E900 - Poor 802.11b Performance and set up tool

I've been a long time NetGear user and networker but after my second NetGear wireless router gave up the ghost I decided that it was time for a change to another manufacturer. Cisco is the biggest game in town, and now that they own Linksys I thought maybe they were worth a try. The E900 got pretty good reviews here on Amazon and it was available for $40 at WalMart, so I thought "Why not?"
I used the CD to run the Setup program, which seemed to work OK on my MacBook. But it's not at all clear as to what settings are being configured, so I went into the web interface to see what was going on. The interface isn't as clear or well organized as the NetGear one, and help is displayed in a separate web page which makes it challenging to read about the settings while viewing the configuration interface. That can be worked around by opening two web browsers, but that's not the biggest problem.
The Setup program and the web interface don't interact well, and somehow the Setup program software got corrupted so that the Macbook hung and would no longer boot from the internal hard drive on which the Cisco tools were installed. It took removing the Cisco directory from the /System/Application Support director on the MacBook to restore booting. I won't be using the Cisco tools anymore. As an added bonus, using the web interface I can set a WPA passphrase that is separate and distinct from the router login password, something that doesn't seem possible using the Cisco tool.
Once over these hurdles, the problems continue. I use an old PowerBook G4 in a spare bedroom that has an internal 802.11b wireless interface, and while the signal to it is strong, it has problems using the channel. Some URLs work fine, but any secure (https) connections timeout without connecting. Some regular (http) connections, such as google.com, won't load, either. Installing an 802.11g card in the laptop don't improve matters at all. The wireless interface in the iPhone 4S seems to work just fine, so I'm guessing it's something to do with older technology in the G4 that Linksys has decided to no longer support. I wasted most of a morning trying to get this to work but was unsuccessful. And without reliable wireless performance, what's the point of having a wireless router? This one goes back to WalMart, and I'll keep shopping for something better.

Linksys/Cisco E900 router has been launched recently. The Cisco Connect software is a step-by-step setup wizard that will have your computer connected wirelessly in minutes.  Cisco Connect offers powerful tools for managing your wireless network such as Security Settings, Guest Access, Parental Controls and Advanced Settings.  Installation of the Cisco Connect software is through the Setup CD included with every Linksys Wireless-N E- series router. Once installed, software and firmware updates would be a breeze with its automatic upgrade detect feature. The Graphical User Interface (GUI) is bit different from other router’s Interface.
But yes, if the Cisco Connect software gets corrupted from the computer then in that case to reinstall the Cisco Connect you need to uninstall the existing one.  You have an added advantage of using WPA2/WPA mixed-mode which supports two encryption methods at the same time: WPA2-Personal with AES encryption and WPA-Personal with TKIP encryption, with a shared dynamic encryption key.
If you are facing problems with some of your websites which does not loads up. Then this issue could be caused by any of the below possibilities.
Web site down or other web page error.
Malware or other security settings blocking address.
Your IP address is blocked by the web site.
Issue with DNS servers or ISP.

  • Very poor 802.11n performance

I'm having difficulties with my time capsule. The performance seems very erratic. Due to me having also having a powerbook I've so far run it in compatible mode.
But the many problems regarding signal strength and a stable throughput struggling to keep above 485 kb/s prompted me to move the Time Capsule closer to the Powerbook so I could hook it up via cable and completely switch to 802.11n 5ghz, connceting the other computers wirelessly.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work. The performance is laughable, I get a mere 5000 kb/s down (internet based test) whereas I normally (2.4 ghz n/b/g compatibel) i get just under 2 MB/s.
Sending files to and from a connected harddrive is also very very very slow.
What is wrong with the Time Capsule? Is it interference from the (bastards) around me that all have their routers setup to automatically chose channel?
Is my time capsule broken? Is my computer broken? What is wrong?
I'm close to returning the device.

    I've just completed an experiment.
Two iMacs side-by-side. One with Airport Utility 5.4.1 ("new"), second with Airport Utility 5.3.1 ("old"). Time Capsule with firmware 7.4.1.
    Initial tests for connection Rate:
    "New" average about 122
"Old" average about 232 (about twice the Rate)
Installed Airport Utility 5.4.1 on "old" iMac.
    New tests for connection Rate:
    Both averaging about 116
To me this suggests an effect of the "upgrade" to 5.4.1. But could this be the case? I'm not going to downgrade the firmware quite yet until I rule this and any interference issues out.

