on the Apple site. Same result.

Telling is that you tried most of the things on the net doesn't tell us exactly what you did try, so we are all still left to guess .....
Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again
If that doesnt work - go to Settings>General>Date and Time - set the date ahead by a few months. Try to update again. If you get an error message of any kind - go back and change the date and time to automatic again. Then try again.
If that doesn't work, restart your router and reboot the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Server 2012 Dual Monitor Issue - Can't Get it to work properly.

I have a HP Proliant ML310e that runs Server 2012 R2. It came with an on-board VGA graphics adapter, that was using a Microsoft Basic Display Adapter driver and working fine.
Needing to run dual monitors, I contacted HP and purchased a Nvida K2000 PCIE graphics card. I installed it using their latest drivers and rebooted, making sure that the new PCIE card was enabled in the BIOS.
While booting, the server actually now displayed on the new 'second' monitor connected to the newly installed Nvida card. When I actually logged in and went into the display properties, it was only detecting the new display - I couldn't even force detect
    the original display.
Also, when I go into device Manger, it now only shows the Nvidia graphics adapter - no longer shows that the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter is present.
Any advice on how to get dual monitors to work on Server 2012. I did try the Windows/P Projector display, but that did nothing.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
You should check your BIOS settings - some motherboard will disable onboard display card once a PCI(E) card is plugged in. This is a hardware settings issue. If  HP support is available, ask them for detailed configuration steps.

  • Multi-monitor issue with CS4?

Hi; I'm running a Mac with the following specs:
    3 x 30" ACD
    MacPro 2,8 Ghz Quad
2x ATI Radon 2600 XT graphics cards (2 screens attached to 1 card; 1 screen to the other card)
I've encountered after the switch from CS3 to CS4 the following issue:
Whenever I try to use the new Bridge Review function using one of the the screens sharing one graphics card I just get a grey screen.
If I move the bridge window to the solely attached screen it works.
Is that an issue of CS4 or is just the throughput of the second graCard providing 2 monitors not sufficient.
    Thanks t.

    T,
There are known issues with using more than one graphics card which Apple has not truly resolved.  You may want to browse some of the threads in the Adobe Photoshop Macintosh forum.
In addition, you should know that Photoshop and Bridge cannot really take advantage of more than one graphic card.
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/1540485#1540485
This bit of information in relation to GPU and OpenGL features and
limitations in Photoshop CS4 had totally escaped me until now. Though
it doesn't affect my setup, it might be of interest to others who may
    have missed it too.
    Excerpt from
    http://www.adobe.com/go/kb404898
    Q. Does Photoshop take advantage of dual-GPU display cards?
    A. Not at this time.
    Q. Why can't Photoshop take advantage of more than one display card?
    A. When you move an image window between two monitors that are
each on a separate display card, the GPU attached to the second monitor
does not have access to the data necessary to accelerate drawing. The
SLI and Crossfire technologies that use more than one GPU to speed up
full-screen games will not work with Photoshop, because their use is
limited by design to accelerate only full-screen games.

I get that ^^: looks like the VGA screen IS 1280x1024, but for some reason ratpoison thinks it's 1280x800 (all open windows have that size).
this does not happen in DWM, but should work ok with ratpoison too...so I'm guessing it's a wrong setup on my part.
Enabling Xinerama in xorg.conf doesn't even start X at all...it segfaults
What other steps should I take to makea working dual monitor environment? I would like to have 2 X screens btw (my laptop to be screen :1 and CRT screen :0 (the default))

Scratch that..it was working..but silly me forgot to use ":nextscreen" in Ratpoison..so the windows would open at 1280x800 since the damn thing though I'm still on the first monitor

  • Dual monitor setup with Docking station and W500 on windows 8

    Hi there
    I have a w500 with ATI Radeon 3650
Trying hard to have it set up with windows 8 and two monitors with my docking station. It worked with XP, Vista, W7...but no go now.
Any solutions out there? I don't care about catalyst control center, or which drivers I have to use, just give me back my two monitors connected to a docking station

I have the same W500 setup and have had no luck finding Windows 8 drivers on Lenovo's site or AMD's. I have a support ticket in to Lenovo to see what they come up with. I have two flat panel monitors that I need to work. According to  MS, Catalyst Control Center has compatibility issues with Win8. It was easy to set up both monitors under Win7 with CCC. I have not been able to set them up using Windows display setting in Control Panel. Does anyone out there know of an app that I can use to replace CCC and run two monitors?

