Dynamic Converter Not Returning HTML

Hi,
I'm trying to call get_dynamic_conversion service using RIDC on a word document to convert it to HTML. However, the service is not returning HTML but instead hda that starts as follows:
<?hda version="11gR1-11.1.1.4.0-idcprod1-101229T001824" jcharset=UTF8 encoding=utf-8?>
@Properties LocalData
computedTemplateName=
FileFormat=application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document
RIDC Call:
IdcClientManager manager = new IdcClientManager();
IdcClient idcClient = manager.createClient("idc://localhost:4444");
IdcContext userContext = new IdcContext("weblogic");
DataBinder binder = idcClient.createBinder();
binder.putLocal ("IdcService", "GET_DYNAMIC_CONVERSION");
binder.putLocal ("dDocName", dDocName);
binder.putLocal ("RevisionSelectionMethod", "LatestReleased");
ServiceResponse respuesta = idcClient.sendRequest (userContext, binder);
String html = respuesta.getResponseAsString();
I can see the content item is been converted to HTML in the UCM and labelled as "Get Conversion". I'm also getting the html output when I access the content item as follows in the browser but in the application via RIDC.
http://localhost:16200/cs/idcplg?IdcService=GET_DYNAMIC_CONVERSION&RevisionSelectionMethod=LatestReleased&dDocName=xxx_002
Thanks,
Raj

Hi
IdcService", "GET_DYNAMIC_CONVERSION need to be accompanied by the dID of the content that has to be HTML formatted .
Thanks

  • How to dynamically convert the return  datatype of a procedure

    Hi ,
    I want to write a procedure which will take two argument.
    one will be string and another one will be a out variable having dynamic return type based on the data in first passing parameter.
    Description:
    let suppose i have one table which has 3 column
    1.String_col1 varchar2 (it will contain String combination of alphabets,numbers)
    2.number_col2 varchar2 (it will contain numbers only)
    3.date_col3 varchar2 (it will contain DATE)
    All columns are having varchar2 as their datatype.(in sort all are String).
    now i want to write a procedure which will convert the datatype of all the three columns into their respective datatypes i.e.
    1.String_col1 varchar2
    2.number_col2 number
    3.date_col3 date
    Note:I am passing only 1 column in procedure as IN parameter.I dont want to convert 1 row in their respective datatype.
    Please let me know if you want any more information from my side.

    I'm pretty sure that isn't possible.
    What you could do is write a function to determine the datatype of the input, and use the return value of that function in either a decode or case statement to determine which of 3 explicitly defined functions to use.

  • Dynamic Prompt not returning all values it should

    I am using Crystal Report 2008 CR Developer with service pack 3.1.
    I have a report that has a SQL command statement.
    Using just the SQL statement, I get all results correctly (all "Events" show up).
    When I use the same report and create a dynamic prompt for the "Events", I get some of the values in the results, but not all of them.
    Also, the Events that I do get back in my results change randomly (one time I get Court Trial, the next time I don't).
    The u201CEventsu201D field is the 2nd Group in the report.
    I also have a date time parameter in the report.
    The only thing Iu2019ve found so far related to this is the Max Rowset issue.
    I have used the registry fix to set the LOV value to 3000, even though there are only 1644  possible values for that particular field in the database. I changed it for all versions 11, 11.5 & 12.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV  "MaxRowsetRecords"="3000"
    My understanding of Dynamic Prompts is that each time the report is run, it first looks at all possible values in that field and return those as values to select in the prompt. For example, if there were 1644 values in the table, it would show 1644 values to select in the parameter to be used in the report. Is that regardless of group level or date parameter or if "Save Data with Report" is selected?
    Any ideas on why my parameters are not pulling the correct list of values to select for use in the report?