  • AE not working after upgrading to 802.11b/g/n AEBS

I upgraded to the square 802.11b/g/n AEBS but have lost my AE which I use to play iTunes through my stereo. I just get the blinking yellow on the AE now and there's no longer a pulldown window in the lower right corner of iTunes for me to pick the output (i.e., Living Room.)
I've updated the firmware in both the AEBS and AE. I've run the Airport Utility to make sure I'm getting out to the net via AEBS. But Airport Utility can't find AE.
However, if I reset AE to its factory default, Airport Utility will see AE as having default settings and ask me to Update them. I go through the updating procedure (choosing one time to choose to join the existing AEBS network and at another time, to Create a New Network.)
Both times the Airport Utility eventually will say AE has been successfully updated and go into restart. However, it hangs and after a few minutes says it can't fine ANY of my networks and for me to try again. (And again, and again.) I can get the AEBS back up every time but AE is still lost to me.
Any suggestions as to how to get the older AE to work with the new AEBS?

    Hi,
When a wireless network has a mixed environment of  802.11b clients and 802.11g clients, make sure that data rates 1, 2,  5.5, and 11 Mbps are set to required (basic) and that all other data rates are set to enable.  The 802.11b adapters do not recognize the 54 Mbps data rate and do not  operate if data rates higher than 11Mbps are set to require on the  connecting access point.
here is the link which clarifies all your doubts.. and also tabular as well

  • How to connect SPT 1700 to 802.11b network?

I know this is an old (obsolete by most standards) device, but still...
The ads for it that I have seen, claim that it is wireless capable with 802.11b abilities. I have looked through it, but I couldn't figure out how to set it up to access a wireless network.
Can someone, first of all, either confirm or deny the claim that it is 802.11b capable and, if so, how do I set it up?

  • Enable only 802.11b for a single WLAN?

I have only 802.11b client in my production environment (PLC, serial converter, ecc..).
On my WLC how can I configure a single WLAN 802.11b only and other WLAN with all-mode enable?
    Regards.
    Mirko S.

    Sorry, there is a band 802.11g, 802.11b/g but not 802 .11b.
    Is correct?
In this time I had to set the datarate 1, 2, 5.5 and 11M.
I do not think it's the right solution.

  • Aironet 1140N in mixed mode not working with 802.11b/g Clients

I have a new Aironet 1140N Access point , the model is number AIR-AP1142N-A-K9, my main problem in that i have Nokia E71 smartphones on the network, but they cannot connect to the Network, the Access Point SSID is not showing on the List of Available Devices if i Scan using the Phone,
All Laptops are runing Win 7 Pro and they connect quite ok, The phones (8 of them) at HotSpots connects without problems, the Spec says they are compatible with 802.11b/g and the Aironet Access point provides 802.11a/g/n.
Since the phone has the 802.11g which is compatible with the Access Point, why cant it Pick it? the Access Point is Operating in Mixed Mode.
    Bonnie

There are basically two "flavors" of WDS that the AirPorts support: static & dynamic.
o A static WDS allows for a main, relay, and remote base stations in the configuration. This only operates in the 802.11g radio mode. Its advantage is it is well suited when you are trying to cover a considerable linear range ... like a rectangular house where the Internet connection comes in at one of the shorter sides and you want wireless at the other end. The biggest disadvantage of this type of WDS is that for every base station added, you lose half the overall bandwidth.
o A dynamic WDS allows for only a single main and multiple remotes. Think of a wheel with the main at the center and the remotes as spokes of the wheel. The advantage of this type of WDS is it operates in the 802.11n radio mode and doesn't suffer a significant bandwidth loss like the static version.
As a minimum, a dynamic WDS requires two 802.11n AirPorts (or Time Capsules). You can create a static WDS with either all 802.11g AirPorts or a mix of 802.11n & 802.11g AirPorts. Note; however, you cannot create a dynamic WDS with mixed mode base stations.

