Dynamically assigning digital signature strategy

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement where I need to dynamically assign different signature strategy to document approval based on the number of approvers.
In our case for the same document based on the level of changes number of approvers might be different ( 3 - 12). We are planning to achive this by allowing document owners to select the approver using a approval workflow
I also know that there is a limition of 8 approver slots on the default signature strategy.
Please advise what is the best strategy in this case.
Thank You
Regi

Hi,
You can refer Note 700495 for digital signatures.
Thank You,

  • Problem with Digital Signature strategy in Document Managment System

    Hello ALL,
I am facing problem with Digital Signature strategy in DMS. If any help its greatly appreciated.
I have senario where Approvers in DMS will review the document and approve the document and put on their digitial signature. if i have multiple approvers maintained in the characterstics it has to check weather it has been approved by all approvers otherwise it has to reset the status to for approval.
My problem is i am able to reset the status back from approved to for approval using the badi document_status01 but when the next approver logs in to the document and change the status to approved he is not able to get the digital signature pop up which it comes only first user approves it.
can any one help me out on whats going wrong in it.
    Thanks
    Srikanth Aduri.

    Hi,
maybe the reason for this is that the status of the digital signature is not changed. Then the system thinks that the digital signature is still completed and therefore the user is not getting the pop-up again. The database table for the digital signature for documents is TC77. I hope this information is usefull for you.

  • Implementing Digital Signature Strategy In Adobe Forms

    Hi Everyone,
I need to know how to implement Digital Signatures with the use of Signature Strategy in my ECC 6.0 system..
Here is what i've done already,
    1) Created a signature strategy with user authentication and registered the Signature Object in TA_SIGNO according to the document below.
    2) I have Adobe Acrobat 9.0 already.
    3) Now, Ive added a Document Signature Field in my Adobe Form Layout too.
    4) How to implement the Signature strategy i've created in this Adobe Form ???????????
    Kindly share your ideas.

  • Digital Signature Strategy for Documents

    Hi Experts,
We are trying to setup document signature strategy in our workplace. On the configuration part, we have followed all the requisite steps.Have defined Authorization group, individual signatures, signature strategy definition and sequence, user restrictions etc. However, we are still unable to execute the strategy. Please guide.

    Hi James,
The configuration steps seem to be in line.
Propose you revisit and check if you entered both the first name and last names of the users for whom the signature strategy is to be enabled. Once done, you must be in a position to execute it without any hitches Do revert if the issue still persists.

  • Digital Signatures in PI sheets

    Hi Guys;
Can anyone explain how to assign Digital Signatures to PI sheets & what are the settings required.
    Thanks in Advance;
    Rajesh

    Hi,
For Including Digital Signature in Browser Based PI Sheet You have to configure below mention Steps,
    1) Authourisation Gourps
    2) Define Individual Signatures
    3) Signature Strategy
    Path For Above is
SPRO -> Production Planing for Process Industries> Process Management -> Contorl Recipe/PI SHeet-> Digital Signatures.
Now creating Signature Strategy you have to assgin that Strategy in your Process instruction Catagory followed by Process Massage Characteristic PPPI_SIGNATURE.
Kindly followed The Below Link it will helpful to you for configuring Digital Signature,

  • Digital Signature tool to Embed Approver signature on PDF Original Files

    Hi,
    Good Day...!
We have implemented SAP DMS and configured workflow for DMS. When it reaches certain status workflow will be triggered and send workitem to the Approver. If approver can approve or reject based on his review on the original document. If he approves DIR will directly go to released status. Once Approver approves Digital signature has to popup and it has to embed approvers signature on the Original file.
Is there any third party tools available in the market or can any body provide some inputs how to achieve.
Please share your experience, if anybody has implemented the same.
All original files we are using will be in PDF format.
Note: Our requirement is Approver's signature has to embed on to the Original file when he approves the document.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Prasad.

