EBS issue

Hi,
Im using OIM 10g. Can anyone please tell me how can we know that who has updated the ebs table per_people_f. in that one column is there last_updated_by. what is that value representing? The numeric value in that is not returning any matching person id and employee number

monitoring "ADMINISTER CONCURRENT MANAGERS " I was
advised to make sure the target and Actual processes
are the same for all the managers.. but for standard
manager, the Target process is 6 and the actual
process is 5.

2) I have listener configured and working fine in my
environment.. tnsnames.ora all set according to the
standard.. tnsping command to the service works fine.
it connects..when am trying to connect thru either
discoverer, or sqlplus ,it returns the error "TNS:NO
LISTENER". .. how to resolve this ?Do you mean remotely or on the server itself?
3) I've installed oracle EBS 11.5.10.2 on windows
server 2003. I want to try merging patches, can
anyone let me know any sample patches so that I can
merge and apply.. You can make use of advanced patch search and find any two patches which you can merge. If you still have some difficulties, please let us know.
4) how to make sure that i've applied all the latest

EBS issue with special character "-"

Hi Friends,
I am using “001-Standard Algorithm” to find the document numbers in payment notes of EBS file to clear the customer open items. And no issues in clearing the numeric document numbers.
Client has a document number range (ABC00-0000 to ABC99-9999) which is not getting cleared with any of the algorithms. Seems like system could not find with “-“ in the middle of the document. I tried testing with following options but nothing worked out.
Used search string to find the document. (Examples - ABC##-#### ABC##?#### ABC## ####).
I tried using reference field (XBLNR) with same document number by changing the configs and EBS test file but seems like it could not clear because of “–“.
Please let me know your inputs if you faced any similar issue.

Come on, Oracle, where's the quality?

It's getting really bad and EBS is by no means the sole culprit, although it's definitely a prime example of why people complain about poor-quality product coming from Oracle. Maybe a couple examples are in order:
Sloppy: The reference EBS implementation has no fewer than three complete copies of the JDK. By complete, I mean they include garbage like tutorials on how to make Sierpenski triangles, how to manipulate audio files, etc. Demo files have no business in a production software release and the fact that they're repeated several times over just shows that nobody at Oracle cares about doing the job correctly.
Sloppy: Patch numbers are now how many digits long? And they're incremented how? Exactly.
Regressions: The current version of the database engine breaks ASM due to a new bug where a file isn't closed properly. Not an EBS issue but still, if Oracle is carelessly breaking its core product that's really discouraging and doesn't promise much hope to people working in the apps side.
Really, I could go on and on but anyone who works with Oracle software knows exactly what I'm talking about and probably has many specific details they could add in. I'm being a bit vague deliberately as one never knows what crosses the NDA line until the white-shoe guys say it already happened.
The point is, Oracle has a HUGE quality problem and knows it and does nothing, and that really needs to change.

I agree with you fully. It has become nothing other than nightmare.
To add a few pain areas.
[1] Create Accounting - Nightmare - Absolute worst nightmare for OPM Folks.
[2] No FND Design for SLA - Yeah it might feel like what ! But go check out the etrm and there is no FND Design or table descriptions.
[3] Huge issues with SLA Data structure.
[4] Receiving transaction processorr - It is so BS. So many errors and have spoken to so many developers. It has become unmanageable.
Bottomline if you are on OPM, and are on 11.5.10.2 dont even think of moving to R12.
I can go on and on...

Using dataload, after loading some records application is crashing. Then we need to reduce speed. How I can avoid this issue.Are there any log files generated?
What could be the reason for this ( EBS issue or dataload issue).I cannot really tell since this could be related to EBS or Dataload.

Migrating PO using Import Standard Purchase Orders program

Hi All,
When am trying to migrating auto created PO's, First i imported Requisition sucessfully and i took the newly generated DISTRIBUTION_ID for the
imported REQ and i populated the value in REQ_DISTRIBUTION_ID column (PO_DISTRIBUTIONS_INTERFACE table) and then submited program.
PO is imported sucessfully but the DISTRIBUTION_ID is not populated in the PO_DISTRIBUTIONS_ALL table. If any knows please help on this issuse ASAP.