  • Airport Express (Model with 802.11G +54MBPS Mac/PC and Set Up Issues

    Hi,
We have a 4 Mac and 1 PC Household. Cable Internet Service by Roadrunner.Cable model (owned) connected to a D-Link 802.11G wi fi router (by ethernet from cable modem)in the family room , then out to a Imac (the half moon base and LCD screen with a airport card also in the family room and the closet computer to the D-Link
router, (we did add a D-Link antenna to the router ? about 10 months ago (a D-Link ANT24-0700 (Version 1.2)and a HP 4 in 1 printer attached via USB to the Imac
,a eMac 1.25 ghz 1Gb ram with airpot card also connected wirelessly (no printer attached on the same floor but in a ajoinging room about 20 feet from the Router, and another eMac 1.0 Ghz 1Gb ram with airport card in the upstairs part of our house (a bedroom) and no issue with Internet connection (it has a Epson 3in 1 printer attached via USB, and a MacBook Pro with 802.11N wireless card in side , bought for a Christmas/Birthday Present and also for college. It to has no issues with the Internet where ever it may be in the house. Our sole PC a HP tower with a added D-Link WDA -2320 Range Booster Desktop Adapter (802.11G) and we added a D-Link Antenna same model as the other a ANT24-0700 to help with Internet access which it did as well as adding some ram to increase page loading time etc. It does not have a printer attached. I will get to the Topic Area now
The Airport Express. I was not involved in the set-up as I was laid up due to a bad back and post major knee surgery , But I always (especially recently) wondered why the light was amber and blinking. I read through the manual and also
Apple.com support and MacFixit.com (which is under construction and moved to part of Cnet.com)and then went to the Airport Express Discussion area (sorry for being so wordy) I need a Twitter account to post!) We have a network name for the D-Link and the computers all were added and it also supports a Xbox 360, a Sony PlayStation 3 and a Nintendo Wi (in online use without issue) but..
A network was also as it appears to myself) for the Airport Express and under the half moon bars showing connection strenght (there is our D-Link network "phoenix" with security protection WPA2 I believe) as I have set up the router, We had a Apple Base station prior that was ? 802.11B (a half moon white unit) still have it in the box ) So for normal daily use, checking e-mail and internet use all of the computers use the "phoenix" or D-Link supported Router 802.11G
and The other network calld Apple Network with numbers and letters after it (and hopefully security) password is unknown , The Airport Express is set up connected via USB to a HP B&W laser printer which has saved quite a bit of money on ink, To utilize that printer you must switch from "phoenix" The D-Link router network to the Apple Network (followed by letters and numbers) The Imac and the eMac in the family room and a ajoing room (after switching to the Apple Network
can than print to the lasr printer. The eMac upstairs and the HP Windows XP Professional software can not print to the laser printer (yet the HP PC shows it as a individual network and a strong signal, equal to the Internet connection from the D-Link, and the eMac (after switching under the half moon (not the proper name I am sure) to get to the Apple Network to print , it will not print, yet it shows a 5 bar signal, same as the D-Link connection. I do believe we have two seperate networks (but do not understand why the two Mac's in the family room can print to the laser printer by simply switching networks and then file and print. ** One other 9probaly major item is that it states to set up the Airport Express with a Mac With OSX 10.4 or later (at the time of set up, we had the Imac and two eMac's all running Panther OSX 10.3.9 9which they continue to have installed) We obtained the HP Tower and Monitor and HP 4in 1 printer ust before Christmas in 2008 and the MacBook Pro in Mid December 2009 (current model and running Snow Leopard 10.6. The HP Tower runs Windows Xp Professional (Service Pack 3) so the MacBook Pro which is much more mobile , could be used to do the set-up, or the HP Tower coulf be moved temprarily, I do recall if Router changes (at least with The D-Link You need to be connected by Ethernet to the Mac
that would be doing the set up/configuration of the router (and it runs OSX 10.3.9 and is a older Mac (with 80Gb Hard drive that is partioned for OS9 and OSX as well , it is under a Ghz processor wise and less than 1 Gb of ram as the last ram slot required a seal to be broken and 256mb of ram (?) could be added
it has 768 mb of ram but knock on wood running well. We use Lacie external drives
on the Imac and both eMac's and need to get external drives for the HP PC as well as the Mac Book Pro (15" screen)
I apoogize if I repeated myself, and rambled but I wanted to (in one post) to explain our set up and network configuration
    Questions
    1) if indeed it is that the two networks is true and a set yp that is not correct
can the Airport Express be configured without opening up the router (when ever that happens it seems one computer is unable to get online and each time its a differnt one a Mac or veen the PC
The PC under My Computer and Networks clearly shows the wto distinct and seperate netwoks with strong signals and the distance is not far (it is through a floor as the other emac and the PC are upstairs and cabling by ethernet is not a option
    2) If I need to open the router would I add the Airport Express as a client as if it was one of the computers or gaming systems on the network? (adding the Mac adress or IP address (not sure how you find the Mac address) and its been while since the router was opened up for any additions or work on it.
    3) would it be on the same channel as the router or not ?
    4) Hopefully with proper configuration the light will stay on (and green) on the A/E and the eMac and HP PC will be able to print to the laser printer. Currentlt
when anything needs printed from the PC its put on a Flasg Drive and plugged in tothe Imac and the the Apple Network is selected and data printed, The eMac upstairs has the option of using the attached Epson 3 in one or doing the Flash stick work around.
I would be verya appreciative if some one took a look at the set up above and advised me of what is right, what is not right* and what to do to fix things up
I would imagine after proper set up, delete the Apple Network from the PC and eMac upstairs and ? all of the computers as we should have one base station (the D-link and the spoke (the A/E connected by UBS to the A/E (it may be ethernet but the cable connection from the A/E to the HP laser printer is correct (the rest of the A/E set up ... Please , tell me where it is and where it should be
and ? any idea why we can print to the laser printer down stairs and not up stairs ? it did mention printer set up with Panther as possible, page 43 of themanual we have un chaper 5 Tips and Troubleshooting (under whn your printer isn't responding) (we do not have the interfereance listed in the manual,
our phones are land line, one 900 mghz and the others 5.8 ghz
It is possible to move the A/E and laser printer if that would help the two computers (desktops) upstairs) bt the distance is way less than 150 but their is a floor and ? duct work (metal ) but I think here is a place to stop typing and let some of the experts on the discussion forums take a look.
one lst note (as the lap top will be going off to college in the fall (runnning Snow Leopard, and the other 3 Mac's run Panther OSX 10.3.9 should the HP PC windows Xp Professional be the computer to set up the air port express and the Airport Utility proram installed & would this conflict with the current Router (set up by a Macc running OSX 10.3.9 (Panther) i.e (should both set ups be on the same computer?) but actually aThe D-Link is OSX10.3.9 compatible (and 802.11G) and set up requires ethernet connection to a Mac (You type in the numbers and . etc and password as administror and you are in, or should the admin be on the same cpmpuer for the router and A/E ?
(and considering a Airport Extreme Base Station as well as dual frequency simulataneus and 802.11N (for the laptop now) and future, or wait. The 802.11
in theory would broadcast farther..?? even if computers had 802.11b(our Mac Desk tops and the PC 802.11B card
    Thanks Again!!!
    Many, Many Thanks