    Hi,
Please find details on digital signature in DMS
    Prerequisite
1)You must have Authorization object {}C_SIGN_BGR to be set (ask basis team to do the same) for the digital signature.
2)Following  are the authorization object for Documents (If you have all access to the authorization object will be very good, mainly a & b must).
    a) C_DRAW_TCD
    b) C_DRAW_TCS
    c) C_DRAW_STA
    d) C_DRAW_BGR
    e) C_DRAW_DOK
    f) C_DRAD_OBJ
How to config for Digital Signature in DMS
The required settings are made under
           a)Document Management ->Approval?->Define individual Signature .
           b)Document Management ->Approval?->Define Signature strategy .
    2.   Assign a signature strategy to the document status .
    3.   Also the required settings are made in customizing under
Document Management - Control data - Define Document Types (DC10) - Define document status.
Assign a signature strategy to the document status (As per point no.1 in sign start).
    4.  Save the changes.
    5.  Create DIR
    6.  In DIR once the Document status is set for required digital signature, the system informs you that a digital signature is required. Yellow warning will come, enter two times.
    7.  The Digital Signature dialog box appears. Enter your comment in the text field. Select the individual signature that is assigned to your authorization group in the Signatures to be              executed section and enter the password .Then save it again.6) you can see this digital signaure again, in cv03n, go to top menu Environment --> digital signature.  You will get all the details.
Thus the Digital signature process has been completed.
With help of Transaction code SU01 ,in user tab enter your user name and press F7 check first and last name if it is correct its well and good or else go to change mode and enter correct one, save it.Because while making digital signature using user ID and password it is must or else it will give an error.
Additionally check the help link for more details.

  • Digital Signature in SAP DMS

    Hello,
We want to implement digital signatures in SAP DMS, but we're not sure on how to accomplish it. We have the following scenario:
    1. All the users have a digital certificate which is part of the Portuguese ID card;
    2. Currently we're all using this certificate to digitally sign e-mails (they use their laptops integrated card reader), for example;
    3. We also want to use this certificate to sign DMS documents.
Do you think the above mentioned scenario is possible without licensing additional software? If so, can you guide me through the customization steps?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards,
    Ricardo

    Hi Ricardo,
It is quite possible to achieve your requirements using the digital signature strategy available in SAP DMS. I have previoulsy answered the steps involved [here|Digital Signature on Original File; and you may additionally look up [Wiki|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/PLM/Digitalsignaturein+DMS] and [SAP Help|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/9f/857f3a1c7b11d294d200a0c92f024a/frameset.htm] as well.
In your case, more specifically, you need to adopt the signature method during customization as 'User signature with external security product with/without verification' for which your I-Card reader would also be required.

  • Print Digital Signature

    Hi Experts,
I've setup the digital signature for certain document types. Now when I print those signed document, am not able to get the approver's signature on print out.
From the SAP Help I found below link and it says that I've setup ' allowed' or 'possible' option for Document Display in Digital Signature Strategy.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm71_sp01/helpdata/en/45/f0f4a900b404abe10000000a114a6b/content.htm
I tried both the options and still not able to see digital signature during the print out or document display.
In the Help (above link) it also says that
"The document display and print option are not available to the signee if the forbidden option is set in the system table for the entire application."
Where can I find the System Table to remove the forbidden entry for the application?
Do I need to setup anything else to enable the digital signature print option?
    Thanks,
    Shaun

    Hi Amit,
I am not sure on how to get the the signature of the person who released the PO, because as per my understanding the Relase Strategy i.e the Relase code is attached to a Basis profile.
What I would suggest is if you can get all the guys who can release a PO and define him as a Purchaser ie. a Purchasing group then it would be easier to print his signature in the PO.
    Here are the Highlevel steps
    1. Just have the Signature you want to print in a Tiff format.
    2. You can upload the signature as a standard Text using program RSTXLDMC to upload and give a text name.
    3. call the text name in your sap scripts.
    reward if useful.
    Thx,
    MJ

  • Dynamic PDFs with Digital Signatures?

    LCD 9 – Acrobat 9 standard/Pro
Looking for the definitive answer on this one.  My PDFs have a need to be both dynamic and use multiple digital signatures.  For now I design as static with multi dig sig and deal with break-out forms and such via a portfolio.
It would be nice if I could design a form that has both flowable sections (think dynamically added rows in a table using script, or even simple textfields that expand as you fill them up via flowed content areas) and these digital signatures.  As soon as I make that PDF dynamic the signatures are immediately invalidated as the form shows changes.
Is there any workaround to this?  Some of the process I have to design for need flowed fields, and all require digital signatures on the form.  We use Entrust as the security for dig sig - and that will not change so cannot use any inherent Adobe signature security methods.
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Hi Jim,
Yes, the file was created for Acrobat 10, but other than the warning you see on file open it will behave the same way in 9.x as it does in 10. However that said, you don't want to look at the file in Acrobat because you can't edit it or see the layout there. You need to view the file in LiveCycle Designer which gets installed along with Acrobat, and when you do get the file open in Designer it won't complain. Once you get the file open in Acrobat select the Forms > Edit Form in Designer menu item and that's where you can see the properties used to get page flow to work.
I've attached another copy without any data that won't complain when you open it in Acrobat. It is for all intents and purposes the same file, the only reason there are fewer pages is due to the lack of data in the table.

