Dynamic Reconfiguration on a schedule

We have an M5000, 8 CPUs and 64GB memory. We are testing it with two applications that have very different usage patterns. App A is very busy during the day, App B does it's processing at night. We would like to set up 2 domains and have 7 XSBs dedicated to App A and 1 XSB to App B, then automatically switch 6 of the XSBs to App B at some point during the evening.
Can this be scripted using RCM? Is it possible to do this?
Thanks in advance.

Brian, I cannot find that note either, try posting your question in the APEX forum, this forum is for Oracle Portal questions.

  • CST and Dynamic Reconfiguration

    I have installed the Configuration and Service Tracker add on for SMC 3.0 update 4. Works great except for systems that support Dynamic Reconfiguration. These boxes sporadically send CST alerts that a hardware change has been made. The comment is Dynamic reconfiguration changes. Is there something I'm missing? I cant see anyplace to set this in the CST console

  • Support for Memory Dynamic Reconfiguration Capability

    Hi,
    one of the exiting new features of the new Solaris release is "Memory Dynamic Reconfiguration Capability" for logical domains.
    but , will it work with ldom manager 1.3 or do we have to wait for a new release of ldom manager ( and firmware maybe ? ) to support it?
    if so - is the new release going to be release soon ?
    thanks in advance,
    Ori

    I, too, saw the announcement for Solaris 10 9/10 and the comments about ldm 2.0 but have not seen any comments on any of the support forums. I wonder if we lost the interest of Oracle and need to find a new source for ldm information.
    have a good day,
    Glen

  • How to audit Dynamically Reconfigured domains?

    Hi,
    I hope someone can help me.
    Is there a way to know when domains have been added or removed using dynamic reconfiguration (DR)?
    Is there a Log File or a record of performance changes that will indicate when/ if DR has been done?
    Thank you so much in advance,

  • MMCM ISERDESE1 IODELAYE1 dynamic reconfiguration

    Hello,
    Is there a way to dynamically reconfigure parameters (generics) of an MMCM, ISERDESE1, and IODELAYE1 for Virtex 6 FPGA. Meaning, there are many parameters that can be set in the HDL. If I assign a register to modify these parameters at run-time rather than at compile time, is that possible?
    For example what I want to do is change the taps of IODELAYE1 of Virtex 6. There are 64 taps for input delay and output delay. I want to change the taps for input delay on the fly without having to re-compile the code over and over again.
    Thanks

    You have to read the user guides for these devices. The answer for most things is "yes", but the mechanism is pretty different for each device (and few of them are done the way you describe).
    The IDELAY  and ODELAY have mechanisms for dynamically adjusting the tap settings. Depending on the architecture (V4/V5/V6/7 series, and even in its own bizarre way S6), you can increment or decrement the tap settings by one count at a time on the fly (every couple of clocks). In the later ones (including V6)  you can also force a parallel reload of the tap values by providing a 5 bit value for the tap setting. These are all documented in the I/O User Guide for your device. Also, in the V6 there are only 32 taps available (not 64, as you say in your message).  See UG361 for an entire section on the IODELAY.
    For the MMCM it depends on what you want to adjust. There is a single adjustable phase shifter that can be incremented/decremented in a similar manner to the IDELAY. See the "Dynamic Phase Shift Interface" in UG362.
    Other values of the MMCM can be reprogrammed, but to do that you need to use the Dynamic Reconfiguration Port (DRP) of the DCM. This requires you to implement a small controller to address the registers within the MMCM to change the values, which can be fairly complex to do. You also need to reset the MMCM after using the DRP to allow it to re-lock (so it can't be done "live").

  • Cascade 2 PLL_ADV in spartan-6 FPGA and dynamic reconfigure

    Can I cascade 2 PLL_ADV in spartan-6(XC6SLX25T) FPGA  and dynamic reconfigure them?

    Hi, , Of course the two PLL_ADV meet the requirements for VCO frequency. The output of first PLL_ADV connect to a BUFG and then to the CLKIN of the second PLL_ADV.
    You mean that if change the first PLL_ADV output with dynamic reconfigure, I must reset the second PLL_ADV and then dynamic reconfigure it ?