    Hello again,
    D-Link Router is model DGL-4300 (along with a D-Link ANT24-0700 Omnidirectional
7dbi Antenna . Our Cable Internet ISP (Roadrunner) provides consumers with dynamic ISP address's . All Mac's have Airport Cards and The Hp Tower XW4550 has a D-Link Rangebooster G Desktop Adapter WDA-2320 (also with a D-Link ANT24-0700 Omnidirectional 7 dbi Antenna (the PC OS is Win XP Pro Service Pack 3) The 3 desktop Mac's run OSX Panther 10.3.9 , The 15" MacBook Pro OS is OSX 10.6 Snow
Leopard (not sure what is after the .6 (right now) D-Link's website is
http://www.dlink.com , I have configured this router multiple times in the past.
also added as clients on the network (Utilizing the D-Link Router) are a X-Box 360, Sony Play Station PS3, and a Nintendo Wii all of which have on line ability
and enables online video game play with any one online.
As mentioned prior the Airport Port Express is Model A1084 Part No. M9447OLL/A
which is USB conected to a HP LaseJet B&W , model 1020 and some how the two computers near it can switch to the Airport Express Network from the D-Link Router based Network and print wirelessly to the A/E connected LaserJetPrinter
I realize I will need to reconfigure the D-Link Router and add the A/E as a client. I will try first to use the Airport Utility and see if I can do anything
Utilizing it (adding it to the D-Link network, I think its unlikely but worth a try but* the password is unknown but I have a few guess's as to what it may be.
I do have the necessary admin and network paswwords to cconfigure the D-Link Router,
    1) * If the the A/E Utility experiment fails and I need to re-configure the router * do I need to (as per the Airport Express Set Up Guide (Use a Mac with OSX 10.4 or later or a PC with Win Xp Home or Professional (have a desk top PC that has the specs) and The Mac Book Pro meets the Mac Spec's)
If I can not get a password to work on the A/E I would reset it using the reset button
And before plugging in the A/E , connect the appropraite cables in our case a USB cable to the LaserJet Printer then plug in the A/E
    2) I would then connect by Ethernet from Either the Mac Laptop or The PC to the D-Link router (if not the router will not set-up correctly)
    3) The one question that puzzles me is that we are not using the A/E as a base
    but a client
in two sections(Using Airport Express , connecting a Printer via USB
and use Airprt Utility to create a new network or join a new newWireless computers using Mac OSX 10.2.7 (Tiger) or later or a PC with Windows XP and it then goes in to the steps of ising the printer for both a Mac and a PC (using Bonjour on the CD that came with the A/E (this appears to contradict needing to use Mac OSx 10.4 or a PC with Win Xp set the A/E up for use as a printer
(joiing a new network or existig one)
And in Chapter 5 Tips and Roubleshooting= Your Airport Express Status Light Flashes amber & Your Printer is not responding (it is flashing amber and the printer does not respond to the two computers upsstairs (one Mac running OSX 10.3.9 & One PC running WinXp and its states to make sure the printer is selected
in the Printer list o client computers, to do this on a Mac using OSX 10.3 or later , open Printer Set Up Utility and follow steps and if a PC with Windows XP , Open Printers and faxes and then follow steps
in Closing ? can I configure the A/E Utility with a Mac using 10.3.9 as above or
? Per Chapter 1 Getting Started use a Mac with OSX 10.4 or later or a PC with Windows Xp Home or Professional
Perhaps I am taking the tips and trouble shooting and Printer Set up out of context or does the getting Started Computer specs contradict them or are they
for use if the A/E was going to be a Base Station and not a client..
    Will keep at it,