    Try connecting to the database directly rather than using a command object.
    Or... purchase a case and have a dedicated support engineer work with you directly:

    Hi Srinath,
    I have tried your response. Still i am getting hda data only, not HTML content.
    GET_DYNAMIC_URL service with fileUrl attribute is returning HTML content from UCM GUI (browser) but not from RIDC.
    Code i tried is:
    DataBinder dataBinder = idcClient.createBinder();
              dataBinder.putLocal("IdcService", "GET_DYNAMIC_CONVERSION");
              //dataBinder.putLocal("dID","1832");
              dataBinder.putLocal("dDocName","ECMPS5_002024");
              dataBinder.putLocal("IsJava","0");
              dataBinder.putLocal("RevisionSelectionMethod","LatestReleased");
              dataBinder.putLocal("DCViewFormat","WebViewable");
              // execute the request
              ServiceResponse response = idcClient.sendRequest (userPasswordContext, dataBinder);
    InputStream istream=response.getResponseStream();
    InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(istream);
    BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(isr);
    String line = null;
    while ( (line = br.readLine()) != null)
    System.out.println(line);
    }

    I found an error in the font paths. I also add /idc/server/shared/os/linux/jdk1.5.0_11/jre/lib/fonts to the path. I restarted the idc server, and now the HTML Rendition appears to be working.

  • Acrobat 9- convert pdf to html, not retaining format as original pdf.

    I'm needing to upload a completed irs form to my website. I have the pdf, but when i export or save as an html file, the image looks different. It is not retaining the original look/format of the pdf form.
    Alternatively, is there a way to export multiple pages into one single jpg, png or tiff file? my document is 34 pages.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Amy

    HTML by its very nature has a varying format to meet the needs of the browser and screen. It should never be expected to see the same format when converting to HTML. Actually I am surprised you could even convert it to HTML since most IRS forms are secure and do not allow such operations. If you want to post it to your site for some reason, just post the PDF file itself.

  • Dynamic Converter problem - Preview not available

    Hi All,
    I have a problem with Dynamic Converter.
    After choosing to edit a particular template and then trying to preview a certain content item, a message is passed saying "Preview is not available". The strange thing is that we are running two different environments where the function is working fine on the other one.
    Any suggestions regarding this?
    Note: We are running 10gR3 with Dynamic Converter 8.1.0.754
    thanks in advance!

    The obvious question is: are you sure you're previewing a content item that's "convertible" and also exists?
    The template editor only remembers the last content ID you picked. So if you pick item A for environment X and then B for environment Z, the editor will always load up B the next time you open up the editor. So if you edit the template in X again, and B doesn't exist in X, you'll get that error.
    Don't know if your problem is as simple as that though. We're running DC 8.1.0.735 and don't get any preview errors outside of the scenarios I listed above.
    Good luck.

  • How to get Dynamic Converter URL

    Hi all
    I need to get dynamic converter url of document like http://<localhost>:<port>/cs/idcplg?IdcService=GET_DYNAMIC_CONVERSION&dID=7411.
    I use DOC_INFO_BY_NAME and i can find document url using 'DocUrl'. But i cannot find anything about dynamic converter.
    How can i get the url just using RIDC?
    Best Regards
    Qian

    Hi ,
    Whether i can get which format will be converted(convert format in Dynamic Converter Admin Configuration Setting) ?
    This is applicable for the UI alone where in all the formats that you want to have "HTML" option shown will be added from the above option .
    As for getting Dynamic Conversion using the IdcService , all of the contents can be used irrespective of whether they are added in the DC Admin section or not . So if you want to show the HTML format then all you need to do is to call the GET_DYNAMIC_CONVERSION service and pass the dID of the respective contents .
    Thanks,
    Srinath

  • Authorization issue with Dynamic Converter

    We have configured the Dynamic Converter to immediately translate documents to HTML when checked in.
    We have created a security group, and the Guest role has read access to that group.
    When we make a call from our Web App to the translated page (using a HTTP Get request), we are prompted for a userid and password, when we think it should not.
    Anyone any ideas on how we can get around this issue, or if anyone has seen this problem before.
    Thanks.

