Dynamically hide/display multiple report regions.

Hi,
I need to build a dashboard like homepage for users with multiple report regions. Users should be able to pick the regions they want and the display point for those regions.
Is this possible?
Thanks in advance

Hello Asha,
I think the "where" part would have to come from CSS. If you visit http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=49882:3653 you can see a couple of HTML type regions which I placed using div tags and putting something like<div class="rpt_query" id="rpt_query">in the region Header and </div> in the region footer. You can accomplish the same with Report type regions and maybe any type of region.
As for whether or not a region is shown, that can be done in the Conditional Display attributes. I do this by selecting "Value of Item in Expression 1 = Expression 2" as the Condition Type, a hidden page item as Expression 1, and a number (perhaps corresponding to check box as mentioned previously) as Expression 2. I'm actually using pseudo tabs and when a user clicks one of the tabs it changes the value of the hidden page item and submits the page to get the new region to show up.
Hope this helps,
Gregory

  • How to display multiple reports at the same time

    Hi,
I'm trying to display multiple reports at the same time, each one in separates tabs or windows using Forms 11g 11.1.1.6
I have a button which has a call to a procedure which makes use of rp2rro library to show the specific reports, for example:
    call_report('report1');
    call_report('report2');
    call_report('report3');
    call_report('report4');
The main problem is that, just the last report is been displayed.
Is there some way to display report1, report2 etc in separate tabs or windows ??
    Regards
    Carlos

You shouldn't have a problem calling different reports at once. As long as you're using Forms 11g they show up in different windows.
The question is how you are calling the report.
Here is how I manipulate it.
After I pass parameters with the ADD_PARAMETER built-in I set some key values (destype, desformat, desname) with the RP2RRO's procedures.
Finally calling RP2RRO.RP2RRO_RUN_PRODUCT and then WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT passing the correct procedure parameters the report comes up in a window. If you repeat the above changing the appropriate variables (the report_name in the RP2RRO_RUN_PRODUCT and so on) you can get multiple reports in different windows.

  • Dynamic action with interactive report region refresh

    Hi!
    I'm using APEX 4.02
    I've got a page with 2 regions.
    Region1 is a (input) form
Region2 is an interactive report on the same table as region 1
When entering values on the form I'm trying to dynmically lookup similar records in the table with the interactive report.
I've made a dynamic action on the change of the form fields which should refresh the interactive report region. I can see this one fires if I add a alert to debug if it fires.
The dynamic report is based on a query with bind variables pointing to the form fields, for example
    where
    field1 = :P2_FIELD1
This works great on the page load, so no dynamic action is fired but I can see the rows in the report region are the ones I am looking for.
But the refresh of the report region is not working, it is never refreshing and/or showing the correct data after a change of the form fields, so it looks like the dynamic action "refresh region" is not working on the interactive report.
Any ideas why this can go wrong ?
I would like to solve this using standard dynamic actions and preferrably not via PL/SQL or JS, shoudl be possible if I should believe the documentation... ;)
    Cheers
    Bas

    Hi,
When you change value to item, I assume you do not set value to session state.
Use interactive report advanced attributes "Page Items to Submit" , set items session state before report is refreshed.

  • Portal Tabs - Dynamic Hide/Display

    Hello:
We have a Portal Page Group with multiple TABS. We like to be able to display/hide (or enable/disable) tabs based on the Portal Roles assigned to the current user.
Is it possible to Hide/Display tabs dynamically based on certain conditions? What is the best way to enforce this without creating multiple page groups?
    Thanks

The only way I know to conditionally hide/show tabs is to grant access on each tab to one or more groups. The tab will then only be displayed on the page to logged-in user that is a member of a designated group for that tab. (Portal admins will be able to see all the tabs.) If there's another way to hide/show tabs based on other criteria - I'd like to know too! :-)

  • Crystal Reports XI - Display multiple reports in the same viewer window

    Post Author: crystal_dev
    CA Forum: General
    Hello,
We recently upgraded from CR 8 to CR XI. In CR 8, we were able to display multiple RPT files in the same run time viewe window and the reports would display in different tabs. However, we are not able to accomplish the same in the CR XI version of the crviewer.dll. Each report comes up in a different viewer windows which can be quite annoying to the user.
Any way to do this in CR XI?
    Thanks.

