Dynamic change of URL

I want to load a new "Page" really it is a new section of the
same movie, but I need to update the URL address WITHOUT reloading
the site. Is this possible using actionscript??
THANK YOU!

No, a user comes to our web site, and clicks on one of the
buttons that I have created in the movie. Now, that button loads up
an all new section of the same movie that was hidden until they
clicked on the button. That works fine. But now, I want the button
to update the URL to something new when it is clicked, without
reloading the current page.

• Javascript to dynamically change url in submit button

Hi guys
Is there anyone who can share the code to dynamically change the url in the submit button?
Thanks
Sam

Change the button to Regular button instead of Submit and write the code in the click event of the button.
(OR)
Keep the button as Submit and remove the URL in the button properties. Place the code in preSubmit event to set the URL for submit.
The code to set the URL in any of the above approaches:
this.resolveNode("#event").submit.target = "PLACE URL HERE";
Thanks

• How do I use Sun Web Server 7.0u1 reverse proxy to change public URLs?

Some of our installations use the Sun Web Server 7.0 (update 1, usually)
for hosting some of the public resource and reverse-proxying other parts
of the URI namespace from other backend servers (content, application
and other types of servers).
So far every type of backend server served a unique part of the namespace
and there was no collision of names, and the backend resources were
published in a one-to-one manner. That is, a backend resource like, say,
http://appserver:8080/content/page.html would be published in the internet
as http://www.publicsite.com/content/page.html
I was recently asked to research whether we can rename some parts of
the public URI namespace, to publish some or all resources as, say,
http://www.publicsite.com/data/page.html while using the same backend
resources.
Another quest, possibly related in solution, was to make a tidy url for the
first page the user opens of the site. That is, in the current solution when
a visitor types the url "www.publicsite.com" in his or her browser, our web
server returns an HTTP-302 redirect to the actual first page URL, so the
browser sends a second request (and changes the URL in its location bar).
One customer said that it is not "tidy". They don't want the URL to change
right upon first rendering the page. They want the root page to be rendered
instantly i the first HTTP request.
So far I found that I can't solve these problems. I believe these problems
share a solution because it relies on ability to control the actual URI strings
requested by Sun Web Server from backend servers.
Some details follow, now:
It seems that the reverse proxy (Service fn="service-passthrough") takes
only the $uri value which was originally requested by the browser. I didn't
yet manage to override this value while processing a request, not even if
I "restart" a request. Turning the error log up to "finest" I see that even
when making the "service-passthrough" operation, the Sun Web Server
still remembers that the request was for "/test" (in my test case below);
it does indeed ask the backend server for an URI "/test" and that fails.
[04/Mar/2009:21:45:34] finest (25095) www.publicsite.com: for host xx.xx.xx.83

# this causes /content/* to be taken from another (backend) server
NameTrans fn="assign-name" from="/content" name="content-test" nostat="/content"
# this causes requests to site root to be HTTP-redirected to a certain page URI
<If $uri =~ '^/$'>
NameTrans fn="redirect"
url="http://www.publicsite.com/content/MainPage.html"
</If>

### This maps http://public/content/* to http://10.16.2.127:8080/content/*

I have also tried "restart"ing the request like this:
NameTrans fn="restart" uri="/data"or desperately trying to set the new request uri like this:
Service fn="set-variable" uri="/magnoliaPublic/Main.html"Thanks for any ideas (including a statement whether this can be done at all
in some version of Sun Web Server 7.0 or its opensourced siblings) ;)

Some of our installations use the Sun Web Server 7.0 (update 1, usually)please plan on installing the latest service pack - 7.0 Update 4. these updates addresses potentially critical bug fixes.
I was recently asked to research whether we can rename some parts of
the public URI namespace, to publish some or all resources as, say,
http://www.publicsite.com/data/page.html while using the same backend
resources.> now, if all the resources are under say /data, then how will you know which pages need to be sent to which back end resources. i guess, you probably meant to check for /data/page.html should go to <back-end>/content/page.html
yes, you could do something like
- edit your corresponding obj.conf (<hostname>-obj.conf or obj.conf depending on your configuration)