  • Home Hub 3 - Poor Wireless Performance and Solutio...

When I recently joined BT I installed a new Home Hub 3. Setup was fairly straightforward and all appeared   to be working well. My home setup comprises desktops and laptops; the laptops via wireless, and the desktops via a switch and then Ethernet cable to the HH3. The laptops wireless is 802.11g - a theoretical 54Mb/s.
Internet browsing speed and download were OK and what I'd expect from my ADSL synching at 4Mb/s.
However, when I tried to copy  a large file from the desktop to the laptop, I realised something was wrong. It was horribly slow compared to my old Netgear DG834 wireless router where I was getting transfer speeds of ~16Mb/s. On investigation, it was running at ~2Mb/s. When browsing the Internet, this wireless limit was not noticeable.
This needed a serious look at the HH3.
The wireless configuration was set to use 802.11b/g/n (recommended) and Smart Channel.
Looking at the Channel, it seemed to select Channel 6 - fair enough I thought. Obviously the Smart Channel would find me the best channel. Just for the heck of it I switched to Channel 7 and the transfer speed jumped to 12Mb/s . That's more like it . I switched back to Smart Channel, and it re-selected 6 and dropped back to ~1Mb/s . So much for that!
I went through the channels and found that Channel 5 gave the best reception in various parts of the house. I was now up to 13Mb/s.
On a roll, I thought I'd take a look at the 802.11 option, and decided that as my laptops only ran 802.11g then maybe I'd be better off selecting the the 802.11 b/g option.
Lo and behold, the speed now jumped up to ~17Mb/s.
    The lessons:
    1. HH3 does not do a good job with wireless, out of the box.
    2. For best results, manually select the best channel. Forget about Automatic (Smart Wireless) because it does not work.
    3. Unless you have devices using Wireless N, then don't select 802.11 b/g/n but stick to 802.11 b/g
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

  • WLSE and 802.11b/g Interference Detected

    Hello there!
I have 60 AP-1231G units over 8 sites running WDS in conjunction with a WLSE on 2.12FC firmware. A week ago, every AP on every site went into fault mode reporting "802.11b/g Interference Detected". Not matter what I try (rebooting APs, WLSE, clearing fault, upgrade to v2.13, so on) I can't get rid of this issue... Apparently every single AP over 8 sites (located in a radius of 60 miles) detected Interference all at the same time.... ???????
Has any one seen this before and know how to deal with this?
    Best Regards,
    Richard

    Hi Richard,
maybe you are facing a problem with CSCsd63242:
    Symptom:
If the 'Fault Severity' of the "Interference Detection" settings under Network Wide IDS settings, is modified, and later if APs are moved from the 'Default IDS profile' to any other newly created IDS profile, the interference faults that are raised
on those APs, are not raised with the correct severity that the user modified. For example, if one enables this setting and changes the fault severity to P3, and if some APs are moved from the 'Default IDS profile' to a new IDS profile, when the faul
ts are raised on these APs, the severity wouldn't be P3, but would be P1- the original severity of the fault.
Whereas, had the APs not been moved from the 'Default IDS profile' to any other profile, the faults raised would have been with correct severity - P3.
    Conditions:
This will happen in all pre 2.13.1 releases of WLSE, and only when the APs are moved to IDS profiles which are created new, or (are moved) to copies of IDS profiles which are created new. This will not happen when all the APs either belong to
the 'Default IDS profile' or are moved to copies of the 'Default IDS profile'.
    Workaround:
Modify the fault severity first. Then copy the the 'Default IDS Profile' to new ones and modify them in whatever way. Now, even if APs are assigned to these profiles, the correct severity will be used when the fault will be raised. Now, once the co
pies are created, don't modify the severity ever again! If you do, the new severity will be used only for the faults raised on APs belonging to the 'Default IDS profile', but the old severity will be used for the faults raised on APs belonging to the
    copied IDS profiles.
Also, don't create new IDS profiles and assign devices to them, always create copies from the 'Default IDS profile'.
    Further Problem Description:
The 'Network wide IDS settings' are supposed to be independent of any IDS profile. But, they are not behaving in this way. For more details, see workaround section above.
The problem is resolved in release 2.13.1 and wouldn't occurr even if the APs are assigned to newly created profiles (they don't have to be copies of the 'Default IDS Profile'). The upgrade scenarion is also taken care of - If this problem was faced
in releases prev to 2.13.1, when WLSE is upgraded from rel 2.13 to 2.13.1, this defect wouldn't occurr again.
    Hope that helps.