Modifying LOV in Sales Order form

Hi all,
I have a requirement.where in i need to hide the values present in an lov.
i.e.
In Sales order form, whenever we click on Actions button..we will be getting actions lov, we should modify that lov such that 'Calculate Tax' should not be visible in the list of values.
As this lov is opening whenever we click on Actions button...we are not able to modify the record group from Custom.pll as the WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger is not valid in it.
CAn anyone please suggest me any approach as how to do it.

As aweiden indicated, this is an Oracle Enterprise Business Suite (EBS) issue. The appropriate place for you to ask this question is the [ EBS General Discussion | http://forums.oracle.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=475 ] forum. As you work with EBS, you will discover that virtually everything is maintained in the database. There is most likely a Value Set defined that supplies the values for this LOV. You need to find out the name of the Value Set so you can modify it to exclude the "Calculate Tax" value. The fastest way to find out the name of the Value Set would be open the Oracle Sales Order form (OEOX????.fmb) and find out which LOV is being displayed when you click on the Actions button. Once you know the name of the Value Set, you can edit the Value Set to exclude the "Calculate Tax" value. Its been a while since I've worked with EBS so I don't remember all the details. I believe you will need the OE Super User responsibility or a SysAdmin Developer Responsibility to have the privileges to modify the value set.

Not populating error message properly

I want to populate the error message.
I m calling the below procedure on pre- insert and pre-update at form level.
but i m making various possibilities entry and suppose that form is finding the reason as blocked then it will populate the errror but it will populate the error for reason which not having value as blocked.

EBS Registration issue

Hi All,
We have done the sso registration successfully , but sso login functionality is not working as expected.
Please provide some inputs to fix this issue.
Environment
We are on 11gR2 database for both OID and EBS 11.5.10.2.
OID version 11g on web logic server.
SSO server version is 10.1.4.3
In the front end it is showing the below error while login using the SSO URL.
"The Single Sign-On server registration is invalid. Please contact the System Administrator. "
When we run the below query in the backend (EBS R11 DB) it suppose to get the records without any error or it is suppose to show just “no rows selected”, but I got the “ORA-29275” error in the backend

Performance Issue in Oracle EBS

Hi Group,
I am working in a performance issue at customer site, let me explain the behaviour.
There is one node for the database and other for the application.
Application server is running all the services.
EBS version is 12.1.3 and database version is: 11.1.0.7 with AIX both servers..
Customer has added memory to both servers (database and application) initially they had 32 Gbytes, now they have 128 Gbytes.
Today, I have increased memory parameters for the database and also I have increased JVM's proceesses from 1 to 2 for Forms and OAcore, both JVM's are 1024M.
The behaviour is when users are navigating inside of the form, and they push the down button quickly the form gets thinking (reloading and waiting 1 or 2 minutes to response), it is no particular for a specific form, it is just happening in several forms.
Gathering statistics job is scheduled every weekend, I am not sure what can be the problem, I have collected a trace of the form and uploaded it to Oracle Support with no success or advice.
I have just send a ping command and the reponse time between servers is below to 5 ms.
I have several activities in mind like:
- OATM conversion.
- ASM implementation.
- Upgrade to 11.2.0.4.
Has anybody had this behaviour?, any advice about this problem will be really appreciated.

Hi Bashar, thank you very much for your quick response.
If both servers are on the same network then the ping should not exceed 2 ms.
If I remember, I did a ping last Wednesday, and there were some peaks over 5 ms.
Have you checked the network performance between the clients and the application server?
Also, I did a ping from the PC to the application and database, and it was responding in less than 1 ms.
What is the status of the CPU usage on both servers?
There aren't overhead in the CPU side, I tested it (scrolling getting frozen) with no users in the application.
Did this happen after you performed the hardware upgrade?
Yes, it happened after changing some memory parameters in the JVM and the database.
Oracle has suggested to apply the latest Forms patches according to this Note: Doc ID 437878.1