<If $uri = ¨/page/¨>
#move this nametrans SAF (for map directive - which is for reverse proxy within <if> clause)
NameTrans.. fn=map
</If

and you could do https-<hostname>/bin/reconfig (dynamic reconfiguration) to check out if this is what you wanted. also, you might want to move config/server.xml <log-level> to finest and do your configuration . this way, you would get enough information on what is going on within your server logs.
finally,when you are satisfied, you might have to run the following command to make your manual change into admin config repository.
<install-root>/bin/wadm pull-config user=admin config=<hostname> <hostname>
<install-root>/bin/wadm deploy-config --user=admin <hostname>
you might want to check out this for more info on how you could use <if> else condition to handle your requirement.
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-6599/gdaer?a=view
finally, you might want to refer to this doc - which explains on ws7 request processing overview. this should provide you with some pointers as to what these different directives mean
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-6599/gbysz?a=view
>
One customer said that it is not "tidy". They don't want the URL to change
right upon first rendering the page. They want the root page to be rendered
instantly i the first HTTP request.
please check out the rewrite / restart SAF. this should help you.
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-6599/gdada?a=view
pl. understand that - like with more web servers - ordering of directives is very important within obj.conf. so, you might want to make sure that you verify the obj.conf directive ordering is what you want it to do..
It seems that the reverse proxy (Service fn="service-passthrough") takes
only the $uri value which was originally requested by the browser. I didn't

it does indeed ask the backend server for an URI "/test" and that fails.
now, you are in the totally wrong direction. web server 7 includes a highly integrated reverse proxy solution compared to 6.1. unlike 6.1, you don´t have to download a separate plugin . however, you will need to manually migrate your 6.1 based reverse proxy settings into 7.0. please check out this blog link on how to set up a reverse proxy
http://blogs.sun.com/amit/entry/setting_up_a_reverse_proxy
feel free to post to us if you need any futher help
you are probably better off - starting fresh
- install ws7u4
- use gui or CLI to create a reverse proxy and map one on one - say content
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-6601/create-reverse-proxy-1?a=view
if you don´t plan on using ws7 integrated web container (ability to process jsp/servlet), then you could disable java support as well. this should reduce your server memory footprint
<install-root>/bin/wadm disable-java user=admin config=<hostname>
<install-root>/bin/wadm create-reverse-proxy user=admin uri-prefix=/content server=<http://your back end server/ config=<hostname> --vs=<hostname>
<install-root>/bin/wadm deploy-config --user=admin <hostname>
now, you can check out the regular express processing and <if> syntax from our docs and try it out within <https-<hostname>/config/<hostname>-obj.conf> file and restart the server. pl. note that once you disable java, ws7 admin server creates <vs>-obj.conf and you need to edit this file and not default obj.conf for your changes to be read by server.
>
I have also tried "restart"ing the request like this:
NameTrans fn="restart" uri="/data"
ordering is very important here... you need to do this some thing like

<If not $restarted>
NameTrans fn=restart uri from=/¨ uri=/foo.
</If>

• Dynamically loading the url of a web reference object in C#

Hi,
We have a number of assemblies (C# - VS 2010) that access third party web services via SOAP. The url to access the site is part of the web reference object.
We have need to be able to change the url used to access the service at run runtime when conditions require.
What would the be the best practice of dynamically setting the url to be used at run time?
Thanks in advance.
SanDegan99

You could specify the URLs as keys in the application configuration file (App.config or web.config) of the main application:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.configuration.configurationmanager.appsettings(v=vs.110).aspx
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa374182(v=vs.85).aspx
App.config:

<configuration>
<startup>
<supportedRuntime version="v4.0" sku=".NETFramework,Version=v4.5" />
</startup>
<appSettings>
<add key="url1" value="http://www.url.com/test.asmx"/>
</appSettings>
</configuration>
You can then retrieve these values using the ConfigurationManager class in any assembly that is referenced from the main application like this (add a reference to System.Configuration.dll):
string url = System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["url1"].ToString();
You can change the values of the keys in the application configuration file without having to recompile the application.
The other option is to specify the URLs in a database or some other persistent storage from which you read at runtime but configuration files are generally used to store these kind of variable application settings.

