Dynamically created components in a gridpanel and rendering

Problem: I have a gridpanel in a PORTLET that I fill with components dynamically. I do it in the init() method. After submitting the page, the components are created from scratch in the init() (I write their values in the log and everything is OK).
Then the page should be rerendered. But it is not. No matter what I do, the page is rendered as it looked like for the first time.
If I navigate to another page and then back, the page is rendered OK.
How to avoid that? I really need help with this, because I need to create a custom tree-like structure with textfields and buttons. The standard tree component is of no use (it doesn't work in portlets anyway).

Try to move the code to the getGridPanel(), instead of in the init()

  • How to set/get value in dynamically created components?

    I need to create dynamically form based on definition written in database.
    I created an empty panelGreed in my jsf page
    <h:panelGrid columns="2" id="parseg"
    binding="#{ParsegBean.uiKatparam}">
    </h:panelGrid>I cant use dataTable, because my form contains various component types (SelectOneMenu, OutputText, and InputText).
    In my bean I create components dynamically:
    Private UIPanel uiKatparam = null;
    Iterator componentIt = myComponentList.iterator()
    while(componentIt.hasNext()){
         MyComponent myComponent = (MyComponent)  componentIt.next();
         HtmlOutputText prompt = new HtmlOutputText();
         prompt.setValue(myComponent.getPrompt());
         prompt.setId(myComponent.getPromptId());
         uiKatparam.getChildren().add(prompt);
         switch (myComponent.type) {
         case 1: //InputText
              HtmlInputText iText = new HtmlInputText();
              iText.setId(myComponent.getId());
              iText.setValue(myComponent.getDefaultValue());
              uiKatparam.getChildren().add(iText);
              break;
         case 2: //SelectOneMenu
              HtmlSelectOneMenu selectOneMenu = new HtmlSelectOneMenu();
    //
              uiKatparam.getChildren().add(select);
              break;
         default:
              break;
    }When I try to get values in my Action:
    Iterator it = myBean.getUiKatparam().getChildren().iterator();
    while (it.hasNext()) {
    Object ob = it.next();
    if (ob.getClass().getName().matches(".*HtlmInputText")) {
    HtmlInputText t = (HtmlIputText) ob;
         String id = t.getId();
         String value = (String) t.getValue();
    //
    //
    }and value is still equal initial value
    How can I get velue entered to my InputText created dynamically?

    I solved my problem creating UIData with dynamically added and dynamically rendered components (in each row is rendered another component).

  • What is the best way to dynamically create table partition by year and month based on a date column?

    Hi,
    I have a huge table and it will keep growing. I have a date column in this table and thought of partition the table by year and month. Can any you suggest better approach so that partition will create automatically for new data also along with the existing
    data? Nothing but automatically/dynamically partition should create along with file group and partition files.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Dynamically creating components on the page gives problems

    Hello,
    we are creating a number of custom UI components dynamically on the page, depending on informations we only know at runtime (for some reasons, we could not just create them statically and hide and show them dynamically- please don't suggest doing this way for now).
    The custom components are derived from ADF components, this way, as an example:
    public class MyRichInputText extends RichInputText implements Serializable {
    }They are successfully created dynamically in a bean associated with a button and used for the first time. That is, once wle navigate the page, for example via tabs or fragments, we always get a "Session timeout" exception. Below is the log from the server:
    <Error> <org.apache.myfaces.trinidadinternal.application.StateManagerImpl> <BEA-000000>
    java.lang.InstantiationException: mycompany.lib.MyRichInputText
         at java.lang.Class.newInstance0(Class.java:340)
    <Warning> <oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.lifecycle.LifecycleImpl> <BEA-000000> *<ADF_FACES-60098:Faces lifecycle receives unhandled exceptions in phase RENDER_RESPONSE 6*
    java.lang.NullPointerException
         at oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.lifecycle.LifecycleImpl._renderResponse(LifecycleImpl.java:978)
    javax.faces.application.ViewExpiredException: viewId:/myPage - ADF_FACES-30107:The view state of the page has expired.  Reload the page.
    Also, just to your knowledge, we use javax.faces.STATE_SAVING_METHOD="client" in web.xml. Note that MyRichInputText is already Serializable.
    Do you have any solution?

    Hello Frank,
    thanks for the quick answer. Below is the full stack. I think it will be difficult to quickly change all the code by building RichInputText directly. I'll do my best to be back to you with all the necessary informations as soon as possible. However, for now, if you have any possible idea by just look at the following more accurate log, let me know:

  • Question about creating Custom JSF form tag and renderer

    Is it possible to build a custom form tag in JSF and have it replace the standard jsf form tag. Are there any potential issues with child forms or anything else.
    I created the following
    - custom form component class that extends javax.faces.component.UIForm (the only changes I made was to change the value of the COMPONENT_TYPE attribute and change the value for renderer type)
    - custom form renderer class that extends HtmlBasicRenderer and I made changes to the encodebegin method and encrypt the value of the id and action url)
    - custom form tag class that extends UIComponentELTag ( I did not make any changes here)
    - tld for my custom form tag
    - created an entry in faces-config.xml of my web-app for my custom form tag
    Are there any issues with the above.
    Is there something I should do in addition.