  • Dynamic Variant in Download Scheduler

    Dear All,
             I am using BEx download Scheduler and reporting agent to schedule a report. The report asks for 2 input Values 0netduedate and 0calmonth. I give these 2 inputs in a variant and schedule the report.The Report gets run at the scheduled time everyday but it uses the same variant. I want the 0netduedate to reflect the current date. Currently although I use 0P_KEYDT (keyduedate) as variable for 0netduedate which is sy-datum , the report gets scheduled for the date I scheduled it on even the next day. The date doesn't change to the present date.Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem? Is it possible to make a variant with dynamic date input?
    Regards,
    Ratish

    it's buried in there
    this thread may help if you need to define custom variables
    Re: CASH SALES
    you'll see it under the variant attributes screen.  i know people get reluctant to choose something from a grayed out field but you will be able to choose a selection variable and then the name of the variable
    so for a date field you could choose say D and Previous Month

  • Reports Server - dynamic reconfiguration needed for long-running reports

    We have a need to permit users to submit large reports via scheduler from the hours of 8 pm to 2 am.
    These reports currently fail due to the daytime configuration limits on the row count and the elapsed time.
    I guess effectively we need to stop, change the config, and restart the reporting servers to expand the day-time row and elapsed time limits that are imposed.
    Can this be done thru the CMC API or is there a better way to accomodate this need via Powerscript or some other mechanism ?

    Hi,
    these Groups are virtual. You dont need any additional Hardware. The callenge here would be that you cant switch them on or off. If they activated they are activated.
    The only thing i could imagine would be custom code which enables the servers and disable the servers. This would be customization, no default options are here available.

  • Dynamic Job Name from Scheduler

    Hi,
    I am newbie to BIP and have couple of questions about scheduling reports
    Is it possible to configure the name of the report output and email as an attachment? -- e.g. 12345_033110081010.pdf
    In bursting report, is it possible to name each busted report output file and email each burst report separately?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Marshal,
           You can add a extra node to your target strucutre like
    FileName- Node
    --FileName - Element.
    do the mapping from the field filename of RFC to FileName field in u r target strucure. And use this  field path at Refrence in variable subtituion.
    In the Content converison add the Name & Values as below
    FileName.fileldNames -- FileName
    FileName.fieldFixedLengths -- 0
    FileName.fixedLengthTooShortHandling -- Cut
    So the extra field in u r target structure would not populate in u r target text file.

    I have a some paragraphs in some documents that I want to

  • Utilisation Dynamic Reconfiguration on M4000

    Hi
    We have added CPU and Memory in our M4000, and these component have added to
    domain 0.
    Now we want to move these component to domain 1 or put it in "reserve".
    Can you explain me how to do this operation ?
    It's not me who has installed the domain 0 and I never use the DR command in XSCF.
    I have attached a file containing the result of commands
    showhardconf -M
    version -c cmu -v
    showdcl -v -a
    I see that domain 1 is created but there is nothing on it. The new CPU are in
    the server and are affected and used by domain 0.
    If I well understand, I need to move from domain 0 to domain 1 these
    components :
    CPUM#1-CHIP#0
    CPUM#1-CHIP#1
    MEMB#2
    MEMB#3
    Is it correct ?
    Can you help me to make these operations ?

    Hi.
    Some usefull links:

    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19855-01/821-2796-11/821-2796-11.pdf
    Not clear what you want as result ( create new domain or just disable some components).
    For Servers M-series smallest part for DR or Domain is XSB.
    XSB must include : CPU, Memory, IO.
    For M4000 2 domain's can be created only at case you configure XSF at quad-mode.
    ( At this moment it't look like you have Uniboard mode)
    After this you will have next XSB:
    ( http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19855-01/E21618/E21618.pdf
    Table 4-2 page 58 )
    00-0 CPUM#0-CHIP#0 MEMB#0 Disks; GbE; PCI#0, PCI#1, PCI#2
    00-1 CPUM#0-CHIP#1 MEMB#1 PCI#3, PCI#4
    00-2 CPUM#1-CHIP#0 MEMB#2 None
    00-3 CPUM#1-CHIP#1 MEMB#3 None
    You have phisical installed:
    CPUM#1 ; CPUM#2 ; MEMB0 - MEMB3 ; FC Card at slot PCI3 ; PCI4.
    So it look like you can't create second domain with network interfaces.
    You can just limit some resources for Domain 0.
    Last docs provide some examples and step by step instructions for configure domain.

    Nikolay.

  • Dynamic Reconfiguration

    Hi,
    When a node in a RAC crashes, it is told that the GRD portion of this node is re-distributed among the surviving nodes.
    But is there any place this GRD info is backed up so that it can be re-distributed ?
    Thx.