• Dynamic Webservice Target URL

I am using Crystal Reports for Eclipse to serve up some reports for my web application. Currently, I am using JDBC datasources in which I am changing the datasource at runtime in a CrystalReportViewer where I also set some report parameters for every report that passes thru it. However, I am now switching from JDBC datasources as my data provider to webservices. The webservices work perfectly during design time. However, in my report, I have to tell it that the webservice is located at http://localhost/. When I go to deploy these reports to production servers, I need to dynamically change the target URL to something like http://myproductionserver/ at runtime. I know this needs to take place in my CrystalReportViewer, but I can't figure out how to do it there. Can someone point me in the direction I need to be going?
Thanks in advance...

Ok. I've been making a little bit of progress with this. I have added "replaceConnection" on my database controller and am changing the URLs there. However, when I do that, I get an invalid argument exception.
Here is my replaceConnection code:
private void replaceConnection(DatabaseController dbController) throws ReportSDKException
ConnectionInfos connInfos = dbController.getConnectionInfos(null);
for(IConnectionInfo connInfo : connInfos)
PropertyBag pb = connInfo.getAttributes();
String newQEServer = connInfo.getAttributes().getStringValue("PreQEServerName").replace("localhost", "BJRKQJ1-SHAW");
String newServerName = connInfo.getAttributes().getStringValue("Server Name").replace("localhost", "BJRKQJ1-SHAW");
String newHttpWebserviceUrl = connInfo.getAttributes().getStringValue("Http WebService URL").replace("localhost", "BJRKQJ1-SHAW");
pb.put("PreQEServerName", newQEServer);
pb.put("Server Name", newServerName);
pb.put("Http WebService URL", newHttpWebserviceUrl);
dbController.replaceConnection(connInfo, connInfo, null, DBOptions._ignoreCurrentTableQualifiers + DBOptions._doNotVerifyDB);

• How can I dynamically change a Grids ro color

Hi,
I am using a grid within a component in my Flex application.
I have an XML dataProvider, and I want to change the row
colour of my Grid depending on a value coming form my dataProvider
– but I cant seem to get this to work :(
can anyone help / advise me on how I can dynamically change the
colour of my grid row depending on a value coming from my XML
DataProvider????
For example:
Within my component I have the following grid within an
“MXML” component called myGrid.mxml:
[CODE]<mx:Grid id="GGrid">

</mx:GridRow>
<mx:GridRow backgroundColor="0xCFD8DA">
<mx:GridItem>
<mx:Label id=”expiryDate_lbl”/>
</mx:GridItem>
</mx:GridRow>
<mx:GridRow id=”statusRow”>
<mx:GridItem>
<mx:Label id=”status_lbl”/>
</mx:GridItem>
</mx:GridRow>
</mx:Grid>[/CODE]
I am setting/declaring my results/variables form my
dataProvider in the main Application (“MXML”) file:

<mx:Application

Application.application.statusRow.backgroundColor="0xFF0000";

</mx:Application>[/CODE]
however, I cannot access the property
“backgroundColor” of the gridRow in this way:

As I get the following error:

Hi,
a few hours ago I stumbled across this cookbook entry - it
didn't solve MY problem, but maybe it provides a way to solve your
problem?
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/communityengine/index.cfm?event=showdetails&postId=61&product Id=2&loc=en_US
From the article:
quote:
Changing the background color of a DataGrid cell is not as
simple as changing some style because the default renderer for a
DataGrid cell does not have a backgroundColor. Therefore, to do
this simple task, you have to create a custom itemRenderer where
you draw your own background in the updateDisplayList function.

• How to dynamically change link in Page Viewer Web Part SharePoint 2010?