Login issue in both Oracle EBS and database

My environment
EBS --> R12.0.6
Platform -> AIX
DB Node -> oracledb
APPS Node -> app1
Issues:
On DB Node:
when trying to open alert log file getting following error against command:
vi alert*
ksh: 0403-030 The fork function failed. Too many processes already exist.
when trying to get connection through sqlplus either from db-node or apps-node getting following error message:
ORA-12518 Tns: Listener could not hand off client conenction.
when trying to login application while accessing through URL http://hostname.domain:port getting either blank page or 500 Internal server error containing also message of
ORA-12518 Tns: Listener could not hand off client conenction
This is production server and users are not able to use the application. Please guide me to overcome the issue. Thanks in advance.

Issue in Installation of EBS R12 through VNCserver thrgh Putty

I know this may sound quite childish but still i wanna know If we are Installing EBS R12/11i by connecting the Linux box through putty OR by connecting through VNC server .
If we r connecting through putty do we 've to set the Display in this case.
Or if If we r connecting through VNC Server do we 've to set the Display variable.
My query is what is the Differences between using VNC server & putty in Installation of EBS r12/11i.
Today my Boss pointed out that i should install vnc server on windows for installing EBS rather than using putty as it required setting of Display variable.
which i couldn't quite understand. Hence the query !!

Really Appreciate if u could explain it a little bit more.To run Rapid Install you need to have the DISPLAY set properly to see RapidWiz, and this would work with VNC (not with putty). If you can set the DISPLAY is putty (issue xclock to verify) then you can use it (which I believe is not possible).

Issue in invoking the webservice on EBS 12.1.3

We are using R12.1.3 version of EBS. We have developed the custome PL SQL logic and deployed it on the Integration repository. Generated the WSDL and Deploy process were successful on IR. Authentication type used was "Username Token". Created the necessary user grants.
When we try to invoke the webservice from SOAP UI, we are getting below error:

Try seeing the log messages after doing the following setup in the instance :-
1. Telnet to environment
1. In $INST_TOP/ora/10.1.3/j2ee/oafm/config/oc4j.properties
1. Add following property at the end of the file : SOA_ENABLE_STANDALONE_LOGGING=TRUE
2. Bounce oafm container using script $ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME/adoafmctl.sh
3. Perform any SOA specific action like generate.
SOA specific log would be created at : $INST_TOP/soa/SOALog.log
This file should show you the exact error happening.

Text Box issue - displays XML tag instead of the value in EBS

I need to use a textbox (or a autoshape with text) to place a data element in a specific position on the page in an RTF template. I tried using tables and it didn't help. This layout needs some elements to be placed at specific location and using an autoshape or a text box is easy. When I preview the pdf output on my desktop, it works fine. Once I upload the template into EBS XML Publisher, the value in the text box shows up as an XML Tag instead of the value in that tag. The same XML data when loaded and previewed locally shows the data instead of the tag.
Any thoughts on this? Is there a patch or something we might need for this in EBS?

Thanks Tim for the quick response.
Yes - the versions are same. Also, I tried giving the complete path. The issue is that it is not even reading the text in the text box as an XML tag. It seems to think the whole text box is an object and hence just display that text as is. If it was reading and not able to resolve it, I guess it would have displayed blank (and not the tag as is). Again as I mentioned it works fine in local preview on my machine.

Oracle Product Workbench - connection issue with EBS 12.1.3

we've upgraded EBS to 12.1.3 and our Product Workbench is no longer able to retrieve the organization info from the server. We're checking the Packet details in Network Statistics in that case an also when View Concurrent Requests is opened and the server sends back the login page. So apparently PWB cannot log in to the server and is requested to enter credentials.

The issue was a "_" char in the hostname.This must be changed as is not IETF-compliant and therefore not a supported character and is known to cause problems. Refer RFC 952 (http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc0952.txt) for more information. This is also documented in Microsoft article Q275033 "Cookies Are Not Saved If the Host Name Is Invalid", this feature was introduced from IE 5.01 SP1 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;275033