  • Setting 802.11b Only mode for WAIR-AP1252AG-A-K9

    I am using Cisco AP " WAIR-AP1252AG-A-K9".
Please inform me how to Set the Below modes to this AP using (a) GUI (b) CLI commands
    (1)802.11b Only
    (2)802.11g
    (3)802.11b/g
    (4)802.11b/g/n
    Thank You
    Pramod Ganigi

I am using this WAP in our Wi-Fi LAB as part of WI-Fi Alliance certification.
You are using the wrong model of WAP then.  For Indian Regulatory Domain, you need "-N".  The WAP you have is "-A".
    1.  If you want 802.11b ONLY then you CANNOT enable 802.11 b and n.  802.11n requires you to use 802.11a radio and bonded.  It doesn't make any practical sense to have 802.11b and you want to run 802.11n because 802.11b only has three channels.
    2.  If you want 802.11b ONLY, then you only allow the data rates for 802.11b, and they are:  1-, 2-, 5.5-, and 11 Mbps.
Read this document:  Capacity Coverage & Deployment Considerations for IEEE 802.11g and look at Table 4.  This will guide you which are the data rates for 802.11b and 802.11g.

  • What is the best Practice to improve MDIS performance in setting up file aggregation and chunk size

    Hello Experts,
in our project we have planned to do some parameter change to improve the MDIS performance and want to know the best practice in setting up file aggregation and chunk size when we importing large numbers of small files(one file contains one record and each file size would be 2 to 3KB) through automatic import process,
below is the current setting in production:-
    Chunk Size=2000
No. Of Chunks Processed In Parallel=40
    file aggregation-5
    Records Per Minute processed-37
and we made the below setting in Development system:-
    Chunk Size=70000
No. Of Chunks Processed In Parallel=40
    file aggregation-25
    Records Per Minute processed-111
after making the above changes import process improved but we want to get expert opinion making these changes in production because there is huge number different between what is there in prod and what change we made in Dev.
    thanks in advance,
    Regards
    Ajay

    Hi Ajay,
The SAP default values are as below
    Chunk Size=50000
No of Chunks processed in parallel = 5
File aggregation: Depends  largely on the data , if you have one or 2 records being sent at a time then it is better to cluster them together and send it at one shot , instead of sending the one record at a time.
Records per minute Processed - Same as above
    Regards,
    Vag Vignesh Shenoy

It sounds like either your hard drive or the SATA cable that connects it to the motherboard are failing. This could be heat related in your case, which is why you see it after it runs awhile. You can take it to the Genius Bar for a free evaluation. If you decide to test it yourself, I usually suggest moving the hard drive to an external enclosure. If it works there for awhile, the cable is probably the issue.