Newbie Question:
Situation:
a) Created: Two Site Pages page 1 & page 2
b) Page 1: Includes simple hyperlink text Example - Home | About Us | Contact etc
c) Page 2: Includes Page Viewer Web Part that includes link to an existing web site (this site has all of the pages) and the olde site is shown in SharePoint site
Complication:
a) I want the users to click on Page 1 - About Us etc
b) The View on Page 2 - page viewer link should be dynamically updated to About Us . If user clicks on contact us on Page 1..the page 2 view should change dynamically to Contact US
ASK:
a) How do I dynamically update the links in Page Viewer web part using minimal coding (if possible)
Any Guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
You can also used the another appoch,
Create your custom webpart , then add the PageViewer Webpart at run time,Create webpart property for the custom webpart to change the url and add the PageViewer webpart runtime,
I have created the custom webpart property to specified the url at the tine of edit the webpart

• Dynamically change the XML source of a report

I have seen that it is possible to assign an URL as the source for an XML source. But, how could I change this URL dynamically at run time? is it possible to add parameters to the url in the form of:
http://myserver/myapp/myjsp.jsp?myparameter=[some dynamic value}
so that calling the report will let me assign a value to the parameter?
Or at least, is there a way to send the URL the Report will use upon report invocation?
Thanks,
Fedro

Fedro,
The naswer is the same as you previous question:
Report using an XML Source
But if you want to create a complete URL be sure that you have a valid default value for the parameter.

• Change relative URL of segments for HLS-VOD

Simple Version:
Can I change the URL of the TS segments delivered by the hlshttp_module in any way, or is it always relative to the requested m3u8 URL?
Long Version:
To try and protect my content from being accessed by third parties I want to use mod-auth-token, with a client inserted token in the request for the variant m3u8, and a server generated token in the HLS m3u8.
My clients generate a token using a shared secret, and request the variant m3u8 from:
https://myserver/hls-manifest/<clienttoken>/<hextime>/path/to/folder/manifest.m3u8
This page is served dynamically (using php), and does not really have anything to do with FMS even though it is running in the same Apache instance. The m3u8 is generated with server tokens in the m3u8 URLs somethign like this:
#EXTM3U
#EXT-X-STREAM-INF:PROGRAM-ID=1,BANDWIDTH=10240000,CODECS="mp4a.40.2, avc1.42001f"
https://myserver/hls-vod/dc226454b9e39b9ffc44f9496505c70e/4ea6963f/path/to/folder/filename _1024k.mp4.m3u8
I have installed mod-auth-token, and configured it on a LocationMatch for "^/hld-vod/(.*)\.m3u8$". Everything up to this works perfectly, and I can request both m3u8 playlists successfully. The problem is that the content of the m3u8 (the ts fragment URLs) are relative to the URL of the m3u8.
#EXTM3U
#EXT-X-MEDIA-SEQUENCE:0
#EXT-X-ALLOW-CACHE:NO
#EXT-X-VERSION:2
#EXT-X-KEY:METHOD=AES-128,URI="https://myserver/hls-key/vodkey.bin",IV=0X560417e9155f2f2cb1fb9410397db72e
#EXT-X-TARGETDURATION:10
#EXTINF:10,
filename_1024k.mp4Frag1Num0.ts
The player is attempting to request files from:
https://myserver/hls-vod/dc226454b9e39b9ffc44f9496505c70e/4ea6963f/path/to/folder/filename _1024k.mp4Frag1Num0.ts
I want this to look more like this:
https://myserver/hls-vod/path/to/folder/filename_1024k.mp4Frag1Num0.ts
or even this:
http://mycacheserver/hls-vod/path/to/folder/filename_1024k.mp4Frag1Num0.ts
So the m3u8 needs to look more like this:
#EXT-X-TARGETDURATION:10
#EXTINF:10,
http://mycacheserver/hls-vod/path/to/folder/filename_1024k.mp4Frag1Num0.ts
I can think of lost of placeswhere this would have useful applications. There does not appear to be anything in the Developer documents which would help here. Does anybody have a suggestion for something I can try?