  • Issue with Setting Application Item

    Hi All,
I have an issue with setting the value of application item G_USER_ID as part of the login process.
    I use customized authentication for login. I have created an application item G_USER_ID, and in my CUSTOM_AUTH procedure, I am setting its value as APEX_UTIL.SET_SESSION_STATE('G_USER_ID', l_user_id);
For some reason, the value is not set to G_USER_ID the first time I login. When I log out and login again without closing the browser, the value is set. Note that I even tested with a static value instead of l_user_id like APEX_UTIL.SET_SESSION_STATE('G_USER_ID', '5555555'); but still fails to set during the first login.
I hope someone can guide me as to what I am doing wrong here.
    Thanks!

  • Dual Monitor issue - Open file to 2nd monitor?

I have a dual monitor setup in Windows 7 and like to work with all the tool panels and PS main window on the left monitor and the photo open full screen on the right. I have tried saving the workspace with the image open full screen on the right monitor, but no matter what I try, everytime I open/re-open a file, it loads on the left monitor behind the tool panels. I then have to press F5 to mnimize some tool panels, then grab and drag the image window to the right screen. Then I have to press the F key to maximize the image window and F5 to restore the tool panels. This is my routine everytime I open a file. There has to be a better way! I have tried things like reseting to the default workspace, moving the PS window and tool panels to the right screen, but it seems the placement of a newly opened document must be hard-coded to open in the main PS window, no matter what the user has setup.

Yeah, this is annoying as hell.
In CS3, if you dragged an image to your second monitor all subsequent images would open up there. I'll leave my snarky, sarcastic comments about the wisdom of this new "feature" for another time. What might end up working you is putting the image on your monitor of choice (along with the app frame and the menu bar) and dragging the tool palettes to the other monitor. That's what I'm doing now and it's taking some getting used to but fortunately, once you drag over the tool box and the layer stack, everything else tool-related seems to open up there OK. The images stay on the other screen (for the most part).
All things considered, it still sucks... but when you only have one choice, the decision is easy to make.

  • T410 Dual monitor support with integrated graphics

I am considering purchasing a T410 with integrated graphics, but I need to make sure it will support dual digital displays (with a dock of course).  I use a T500 for work, and when I switch to the integrated chip, I am unable to use dual monitors.
Can someone confirm that the T410 (integrated graphics) can use dual digital displays with a dock?

Should work. That NEC is 1920x1080 which is suported on the single-link DVI. DP can handle even more. The dock has both DVI and DP. Your ThinkPad supports the 2 monitor outs. My understanding is the ThinkPad LCD would need to be off when you do this; the specs on the dock mention max 2 monitors simultaneously.

  • Is a dual monitor setup with 2graphic cards possible?

    HI.
What i want to do is run Archlinux on my Desktop but i dont want to miss my second monitor.
I could use both monitor on my nvidia graphiccard but i want to use the energy saving features too (wich dont work with 2monitor on one card) therefore my windows setup is big monitor on nvidia and the smaller one on the intel onboard card.
They both get recognized by lspci but only the onboard cards isy being used (the onboard card is the first card on windows too).
So is it possible to get it to work? Id really want to use ARchlinux on my Desktop too but i dont want to use it with one screen or without energy saving?
Working compositing is a must, i want to use gnome3 wich is the only reason to swich to linux for the Desktop (arch is running on the laptop for ages^^) but i dont need to, Win7 is working flawlessly fine and i didnt have to pay for it (msdnaa).
    Thanks in advance!

hy do you need to clock down your card?
Most gpu have a function that clocks down the card@idle and or desktop.
In my case thats down from 850mhz(560ti)to 200mhz while using windows and 50mhz if the gpu load is low.
Thats about 20watts less then with full clock.
The problem is, that the gpu wont clock down with 2monitors on it, it stays at 850mhz.
Theres some driver tweaks for amd cards wich "fix" thatfix this (i believe its intentionl, 2monitors equals more load but its no problem with new cards...
Thats one reason i use my onboard gpu for the second monitor, it works well with windows and also means that swiching off fullscreen (games) to the desktop works a lot better, the second monitor can play a movie while playing wich doesnt work with one gpu and fullscreen.
I really dont need that with Linux since i use it for work and multimedia only but the energy saving feature is nice if the pc is on 8hours and more wich is often the case.
Can you tell which one do you run? I'm going to buy one for dual-monitor setup, and I'm looking for something that will work for shure.
As said dual monitor on one gpu works, amd can do 3monitors while nvidia can do 2 at once, that means if u intend to use 3monitors some day with ur card u have to buy an amd card.
i took the nvidia because is can use it to render videos with cuda support (its not working with all tools yet but its getting better and if it works its a lot faster then my cpu rendering).
PS: Thats one hread about the power saviing with 2monitors:http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=197557
since my monitors dont share the same resolution it seems that theres no way to make it work .

  • Terminal monitor issue with 3750

I'm having an issue with term mon not displaying messages. I enable term mon on telnet connection and have checked the log settings and monitor is set as debugging.