    It's not backed up in entirety. Each node in the cluster would know, on which node a given block is mastered. If a node on which a given block is mastered crashes, the other node knows that the block was mastered on the departing node and would remaster it.

  • How to Pass parameter to Custom Scheduler dynamically

    hi ,
    I am new to OIM.
    Need your help in passing parameters dynamically to Custom Scheduler.
    I have created Custom Scheduler by extending Task Support.
    I have registered the plugin through API , using PlatformService.registerPlugin() method.
    As I need to send the parameter(s) to this CustomScheduler, I have defined them in Metadata (CustomScheduleTask.xml) file as below and got it imported into DB
    through weblogicImportMetadata.sh script by providing the path of the file.
    <scheduledTasks xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oim/scheduler">
    <task>
    <name>CustomScheduleTask</name>
    <class>org.schedule.custom.task.CustomScheduleTask</class>
    <description>Fetch details of the given user_id</description>
    <retry>5</retry>
    <parameters>
    <string-param required="true" helpText="Login Name">Login Name</string-param>
    </parameters>
    </task>
    </scheduledTasks>
    Iam able to import this plugin as well as register the plugin successfully. Now I have defined a job to which this Custom SchedulerTask is mapped.
    Now in order to run this job(schedule task) I need to provide Login name( or id) which needs to be send as a parameter for the scheduler to get executed.
    But while defining the job with this Schedule Task on OIM console, I was not able to define or pass parameter to this job. hence parameter is null in
    CustomSchedule 's execute method .
    Kindly help me how to pass parameter dynamically while running the scheduler from OIM console so that the execute method would be able to receive it.
    Thank you in Advance.
    Regards,
    Kumar

    Hi,
    When you have created the schedule job for your custom schedule task, you should see your Login Name textfield in the schedule task. If not, then there verify your schedule task xml.
    In your schedule class code, add:
    public void execute(HashMap arg0) {
              final String METHOD_NAME = "execute :: ";
              logger.debug(CLASS_NAME + METHOD_NAME + "Entering Method - execute");
              try {
                   String LoginName = arg0.get("Login Name");
    Regards,
    Sunny

  • Can't Personalize a Publication schedule with Dynamic Recipients

    Crystal Reports Server 2008 V1
    I am trying to create a publication that will run a crystal report for each of my customers individually. I created a separate crystal report to pull all the customer object IDs from my database that I want to use in the publication. I am having trouble scheduling the publication to run for all of my dynamic recipients once I have the publication created. I take the following steps to create my publication:
    1.     General Properties: I enter a title
    2.     Source Documents: I add the crystal report that I want run for each one of my customers individually.
    3.     Dynamic Recipients: I select my crystal reports instance which contains a column with each of the customer IDs I want the main report run for. I select the customer ID column as the Recipient Identifier and the customer name column as the Full Name.
    4.     Personalization: I set the CUSTOMER parameter of the report I want run to the Dynamic Recipient Mapping of customer ID from my dynamic recipient report.
    5.     Formats: Set it to Excel
    6.     Destination: a directory on my file system
    7.     Additional Options => Advanced: Report Bursting method is set to One database fetch per recipient.
    8.     I save and close the publication.
    Now I right click the publication I just created and click Schedule. This is where I am confused. In the schedule options there is a section for Parameter but not for Personalization. If I try to run the publication without touching the Parameters section I get this error: Failed to retrieve data from the database. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 936 ] (FBE60502) [33 recipients processed.]
    It says it tried to process 33 recipients (customers) but failed to retrieved data from the database. It failed to retrieve data from the data because I did enter a parameter when I scheduled the report.
    I have also tried scheduling the publications with a parameter entered and it only runs a single report for that single customer I entered in the parameters section.
    How to a schedule my publication to run for each one of my dynamic recipients individually?

    I understand you need that parameter to get the correct data for each recipient. However the parameter should be 'answered' as part of the setup of personalization. You could try to create a simple report with sections using that ID as a section. Match that ID with the CR containing the dynamic recipient IDs and schedule that report. I would expect you get a single report for each ID. The parameter value should be included as part of your dynamic recipients report!.
    Hope this helps...

  • RFC to XI scheduling problem

    Hello,
    I send delivery from R\3 to FTP.
    In the R\3 system the  deliveries number create consequential,
    Delivery number 1003 came before delivery number 1004 and so on  (not always serial, for example 998, 1003, 1004, 1017 and so on)
    To XI system the deliveries came in the wrong order (for example 1017, 1003, 1004, 998 and so on).
    Do you have any idea about this problem?
    Thanking you in advance
