Easy Rotator

Anybody have issues with colors changing in the EasyRotator?  I've had issues with images changing color or intensity in my EasyRotator.  Is there a solution.  I most likely missed something...
Thanks in advance

I assume you mean this from the Exchange
EasyRotator - Free jQuery Rotator / Slider Builder

In which browsers are you seeing this?
Which operating system do you have?
Can you post a link to your problem page?

  • White border around images in Easy Rotator

I would like for there to be a small white border around my images when i put them into easy rotator.  I really just want there to be about a 5 px space around them that is really just the background.  I cant seem to find the right place in the code to make the div that holds the background color... which is white...to make it have like a 5 px padding..
or even make a 5 px margin around all images.
I even tried to place the border around my images when placing them in the rotator but the top still pushed all the way up and there was only the white space on the left right and obviously the bottom where the dots are that shows which number slide I am on.
Where in the code will I find this so I can manipulate it... thanks again for always helping

Without a link, it's all guesswork.
Use Chrome or Firefox to preview your page.  Right Click and select Inspect Elements.  This should give you some idea of which CSS selectors are used by Easy Rotator.

  • Link thumbnails in separate page to specific images in Easy Rotator?

    Hello.
I have a a web page with a grid of 16 thumbnail images.
I have a separate web page running an Easy Rotator Slideshow.
I want to be able to click on a thumbnail and have Easy Rotator start with it's corresponding image rather than from the start.
Thanks in advance for any help!

    Thanks for your reply!
I'm sorry, but I don't have hosting yet. I copied and pasted the code below
from the Easy Rotator Website. I'm able to open the Rotator (on a separate
webpage), but only from the beginning. That's as far as I've been able to
    get.
I don't understand the following instructions (below the code).
I can't figure out how to link thumbnails to their corresponding images in
the rotator. I also have multiple thumbs that I need to link.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give based on what I've been able to
    send.
Then, to link to a specific photo in the rotator, link to that rotator's
page using er_col in the querystring. The er_col value should be the
zero-base numeric index of the slide. For example, if you want to link to
the third slide (index 2) in the rotator in gallery.html, use the following
    link:
    gallery.html?er_col=2
When the gallery.html page loads, the rotator will jump to the third slide.
If your rotator has multiple image categories, you can link to a specific
category via the er_row parameter. As with er_col, er_row should be the
zero-base index of the category. Building on our previous example, let's
suppose you want to link to the third photo in the second category. Here's
    the link you would use:
    gallery.html?er_row=1&er_col=2
    Thank you!

  • Easy rotator is moving when someone is zooming page

Hello , I have recently opened new website and i have some problems with it...the link may show some errors because i just bought domain and it is still in propagation phase here is link:        http://www.designmansion.org                         Ok so the problem is i installed easy rotator on the site and it works perfectly but when someone zooms the page it is not moving with the page it is moving left or right and it is very bad...like for example if i zoom the page easy rotator goes to the right and i only see the half of it and the text and other images are moving correctly...so how to fix that pls help?  Thanks

Your code is a total mess.  Use the validation tools below and fix reported errors before you try to tackle the layout issues.
    Code Validation Tools
    CSS - http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
    HTML - http://validator.w3.org/
When your code is straightened out, upload your page again and post back.  Basically you just need to center your page with CSS and then apply a relatively positioned #wrapper division around your EasyRotator div.

  • How to automatically allow blocked plug-in in Internet Explorer

    Hi,
I'm using an 'easy rotator' slideshow plug in on the home page of my site i'm building which works fine in chrome but gets blocked when I preview it in Internet Explorer unless i click 'Allow blocked content'. Is there anyway to bypass this block and have it apppear automatically to viewers as it does in chrome?
    Thank you.

In a word... No. It's an end user setting to allow ActiveX and javascript content.
Let's say for a moment that you COULD disable the script warning in IE with code in your page... An unsuspecting surfer using IE hits your site and the warning is disabled without their knowledge or consent. THEN they accidentally stumble onto a phishing site, and all of their business banking information is sent to an ID thief and they're cleaned out. It may take a while to trace the cause but if they do and discover that your page was the source... guess who's liable for that because of a slideshow?

  • EasyRotator for WordPress - Slider Builder] Adobe AIR won't install on Linux

The auto-installer is a Windows executable.  Not much use on a Linux box.
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/easyrotator-for-wordpress/
I tried to install the plugin on http://5v5flag.com.   Granted I am running the latest wordpress version. Is anyone else having this problem. The solution that was offered to me is to try the newest version of Adobe Air and then the Easy Rotator installer. Still that did not work for me.

