EA6900 - Unable to Change to Bridge Mode or Reset router Via Smart Wi-fi

I am unable to change to Bridge mode to do a reset of the router from within the software. There is no option to change it to Bridge.  And under Diagnostics, there is no option to Reset.  I am trying first and foremost to set the IP scheme to the same as my DSL router. I would rather not put it in Bridge mode.  I have tried setting the IP out of the range of the DSL router, and within the same scheme.
It does not work.  This is the most current version of the firmware.

Hi Dr. Tek, You can try to reset the router for 30 seconds and power cycle it after. Try to access the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi software again and check if you can change the connection type to bridge mode. You can also use another internet browser to isolate the problem.

  • OpenHub - unable to change the extraction mode in DTP

    Hi there,
I have an Open Hub that is loaded from two InfoCubes and I need to change the DTPs from both of them.
The problem is that Iu2019m unable to change the extraction mode of both DTPs from Delta to Full in spite of having deleted the Open Hub table. Even I have deleted the requests from the InfoCubes, but itu2019s not working.
What else I have to do to change the extraction mode? Are there any other tables I should delete first?
    Thanks!!

    hi Rocio.
Yes i think u can achieve this using an Init DTP load.
first try to run an Init DTP , Init Without Data Transfer, select it from the Execute tab of processing Mode and then try to run the delta DTP without any load, then successive can be done.
    hope this will help u.
    thanks

  • Is it ok to use Westell 6100F in non-bridged mode with Linksys router?

I'm a new Verizon DSL customer.
After several attempts I was only able to connect my Verizon 6100F modem with my Linksys wired router in non-bridged mode.  I just changed the IP address in my router, and then released and renewed.  I did this just yesterday and the connection is fine...so far.
Fyi, I'm using the Linksys for its firewall.  I don't need wireless.
Since I didn't bridge the modem, I assume I'm basically using two routers, the 6100F and the Linksys.  Will this cause me issues in the future?
I need to decide whether to try again to bridge the modem or just leave it alone.
    Thanks.

  • Bridge Mode/3rd Party Router

I have DSL and use a Verizon issued Actiontec GT784WN router.  I want to make this Actiontec router only a modem so that i can use my Cisco EA4500 router as my wireless router.  I need to be able to access the Cisco router via WAN (remote access).  Can this be done.  Seen some stuff around, however the Verizon GUI on the Actiontec GT784WN Router does not list any bridge mode that i can find.

There is definitely a bridge mode on the ActionTec that I've seen in the past. I will need to turn mine on and find out where it is. It's either called "Bridge" or RFC-2684 Bridge, and can be found in your modem's PPPoE or VC Settings. Either one of these modes should disable routing on the modem and hand off responsibility to an external device.
If there is a mode called Static NAT, you can use that to give your router the public IP while leaving your ability to access the ActionTec intact, and gives you the option to make the router "Plug and Play" so you don't have to configure PPPoE.

  • TC in Bridge Mode with ISP router vs TC as Ethernet with VDSL modem

Hi, I have a time capsule. It's the newest generation of the old shape/design - i.e second to newest version. It's running 7.6.4. firmware.
I recently updgraded my ISP to Fibre VDSL and the ISP sent me a crappy router with a built-in modem that you have to use. I checked the ISP support forums and found plenty of advice to configure the TC over ethernet with this router using the DMZ of the router etc. Anyway, I got it all working but i wasn't happy. port forwarding was a pain and you end up with double NAT issue - not surprising.
The alternative config was to switch the TC to 'bridge mode' so the crappy ISP router does the NAT / DHCP, port forwarding, dpnp, internet routing. I got this all working and i have made sure that all of my network nodes/clients (wired and wifi) are all off the TC and only use the ISP router for internet, dhcp etc. This is all working with good speeds, solid internet access but...
Major issues with airplay (use this a lot) and also with stuff like facetime etc. The connection is much faster (40mbps down/10mbps up) than my old ASDL setup but as I said, key services that I use are not as stable.
I think my only alternative solution is to buy a VDSL modem seperately and use the TC as the router i.e. go back to my old config with TC doing all the routing, port forwarding etc.
Does anyone here have a view as to whether this is worth trying? I'm hoping that it if the TC is doing all the routing, I will get less drop outs and services will work as they should. On the other hand, I hoped airplay would be OK as it's a wifi/Lan service rather than WAN but I have had quite a few issues.
Appreciate any help with this and sorry for the lengthy note!
    Jata.