  • Awful Delivery and Set-up and very poorly trained employees

We purchased a Samsung Range and Refrigerator and a Bosch Dishwasher.  Sales Associate AND Sales order state that appliances would be installed and set up (with an additional charge for dishwasher installation) In fact, I went to the store and talked to appliance salesperson and I attempted to cancel the purchase of the cord. I was told that Best Buy would not install without the new cord so I kept the cord on my order.
Appliances delivered on 11/13.  Frig is not level!  Delivery person said it cannot be leveled ...doors hang unevenly.
Delivery refused to install range. They said they do not install drop in ranges (it isn't a drop in ...the range is a slide in_  Left range in the middle of kitchen. I had to move it the next day.
Since I cancelled installation of dishwasher, delivery left it crated in middle of kitchen. They did not even "unveil" it to see if it was damaged.
I explained that water line for frig was just installed and it might be safer for plumber to hook up water supply (in case there was an issue)   Then delivery refused to leave the water line.
I called Warehouse and they said that regardless of what the invoice/order stated, they do not install slide in ranges.
I called Avon, Oh store where range was purchased and eventually (20 minutes later ) was permitted to talk to a manager who said he had no control over installation but could probably get it done in the next few days(it was Thursday already).  I then called Corporate (turned out it is just a call center) and Susan (at call center) called appliance manager at store and he called back and said range and frig would be installed and set up on 11/14.   Then on 11/14 I heard nothing on frig service call so I called delivery and they never received a work order.  Then I called store and Edwin, appliance manager,  wasn't in.  Then I tried to call Susan (who told me to call her back if there were issues) and I found out  you cannot reach a specific person at call center so I talked to Luis, explained the entire situation, and he said he would call back in 15 minutes.  I heard nothing so an hour later I called store again and another manager spoke to me.  He said he would call me back (He did not).  I called him again  and he told me to contact Christie (removed per forum guidelines) at corporate and gave me her "personal" number.  Number was a switch board and her name wasn't in the director...I called manager back and he told me Megan would help me. Megan told me a Tracy (removed per forum guidelines) would call me.  Two hours later I called Megan back and told her Tracy hadn't called me.  Megan said she would call Tracy and that she, Megan, would call me back.  An hour later I hadn't heard from Megan, I called and she left for the day.  It is now after 6 PM.  THe stove will get installed tonight (just got a call from the installer....who, by the way, according to Megan is not qualified to set up the frig.)....but the frig issue is totally unresolved!!   I am truly sick of this.   Best Buy does not train their employees nor do the employees give a darn about customer service.  Because of Best Buy I had to rearrange other tradesmen (we are remodeling) at a big inconvenience to everyone.

    Hello tulev,
While unforeseen complications can cause unexpected delays, it seems something went wrong at every turn. Misinformation and multiple missed appointments would frustrate me too, and I can only imagine this frustration turned into aggravation with the poor service you describe from our technicians and scheduling agents.  I’m sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
After pulling up your account using the email address attached to your forum profile to see how I may help, it appears your concerns have reached Terrance from our executive support team, and he is currently researching your case. I’ve let him know that you’re looking for an update, and he should be in contact with you shortly to help figure this out.

  • Cpupower - can set performance and powersave governors only

    Hi,
I got a HP compaq nx6110 laptop (I know, it's old and slow but it fits my needs for a laptop and it was free ). To increase the time on battery I installed laptop-mode-tools and cpupower. The laptop-mode-tools does what it should but cpupower doesn't set the governors correct.
After modprobing p4_clockmod I can make use of cpupower to get infos:
    [root@Laptop wudu]# cpupower frequency-info
    analyzing CPU 0:
    driver: p4-clockmod
CPUs which run at the same hardware frequency: 0
CPUs which need to have their frequency coordinated by software: 0
    maximum transition latency: 10.00 ms.
    hardware limits: 175 MHz - 1.40 GHz
    available frequency steps: 175 MHz, 350 MHz, 525 MHz, 700 MHz, 875 MHz, 1.05 GHz, 1.23 GHz, 1.40 GHz
    available cpufreq governors: ondemand, performance
current policy: frequency should be within 175 MHz and 1.40 GHz.
The governor "performance" may decide which speed to use
    within this range.
current CPU frequency is 1.40 GHz (asserted by call to hardware).
    boost state support:
    Supported: no
    Active: no
But I can't set the governor to ondemand:
    [root@Laptop wudu]# cpupower frequency-set -g ondemand
    Setting cpu: 0
    [root@Laptop wudu]# cpupower frequency-info
    analyzing CPU 0:
    driver: p4-clockmod
CPUs which run at the same hardware frequency: 0
CPUs which need to have their frequency coordinated by software: 0
    maximum transition latency: 10.00 ms.
    hardware limits: 175 MHz - 1.40 GHz
    available frequency steps: 175 MHz, 350 MHz, 525 MHz, 700 MHz, 875 MHz, 1.05 GHz, 1.23 GHz, 1.40 GHz
    available cpufreq governors: ondemand, performance
current policy: frequency should be within 175 MHz and 1.40 GHz.
The governor "performance" may decide which speed to use
    within this range.
current CPU frequency is 1.40 GHz (asserted by call to hardware).
    boost state support:
    Supported: no
    Active: no
After modprobing cpufreq_conservative and cpufreq_powersave cpupower tells me that these governors are available now:
    [root@Laptop wudu]# modprobe cpufreq_conservative
    [root@Laptop wudu]# modprobe cpufreq_powersave
    [root@Laptop wudu]# cpupower frequency-info
    analyzing CPU 0:
    driver: p4-clockmod
CPUs which run at the same hardware frequency: 0
CPUs which need to have their frequency coordinated by software: 0
    maximum transition latency: 10.00 ms.
    hardware limits: 175 MHz - 1.40 GHz
    available frequency steps: 175 MHz, 350 MHz, 525 MHz, 700 MHz, 875 MHz, 1.05 GHz, 1.23 GHz, 1.40 GHz
available cpufreq governors: powersave, conservative, ondemand, performance