Hi Michael,
Thanks for using FMS 4.5 and its new features.
However, there is no way to not to put relative urls for the ts files. However, you might like to do either Apache's "URL rewriting rules" or redirection . For rewriting rules, you might check http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/misc/rewriteguide.html
Though, you may suffer in caching benefits. Here, if the id that you have inserted is on per client basis, you may not get the caching benefits on the caching server as it will always caching on basis of
https://myserver/hls-vod/dc226454b9e39b9ffc44f9496505c70e/4ea6963f/pat h/to/folder/filename_1024k.mp4Frag1Num0.ts
while, if you use client side redirect something like
redirect 301 url1 url2
it may help. You might consider other similar solutions for example, client redirect on proxy servers etc.. just be ware of caching in your case (if applicable)

• Dynamically set database url using tomcat jndi

By using Tomcat JNDI, database url information needs to be hardcoded in server.xml file according to the documentation. Is there a way to change the URL information in the code dynamically if necessary?
And also we need multiple connection pools and the connection information about those pools are only known during run time. So the TOMCAT JNDI is still the right way to go???
By the way, does anybody ever use tomcat DBCP package to get datasource and set url dynamically?
Thanks in advance.

I think so. Since it's just a JDNI lookup, perhaps you can set up multiple data sources and decide on the lookup name at the last minute, depending on circumstances. That might work. I haven't tried it myself. - MOD

• Best Practice: Dynamically changing Item-Level permissions?

Hi all,
Can you share your opinion on the best practice for Dynamically changing item permissions?
For example, given this scenario:
Item Creator can create an initial item.
After item creator creates, the item becomes read-only for him. Other users can create, but they can only see their own entries (Created by).
At any point in time, other users can be given Read access (or any other access) by an Administrator to a specific item.
The item is then given edit permission to a Reviewer and Approver. Reviewers can only edit, and Approvers can only approve.
After the item has been reviewed, the item becomes read-only to everyone.
I read that there is only a specific number of unique permissions for a List / Library before performance issues start to set in. Given the requirements above, it looks like item-level permission is unavoidable.
Do you have certain ideas how best to go with this?
Thank you!

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to change item level permission.
There is no out of the box way to accomplish this with SharePoint.
You can create a custom permission level using Visual Studio to allow users to add & view items, but not edit permission.
Then create a group with the custom permission level. The users in this group would have the permission of create & add permission, but they could no edit the item.
In the CodePlex, there is a custom workflow activities, but by default it only have four permission level:
Full Control , Design ,Contribute and Read.
You should also customize some permission levels for your scenario.
What’s more, when use the SharePoint 2013 designer, you should only use the 2010 platform to create the workflow using this activities,

• How to change the URL of a URL-iView over Code ?

Hi all,
i am getting started with the Portal-Application-Developement and want to change the URL of an URL-iView on runtime with java-code.
i have read the context and can get the Property url with this statement.
endContext.getProfile().getProperty("url")
But if i change this property, nothing is done.
endContext.getProfile().setProperty("url", "http://www.yahoo.com");
Where is my fault.
Thanks for help.
Regards Jürgen

Hi,
the context is of Type IPortalComponentContext.
I cant find no method getParameter() at the context or the profile.
The methods to read the properties of the URL-iView are
context.getProfile().getProperty("url")
context.getProfile().getAttributeValue("url")
But if i want to set (change) this attribute, nothing is done.
Regards Jürgen

• How to Change attachment URL on a Purchase Req?

Attachments in the EBP shopping carts are transferred to an ITS server and are linked to a back end R/3 Purchase Requisition.
Note that the attachments are physically stored on ITS server and the link (URL) to the attachment and Purchase Req is stored in SAP.
As a part of decommissioning, the server which was used for storing attachments is replaced with a new server and all the attachments are moved to new server.
Since the link associated to the Purchase Req and attachment is not changed, when user is trying to open the Purchase Req attachment, it is not displaying becuase all the attachments are moved to new server.
How to change the link (URL) in the Purchase Req so that it will point out to the new server instead of old server.
Due to the following reasons manually changing the URL is not advisable.
1) 40,000 attachments link need to be changed.
2) System is not allowing to change the URL manually because of the user differences. All the attachment links are attached to Purchase Reqs by RFC user (since these are transferred from EBP environment).
Please advise what should be the feasible solution to change the URL (link) on the Purchase Req so that business can open the attachment with no issues.
Thanks in advance

According to SAP, since purchase order is a legal document they do not support the process of changing document number. They suggested I do the change with debug and replace at my own risk. In ME22N go to debug and type MEPO_TOPLINE-BEDAT. The values for this field show up as 29991231 that should be changed to 20191231 and press F8, then save the purchase order.