    Hi Smitha,
Wow - complicated reporting structure!   What the business wants can be done by creating direct reporting relationships between the positions - using the "005" relationship.  However, this is complicated and is difficult to maintain as there are probably frequent changes to this structure.  Also difficult to control if there are three chiefs in one org - who would approve vacations, pay raises or expense reports in Org Unit 1?  Per this structure any of the three could without consulting the others (all chiefs are equal).
Recommended:  Five separate Org Units - One for each Chief.  Org 1 has Position S1; Org unit 2 has position S2 as Chief and and position S5.  Org unit 3 has S3 as chief and S7 and S8 reporting to him; Org Unit 4 has S4 as chief; Org Unit 5 reports to Org Unit 4 and has S5 as Chief with S6 and S7 reporting to him.  You have S7 and S5 reporting to two different chiefs.  You may have a "dotted line" relationship for functional reports, but again recommend that there be only one individual who can grant pay increases, approve vacations, etc.  The dotted line or functional relationship can be handled via a "Matrix" relationship.
You and the business will have to sit down and decide the real "reporting" structure of this organization.  "Who reports to whom" and then build the structure around that.  You should not reproduce the structure as it has been just because many years ago with another system someone created a bunch of boxes.  SAP is flexible enough to handle any reporting structure, but for ease of maintenance, understandabilty, adaptability to Workflow and flexibility, please try to use the standard structure of Org Units with one chief and separate Org Units reporting to that one each with its own chief.

  • Multiple Report Regions with same height?

    Dear forum members,
I have a page containing 4 report regions arranged in a 2x2 matrix. Each region should show 10 rows using pagination.
And I want them to have same width and height.
No problem to let them have the same width...
But how may I tell my regions to have the same height (that is the same like showing 10 rows would be), even, if there is no data found by one of the source queries?
    Any comments welcome!
    Best regards,
    Johann

    Hi,
You need to wrap your report in a DIV tag. I have done that here: [http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=267:28]
In each region's Region Header setting, put:
&lt;div style="height:200px"&gt;and in the Region Footer setting, put:
    &lt;/div&gt;Andy

  • Non scrollable headers for multiple report regions on a page. Please help!!

    Hi everyone,
I am having two report regions on my page and am trying to have the static/non scrollable headers for both the report regions. I followed on of the threads in the forum and was able get the static headers for one region, but am not able to for second region. I put my app on apex :

Can anyone please help me? Appreciate your help.
    regards,
    Suma.

    Hello Suma,
The first parameter of the MakeStaticHeader() function is your table id, and it defines the "playground" of the function. If you want to apply static headers to two reports, you need to define two unique IDs, one for each report.
Change your SKstandard… report template, and define the table ID to be "table_grab1". Duplicate this template, and change the ID to be "table_grab2". Applied the templates to your reports, and use the correlated IDs as parameters to the MakeStaticHeader() function.

    Arie.

  • Dynamic Filter Display in Report Designer

    Hi All,
We have implemented a new BI reporting tool and are using Report Designer for the output format. The problem is that we cannot see any dynamic filters or navigational level when printing as RD takes it back to the original format. To overcome this issue, we have given the same query with the variable selection so that RD always prints the variable selection but this has reduced performance.
Anyone with ideas to overcome this situation or any workarounds will be appreciated.

    thanks Ajeet ,
But this is regarding Report Designer where i create appliction which is based on the WAD or Bex Query . Do we have any setting in Report designer where we can check the selection input which user has given while execution of the report.
    Thnks . please advice.

  • How to displayed multiple report in View selector in OBIEE

I have one table in that AM and PM hours wise data is having. My requirement is if I select in filter AM or PM the respect data only displayed in the below report. How it is possible other wise how to use in View selector.
    Edited by: user8035288 on Mar 23, 2009 10:40 PM

    hi..
you have changed your subject name from column selector to View Selector.. :-)
    To do this,
I assuming that AM and PM are columns
Create a pivot view with AM column and PM column is excluded here...
Create another Pivot with PM and AM excluded..
Now go to view selector, from the available view select Pivot, and Pivot1 views Rename them as you want to show in drop down..
add View Selector to Compound Layout..
If AM, PM are values, then just keep the corresponding column in Pages of Pivot .. which acts as prompt...
You need not to go for view selector in this case....