  • Dynamic digital signature appearance

I searched but it seems like the subject hasn't been treated.
Ok, I've read "Digital Signature Appearance" by Adobe, and find out how to put my own image when displaying digital signatures.
Looking at some tutorial from the iText authors, I saw that it is possible to specify different images to display on the signature validation
    status.
This is a very cool feature, but unfortunately it is not documented at all in Adobe's documents... (I had to found a patent description document
    to get more info)
Here is what I've discovered: the signature appearance is organized in several layers (4 defined by Adobe, the others by the document producer),
painted sequencially when showing the document.
What I'm looking for is the way to the various layers are used: one may be used when the signature validation status is unknown, another when
the validation was successful and a last when it failed.
For now, all my layers are painted, no matter of the signature validation.
(description in "Dynamic preview of electronic signature" is on page 9)

The multiple-layer model for digital signature appearances in PDF was deprecated and is no longer part of the ISO standard for PDF (ISO 32000-1).  The signature appearance is a STATIC thing - as it should be - and can not be changed "on the fly" by the content of the PDF.

  • Dynamic date in Digital Signature

I am looking for a method to add a custom dynamic date field in a digital signature or modify the location and format of the Date field that is already included in the Digital ID Appearance.  We are not interested in using a dynamic stamp, if we can avoid it.  We are interested in the extra layer of security that the "Sign & Certify" process provides.
We have a signature box on a Construction Title Sheet that has the Date field below the Signature field and I have the custom image created and would like to add a dynamic date that is applied when I sign the document.  I tried a javascript in the same method that you would use in a dynamic stamp but it is not working.
    Can anyone lend some assistance?
    Thanks in advance!

No, I am not adding blank signature fields to a PDF.  Well..  at least, that wasn't what I was intending when I posed the question.
I have a PDF that is created using a piece of CADD software that is the Title Sheet to a set of plans.   Right now, all of the information on that title sheet is filled out using the CADD software.  Project title, contract number, milepoint limits, table of contents, Federal Aid number, an image showing a general location of the project on a map, etc... Once that PDF is created, we want to be able to distribute it to up to 12 people for Digital Signatures.  Not knowing the exact difference between a Certifying Signature and Approval Signature, we want to be able to use the Sign & Certify process, NOT the Custom Stamp.
I was hoping there would not be a need for the designers/engineers to have to manually add the Date and Signature fields for each of the 12 blocks for every title sheet they create (some might have to create up to 8 or 10 different title sheets with differing information a month).
The other route we could go would be a drastic change to how we create the Title Sheets.  We would almost have to turn it into a form and enter the information on the title sheet in Adobe as opposed to using our CADD program to complete the information.  The "background" image would be the title sheet with a whole bunch of fields that need to be filled out, along with image fields and signature fields that automatically fill specific date fields, similar to another post I was reading earlier today. That change in business practice would be hard to force these people to accept, I'm afraid.
So, what I was hoping for was to use the Sign & Certify > Place Signature process and have them place a custom signature file using their Digital ID and have that file contain a dynamic date field that is automatically populated similar to how a dynamic stamp in the Commenting tools work.
It doesn't seem like that is possible though, unfortunately.
By the way, I really appreciate the time you are taking to help me through this.

  • Dynamic xfa form - digital signature becomes invalid

    Greetings forum,
I have question regarding dynamic xfa forms and hope, that you can help me.
I filled a pdf form based on a dynamic xfa form (with extended rights for Reader user) using iText. When the content of the PDF is changed, the digital signature becomes unvalid, so that the rights are no longer vaild.
Therefore Adobe Reader (9.0) does not save the PDF. I get the following error message:
"This document contained certain rights to enable special features in  Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and these rights are  no longer valid. Please contact the author for the original version of this document."
I tried the following workaround with itext:
    PdfStamper stamper = new PdfStamper(reader, new FileOutputStream(RESULT), '\0', true);
but I doesn't seem to work.
As a result, the rights are valid but the content of the PDF wasn't changed.
Is there any workaround for that or does it only work static xfa forms/acroforms?
    Many thanks for you support!
    Irina2000

Sounds like you tried to fill in a form using Acrobat without the form feature use. Actually iText from what I can see is not using Acrobat, but a third party product. To fill in the form, you simply use the hand tool to move over a form field where the tool will change to an Ibeam or similar pointer tool. Select the field and type in the data. That should not make any changes to the PDF in the sense that has been stated. I have no clue where iText comes into the picture.