In theory, you will do better by using a simple bridge mode modem and then setting up the Time Capsule as the router to provide DHCP and NAT services.
But, as you might imagine, it is not possible to predict whether your results will actually be better using this type of setup.
Worth a try, in my opinion, if you can find a store that will let you return the modem for credit if it does not do what you want.
Even a simple modem will still likely have to be configured to operate in bridge mode, but the setup should only take a few minutes using the web based configuration interface.
Let us know how things are working if you can, if you decide to the try the simple modem approach.

  • Unable to change off-line mode

I upgraded from LiveCycle Cafe to Enterprise Cafe.  Enterprise Cafe started in off-line mode and I can't find any settings to get online.  How do I fix this?
I also get a message Login Error: There is no Internet access.  Please check your network connection. when I try to connect to the Forums.

Have what seems to be exactly the same issue in Enterprise Cafe (never used the old LiveCycle Cafe).
Have Enterprise Cafe running on my work Win XP PC but I have a message in the  bottom right saying "Currently viewing in off-line mode. Some of the  plug-ins and their content will not be available."
There is no info under any category or icon, and the feedback page  says: "Login Error: There is no internet access. Please check your  network connection."
I'm currently connected to the internet via the work LAN and proxy server,  with no other connection problems in any other app.
I'm assuming this is because AIR/Enterprise cafe aren't reading and  using my system's proxy settings? Is there anyway that I can change the  settings to get it to use the LAN's proxy server connection? Or get any  other diagnostic info to see why it won't connect.

  • EA6700 in Bridge Mode, How to change password

Evening all....another frustrating day trying to use my highly limited network skills.
Have an EA6700 in bridge mode to extend wireless signal to my gym (read garage with a rowing machine in it!) .... main router is an EA9600. Both units working fine but when I set up the EA6700 Bridge, I left the default password setup instead of making the password the same as the EA9600.
So if I understand right, EA9600 has dhcp on and is 192.168.1.1.....EA6700 Bridge has 192.168.1.138 (this is the IP I read from the device page of the EA9600. I switched dchp off and optioned bridge mode.
I cannot get to the admin page of the EA6700 to change the password. If I put 192.168.1.138 in the google box it comes back with nothing. As I say, this IP comes from the device page of the EA6900.
Anyone point me in the right direction to get to the configuration page of the EA6700 Bridge to change the password to the same as the main EA9600 please? It sounds simple but many hours later :-( .... the perils of an amateur hour trying do tech things.
Just to note, devices in the garage (Sonos box, Panasonic TV, very old Sony laptop) are all hard wired to the EA6700 and work fine for music and video....the reason for the wireless is to connect to a Chromecast in the back of the TV. Also works great I just can't change anything.
Many thanks for any help you can give me .... think I'm close to answer but as normal missing key componets of knowledge

...ouch feared you might say that.
So essentially if you elect to go with bridge mode can you access the configuration pages ...if you have the IP number.
Now as it goes I also have an EA6500 which I'm trying to do the same thing on....e.g bridge mode access point for Chromecast and music bits. So I could try that without spoiling (in the first instance) what I already have working.
I have a proceedure for setting the unit into bridge mode (in fact I'm fairly sure one of you network hero's ...Furry Nutz / BigDave pointed me towards some time back) .... but everytime I do it......10 second reset / 30 second power off / re-power up.....it still refuses to find 192.168.1.1
If I swap out the main EA9600 router and put the EA6500 in place, I can get the dchp switched down, the IP address changed and bridge mode set. But If I just connect it to a laptop and reset/poweron/off, the laptop network dialog box just keeps going through a re-boot sequence. I tried a second laptop in case there was something odd on mine....same thing.
Any ideas why the EA6500 won't play well directly connected to the laptop RJ45?
Thanks for the support as always guys