You will have to contact the author of the plug-in. This has nothing to do with Adobe.

  • Anyone have a slideshow that works in both IE8 and Firefox?

I have tried the widgets offered by Adobe. They don't work in IE8 and I have tried all the fixes from the Adobe Labs.
Doctype....If I change the doctype as recommended, then I get a white outlined box in the middle of the photos which I can't remove. If I change the doctype, then the slideshow won't work in Firefox.
Meta...If I add the meta line as suggested, no change at all.
Outline remove....I saw this on the forums, but could not find the line in any of the CSS code.
Other slideshows...I have tried downloading Easy Rotator and can't register and when I go to their website - can't put in a support ticket. Obviously they have problems running their business so I would like to find something and someone simple if possible that works!
Any one have any recommendations?  I just need a very simple straightforward slideshow - nothing fancy - for my online catalog.
    Thanks!
    Janet

I took out the options for the end user to pause the show
If that is what you are looking for change the variable autoplay to true:

  • Dreamweaver CC Hangs/Freezes in Win 8/64 Bit

All right, this is really, really annoying now...
Installed CC, haven't changed anything in it, pretty much default/stock install, and if I go to open certain files (.php mostly) it first takes about 10-20 seconds to load the file (even though there's nothing funky in the file, it's 5-10kb in size) and it looks frozen while it's doing that (the window itself says "not responding" for a while).
Then, when it finally loads the file, if I try making changes to it, every 2nd or 3rd change I try to make in there it starts with the same behavior - freezes for 10-20 seconds, then applies the code edit or lets me type in.
I'm working in Code View only.
And it seems like it's checking for something dynamically all the time for some reason.
How in the world do I get it to stop doing this and let me work?
    Jesus...

Yep got the same problem with win 7 ultimate 64 bit .
Any page basicaly i want to open takes jus to long :-)
Another thing is that dreamweaver is becomeing really 2nd choice tool for the simple reason that the good stuff like extentions like flexy layouts you always have to buy.
If you want tabs extention -  you have to buy , you want nice and simple rotator like the easy rotator - you have to buy.
you want any extras -  you have to buy :-)
If you go for word press - everything for free :-)
I generaly thing that the adobe engeneers have small brains and are not capable to produce the ultimate tool.
dreamweaver over the years has really not become any that much better - free tools are miles ahead currently.

  • Overlapping Scripts?

Hi so I have a webpage i'm trying to fiddle around with and so far I've added both a sprymenu (for navigation throughout the site) and an easy rotator. both are javascript functions but when I go to load the page i see my sprymenu for a brief second until it is covered up by the easy rotator. I'm wondering if I need to write a function to re position the easy rotator perhaps? Or maybe there's another method. Does anyone have any ideas?

hello nancy thank you for your timely response, I don't currently have the website online yet. Is there another way you can view the code?

  • Restore from Time Machine backup is failing

The internal drive on my daughter's iMac has failed for the second time in less than two years. I'm not able to restore from the Time Machine backup. The Time Machine restore process failed last time as well. Not surprisingly I'm now questioning whether Time Machine is an appropriate backup solution.
First question: *Is Time Machine a reliable backup and restore solution?*
    - I get no errors whatsoever during backup from Time Machine
    - Have yet to successfully be able to restore system (TM is 0 for 2 for us)
Second question: *Is it an issue with my setup?*
Based on the Macs and other items I already had, the setup that the local Apple store recommended to me for backup is what I followed. Here's a summary:
    - 4 Macs on a network with Airport Extreme for router/wireless access
    - Mac mini with 10TB of external storage has one 2 TB drive setup as a centralized Time Machine drive, which all the Macs on the network connect to
Backups all work with no error messages. Restoring individual files here and there through Time Machine has worked fine. Never really needed, but I tested it a few times from each Mac just to ensure everything was working fine.
Unfortunately, when my daughter's iMac internal drive failed I discovered that the restore not work. First issue was that restoring the system during OS X install was not an option because I was not able to get it to use the network drive. I was told to go ahead and install OS-X and then use the migration assistant, which unfortunately didn't work. Summary of what happened:
    - My account on the iMac was successfully restored
    - The main account with all the critical data (my daughter's) was created, but none of her data (iTunes music, school work, photos, etc) were restored
    - No error message at the end of the restore
I know the Time Machine backup for her account was working as I had specifically checked to make sure that her iTunes music and photos were included in the backup just a week ago. Since the backup was being done to a drive connected to another Mac on the network, her iMac's backup was stored as a sparsebundle. In speaking with Apple support this morning, they had me try to mount the backup by double-clicking on the sparsebundle, which results in an error message indicating that it is corrupt. ARG!
After two failed restores, I'm convinced I need to change the setup either moving to drives directly connected to each Mac (seems like a waste) using Time Machine or switch to another backup tool.
    What are your recommendations?