  • Digital Signature queries

    Hi Gurus,
I have two questions to be answered and many points to be awarded !!
    Question1:
We have defined one document type SOF (Software), this document type is used on 2 different products (Product1, Product2) in a Plant.
We have defined the Product Types under classification for this document type. The approval has to be through Digital Signature. 4 people (A, B, C, D) are involved in approval process. A, B (serial) for approval of Product1, C, D (serial) for approval of Product2...... We defined a Digital Signature Group: SOF_APPROVAL and assigned 4 Individual Signatures i.e. assigned person A to Ind_Sig1, person B to Ind_Sig2, person C to Ind_Sig3, person D to Ind_Sig4
    and then created 2 strategies, Strategy1(Ind_Sig1, Ind_Sig2) & Strategy2(Ind_Sig3, Ind_Sig4)
Now thing is I want to use Stategy1 when I select Product1 in classification when creating a SOF document, and Strategy 2 when I select Product2 for approval.
What is the best method by which it can be achieved. Under SPRO while defining Doc type, I can enter only one Strategy there?  What is the way around?
    Question2:
Is there a one to one relation between the Individual signature and the Digital Signature Group.
For example lets say there is a Drawing Checker Dig Sig Group (Draw_Check_Group), which has 2 individual signatures assigned to it, one for electrical (ELEC_Draw_Checker) and other for mechanical(MECH_Draw_Checker), and respective user id of the checker  is assign to the signatures. Am I correct to say this?
    Thanks,
    Paddy

    Hi paddy,
w.r.t first question as far i know we cannot assing multiple sign stats.  but there is a solution, we can use form routine field of the document status screen for the document type SOF.i.e. write a program for dynamically assining Signstat to the document based on the object link value (i.e. for product1 assing value signstat1 etc at runtime.) and call this program if the doc type is of SOF.
while changing the status of a document this program is called and the program will check the product type and appropriate sign stat is assigned to the signstat at runtime.
    thanks,
    surya

  • Digital Signatures in DMS

    Hi All,
Can anyone pls help me in understanding how to implement digital signatures in DMS.
I have used status network in which for one of the status I have set doc status as RELEASED and also I have used this option "SignStrat" for which following is the error msg "you must set an audit indicator and lock status for digital signature"
My requirement is while changing every statuses system shud ask for digital signature/approval only then it has to change to next status.
    Please provide me necessary inputs.
    Thanks

    Define Authorization Group
    Define Individual Signature
    Define Signature Strategy
       Assign Individual Signature
    Transaction Code: DC10,
    Goto Define document types,
    Select the appropriate Document Type,
    Goto Define document status,
    Select the appropriate Status,
    In that screen,
    Enable the "Content Version" attribute.

  • Digital Signatures in Workspace

    Hello,
I'm trying to apply multiple digital signatures to a document in Workspace. Basically, I have a form that dynamically shows/hide signature blocks based on a dropdown. So, if the form needs 3 approvers the user selects 3 from the dropdown and 3 signature blocks are shown (along with 3 fields to key approver ids). So, my process basically loops through the approvers and assigns a task to them. When the approver opens it in workspace they are supposed to apply their signature and click complete. All works fine except when the next approver opens the form in workspace the previous approvers signature is gone.
Can anybody fill me in on what I need to do to make something like this happen? It seems that this would be a common use case for LiveCycle.
    Thanks!
    Bryan

Jasmin - I got all the working. Now I'm trying to extract the XML data from the DocumentForm in order to make some routing decisions from it.
I've tried using processFormSubmission and exportData. In both cases I'm saving the output from the operation to a document then copying it to an xml variable.
When I use processFormSubmission my xml variable is always null.
When using exportData it looks like I'm getting in my xml variable. I can see the xml but I can't seem to xpath to the Signer1 to in my User action.  Any thoughts?
    xml document from exportData.