  • Displaying multiple midi regions in piano roll

I have overdubbed some midi tracks and would like to view and edit them in one window of the piano roll.
The manual says "Ensure that View > Show Selected Regions Only is switched off."
Well for the life of me, I cannot find any option in either view menu (arrange window or piano roll) for "Show Selected Regions Only."
    Am I missing something?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Not sure if this will help or not, but if you select all the MIDI you have, and then open piano scroll view, all the MIDI will be there. The drag is it is a litle hard identifying one from the other.
I have two Ultrabeat tracks and selected both tracks, then opened Piano Scroll and both were there.
Not sure if that helps or not bro but it is what I have done to address the problem

  • How to display the items in a Report Region

Is it possiable to have the fields in a report region based on an sql query be display in somthing other than a row? For example if I have a Report Region with four columns it will look something like:
    <Field 1, row 1 value> <Field 2, row 1 value> <Field 3, row 1 value> <Field 4, row 1 value>
    <Field 1, row 2 value> <Field 2, row 2 value> <Field 3, row 2 value> <Field 4, row 2 value>
    <Field 1, row 3 value> <Field 2, row 3 value> <Field 3, row 3 value> <Field 4, row 3 value>
    etc
Is it possiable to tell ApEx to display the Report Region like:
    <Field 1, row 1 value> <Field 2, row 1 value>
    <Field 3, row 1 value> <Field 4, row 1 value>
    <Field 1, row 2 value> <Field 2, row 2 value>
    <Field 3, row 2 value> <Field 4, row 2 value>
    <Field 1, row 3 value> <Field 2, row 3 value>
    <Field 3, row 3 value> <Field 4, row 3 value>
    etc
Maybe there is a nother way to do this that uses somthing other than an sql based report region. Thanks very much for the help.

This can be done using a SQL query report region with a [custom report template|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14373_01/appdev.32/e11838/themes.htm#sthref1744].
Unfortunately the documentation is not particularly helpful on this topic, and as use cases tend to be very specific, reusable solutions are rarely shared in the community ("custom" reports after all...) See [this thread|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=1569996] for a good discussion of the technique, with a link to an example on apex.oracle.com.
A response to [another recent thread|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=1012690] showed another example on page 1 of the [Online Store demo app|http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/packaged_apps/packaged_apps.html#STORE], which you can download, install and examine. This uses a custom report template in conjunction with the report HTML Expression feature.
(I'm not totally clear on the display you're after: it might help to repost it using some example data rather than the abstract <Field 2, row 1 value> approach. Wrap the sample in \...\ tags to get fixed width characters that can be made to align, if that will help.)

  • Mutliple report regions on the same page querying same tbl

    Hello,
I have a normal multiple report regions in a page with some editable in those regions, these report regions are querying the same table. Now, Is it possible to have one submit button for all the report regions to update the underlying table data?
Can anyone please help me out with this one.
    thanks,
    Orton

    Sure, here are some details:
    Oracle apex version: Product Build:4.2.3.00.07
    Tables :
    STUDENTS - rows : student_id(PK), student_name ...
    COURSES - rows: course_id(PK), course_name, course_credit
    STUDENT_COURSE - rows: student_id(FK), course_id(FK), student_course_id(PK)
I have a page where I show student's details. On this page I have access to student's id. The name of the field (on the page) is P9_STUDENT_ID. On the same page I want to have a table which is linked to an sql query that lists a student's courses, their credits, names etc.
My sql query is the following:
    SELECT courses.course_id, courses.course_name, courses.course_credit
    FROM student_course INNER JOIN courses
                        on courses.course_id = student_course.course_id
                        WHERE student_course.student_id = 1
Currently it displays all courses of student with Id = 1. I just want to replace this '1' with the actual student_id for the student we are currently displaying information for. Or, in this case P9_STUDENT_ID field's value. Don't know if this is the right way to do this, but still reading for options