  • No ip with router in bridge mode

i am running a 2009 mac pro, os x server, with some minor and ultimately forgotten changes to unix level services like PHP.
it's been customized, but everything works. Except for one thing, under peculiar circumstances, and I really need help to fix the problem.
here it is as quickly as I can describe it:
I am running an airport extreme router off of my brand new FIOS router (wifi out of the airport). The FIOS router wants the airport in "bridge mode" (if you do not know what bridge mode is, you probably cannot help me,) When I set the airport to bridge mode, my computer cannot get an ip address. it can't see the router, and it doesn't seem to be able to see it at all.
I have 2 computers in addition to this (older mac pro, and a brand new Macbook Air) that don't even need to be nudged. they just work.
I have 3 iDevices that work without complaint as wel.
I also have a wii, a PS3 that, again, without any prodding, accept the change to bridge mode, and get on with it.
can anyone out there suggest any possibilities here?
the only things that are majorly different is that the airport extreme is changed over to bridge mode, and the IP address list is different. (1.92.168... vs the 10.0.1....)
I can work without being in bridge mode, but it robs me of performance, and I like to follow the rules.

Grant, the only true statement was the first one.
the APE is smart enough to do all of the other things you suggest, automatically.
I know that I mentioned that there are a lot of other devices and that They do not have any difficulty when the router is switched into bridge mode. Let me be more sussinct...
No other internet appliance on the network (and there are quite a few) has any difficulty connecting to the internet automatically and without even the slightest adjustment, once the APE is put into bridge mode.
but since I am trying to figure this out, I have more information.
first, my mac pro does seem to have an ip address from the router, in that I was mistaken. It has an IP and it cannot connect to the internet.
second, I decided to try to connect to the FIOS router's wifi directly, to try to determine where the problem is, and it appears that I have the exact same problem directly connected to the Fios Router's wifi.
any inspiration would be appreciated, but I think I might know what is going on. the Mac Pro wants one specific IP address. I think I might have given it a static IP years ago, and there might be some Unixy things I have to do to undo that.

  • Bridge mode help

so I change to bridge mode in the connection sharing field since to use the extreme as an access point.
But for the life of me i can't figure out how to assign it an ip so i can manage it when it's in bridge mode. Is it possible? if not how do i manage it when the extrmeme is in bridge mode?

    You use the Airport Utility.
Under the Internet tab, turn off connection sharing. Under the same tab:
    1. select "Connect using ethernet"
    2. next to "Configure IPv4" select either Manual or DHCP (your choice).
    3. if you selected Manual, enter the IP address and subnet mask you want to assign to your base station. Under router address, enter the router address of the device on your LAN providing this function. You can ignore the DNS fields.
    That's it.

  • ActionTec router MI424-WR is in Bridge Mode...how do I get it out of bridge mode?

    Hello,
I'm a first time poster.  I have raised this question to first level tech support and I was recommended to perform a hard reset of the router, which did not help.
when I log into the admin page of my Actiontec router my router is being displayed as being in BRIDGE mode.   The router is connected to the ONT via MocA.
The router appears to work fine, however I had wished to create a bridge in my home using a DD-WRT enabled Linksys router I'd already owned.   I wanted to bridge this router to the Actiontech but I kept getting IP conflicts.   My speculation was that this was occurring because the Actiontec was already in BRIDGE mode.
I was hoping that someone could either help me get it out of BRIDGE mode (I assume that is not the default per Verizon installation) or if not, any suggestions.
Would this warrant Verizon sending me a new N-band router?  If so, does anyone know if those are 2.4 and 5.0 Ghz or just 5.0 Ghz
    Thanks in advance!
    Scott

when I log into the admin page of my Actiontec router my router is being displayed as being in BRIDGE mode.
Where exactly is this bridge mode displayed that you're referring to?
Main page?  Network Connections page?  Or where?
    A screenshot would help.
If you've done a hard reset on the router, there should be no bridges configured or displayed.