    within this range.
current CPU frequency is 1.40 GHz (asserted by call to hardware).
    boost state support:
    Supported: no
    Active: no
    So I'm trying them:
    [root@Laptop wudu]# cpupower frequency-set -g conservative
    Setting cpu: 0
    [root@Laptop wudu]# cpupower frequency-info
    analyzing CPU 0:
    driver: p4-clockmod
CPUs which run at the same hardware frequency: 0
CPUs which need to have their frequency coordinated by software: 0
    maximum transition latency: 10.00 ms.

    available frequency steps: 175 MHz, 350 MHz, 525 MHz, 700 MHz, 875 MHz, 1.05 GHz, 1.23 GHz, 1.40 GHz
available cpufreq governors: powersave, conservative, ondemand, performance

The governor "performance" may decide which speed to use
    within this range.
current CPU frequency is 1.40 GHz (asserted by call to hardware).
    boost state support:
    Supported: no
    Active: no
    [root@Laptop wudu]# cpupower frequency-set -g powersave
    Setting cpu: 0
    [root@Laptop wudu]# cpupower frequency-info
    analyzing CPU 0:
    driver: p4-clockmod
CPUs which run at the same hardware frequency: 0
CPUs which need to have their frequency coordinated by software: 0
    maximum transition latency: 10.00 ms.

    available frequency steps: 175 MHz, 350 MHz, 525 MHz, 700 MHz, 875 MHz, 1.05 GHz, 1.23 GHz, 1.40 GHz
available cpufreq governors: powersave, conservative, ondemand, performance
current policy: frequency should be within 175 MHz and 1.40 GHz.
The governor "powersave" may decide which speed to use
    within this range.
current CPU frequency is 175 MHz (asserted by call to hardware).
    boost state support:
    Supported: no
    Active: no
As you can see cpupower can just set performance and powersave. I want to use ondemand when on battery because the laptop is already slow in performance mode but nearly unusable when in powersave mode (175MHz).
BTW I can set to all speeds listed manually. Showing you with 875MHz as example:
    [root@Laptop wudu]# cpupower frequency-set -u 875000
    Setting cpu: 0
    [root@Laptop wudu]# cpupower frequency-info
    analyzing CPU 0:
    driver: p4-clockmod
CPUs which run at the same hardware frequency: 0
CPUs which need to have their frequency coordinated by software: 0
    maximum transition latency: 10.00 ms.
    hardware limits: 175 MHz - 1.40 GHz
    available frequency steps: 175 MHz, 350 MHz, 525 MHz, 700 MHz, 875 MHz, 1.05 GHz, 1.23 GHz, 1.40 GHz
available cpufreq governors: powersave, conservative, ondemand, performance
current policy: frequency should be within 175 MHz and 875 MHz.
The governor "performance" may decide which speed to use
    within this range.
current CPU frequency is 875 MHz (asserted by call to hardware).
    boost state support:
    Supported: no
    Active: no
Hope some one has an idea...
    Thanks in advance.

It's an Intel Celeron CPU and according to https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/CP … ncy_driver p4_clockmod is correct.
Trying to modprobe acpi-cpufreq gives me that:
    [root@Laptop wudu]# modprobe acpi-cpufreq
modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'acpi_cpufreq': No such device
And p4_clockmod puts speedstep-lib in as well:
    [root@Laptop wudu]# lsmod | grep p4
    p4_clockmod 3201 0
    speedstep_lib 5136 1 p4_clockmod
    With speedstep-lib loaded without p4_clockmod I can't use cpupower:
    [root@Laptop wudu]# rmmod p4_clockmod
    [root@Laptop wudu]# lsmod | grep p4
    [root@Laptop wudu]# lsmod | grep speed
    speedstep_lib 5136 0
    [root@Laptop wudu]# cpupower frequency-info
    analyzing CPU 0:
no or unknown cpufreq driver is active on this CPU
    boost state support:
    Supported: no
    Active: no
