E3000: uPnP not working with Xbox 360

Hello all,
So I just setup my new E3000, upgrading from a WRT54G. The uPnP worked great on that router and my last three routers before that. Xbox never required I setup anything -- I can prove this simply by swapping routers and putting one of the old ones in place of the E3000.
However, the E3000 (Firmware Version: 1.0.02) is not working with uPnP. Xbox connectivity test comes back and says that my NAT type is "Moderate". Most stuff works fine, but I'd like to get it all working. I worked with a Linksys tech who was very helpful and got NAT to "Open" by configuring triggered port forwarding.
I am happy to have my issue resolved, but confused why uPnP didn't work? I mean it was easy for me to configure port forwarding, but for my less technical friends, should I simply not recommend this router because it can't do basic uPnP?
Is there some other configuration change I made that may have upset the uPnP?

In case this helps anyone else:
For the past few months, I have been using static mapping for XBOX live. I recently updated the firmware on my router to 1.04 and still was having similar problems with uPnP. So I continued to use static mappings. One day my IP for the Xbox changed and I got frustrated.
I tried one thing before giving up on this router:
1) Held down the reset button for 30 seconds
2) While still holding it down, unplugged the router for 30 seconds
3) While still holding it down, plugged back in and continued holding for 30 seconds
This does a complete reset of the router. I then re-ran the Cisco connect software (which was also updated recently). I reconfigured my router the way I wanted.
Now, Xbox Live uPnP is working!

Yea, in my honest opinion the wireless on the HH3 is not the greatest at all, the channel switching for me causes problems which causes my external devices to lose connection for a few seconds at times.
Is there no way you could just try it? even for long a game or so just to rule out any possibilites? Also, since your at the other end of your house, that is also a problem even when your powerline adaptors.

RV082 UPnP not working with Back To My Mac

I have several Mac based applications that are not working with UPnP on my RV082 router. It's not listed as a compatible router on Apple's MobileMe Back To My Mac hardware compatibility list. Is there a way to manually configure port forwarding for this application?
Another application that requires UPnP that is not working is El Gato EyeTV.
UPnP is on, and some applications on some computers are clearly able to open ports via UPnP.
I have firmware version 1.3.98-tm.

You will need to contact the vendor/manufacturer of the specific non-Cisco applications (Back to My Mac & El Gato EyeTV) for those application instructions, we don't support them on here. if the RV082 is working with other devices/applications, then I'd believe that it's specific to those non-Cisco apps that you would need to troubleshoot with the specfic vendors on.

Ipod Touch won't work with Xbox 360

Recently I was at my cousins house hanging out and we decided to plug in my iTouch to listen to music, but when we did this it started charging but wouldn't show up in the devices section so we couldn't use it. When we tried it with his 80Gb Classic it worked. It's not his 360 I tried it with my 360 and my brothers 360 and it didn't work with either of them.
If anyone else has had this problem and knows how to fix it please help me, or if you just know how to fix it.

I have had the same problem, but have not worried about it. The iPod touch is the only iPod I have noticed that does not work with the Xbox360 and it may never.

Ipod Not Recognized With Xbox 360?

i havnt played with my xbox 360 and ipod in a while. i connected my ipod video ver 1.3, 30 gb in and found out that it wasnt recognized. i have done the updates for my xbox 360. could my ipod be corrupt? was it an xbox update? an ipod update?

This is an XBox issue. When they update that system it may work again.
This has also happened with car stereo adapters.

EA3500 UPnP not working with QNAP219

HAve UPnP enabled in the EA3500 but QNAP keep telling me "Your router does not support UPnP protocol or you have not enabled the UPnP function on the router"
Any idea how to solve this?
Does anybody know if I need to open the ports manually and how to do that?

802.1x sharing not working with xbox

i live in a dorm and we have to use the 802.1x protocol to log on the network.
so to play xbox live, i have a usb-ethernet adapter and i am sharing my network connection with the adapter which i then plug into my xbox.
my ip address is lets say 123.456.78.9
so my usb-ethernet is set to
ip: 192.168.1.1
subnet: 255.255.255.0
router: 123.456.78.9
dns: 128.227.47.6, 128.227.47.7
then my xbox is set to
ip: 192.168.1.2
subnet: 255.255.255.0
router: 192.168.1.1
dns: 128.227.47.6, 128.227.47.7
i pass the network test, but fail the internet test. i know there are some issues with sharing 802.1x connections, but can anyone please help??

How did you get yours to connect to the internet? I can get mine to connect to the USB adapter but then I'm having trouble getting the USB connected to the internet. It always says that the "Authentication Server is not responding" I gave the USB these settings:
IP 192.168.1.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Router (left blank)
DNS Server: 128.227.47.6, 128.227.47.7
If I tell it to configure IPv4 using DHCP then it can't find the IP address. But if I give it the IP addess above and then hit connect, it just says "Authenticating" and then it says that the server isn't responding. Any help?

No ip with wrt54gl with Xbox 360

I'm stumpped. Brand new, version 1.1 wrt54gl.. replaced my old dlink one which worked fine for my 360 wrt54gl will not give my 360 a ip address. everything else on the router works fine. this is all wired. tried statically assigning one.. no go dmz.. -- no go. checked wires.. tried different ones... everything else gets an ip. tried turning firewall off.. UPNP off and on.. plug back my dlink.. works fine.. can connect to xbox live and play. i hate to return this, but any ideas? is this just not compatible with xbox 360? please help!. -Bmac6996

Norton 360 premier is not compatible and the identity safe does not work with firefox 4 it worked with earlier version. If there is a solution great otherwise I am going back to IE.

All my passwords are Norton identity safe protected. If firefox4 does not work with it I am forced to go back to IE. Previous versions had a patch. I only realized the problem after downloading the new update. I wish I never had.

Symantec need to update their Firefox add-ons so that they are compatible with Firefox 4. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

Hey kole71,
That particular model of Plantronics is compatible for PC gaming but not Xbox 360. Plantronics does have some headsets that work with 360, and I've attached a PDF of the chart found on their website. Hope that helps!

Do I need to update firmware or reload old system parts. I have zapped PRAM. The blue indicator in system audio panel will appear for a second as I slide the bar for internal mic but then it disappears. Is there a fix?

The sound seems very faint but can here static on playback.

Application is not working with mouse

Dear All,
We have a strange issue in the our application (Oracle form) in the one of our client machine.
Some times the forms are not able to work with the mouse but is able to work with the keyboard. After one or two machine restart its again working. When the issue occur we can able to work in other applications using mouse.
Our Applications server is in Other country and client are accessing from India.
This occurs for some user and not for all.
Application server Version 10.1.2.0.2.
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit
Java Plug-in version 1.6.0_31 .
Please any info will help us lot.

But since its occurring for some users (perticulary indian users) and some times. And also its occurring in production environment not in development environment.
Even the java control panel is not working with mouse.
For other country customers everything working fine.
So its difficult for me to apply the patch with these uncertainties.
Checking with fresh java installation and let you know the status.