It may be helpful for others for me to post the approach I've decided to take, which seems to be working well.
    Background:
I've confirmed with an Apple genius and with support, that the likely issue with both of the failed TM restores is that the TM backup was corrupted by the drive failures. Files get corrupted and are backed up to the drive. That is why in both cases it is the specific account that was running (also the highest priority for restore) is the one that is corrupted.
In nearly 3 decades of computing, I've yet to ever need to restore a single file or folder that I accidentally deleted. It's just not a scenario I care about. TM seems to fit this requirement well and has a very cool user experience to do it. Unfortunately, it also seems to have a tendency (0 for 2 in my case) to fail at restoring after drive failure.
Decision: no TM in my back up approach.
My primary need is for backup in case of drive failure. I also have some files that are extremely important that I want redundant backup for.
    Decision:
    1. ChronoSync for bootable backup clone of drives scheduled monthly and done over the home network. Can easily be triggered manually if there is a big change (SL install, etc) that I want to make sure is included
    2. ChronoSync based sync of just critical files to a shared network drive that syncs daily. This is actually a large amount of data and includes family photos (Lightroom catalog and all photos), iTunes libraries, PLEX media library and other user created files.
    Pluses:
    1. Allows me to keep drives centrally located, which is definitely preferable for me
    2. Easy rotation of drives with critical files for offsite storage
    3. Over the network sync is fully supported by ChronoSync
    4. Easy yet highly configurable UI. Unlike with TM I'm finding I can get the software to do precisely what I want, when I want.
    Cons:
    1. $40 cost for ChronoSync
I also looked at SuperDuper and Carbon Copy Cloner.
I tried implementing the above first with SuperDuper, but found the setup confusing and the overall execution and sync was not what I expected. For example, SuperDuper encountered some file errors and just halted the sync as a result.
I tried Carbon Copy Cloner next. The setup was more intuitive than SuperDuper; even though the UI is not as polished. I kept the offending files on the drive to see how CCC handled them. It did much better in that it identified the file issues, but completed the sync for the rest to the files on the system. Clear error message at the end with summary information and the ability to look at the details in the log.
Since I wasn't thrilled with either SD or CCC, I decided to check out ChronoSync. For me, it does a very good job of presenting a simple UI with the ability as need arrises to get in to adjust and fine tune the specifics (options, configuration, schedule, etc) to precisely what I want. Scheduling, including sequencing, is very well done. Performance was the best of the three. Full cloning and incremental sync/backups with ChronoSync were the fastest. Not really an issue for me, but still a plus. A big plus for ChronoSync was that it did by far the best job of maintaining file permissions. SuperDuper did the worst. For some reason after all three uses of SuperDuper with the backup approach above many of the original files had user and file permission changes. For example, user name was "Rachel" with Read/Write access. After sync/clone, user became "_unknown" with read/write access. CCC did a better job; though I did have a number of issues when using cloned drive to boot (these were resolved) and with restore some file permissions were not maintained.
I really think Apple (at least retail and genius employees) should be clearer about the limitations and issues with TM. After my first failed restore, I was told it was an unusual and very rare case. I was assured that the approach (including using a network drive was fine). With a second failed restore from TM, it became crystal clear in my opinion that this is not a very rare occurrence; and that there are fundamental aspects of TM that make it susceptible to backup corruption when a drive fails.
TM is a sexy solution for incremental file backup and restore when you accidentally delete a file or folder. If that's what you need, go for it. As part of a backup solution for drive failure? I just don't see the value UNLESS you want to have incremental hourly, daily, weekly, monthly backups that you can use for accidental deletions. The accumulation of all those snapshots ends up taking up a fair bit of space. I was surprised at my actual backup storage needs in my switch to the above approach.
Your needs are likely unique to you, so your mileage may vary. This is just my perspective after a fair bit of pain and a lot of discussion, reading and testing.