    Hi, thanks for the reply.
    We are not using accounts.
    I have given read access to guest for all security groups and I still get the pop up asking me to log in. The only content being loaded is from word documents. This is the error I get if I cancel the login:
    Welcome to Stellent
    Unable to get dynamic conversion. System needs login authentication credentials.
    When we use the "web location" as opposed to the "get content" link it works fine with no login required for the same document.

    Hi,
    In SharePoint Online 2013, we can use jQuery to convert “&lt”  to “<” and  convert “&gt” to “>”.
    The following code for your reference:
    <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.10.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $(function () {
    $(".ms-rtestate-field").each(function(){
    var $this = $(this).find("p");
    if ($this.length>0) {
    $this.each(function(){
    $(this).html($(this).html().replace('&lt;', '<').replace('&gt;', '>'));
    </script>
    We can also use JSLink to customize the display view.

  • Help: dynamic converter

    hi, expert stellent users,
    im new to oracle ucm,
    i already installed content server 10gr3 on windows 2003
    and i want to test the functionality of dynamic converter component.
    i already enabled the component and restarting content server and web server,
    but when click on context menu on some content,
    there is no link for "html rendition" as is described in the dynamic converter docs.
    and please can someone give me simple step by step guide,
    to test this feature. the scenario is that i've a word document
    and want to convert it to html.
    here's my proposed steps, correct if im wrong:
    -install a dc template, there's some samples there, but which file i should use, and how do i entered it to the system
    -making a rule for coversion mapping (is this needed ? )
    -check in a sample word document
    -preview the html version
    can someone help me with the detail steps
    thank you in advance.

    thanks jstortz for your explanation,
    i also have configured how to do it
    i hope this helps anyone who may have the same problem.
    enabling dynamic converter 10gR3:
    -install dc converter component using component wizard
    -enable it
    -restart content and web server
    -login to idc using sysadmin
    -go to adminstration > dc admin
    -check in existing template:
    select samples from [csinstall] folder: eg: C:\oracle\ucm\server\custom\DynamicConverter\samples
    note that you need to upload 2 type of template: GUI template and Layout template
    -go to template selection rules
    add new rule,
    set matching criteria based on file type
    and set the gui template and layout template using templates that previously checked in before.
    -go to dc configuration settings
    on conversion formats field: select file types (separated by comma) that
    you would like to enable dc with (this will set the "html rendition" feature enabled on that file).
    done..

  • HTMLBody property occasionally returns HTML with no BODY

    Hi,
    We have an application that can store away .MSG files saved out previously from Outlook. This program allows the user to reply to these emails and, as part of this, gets Outlook to open the message so that it can extract information. It does this using the
    CreateItemFromTemplate() method:
    item = outlook.CreateItemFromTemplate(file_path)
    The problem is that, for some .MSG files, when we access item.HTMLBody property we get back html with no <BODY>, except for a comment:
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <META NAME="Generator" CONTENT="MS Exchange Server version 14.02.5004.000">
    <TITLE></TITLE>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <!-- Converted from text/plain format -->
    </BODY>
    </HTML>
    Now this email does contain text which you can see if you look at the original email in Outlook, and I would expect the above code to always return HTML, converted if necessary, but this doesn't appear to be the case.
    This might be considered 'normal' behaviour, but it doesn't happen for me if I drag back one of these MSG files from the customer site to my development PC and try it here...So why would Outlook behave differently (and can it be fixed)?

    MAPI_E_NOT_ENOUGH_MEMORY in the GetProps tab is perfectly fine.  What are the contents of these properties when you actually select them?

    Redemption - what the Outlook
    Object Model should have been
    Version 5.5 is now available!
    Yes, I figured that the MAPI_E_NOT_ENOUGH_MEMORY is not an issue itself. The contents of these properties appear to be ok when viewed in Outlook Spy. However, as stated, our software uses Outlook OLE to get the HTMLBody / Body of a MSG file, and that's where
    it goes wrong by not returning the text correctly (if at all). I'm just guessing that there is a connection between this Outlook OLE issue and the MAPI_E_NOT_ENOUGH_MEMORY value you see via Outlook Spy.