How are you "bridging" the DD-WRT router?  Actiontec LAN to DD-WRT LAN, or Actiontec LAN to DD-WRT WAN?
If you're bridging LAN-to-LAN, you need to pick an IP address for the DD-WRT router that is not in use on your LAN.
You can change the Actiontec's DHCP assignment range to reserve a range of IP addresses for static addresses.
If you pick a low range (e.g. 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.10) be sure you reboot all your devices on the LAN so that all devices get new DHCP leases. By default, the Actiontec hands out DHCP leaases starting at 192.168.1.2.
Here's the recommended method for connecting an extra router:
Can I use my wireless or an extra router along with the Verizon provided router
If you're using a LAN-to-WAN connection, you shouldn't be getting IP address conflicts as the two routers should be on different subnets.
    SpackAttack wrote:

The VZ "N" routers are 2.4Ghz only.  No 5Ghz.

  • TC connected PPPoE, Ethernet TC to wired router wired router to two A express in bridge mode other Ethernet from TC to Mac mini

Network not connecting o internet randomly?
Could anybody help? Need some info about what's happening with my internet connection sometimes.
    My setup:
Time Capsule connected to Internet via PPPoE, one TC Ethernet port wired to a Mac Mini. Other TC Ethernet port connected to a wired type router. From this wired router, two of its ports connected to two Airport Express in bridge mode so, extending same network name as TC.
Mac mini is connected to Internet via network cable and to the wireless network in order to print or use airplay in the rest of the house's floors.
Problem seems to be random. Sometimes we 'are unable to connect to internet wireless in either of the rooms.
I don't know if it has something to do with the problem but  I think that, when Mac Mini is accessing internet (I suppose via wire), the wireless network is not able to connect to internet.
However if we try to connect via the wireless "guest" network from the TC (Airport Express guest networks disabled), we are able to connect.
Does any body has any idea why is this happening? Appreciate any help on this!

A couple of things to check......
PPPoE connections are tricky. What works well for one user may not work for another.
Leave the Service Name area completely blank on the main PPPoE setup page in AirPort Utility.
Experiment by trying the "Always On" and "Automatic" settings in AirPort Utility for the PPPoE setup of the AirPort Extreme to see if one setting might be more reliable than the other.
Other TC Ethernet port connected to a wired type router. From this wired router, two of its ports connected to two Airport Express in bridge mode so, extending same network name as TC.
Make sure that the wired router has been configured to operate in Bridge Mode, not in router mode, since you only want one device.....the AirPort Extreme.....providing DHCP and NAT routing services for the network.

  • How to recover AP that's no longer visible in controller after bridge mode enabled?

How to recover and troubleshoot an AP that was changed to bridge mode and subsequently lost connection to the controller?  Tried toggling switch ports to force reboot, however unsuccessful.  Curious if there's a solution without having to manually get to these APs.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
In order to configure the bridge in Local Mode, complete these steps:
Go to the WLC GUI and choose Wireless. It displays the list of APs that are currently registered to the WLC. Click on the AP for which you need to change the mode.
Check the option AP mode. If it says Bridge, then change it back to Local. This changes the Bridge AP to Normal AP.

  • Connect and 4200 in bridge mode

Can connect be used when the router is in bridge mode with FIOS router as the main router? Seems when I try to install it can't find the 4200. Thx!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Let me know that FIOS router is working as a modem in bridged mode? What is the IP address through FIOS router? Is FIOS router connected to the Internet port or Ethernet port on E4200 router?
Connect the FIOS router to the Internet port of E4200 router. Connect the computer to Ethernet port 1 on the router. Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 10 seconds. Power cycle the router and try to run the Cisco connect on your computer.
Once the Cisco connect software is installed successfully, you will be able to go online.