    In theory you should be fine. Some of the open source libraries either swap out the renderer for the standard h:form component or supply their own form components. You could look at their code for reference if need be.

  • Dynamically creating pages when the form is rendered to the user

    Hi exeprts
    I am trying to find out a way in which my livecycle designer form will be able to create a new pages based on a certain field value which is a part of xfa.data.datasets. Say I have to generate the payslip of 5 employee - My form should be able to provide me with 5 different pages for each employee. at runtime. It will have some prepopulated data fields (read Only)  like employee Id or Employee designation or department and some additional fields which needs to be filled by the user.
    In short If I have three employees say emp A, B & C then I should have 3 pages one each for A, B &C with their respective data prepopulated in the readOnly fields.The number of employees will be a variable which will be binded in the context and will be a part of the data model of the form.
    I would like to know if such a functionality is possible to be achieved in the designer.
    Thanks and Regards.

  • (Urgent) Dynamically created buttons: which one?

    I need to dynamically create an array of gridpanels. There is a button and some other components on each gridpanel. I need to implement an action handler for the button (using method binding). But how do I know which button fires the event?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi,
    One of the possible solutions is:
    Have a hidden field in the form. For each of the buttons write a javascript onclick event method in which the id of the button clicked is assigned to the hidden field. The value of this hidden field is available in the method handler. This helps in identifying which button was clicked.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers

  • How to dynamically create sqlldr control file using stored procedure

  • Dynamically creating properties

    Hi,
    I'm migrating my application from NW 7.0 to NW 7.11 CE.
    Previously I dynamically created properties from my application and they were automatically created as onlinemodifiable = true.
    When I migrated my project the properties were no longer created as modifiable.
    Can anybody point me to documentation or suggest a way to solve this issue?
    Here's my code creating the dynamic property:
              Configuration cfg = null;
              try {
                   cfg =
                        _cfgHandler.openSubConfiguration(
                             "application.global.properties",
                             ConfigurationHandler.WRITE_ACCESS);
              } catch (NameNotFoundException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              } catch (ConfigurationLockedException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              } catch (ConfigurationException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              // get the property sheet
              PropertySheet ps = cfg.getPropertySheetInterface();
              // Create the property
              ps.createSecurePropertyEntry(propertyName, "", "");
              // commit the changes
              _cfgHandler.commit();
              cfg.close();

  • Dynamically created combo box

    I am using ActionScript to create component instances for use
    within the
    Accordion component. One of those ia a ComboBox where one can
    select an
    entry from a list of twenty items. The ComboBox works
    properly in the Flash
    IDE but not when uploaded to the site. All other dynamically
    created
    components work fine. I should also mention that the SWF is
    loaded into a
    maste SWF as a movie clip using the loadMovie statement. That
    doesn't seem
    to be the problem sice most components work.
    Anyone have any thoughts?

    It was done this way from the start.
    I should clarify. The combobox appears correctly but will not
    function
    (i.e., it does not open to reveal the choices.
    Thanks anyway.

  • Dynamically create dataTable

    Hi,
    I need to know if it's possible to dynamically create a jsf data table and populate it with values from an ArrayList at runtime. I already have the array list but I won't know it's dimensions until runtime because the queries that fill the arrayList will be custom selected by the user. Can anyone pls help me? If you need any more information or any code I'll be glad to provide it.
    Thanks.

    Use value binding, or method binding, for its rows attribute value. Other attributes may serve parts of your specific needs. -- Or, depending on your use-case scenario, simple value binding for its value attribute might suffice.

  • How dynamically create connection pool and Datasource

    Hi
    How I can dynamically create a connection pool and Data source in Oracle 10g Application server. In our J2EE application the user will be login with db user name, password and database name. I want to create connection pool and data source on the fly while login the user with database name. I our application we have access approximate 80 Databases. so my approach is given bellow
    1) Planning to create 80 connection pools and 80 Data sources so when user logs in while selecting the db name i will call the appropriate data source and create the DB connection. Is there any limitation to create number of data sources in oracle app server?
    2) Create DB connection with out using connection pool and data source. But i am not prefer this approach coz we need to handle some transaction in our application.
    Kindly throw some light on managing connection pool programmatically or in application run time.
    I would really appreciate if any one can provide any links or any inormation on this issue.
    Thanks in advance.

    Kindly let me know is there any drawbacks to create 80 Data Sources to connect 80 database in Oracle 10G App server and each data sources should have one connection pool. so i need to create 80 connection pool. Please let me know is this right approach or any work around to create Data source on fly for each request for corresponding database.

    It's not that you can't format it because you have no backup, it's because you'll lose everything when you do. Lesson learned. Always have a backup.
